Fairy Tail: A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Chapter 20: "The Play."
Magnolia. The Fairy Tail guild hall's main room. Laxus was sitting next to his bride, Mirjane, and in front of them was Natsu and Lucy, and Gray and Juvia, all of whom were married earlier in a triple wedding. They sat patiently, waiting to watch the tragic comedy, "Pyramus and Thisbe" played by local townspeople.
Eventually, a short, old man walked to the center of the stage, "Ladies and gentleme," he began, "I'm sure this play will have you wonder a few things, so let me explain. This is Pyramus," he said, pointing to Jellal Fernandes, "And this is Thisbe." he pointed to a man in make-up and a dress. "The man covered in plaster represents a wall," he said as a man in a large, rectangular costume that was lacking eyeholes, "and through the wall, our heroes spoke." Just then, a man in a round, misshapen ball on his head (also without eyeholes) came stumbling on to the stage. "This man represents the moon," the old man said, "You know the cliché of two lovers meeting in moonlight?" the old man asked before answering his own question, "Well, our lovers did just that." he said, as a young man with straw taped to his face walked on stage., "And as Thisbe went to the place of meeting, she saw a lion and ran." the old man continued to narrate as the man playing Thisbe tripped and fell on his face on his way off stage, "As she ran, her cloak fell to the ground, which the bloody toothed lion began to chew, leaving stains. Along came Pyramus, who finds his lover's bloody cloak. Believing his one true love to be gone forever, drew his sword and committed suicide." the old man continued as Jellal drew a wooden sword and pretended to stab himself. "And poor Thisbe came out of the bush in which she was hiding, found her love's body, took his dagger and killed herself." the old man concluded the story as the man in drag pretended to stab himself with a wooden dagger.
As the actors lie on the stage floor, the newlyweds could only stare in awe at the abomination of a play that just took place. "That was, without a doubt, the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life." Mirajane whispered into Laxus' ear. "It wasn't that bad. And besides, I'm sure the lion and the moon buried the dead lovers." Laxus replied" The wall too…" Gray mumbled. "Fret not!" Jellal said louder than he intended, "The wall has been broken down. Would you like to see the epilogue?"
"NO!" Laxus barked before clearing his throat, "I mean, no thank you. There's not much left to see when the main characters are dead." Just then, the bells of the cathedral began to ring. "Midnight." Laxus said, "Let's got to bed everyone. It's been a long night and I'm afraid we might sleep in."
"TIME FOR THE HONEYMOON!" Natsu yelled as he grabbed Lucy and ran towards their bedroom as Lucy begged him to put her down. "Carry me, Gray-sama!" Juvia said as she jumped towards Gray who dodged on reflex, causing Juvia to fall on the ground. "Sorry." Gray said as he picked up his wife and left. "Idiots." Laxus said with an annoyed look on his face. He looked at Mirajane for a moment and began to blush and hold out his arms, still with an annoyed look as Mira wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped into his arms to be carried into their new lives together.
