Chapter twenty: The Plan to Escape
"All we need to do is think of a plan on getting to Nome," Sandy explained. Dom sighed in frustration, "and just how do you plan on getting there?" Dom asked. Nick and bird looked at each other. "Well... Why don't we take the tunnel out there?" Sandy asked. Dom shook his head. "No, no, no, it's too dangerous to be walking through the that tunnel," Dom protested. "Maybe she's right!" Nick spoke up. Dom turned to look at Nick in shock. "WHAT!? Are you crazy?" Dom said raising his voice a little. "Well... I think they both have a point," Bird said as he flew up and sat down next to Sandy. "I thought you said you didn't want to be out here?" Sandy asked Bird didn't make any eye contact with Sandy. "Well... It's our lives on the line so... We might as well just go with it," Bird answered. "Your all crazy you no that!" Dom said getting a little more angry.
"Dom you don't have to do it alone we will help you" Nick added. Dom shook his head and started walking in circles. "Fine we have a week to plan this out... So we better get plaining," Dom stated as he started walking back towards the old train yards. Sandy jumped down from the ledge that she was siting down in and followed Dom towards the train yards Bird and Nick did the same and followed. Not long after that they made their way to the tunnel and stop at the entrance. "Are we ready to do this?" Dom asked. The group looked at each other and nodded. "Alright then... No turning back alright?" Dom asked. Everyone nodded in response as Dom took the first step into the tunnel.
"It sure is dark in here..." Bird said as rides on Sandy's back. "No Bird it's supposed light in here..." Nick said with a laugh. "Smart ass," Dom added. The group made their way through the tunnel in one piece and now at the bottom of the mountain. "Wow that was fast," Sandy said looking behind her at the tunnel. "Yeah that was fast. We should take that tunnel more often," Nick said with a smile. "I sure hope not... Because after this I'm never ever going to be needing bones again. Dom said as he continued down the main road. After hours and hours of walking, they made it to the town of Nome, Alaska. "Here it is," Sandy said Nick and Dom yawned as the sun started to rise. "Tired?" Sandy asked. "Very," Dom replied. Nick and Dom looked at each other. "Maybe we should find somewhere to rest," Bird asked. "Good idea," Sandy said as she took the lead. "Come on I know a place. My sister tells me all about," Sandy said as she led the way. Dom and Nick followed Sandy to an old theater that was empty for a few years. "Here we are," Sandy said and she broke through a small hole in the wall.
"Selena told you about this place?" Dom asked. Sandy chuckled. "Yep on most of her stealing heists. She would come here and hide out," Sandy said with a smile. Dom and Nick started smelling around the area. "No power?" Dom asked. Sandy looked at Dom. "Well... Selena said something about a switch somewhere in here for the power," Sandy explained. Dom nodded. "Well we better get to it," Bird added.
The group of four the searched around the room looking for a light switch. "Hey, Sandy!" Dom called out her name. "Yeah?" Sandy asked. Before Dom could speak he bumped into a chair. "Ouch. Aren't cats supposed to have good night vision?" Dom asked. Sandy laughed, "Yep, why do you think we can do more than dogs can," Sandy said with another laugh. Bird flew around the room trying to find the light switch. "I think o found it," Bird pointed out. "Then turn it on!" Dom added. Bird pull the light switch up turning on the power. "Here we go," Nick said with a smile. "Yeah great. Now what do we do?" Dom asked as he laid down.
Sandy then jumped on to a box and sat down. "Well I think we need to make a plan of action on what we're going to do to," Sandy explained. Dom nodded. Bird sat down next to Sandy while Nick sat next to Dom. "Well look what the cat dragged in," said a female voice from the entrance. The group of four then looked towards the entrance. "Selena?" Sandy said standing up, Selena chuckled as she walked towards to her sister. "I was wonder why the lights were on in here," Selena said jumping on the same box that Sandy was sitting on. Selena then looked at Dom and scanned him. "Sister haven't I told you? Never hang with the mutts?" Selena said eyeing her sister. Dom then growled at Selena, "Watch it cat or you'll be sorry," Dom said now showing teeth, "An anger doggie I see well then..." Selena said wiggling her tail. Dom was about to explode and make the world stand still. "Selena don't he's not in the mood," Sandy said softly.
Selena chuckled with a smile as she turned around and saw Bird sitting behind Sandy. "Oh and you brought me a snack how thoughtful," Selena said moving a little closer to Bird. "Don't you dare!" Sandy said getting in front of Selena. "Sister your no fun at all," Selena said now backing off. "What are you even doing out here?" Selena asked. Sandy twitched her ears. "Well you see..." Sandy began. After explaining everything that has happened to the group, Selena started laughing and rolling around. "It's not funny Selena," Sandy said getting a little frustrated. "Of course it is. Your always the one who opens your mouth!" Selena said continuing to laugh. Bird had enough of this nonsense that Selena thought was a joke. "Listen up you big bully this isn't a joke. We're in trouble and all you can do is laugh!" Bird shouted throwing his wings in the air. Selena was shocked by the way her so called "Snack" was talking back to her.
Selena stood up and and looked at her sister. "Well... I hate when food talks back I think I'll see you later," Selena said as she walked passed Sandy. "Good riddance," Dom said watching her leave. "I thought she was funny," Nick added. Bird shook his head and crossed his wings. "Selena wait!" Sandy spoke up. The rest of the group was shocked that she called her name again. "What are you doing?" Dom asked. Selena stopped and turned and looked at her sister. Sandy then looked at Dom and nodded. "Just trust me," Sandy replied as she jumped off the box and walked over to her sister. "We might need your help on things," Sandy said. Selena shook her head with a smile. "Of course you do. What do you need?" Selena asked. Sandy was surprised that Selena was up and open for the help. "We need a plan to escape," Sandy said sitting down. Selena nodded as she thought of something. "I think I plan that might work for you," Selena said as her and Sandy walked back over to the group.
"Alright let's hear it..." the group of four all said at the same time.
