Chapter 20
Sakura fidgeted on Sasuke's lap as they sat in the principal's office. She swallowed as she thought back on what occurred moments after they arrived back into class.
Flashback Start
Two adults stormed into the classroom, their expressions stony. The classroom filled with talk and shuffling, everyone trying to find out what was going on. A pair of onyx orbs in particular, looked on with a suspicious gaze as the man and women strode their way in a bee line towards them. The lady had brown coloured locks while the male had spiky black hair, one with a pair of wine and one with a pair of hazel coloured orbs.
"Sasuke and Sakura Uchiha, please come with us." The guy said, crossing his arms in front of the two. Sasuke narrowed his eyes, not one used to being ordered around.
"Who are you? What do you want with us?" Sakura herself was glaring at them, lips pursed as her brother ordered more information.
"My name is Asuma Sarutobi, I'm head of school's security. This is Kurenai Yuhi, she is an art teacher and student counsellor, we have come to take you to the principle to discuss... last night's events." Asuma stared Sasuke down with a disapproving gaze.
Sasuke tsked, he knew this would happen eventually. Sakura froze on his lap and whimpered softly at the memory. Sasuke stroked the top of her head, soothingly. Nodding he stood, grabbing Sakura by the waist, leading her out. The two staff members followed them and then took the lead. When they got to the office, the doors opened for them, and the twins stepped inside, wondering what was to happen.
The doors slammed shut behind them, making Sakura jump a little. Sasuke tensed and eyed the chair facing away from them. He moved towards the desk and sat on one of the plush chairs. Sakura followed suit, perched on his lap as per usual. The chair in front of them swung around, revealing a rather chesty blonde who looked to be about mid-thirties, a pair of glasses were perched on her nose and her fingers were laced as she inclined on the table, elbows digging into the surface.
End Flashback
Sakura came back to the present when the lady in front of them started to speak. "I take it you both know why you were called here." Tsunade muttered, sneering at Sasuke's impassive face. The women could just tell he would be trouble, she didn't want to deal with snot-nosed brats who think they're better than everyone else, and he was just oozing that vibe.
"I know why I'm here. Why is she?" Sasuke said, not taking his eyes away from the honey coloured glare. Sure, either way Sakura would have been with him, but Sasuke was curious to know why she had been specifically called out. It felt like they were threatening not him, but what was his and that angered him a lot. The women flickered her eyes to Sakura's nervous yet defiant form sitting on Sasuke's leg. Her eyes softened at the girl and gave her a kind smile. To which Sakura glanced at Sasuke, who's impassive face remained scrutinising their principle, before giving a hesitant smile in return. She was a female Uchiha, they show their emotions.
"There are two seats." Tsunade invited Sakura, ignoring Sasuke's question and indicating to the seat beside the male.
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. "Sakura will stay where she is." He tsked, reigning in his temper and gripping Sakura closer to him.
"And Sakura can speak for herself." Tsunade snapped, moving her glare back to Sasuke.
Before this got out of hand, Sakura decided to speak up. "Tsunade-sama-" she read the sign on top of the desk "-with all due respect, I wish to remain where I am." Sakura said calmly, confidently, as she squeezed Sasuke's hand in her own. He relaxed slightly and she smiled.
"I see..." Tsunade pursed her lips. Sasuke could barely hold back a smirk of victory. "Very well." She nodded, her expression still unsure. She turned to Sasuke. "To answer your previous question-" she glowered at the haughty teen. "-Ms. Uchiha was summoned because I hear that she was the root cause of last night's episode." Tsunade eyed the two kids wearily and sighed as Sakura bit her lip. They weren't very forthcoming, but then again, she expected that. 'And because he told me that if she were here this conversation would go a lot smoother.' She added to herself as an afterthought.
"There is no proof or witnesses so this won't end up in court-" Sasuke caught himself before he rolled his eyes. The Uchihas were untouchable, no one would testify against them. Not even a dying man.
"I have a reliable source that kept me in the loop." Sasuke raised a brow. Was this guy being brave or just plain stupid?
"Who?" he asked bluntly, not one to beat-around-the-bush. It was probably some guy who had it in for them. The doors behind them swung open. Sakura turned to see the new person, and gasped.
"Onii-san?" she gaped. Sasuke's eyes widened. Okay so maybe he wasn't expecting that.
"Itachi..." Sasuke narrowed his eyes. He turned himself around and caught his brother's stern gaze. 'No way...'
"I don't remember saying anything of the sort." Itachi had to refrain from rolling his eyes at the fact that Sakura was in Sasuke's lap, and took the seat beside his siblings. As if he would get his siblings in trouble. Tsunade tsked and pouted a little, her plan was foiled.
"What are you planning?" Sasuke muttered to his sibling.
"Well dear little-brother, since clearly our family has given up on disciplining you and showing you that your behaviour yesterday was not acceptable, I have taken matters into my own hands." Itachi muttered back, giving an awaiting Sakura a hug.
"Hn." Sasuke scowled. He didn't need his brother babying him. His face went neutral when Sakura went back to her spot.
"So, I spoke on some matters with Ms. Tsuande and we have come up with a solution. Anger management classes." Itachi said simply.
"You want me... to go to some nut-house...?" Sasuke dead-panned. Sure, he was aggressive, but he doubted it was a pressing issue.
"I know that face. You think it's pointless. Even though..." Itachi looked to Tsuande. "Your actions have proved otherwise..." he said cautiously. He didn't trust anyone outside his family and group, not even the authorities. "If it helps, I allow you to take Sakura with you to these little weekly outings." Itachi smiled. Sasuke blinked. "Oh you know, to keep you from losing your patience." The older brother explained. 'And to prevent you from throttling another innocent.' "Besides, most of the time you will be exercising anyway. Mostly boxing, now I know you'd enjoy that." Itachi coaxed.
Sasuke felt his resolve slowly slipping. Only his family could do that to him. But some resistance still stood and his eyes narrowed at Itachi's patronising tone. "I refuse."
"Sasuke, don't make me fight you, you know that is the one thing I absolutely hate." Itachi murmured to his little brother.
"...Fine." Sasuke gave in. He didn't like being mad at his brother, usually Itachi stood by him 100%, and he's also right… most of the time. So, he may as well give it shot, right? "But if I have to talk I'm out." Sasuke groused.
"Only a little. All you need to say is your name, why you're there and perhaps why Sakura is there. Other than that, nothing if you don't want to." Itachi smiled, happy that it was settled. "Now, I must go, Tsunade has some other things to talk to you both about." With one finally hug to Sakura and tap on the forehead to a still scowling Sasuke, he walked out. "It may freeze like that otouto." he teased before he shut the door. Sasuke gave the finger to the closed door. Then he heard a person clear their throat.
Sasuke turned back to see Tsunade watching him disapprovingly. His face went blank and Sakura just giggled. Tsunade sighed. "Alright, so onto the next point. Sasuke, I heard you are running the Uchiha company alongside your brother." Sasuke nodded wearily. "Sakura, will you be doing the same?" Tsunade asked.
"Um, actually, I was thinking of becoming a house-wife." Sakura blushed, looking at Sasuke out of the corner of her eye. He smirked at her, but narrowed his eyes at the obvious disapproval on Tsunade's face.
"I see... well actually, I heard that you were interested in the medical field." Sakura blinked. She was, but that was just a pass-time.
"Um... I suppose it is my more favoured subject..." Sakura muttered, frowning a little.
"Then how would you like to study under my wing in the arts of medicine? I don't know if you know this but I am the top Surgeon in the country. I have been watching you and I believe that you would be the perfect candidate to become my pupil." Sakura gaped.
DONE. Whew, that took like, forever. The rest of the chapters I ceebs cause they're good enough. Hope you guys feel better about the changes :)
