Hey guys! Okay so firstly I owe you all a massive apology. I haven't updated in so long and I'm really sorry. Life has been busy and honestly I had no idea for a long time as to where I was going to be taking the story. Writers block really sucks. I'm still mapping this out so if any of you have an idea as to what should happen or if there's anything you would like to see please don't hesitate in telling me. I'm hoping to update a little more regularly. I'm so sorry that it has taken me this long to update. Not a lot happens in this chapter and its kind of a filler, theres also no dramione in this too but we'll get some of that soon! Hope you guys enjoy it, and as always I don't own any of this.
The next morning Amara woke up to Pig pecking at her window. She took the letter from him and gave him a treat.
Hey Mione,
We had lots of fun at the ball. Ron and me are free today if you want to spend the day together? We can be round in like an hour or so. Let me know as soon as possible Mione.
Love Harry
Amara smiled at the letter, she quickly penned back a note saying that they could floo into the small reception room outside her bedroom in an hour. She tied the letter back to Pig's leg and sent him on his way. Amara quickly ran to the shower so that she could be ready for when the boys got here.
She had just finished drying her hair when she heard the floo, and went to go hug her best friends.
'Harry! Ron! Oh, I'm so glad that you could make it today.' Amara beamed at them. They both hugged her back and then the trio headed off to the gardens so they could spend the day by the lake.
The three were lounging by the lake when they saw Blaise and Draco fly above them on their brooms. Amara gasped and quickly sat up.
"Guys… I've got something to tell you. Last night, well last night Draco, um he asked me to be his girlfriend and well, I, uh, said yes." Amara finally managed to get out. Harry and Ron looked at each other then looked at her and then laughed out loud.
"What? Guys I'm not joking, I'm actually going out with him."
Amara's face started to go red and her hair was doing the frizz thing that it always did. Mount Hermione was about to explode. It also didn't help that boys were now clutching their stomachs and laughing even harder. Amara continued to glare at them, arms folded over her chest and not impressed. Eventually the boys calmed down and seemed to have sobered up when they saw the look of hurt on her face.
"Aw Mione, we believe you, Merlin even I'd managed to figure out that you had a thing for the ferret." Ron said trying to appease her.
"Yeah, Hermione, we just, it's just funny, not like in a bad way but oh Merlin, now you'll be Mrs Ferret. We didn't mean to laugh so much, it's just we spent so long hating him and now you're all in love with him." Harry smiled sheepishly.
"You two are so stupid. Firstly Harry, I'm not in love with him, I just really like him. And secondly can you both stop referring to him as ferret; he hates that. And lastly I'm not Mrs Ferret, call me that again and I'll hex you both." Amara smirked.
"Okay, okay. We're sorry Mione, we really are." The both smiled at her then launched themselves at her and hugged her till she forgave them.
While Ron had gone into the house to go into the loo, Amara turned to Harry looking rather serious.
"Harry, I, um, something has been bothering me lately, and I.."
"What's wrong Mione, you know you can tell me."
"Thanks Harry. So I legally changed my name a while ago and now I'm not so sure it was right to give up Hermione so quickly, that's who I've always been, and I'm always going to be her. I think I got caught up in trying to fit in with my new family and now I'm too scared to talk to it about them. Like I want to keep Amara as my first name but I don't want to give up Hermione either. I'm always going to be Hermione. Oh Harry, I don't know what to do, it's like everything about me has changed but I'm still trying to be me." Amara hugged Harry and started crying.
Harry rubbed her back as she cried. "Hey Mione, it's gonna be okay. You're still the same Hermione and you always will be. You look different but the same all at once, its hard to describe but you can still see the same Hermione. And about your name, if you want to keep Amara that's fine, have Hermione as your middle name. Talk to the Zabini's about it, they'll listen to you and they wont be mad, I promise. Maybe you could talk to your other parents too, get some advice from them." Amara hugged him harder.
"Oh thank you Harry, you always know what to say." Amara was wiping her tears away as Ron came running back. The three then sat together and discussed what Amara was going to do about her name situation and life in general and as Amara lay there listening to the boys talk about chess she realised one thing, this, her friendship with these two amazing boys would never change.
So? What did you guys think? Let me know and hopefully I have another chapter out very soon xx
