Part of the Family
They were asleep when James invaded the house through Carrie's old bedroom. If they weren't dreaming Xipe and Angelique would have been on him the minute he came in without consent. In the old days a vampire would have needed an invitation not from a human but from a Cenobite. Before Rome was an Empire and Cenobites could walk freely humans would often ask permission to their demon masters if they invite the undead in. Necrophilia wasn't uncommon but vampires were rarely invited because they were mainly known to steal their valuables meaning slaves, lovers, and human wives if a vampire dropped by often. Once the Cenobites had to go into hiding after so many wars the vampires have slowly forgotten their traditional roles to completely abandoning them all together. That forgetfulness was James's last.
While James was breaking and entering Xipe and Angelique were dreaming they were in the Labyrinth, they weren't alone. "Why isn't it my favorite children," said Leviathan coming out of the dark, his wife's arm linked around her husband's. The diamond hummed behind them like a foreboding presence.
"May I ask why we're here, my Lord?" said Xipe, his mouth feeling suddenly dry. He felt he was standing in the face of judgment. Gripping of her would be husband's arm Angelique had an very similar feeling. No word was said yet, the only sound in the Labyrinth was the humming of the diamond. It was as if Hell was holding it's breath.
"We are here to prevent a war, a war your former wife almost started," said Leviathan, the way his God mentioned his ex he saw a brief fire in his eyes. Oh God, what has she done? "What kind of war?" he asked his heart beating like a drum in his chest. Let Kirsty start a war, any kind of war then the one he was thinking about. He might not have been in the times were Cenobites and vampires were at war with each other constantly but he has heard, even seen the tales the Old Ones told about the wars they've fought and the tragedy of their children slaughtered before them.
Leviathan stared at Xipe, his face unreadable. "You know very well which one, my son." Indeed he did know which one and he never felt more scared for his son's life. "Oh no….we…we need to go get him! Right now!" he said feeling the panic take him like a vicious storm but thankfully it was only for a second. "I'm right here, Dad," said Danny, Xipe turned around quickly seeing his son standing behind him with the imposter. As horrifying as he looked, being a parent he did what any father would do. "Oh thank God, Daniel!" he said holding his son as if he was about to blow away. Angelique joined a second later.
The Imposter stared at the family, feeling triumphant and joy at the same time. Joy her parents were together, triumphant that Kirsty and James were about to meet their end. Closing her eyes briefly she could feel the hunger of her brood and of their anticipation to eat the intruder. James was in the hallway walking into Danny's room. The imposter Carrie was under the bed licking her lips like a hungry dog. We hungry, eat now!
Be patient my darlings, we'll have him soon, reassured Regan. She opened her eyes when she felt the presence of others coming. Carrie, Christine, Frank, Izabella, Chatter and last but not least the real Noel. Xipe and Angelique recognized all but one. The beautiful girl in white was standing next to Chatterer, she looked like an angel.
"Who are you?" he asked wondering if she came from the heavens above. The girl gulped then slowly gave out her name. "It's Noel….that girl right there is an imposter." Xipe wanted to say something until he heard an evil laugh. "Oh right you are, Noel. Right you are," said Regan by his side. The body of Noel lie still on the ground. For a moment he thought she was dead till he saw her get up, Noel's Soul was back were she belonged.
"Daddy, I had a bad….." she was silent once she stared up at the man with the pins. She would have stayed terrified if she didn't look away from his eyes to his dress attire. Suddenly the fear was replaced by puzzlement. "Are you a boy or a girl?" she asked not wanting to look up at the man with the pins. She heard him chuckle at the comment, it turned from monster to human. He knelt down to her level, his hand under her chin and saw he was human again. "The last time I checked I'm defiantly a boy." Noel smiled but didn't laugh, a thought came to her a really scary one, much more scary then the pinned monster.
"Are you my real Daddy?" she asked, Xipe had been wanting not to answer that question but eventually it had to happen. The problem was how was he going to tell her? Before Xipe could say anything he was interrupted by God, "Yes, he is and so is Angelique. All you have to do is stand between your parents and hold their hands," said Leviathan only when they looked up at God he looked human along with his wife. Chatterer was also human again as well, it was all in behalf of Noel. Once Noel stood between her would be real parents Leviathan turned to Danny. "As for you Danny you should hold hands with your mother." Once they were holding hands electricity began to fill the air with light glowing from the parents unto the children. The light was killing off the genes from Kirsty's children quickly replacing the genetics with Angelique on both Danny and Noel. The same thing happened with Xipe destroying James and making Noel his biological daughter.
Once Noel and Danny were fully their children Regan announced to her brood to eat and Kirsty was just in time for dinner.
