Kensi was enjoying her day at the beach. She was wearing a little bikini and was stretched out on a blanket soaking up the sun. She sighed when a shadow fell over her. Opening her eyes she was shocked to see Jack standing over her.
"Hi Kensi."
"Jack."
"How have you been?"
"Just great." Kensi sat up now and grabbed for her cover up pulling it on. Jack frowned and sat down next to her.
"You don't have to cover up for me."
"Yes I do."
"Kensi I'm sorry it took so long for me to come back."
"I'm not."
"Kensi please listen to me. I want to try again. I want to go back to how it was before."
"Well I don't." snapped Kensi. "Your leaving was a freeing moment for me."
"Kensi please?"
"No you have no right to a second chance." Kensi pulled the wrap tighter around her body. It was then that Jack noticed the rings on her left hand.
"You got married?" Jack couldn't take his eyes off her hand.
"Yes."
"I heard you were dating some cop."
"We got married two years ago."
"How long did you know him?"
"A year before the wedding."
"Talk about rushing things." Jack was not happy.
"Jack you need to leave now."
"No I want my second chance."
"Well I don't. Did you really think I'd come running back to you, that I was so broken without you, that you were the only good thing I'd ever have in my life." Kensi was standing now yelling at him.
"Well you were dead wrong."
Jack stood. "Kensi look I said I was sorry. I love you."
"Well I don't love you." Kensi looked past Jack to where Deeks was holding their six month old son. "This is who I love." Said Kensi pushing past Jack to stand next to Deeks. "This is my husband Marty and our son Donny. They are who I love."
Deeks wrapped his arm around Kensi and she took Donny from his arms. The little boy had his daddy's looks, blond hair and big blue eyes. He looked up at his mother and gave a little baby giggle.
"Kensi I really am sorry that I hurt you that I left."
"Well I'm not sorry. Your leaving was the best thing you ever did for me. Now leave before my husband kicks your ass all over this beach."
Deeks just grinned down at his family then gave Jack a glare. Jack took a deep breath and tossed his arms up in the air.
"Fine I'll go." Jack started walking away. He stopped at one point and turned around to take a last look at what could have been his. Kensi and Deeks were on the blanket showing their son how to build a sand castle. Kensi was laughing and smiling at them and leaned in to kiss Deeks.
Kensi was just fine without him. Hell Jack had never seen her so happy. She never smiled like that at him and she had told him many times she didn't want kids. Taking one last look Jack turned and walked away. Behind him he heard Kensi laughing.
She was stronger because he left because she found him.
