"Force me"

Catherine stood there for a second watching him walk away, until his words finally came clear in her head. When she finally understood what he meant, that he was leaving, decided to talk to security and go after April, she walked after him with firm steps and a fast approach, reaching for his arm once again, pulling him and forcing him to stop. "Hang on a minute. Where the hell do you think you're going?"

"Mom, I told you. April's at the Hospital and I need to go find her. So, just let me go." He replied, making his mother let go of his arm.

"Jackson Avery, you are going to wait and tell me what is happening…"

"Mom, I don't have time for this."

"Right now!" Catherine said in an audible tone. With her arm arms crossed against her chest and a serious look on her face, she continued. "Now, tell me why is April at the hospital?"

"It's complicated."

"I can understand complicated."

Jackson looked up at her feeling like the time was running out and all he needed to do was to go back and find April. Explain his mother everything that happened was going to take him more time than he had, but he also knew that she wasn't going to let him go that easily. "April's father had a heart attack. Okay. She's at the hospital with him because he had a heart attack and she's waiting for some news. She's over there all alone and scared and with no news. Her father could be dead for all she knows by now and I have to go be with her."

"Is it serious?"

"Mom, I have no idea. She was crying, barely speaking straight. She's nervous and I'm all she's got here right now. I can't leave her."

"But Jackson, we have a flight to catch, a meeting…"

"A meeting that you can reschedule. Please!" He said, almost begging, but he could see she wasn't willing to let him go. He needed to see April and make sure she was alright. The way she was sobbing over the phone was enough to break his heart. The image of her, alone in some hospital hall, made him feel even more anxious. He knew, then. He knew that he needed to come clean in that moment and appeal for his mother's compassion. So, taking a deep breath, he decided to tell her everything. "Mom, this happened because of me. Okay? Because of me. April and I… we're not allowed to see each other. Her dad didn't know we were dating until today."

"Why did it happen because of you? What did you do?"

"Nothing. I didn't do anything." He replied, shaking his head, while scratching his neck. "Not on purpose at least. He found out we've been seeing each other and that April… well, he found out that April and I have been spending some nights together."

"Together? Have you been sleeping with this girl?"

"Mom…"

"Under my roof? Was she there last night? Did you sleep together last night?" When Jackson moved his eyes to the ground, Catherine figured it out. He didn't need to say anything at all. It crossed her mind in the past the fact that her son could be sexually active. It was something she found natural somehow, since he was young and handsome. However, it was something she couldn't take so lightly. "When I was at the house? Couldn't you have waited? Seriously, Jackson? And are you at least taking precautions? I mean, I told you about the consequences of unprotected sex…"

"It's not like that, mom." He retorted, feeling a little embarrassed to be having this conversation in the middle of the airport, surrounded by strangers listening to their conversation. "April and I, we never did it. Not like that at least."

"I am not understanding then…"

"Mom, April's a nice girl, okay? She's a family oriented girl."

"She doesn't seem like one, since she's been sleeping with you."

"April's a virgin, alright!" He confessed, speaking in such a low tone that his mother could barely hear it. "We slept together because we love being together, because I was going away for four days, because we're… in love." Jackson paused, took a look around, noticing how a few people were aware of their argument. Then, he turned to face his mother again. There was no point in this and he couldn't be wasting any more time. "Mom, please. Let me go. I promise I'll fly out to Boston when this is over. I promise I'll attend whatever meetings you want me to, but please let me go find April."

"Hold on!" Catherine said, raising her head and trying to fully comprehend was happened. "Why did you say April's father had a heart attack because of you?"

"Because April is not allowed to date… she's not even allowed to see me, to talk to me. Her father thinks I'm not a good influence or whatever, but we started seeing each other and then…" He took a second, as his mind went back to the way it all started. It felt like forever ago. "… then we fell in love. I guess her father found out everything this morning and since he has heart problems, I don't know… I just feel so guilty, mom. I was to one who convinced to sleep with me last night. It's my fault, because if I didn't convince her to come up then… then, he wouldn't have found out."

Catherine uncrossed her arms and shook her head in disapproval. "What the hell were you thinking?" She asked, hitting him on his shoulder. "You knew exactly what you were getting yourself into and you still chose to do it. You and that girl are completely irresponsible and if you knew she was not allowed to date you, why did you keep on seeing her? You're so stubborn and foolish."

"I know and I'm sorry, but…"

"But, but, but… I'm tired of your buts, Jackson." Catherine said. Then, she turned around and quickly grabbed her purse. "Where is she?" She asked, approaching him again and Jackson looked at her with a confused stare. "Are you slow in comprehension too? Where is she?"

"What?"

"I'm coming with you. Now move! Let's go."

"Here, hot chocolate. Take it." Jackson said, sitting next to April and handing her the drink. After they managed to get out of the airport and made their way to the Hospital, he found her sitting alone in a chair in the waiting room, still dressed in her pajamas. She hadn't moved since she got there, except to go a near phone to call him. She hadn't eaten anything either. Her father was rushed in and she still didn't know much else since. "You have to eat something, April."

"I'm fine, Jackson. I'm not even hungry." April replied, glancing over to Catherine who was talking with a doctor not too far from where she was sitting. "When you left the doctor came." She said, and Jackson moved his head to take a look too. "She told me to wait while she spoke with him. I think they know each other."

"She must know him. She knows lots of people."

"Yeah." April said, not moving her eyes from the pair, who seemed to be engaged in the conversation. She tried to read Catherine's face, but with no luck. The doctor and Jackson's mom had been talking for a while now and the worst came to her mind. If her father was dead, she wasn't going to be able to forgive herself ever again. "What do you think they're talking about?"

"Don't know."

"They've been talking for so long. What if it's about my dad? What if it's serious?"

"No, I'm sure it's not!" Jackson replied, trying to be the positive one in this situation. "If it was something serious, the doctor wouldn't have wasted time to tell you."

"You think?"

April looked at him with hopeful, but doubtful eyes. They were still red, probably from all the crying and her lips were dry. He couldn't think about the worst. He couldn't let her believe in the worst, because he knew if the worst had happened, it was going to break her into pieces and it was all his fault. So, placing one hand on her back he gently started to caress it. Then, he gave her a warm smile and simply said "Yeah!"

As they stood in silence for a couple of minutes, April took a sip of her drink. When her father collapsed on the floor in her arms that morning, she only got time to call 911 and wait impatiently for them to arrive. Then, they rushed her father to the hospital and the only two people she found the strength to call were Jackson and her own mother. "I called her…" April started and he looked at her again. "I called my mom. She said she was on the next flight to New York. She was so worried."

"Oh, okay. Did she sound mad at you?"

"No, but I didn't tell her everything that happened or why it happened." April replied. She couldn't tell her what happened over the phone or she could have a heart attack as well. And when her mother told her she'd be on her way, April couldn't help but to feel the guilt consume her. This whole situation was mess… a mess she created. She was supposed to take care of her father, that's why they chose her to come along with him during the summer. Instead, she nearly killed him. "I can't believe this is happening."

"Hey, it's alright."

April closed her eyes and shook her head as Jackson's hand gently ran up and down her back. She knew things wouldn't be just fine. No, she was in trouble. Her father warned time and time again about seeing boys, dating them… dating Jackson. And now everything was ruined. ""It's over. I ruined everything." She said, speaking in a low tone. Then, opening her eyes, she found Jackson's gaze on her. He didn't seem to understand how serious the whole situation was. "Jackson, you realize that they're going to send me back to Ohio, right?"

He paused and took a second longer to process her words. Then, he started shaking his head in disbelief. "No." Jackson said, in an almost playful tone, with a confused smile on his lips. "They won't. Why would your parents do something like that?"

"Because I came here to take care of my dad… I came because of his health and I'm not allowed to date you."

"That doesn't make any sense." Jackson went on. "We're together. We like each other and we didn't do anything wrong."

"But we did, Jackson. To them, we did… I did!" April retorted, firmly, bowing down her head in shame. "My gosh, my dad caught me coming home in the morning, he saw our pictures together… he probably read my journal too and I write everything in there, Jackson… everything."

He wasn't dumb. He knew what 'everything' meant and for a father's virgin, they 'everything' was more than what he wanted to read. "But it's not like you're a child anymore, right?"

"They won't understand." She replied, lifting up her head Jackson got on his feet and nervously scratched the back of his head as reality started to sink in.

"No, you can't leave. They can't do that."

"They're my parents, Jackson."

"And you're my girlfriend!" He turning on his feet to face her again, speaking a little too loudly for their own good, considering they were both in the hospital's waiting room. April looked around and saw some pairs of eyes staring at them. This was definitely not the ideal place to be having this discussion. Slowly placing the hot chocolate cut down on the floor and standing up, she took two steps forward and cupped his face. He felt silly, perhaps a little selfish. The fact was he was only her boyfriend and her dad ended up in the hospital because of them. "I'm sorry, but I can't let you go, April. I don't want to."

"I don't want to either."

"I want you here, with me." Jackson said, closing the space between them and resting his forehead on hers. Her hands travelled to his back and his made their way to her hips. Completely ignoring everybody's stares, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "God! What would I do without you here?" The simple thought of not spending the rest of the summer with her made him feel nervous and he wondered when he became so attached, almost addicted to this girl.

"Well, just between you and me…" April started, in a whisper. "I don't know what I'd do back in Moline without you either."

"I can always go with you. And since your dad doesn't like me, maybe the pigs will!" He teased her and she giggled. "Or the cows. No, no… maybe the chickens will like me!"

"I like you and that's enough." April retorted and he wrapped his hands around her waist. Jackson smiled before placing one tender kiss on her lips. For him, it was definitely more than enough.

"You like me and I like you. It's going to be okay."

"What if it's not?" April asked, but before Jackson could reply they heard Catherine call her name. It felt like their little bubble was busted, that the world was not theirs anymore. Reality was calling. April quickly stood up straight and walked towards Catherine and the doctor, with Jackson following behind.

"Dr Perry will take you to your father now."

"How is he?"

"He will tell you everything" Catherine replied, pointing to the doctor standing next to her. "Jackson and I will be leaving, but I'm sure all the staff are going to take good care of you and your father now."

"O-okay." April said and Jackson noticed the fear in her tone.

"Mom, I don't want to leave. I don't want to go home. I came back for her, I'm not leave now."

"You will not be useful here. Plus, I don't think it's a good idea if you accidentally run into her father."

Jackson thought for a second about it. She was right, but what was he supposed to do with April at the hospital when he came back for her, because she needed him. He didn't want to cause any more stress though and his presence there could cause just that. "Are you going to be okay?" He asked, turning to April. She nodded, giving him one last glance and he gave her an encouraging smile. Then, she followed the doctor.

"What happened, mom?" Jackson quickly asked when she was out of their sight. "Is he dead?"

"No." Catherine said, shaking her head and walking towards the exit with Jackson by her side. "They managed to stabilize him and then ran some more exams. However, Dr Perry told me he's not going to make it if another one hits him."

"Another heart attack?" He asked again and his mother nodded in silence. "What happens now? Is he staying here or…?"

"I told Dr Perry to take care of him… to take good care of him. Perry's a friend of the family." Catherine replied, never stopping or looking back. "I took care of everything else."

"Everything else?"

"Yes, Jackson. You know what I mean. Now you should go home. April will take a while and I'm sure it's for the best if you leave her alone with her family for now."" She replied, in a firm tone and he knew that Joe Kepner was going to have the best treatment he could have. However, he wondered if his mother did what she did out of guilt. This was all his fault and maybe she was trying to make amends for him. It wouldn't be the first time. "Oh and Jackson, this doesn't change anything. You are still going to attend those meeting. So be ready, because tomorrow, we're taking the first flight back to Boston."

"What? Tomorrow?"

"Yes." Catherine said, opening the door that led to the outside of the hospital.

"Avery!" Mark exclaimed with his usual grin when he saw Jackson walking into the restaurant. He quickly stood up and opened his arms to greet his friend.

"Hey!" Just as he was about to leave the hospital, Jackson heard his phone ring. It was Mark inviting him to lunch, completely clueless to everything that happened and unaware that he was supposed to leave town that day. He decided to agree to meet with him. It would do him no good staying home thinking about April and the fact that her father was in the hospital. He also wanted to avoid his mother at all coast. So when Mark called he actually thanked the universe. "So you were about to leave for Boston without telling me, huh?" Mark said, sitting on the chair while Jackson placed the backpack he still had with him on the empty chair next to him.

"Sorry about that, but you know my mom." Jackson replied, taking his seat as well. "I didn't know I was leaving either."

"But you're going?"

"I guess. She wants me to be more involved with the Foundation this year. I don't think she's gonna let me get out of it so easily."

"Then I'm glad you came. I really wanted to talk to you."

"What's up?"

"I was thinking about you the other day." He started, when Jackson finally put his attention to him. "What you told me about you and April, you know?"

"Hmm, no. What do you mean?"

"I mean, what you told me about you two hitting it off… how she's kinda your girlfriend."

"Yeah?"

"And how you are sleeping together now." Mark continued, but Jackson didn't know where this was supposed to be going. "How eventually you're gonna, you know… do it."

"I don't see the point..." As soon as he spoke, Mark quickly reached for a small box he was keeping near him and placed it on top of the table. Jackson looked at it and after taking a second to figure out what it was, he almost jumped from his seat and grabbed the small package. "Jeez, Mark. What the hell?"

"What? Don't look so surprised." Mark said, laughing at his friend's sudden reaction. "They're just condoms. You're not gonna tell me you never saw a condom?"

"No, that's not… no!" Jackson said, carefully uncovering the package again to take a better look at it. "What made you think I needed this?"

"I'm just looking after you." He replied, amused with Jackson's embarrassment. His face was fully red as he kept peeking under the hand that covered the small box placed on the table. "You and I both know it's going to happen eventually. Plus, it's just sex. You don't have to get all nervous about sex with me."

"I'm not nervous." Jackson said, looking around the room full of people uncomfortably, trying to see if anybody was listening to their conversation. "It's awkward. That's all."

"It's not awkward." Mark went on. "Oh and since it's gonna be her first time, you probably wanna buy some lube too. It helps a lot with…"

"Oh my … shut up!" Jackson said, grabbing the box and quickly turning to the side to put them inside of his backpack. "Besides, I don't think I'm gonna be needing them anytime soon."

"What happened? Did you guys break up?"

"No."

"Then what?"

"Well…"

Sitting on his bed with his back against the hardboard, with the little red notebook April gave him a few days ago on his lap, he grabbed a pen and once again found himself writing down his thoughts, his feelings. This day couldn't have been more tedious. It seemed like without April, he didn't have any other distractions, anything else to do. It was actually a bit ridiculous to be feeling this way. The lunch with Mark was good and he found it very helpful to talk to someone about everything that happened. However, he spent the whole afternoon worrying about her.

His phone vibrated on his nightstand and Jackson quickly reached out to grab it, putting the notebook to the side. "Hey. Can we meet?" As he read the message out loud, he thanked God to finally be hearing some news from her. "Now? Where?" Jackson replied in an instant, anxiously waiting to see her. It was a little past dinner time and she was finally home.

"Yes. Outside."

"On my way." Jackson texted back, before sitting on the edge of his bed to put on his shoes. Then, he made his way downstairs and through the kitchen back door, he found April already waiting for him.

"Hey!" He said, walking towards her with a smile of relief. She seemed fine, wearing a simple dress and a soft cardigan. April replied with a low 'Hi' and when he kissed her lips gently, Jackson noticed her kiss wasn't as warm as they usually were. "How are you? How are things?"

"My mom is here. She knows too."

"About us?"

"About everything." She wrapped her arms around herself, taking a step back from him and when she spoke, he noticed the sadness in her voice. Keeping her eyes on the ground, Jackson saw how she started moving her right foot, kicking the grass nervously. "And I was right. They want to send me back."

"And we talked about this. You're not going, right?" He waited for an answer, a reassurance that she wasn't leaving, that she was staying with him, for him… for them. But the answer never came and after a few seconds in silence, he closed the space between them and placed his hands on her shoulders, but she still didn't look up. "April, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." She replied, with a shaky voice. It was like she was ashamed of looking at him, of looking at him in the eyes and he felt their surroundings change, the atmosphere felt different. Something was definitely not right.

"C'mon, April. Talk to me." He said, lowering his head to meet her eyes, but she seemed determined to hide hers. "Can you look at me, please?"

"I'm sorry." She suddenly said. "I'm so sorry."

"What do you mean?" Jackson asked, but she simply shook her head. "Look, your dad is fine. Your mom is here and we can figure it out. We can figure it out, April. You don't have to go. I won't let you go. I couldn't."

"It's not that simple." She retorted. Jackson moved his hands, resting them on her chin, determined to make her look up at him. He needed to see her eyes, to read them. They were a mirror to her soul.

"April, look at me. Please, look at me."

"We did something wrong and now we have to deal with the consequences of our actions." April said, finally allowing his eyes to meet hers. The tears she was holding back were not easy to conceal and the way her lip was trembling gave it all away.

"We didn't do anything wrong!"

"We did. I did!"

"We like each other, April. It's only natural that two people who like each other start showing their feelings for each other."

"I knew what was going to happen… I knew that if I broke the rules, this would happen…" April continued, ignoring him. "I knew it and I still did it anyways and now…" She paused and looked up to the sky, rolling her eyes.

"Now, what?" He asked, but she didn't say a word. He knew what she meant thought. "No. You can't go back to Ohio."

"I have to, Jackson. They're my parents."

"What? No, we can find a way to work it out."

"We can't and we won't." Her words were sharp, cold, almost robotic, like she had been preparing herself to say them for a while. She wasn't being his April and when she took another step back, freeing herself from his hands, he could feel the space growing between them.

"Okay, what's going on here?" Jackson said, with a furrowed brow and confusion spread all over his face. "I don't understand. This morning you told me you didn't want to leave even if they asked you to. You told me you were going to stay."

"I never made such promises to you."

Jackson's mouth dropped to the floor in shock. She couldn't possibly be considering this. She couldn't simply leave him without even fighting. "April, c'mon. I'll talk to your dad. I'll explain him that…"

"No, absolutely not! April said, moving her hands in front of her body. She sounded distant, almost as if she was angry at him for some reason he was still trying to comprehend. "My father had a heart attack this morning because of me... and you." She went on, pointing one finger at him. "Seeing you or talking to you is definitely not the best idea right now."

"But you can't simply leave. You can't let them run your life just because they don't agree with what you do. For fuck's sake, you're not a kid anymore!" Jackson shouted back. This conversation wasn't going anywhere. "And stop making me feel guilty for something I don't regret doing, okay? I'm sorry your father had a heart attack, I'm sorry he's angry at you, but I'm not sorry that I like you, that we've been sleeping together."

"You don't understand."

"Of course I don't understand. You're not even making an effort to make me understand, because this honestly doesn't make any sense at all to me!"

"No! You don't understand because you weren't raised the same way I was."

"I know I wasn't, but what is that supposed to mean?"

"It means that you were obviously raised by a mother who let you do as you pleased, who was barely present in your life. A mother you seem so glad to be pushing away so you can continue to live your life the way you want to!" She replied, shouting this time. The anger in her voice made her speak fast and in a high pitch. "You're just a spoiled kid who is used to getting everything you want. Well, let me tell you that I'm not your possession! You're barely my boyfriend."

Jackson froze and looked at her with a wide stare and raised eyebrows. He thought she was different, that she didn't see him that way. They even talked about it in several occasions and she seemed to understand him. Her words weren't making much sense at this point, but they couldn't hurt more. "So I'm barely your boyfriend, right?" He asked, repeating her words. She turned her face to the side and looked away. "I'm barely your boyfriend." He kept whispering in disbelief. His hands moved to his pockets and he could feel his drooping body make his knees fail on him. Then, he raised his head and looked straight at her in wonder. "You're not the person I know… not the April I know. What did they do to you? What did they say to you?

"My parents didn't…"

"They brainwashed you." Jackson cut her off. "And the worst part is that you let them mess up with your head."

"They're my parents, Jackson. They know what's best for me."

"Tell me, what did they tell you that made you change your mind?" He asked and her eyes met his again. There was no spark in them. No life. Only regret. "Because in one moment you tell me you like me, the other you're completely out of your mind."

"I never said I didn't like you still, but sometimes feelings get in the way of what's really important."

"No, cut the bullshit with me, April." Jackson said, knowing she had her answers already prepared. He wanted to hear her tell him the truth, what was really going on, what really changed her. "Tell me! Tell me what they said."

"Nothing. It was nothing!"

"It was something." He went on, taking a step closer, but she kept shaking her head and rolling her eyes, trying desperately to hide it from him, to keep it together. "Tell me what it was!"

"Damn it, Jackson. Enough is enough!" April said, shouting again. "My gosh! I almost killed my father, the last thing I can do right now is obey and go back to Moline."

"You didn't do anything. Your father has heart problems, you told me that before. It happened because it had to happen eventually."

"No, it happened because of us. Because I fell for you when he kept warning me about guys like you and I let myself go and my feelings... I'm so blind! I was so blind with… love that I could hardly see straight and now here I am in this mess. A mess that you created…"

"I created?"

"Yes, you created!" She yelled, pointing a finger at him again. "You had no business going after me, stalking me everywhere I went."

"Stalking you? So now I'm what? A stalker?" He incredulously asked. "Are you trying to say I took advantage of you?"

"And maybe you did!" She replied. "It was so easy. I was right there and you, with your looks and easy talk…"

"What the hell, April?" Jackson asked. He couldn't believe what she was accusing him off or where all of this was coming from. "I would never do that. I fell in love with you the same way you fell in love with me."

"I wouldn't know."

He turned to the side, not wanting to face her. Then, he shook his head and scratched the back of his neck, frustrated with the whole situation. His head was starting to hurt at that point and she was being so stubborn. He couldn't take it any longer. "You know what? Fine. You want to blame it on me, do it. You want to leave, go! It's your life anyways." He retorted, before turning his back completely on her and starting to walk away.

"Fine!" She harshly said.

He was about to lose his temper. Still not getting why she was acting the way she was or saying the things she was saying, he turned around again and with furious tone, he said. "Why are you doing this to me? Why? I'm sorry about your dad, I'm sorry and I understand what you must be feeling…"

"You don't have a father. You will never understand." She shot him dead. The venom in her words were enough to make him feel like he was going to suffocate, fall on the ground and stop breathing. Like a knife, they cut him open, leaving him bleeding, drowning in his own blood. She was drunk from her own hate, her own anger.

He nodded, speechless. There was nothing he could say and he doubted the lump in his throat would even allow him to speak. So, he simply turned around and if his heart wasn't beating fast against his chest, he'd swear he was barely alive.

As he took the first steps back, he heard her voice. "Oh no, I didn't mean it." Then, he felt her small hand on his arm, pulling him back, but he wasn't ready faced her again.

"But you did." Jackson replied, with his back to hers and nothing but sadness in his voice. "I'm losing my mind trying to understand yours, April."

"Jackson…"

"Just let me go… please."

.

The next morning

He didn't quite remember what happened next, after he left her and went to his room. He felt numb, lost. She turned out to be just another disappointment and the fact that he was on an airplane, on his way to Boston, made him realize that the next time he stepped foot in the Hamptons again, she wasn't going to be there. His heart was still wounded and he could barely think straight, but her words kept haunting his mind. Why did he have to fall in love like that? Why did he allow himself to get caught by her charm?

His mother wasn't lying when she told him they'd be on the first flight to Boston and looking outside the window proved just that. The sun was just now starting to make an appearance. He didn't mind though. Actually, leaving that early made it easier for him to accept him accept the fact that it was all over now and he was never going to see her ever again. He didn't even tell her he was leaving too. What would be the point anyways?

Catherine was sleeping next to him, which was actually great. He didn't want to deal with people just yet. So, he searched inside his backpack, the one he had already packed, and after remembering that he left his phone on top of his nightstand when he left, he searched for his Ipod, hoping he didn't forget it too.

There it was. He didn't forget. And after adjudging his headphones to his ears, he closed his eyes and decided to get lost in the music playing.

"You take the clothes off my back and I let you. You steal the food right out of my mouth and I watch you eat it and I still don't know why, why I love you so much."

He couldn't help but to laugh at the irony of this song. He didn't chose it. It just started playing when he turned the music on. It was Jay Z's "Holy Grail" and Justin Timberlake's voice was unbearable to him in that moment. April liked Justin Timberlake, he knew that much. Even here he couldn't escape her.

"And baby, it's amazing I'm in this maze with you. I just can't crack your code. One day you screaming you love me loud, the next day you're so cold. One day you're here. One day you're there, one day you care. You're so unfair."

Jackson couldn't listen to it any longer. So, abruptly taking off his headphones off, he murmured "Stupid Justin Timberlake." Everything that reminded him of her hurt like hell.

His mother opened her eyes in that instant and asked if he said anything. He lied and said he only needed to use the restroom. When he got up, Catherine allowed him to go. Then, she noticed his backpack fallen on the floor. She picked it up, but it was open. However, the only thing that fell from it was a small red notebook. She grabbed it and noticed how it was already open as well. Curiosity took the best of her and she decided to take a peek. She noticed how every new entry was dated and they all started in one simple way "April…" It wasn't just a notebook or a journal. It was a collection of letters her son had written to his girlfriend. She never took him for a writer, but as she read his words, she felt more and more impressed by their simplicity, honesty and beauty.

"April…" Catherine read. "I look at you and I feel it. Love. It's a feeling I've never felt before and it terrifies me. It terrifies me, because since I met you, I no longer feel normal. I'm losing my mind and the reason is you. "

AN:

I'm sorry about this chapter, but I needed it to happen. I'm sorry and I don't think it's that well written anyways. Soon we'll see April's point of view.
