Episode XX: Mysterious Monsters
We see SSC Crash and CZA Crash walking, without any weapons, or anything to help them survive.
"You think.. we'll be able to make it out of here?" CZA Crash asked.
Before SSC Crash could answer, they heard a growl. It sent a chill down their spines. It was a growl of a predator near by. They both knew it could mean trouble, but was it something that even SSC Crash can even handle? That was something that was uncertain.
They found a building that was damaged, but the door looked okay. So, they went in the building with caution. Expecting something to pounce at them at any moment. Then, they found another note.
SSC Crash read the following:
'October 29th 2009, our occupiers have worked us hard for months. But it already feels like it's been over a year. The pain and anguish of being forced to work hard was more than anybody can bare. There have been several attempts to rebel, but it was in vein. Anyone who rebelled was executed. I haven't seen such hope being crushed. It's either work without remorse or death. I would choose death, but I decided not to. Because of my friend, Renamon. She disappeared sometime ago. But I know she's out there somewhere outside of this prison. I need to get out of the hellhole to find her. But how?'
"Sounds like he's got his eyes on someone" CZA Crash said.
SSC Crash just stared at the note for a few moments then put it away. They searched drawers, broken desks, chairs, everything they could to find to see if there's something they could find to eat and maybe find out some more clues on what happened to the town.
Meanwhile, a dark figure looking down at the town.
"Looks like your brother has coincidentally came here for his impending doom" the dark figure said.
"He'll come. And he's going to kick your ass!" Coco said.
"We'll see. Not many survived on what lingers in the town" the dark figure said stepping into the light, revealing it's Impmon.
Back with the Crashes, they found some stuff and went through what they have.
"Let's see what we have. A stick, oil, some matches, canned beans, an empty folder that we can store the notes in and... I think this might be cat food" CZA Crash said holding a small can with no label on it.
SSC Crash then took the can and stuffed it in a bag.
"Come on. Let's go and see if there's anything else we need and see if there's a way out of here" SSC Crash said.
SSC Crash peaked out to see if there was anything at all, then walked out in the middle of the road. Then CZA Crash casually walked out and caught up to SSC Crash. Then they heard footsteps and a gentle roar. The two quickly ducked behind a car. As the steps got louder, they were both waiting to see what it was. Then, they spotted a grunt from Amnesia. The grunt walked passed and never saw them.
"The fuck was that thing?" CZA Crash whispered in a disturbed tone.
"No idea" SSC Crash whispered.
With both being clueless on what they saw, they both continued on anyways.
Elsewhere, the rest of the gang were walking in the Nintendo World. Tigress and Po are seen carrying SSC Crunch. Fox holds his cut off arm now wrapped in bandages while Krystal comforts him. And the rest, with bandages on the serious wounds, were just following.
"So, how did you guys manage to keep out of sight from Specter?" Link asked.
"We're Kung Fu warriors. It's in our training to be stealthy" Tigress said.
"So, where are we going now?" Peach asked.
"We're going to the space station" Tigress said.
"What about the rest of the places here?" Fox asked.
"Don't worry. We've already inspired them to rebel" Tigress said.
They looked over and saw a group of characters holding signs that said "Fight for Freedom" on them.
"Huh.. I was wondering what that chanting was" Fox said.
Tigress looks up in the sky, it's almost night time.
"It's getting late, we should set up camp" Tigress said.
"Oh! Finally! That guy is heavy" Po said.
"Wait.. wouldn't it make more sense to travel during the night than in the day?" Link asked.
"What for? These lands are free from Specter's power. Besides, the only section left if the Pokemon section and they're already trying to free them" Tigress said.
"Huh.. So, I guess you started about the same time we got here" Pikachu said.
"I guess so" Tigress said.
She then reached into her pocket and pulled out some fruit.
"Here. You'll need to eat up before you leave tomorrow" Tigress said as she passed them out.
They started eating as they got the fruit.
"But, what about you guys?" Female Lucario asked.
"We'll be fine. Now, get some sleep as soon as you can. You'll need it" Tigress said.
Back with the Crashes, SSC Crash and CZA Crash are seen walking around.
"Man, I cannot place on what brought such a terrible fate to this town" SSC Crash said.
"You're telling me. There's not even a working TV" CZA Crash said.
SSC Crash bonked CZA Crash on the head.
"Focus!" SSC Crash said strictly.
"Okay, okay. Geez" CZA Crash said rubbing his head.
Then they spotted another note.
"Another one? Huh.. this one is a little more recent" SSC Crash said.
"What does it say?" CZA Crash said.
'Sometime near the end of 2012. I've been loosing track of time as the days went on. First, the invaders decided not to supervise us anymore for some reason. Then they started working on a sort of dome-like thing around the town. After they were done, they fogged the place for whatever reason. A little later, some people started to act strange. They talk of horrifying creatures and demons coming after them. I witnessed one of them commit suicide today. It was horrifying. What could be in this fog that could lead someone to end their own lives? Is there actually something horrifying in the fog? Or is it something else? I'm not sure, but, as far as I know, all the people who died have committed suicide. Nothing else about of monsters or whatever laying hands on them. I should know since I'm a monster myself. But the fear in their eyes is so real. If only I could see what they see. Then I'd understand. But, for now, I'm just hoping for dear life that nobody I know will fall into this madness'
"Hmm. People acting strange after the fog? Interesting" SSC Crash said.
"You think this fog was the cause of all these people going insane?" CZA Crash asked.
"I don't know. The note said that all of the people that this person.. or monster.. saw die committed suicide. I'm not sure of it's something bigger.. or.. the answer is so simple that it could be right in front of us" SSC Crash said.
In a building close by, a dark figure looks down at them.
SSC Crash and CZA Crash continue to walk around. Then a phone rings. They stared at each other. Then they followed the ringing. Soon enough, they found the phone and SSC Crash picks it up.
"Hello?" SSC Crash asked.
"Hello, Swordmaster. I knew you'd come someday. Just didn't think it was this late" the voice said.
"Are you a survivor?" SSC Crash asked.
"Yes. And sadly.. the only one left" the voice said.
"Who are you?" SSC Crash asked.
"It doesn't matter now. Once you reach to where I am I'll fill you in. Go to the building across the street. The entrance is blocked so you'll have to find another way in. I have to go now. I'll see you when you get here" the voice said.
Then the connection cuts and SSC Crash hangs up.
"Well, it looks like we're going to find out more soon, Crash" SSC Crash said, but as he turned around, he was gone.
"Crash? Where did you go?" SSC Crash said.
CZA Crash then let out a scream. Then SSC Crash hurried towards the sound.
He opens the door to find CZA Crash on the floor shaking with fear in his eyes.
"What happened?" SSC Crash asked.
"It's.. it's.. something I've never seen before... So.. demonic.. so.. evil... no words can describe what I saw" CZA Crash said as he panted and continued to shake.
"Ok. Just tell yourself it's not real. Okay? Now, I'm sure what you saw was an illusion of some kind" SSC Crash said.
"It felt too real. Like.. it makes life itself seem like a simulator it was so real. I.. I can't even put it in words.. you got to help me!" CZA Crash begged.
"I'm.. I'm trying to. Just.. try to stay calm. There's a survivor here. He can help us. Now, come on. We've got to keep moving" SSC Crash said as he helped CZA Crash up.
Meanwhile, back with Julia and Female Spyro, Female Spyro has her claw over her mouth with tears dripping down her cheeks in concern for CZA Crash.
Julia is concerned for SSC Crash that he might end up with the similar fate as well as being concerned for Female Spyro's lover.
"Ooh the suspense. I can't wait to see what happens next" Specter said.
"You bastard! If you kill my Crash, I'll murder you!" Female Spyro yelled.
"Don't worry. This is only the beginning. Just wait until he keeps having them. That's when the show will truly begin" Specter said.
Female Spyro looks back at the screen in the hopes that both SSC Crash and CZA Crash will make it out okay.
