Ch. 20: Breakfast and A Father's Advice

written 5/9/18

Upon reaching the late stage of her pregnancy, Lygia was having mood swings and cravings. She woke up to see her handsome mate sleeping beside her. Usually she

would've let him longer, but she was experiencing one of her cravings. She started shaking him awake. "Marcus, Marcus, wake up!" she said. Marcus looked up at his

mate with his eyes only halfway open. "What is it, meu amore?" he replied in a groggy voice which was followed by a yawn. "I'm hungry!" exclaimed Lygia. "Get me

something to eat!" Marcus jumped up and was very taken aback by rudeness and her tone. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, where did that come from?!" asked Marcus in shock.

Lygia suddenly started to cry. "I'm sorry meu amore, I guess that's just the hormones." she cried. "I'm really sorry!" Marcus pulled Lygia into a hug and let her cry

into his chest. "There, there, it's okay my lovely Lygia." he said as he patted her on the back. "I'm sorry too." He brought her back up to look at her. "It's alright." he

said before giving her a kiss. "Don't worry, I'll get you something to eat and be back as fast as I can." "Thank you, meu amore." she said kissing him back. With that

Marcus took off to get the two of them some lunch.

At Dimas and Pearl's hollow, the two of them had just woken up as well. "Morning my delightful Dimas." said Pearl. "Good morning to you too my precious Pearl."

replied Dimas. "How did you sleep?" "Like a rock." answered Pearl. "What about you?" "Wonderfully, like I was on cloud nine." said Dimas. "That's great." said Pearl.

"Would you like some breakfast?" asked Dimas. "That would be lovely." answered Pearl. "I'd love to have a mango." "Alright, I'll be back with two mangos for us."

Then he flew out of the hollow.

Dimas arrived at the mango tree and began to look for the right mango for Pearl and himself when he heard someone on the other side crying. It was Marcus. Dimas

flew over to see what was going on. "Hey, what's the matter son?" he asked as he touched down next to Marcus. "Oh, it's Lygia." said Marcus. "What's wrong with

her?" inquired his Father. "Well since she's in the late stage of her pregnancy she's gotten so moody and has had so many intense cravings." replied Marcus. "Is that

normal and if so what do I do?" "Well son I'm gonna tell you what Grandpa Blu told me when I asked him about this stuff." explained Dimas. "You just have to deal

with it and cater to her needs intensely until her pregnancy ends and she lays her eggs." "Didn't Mom drive you insane with that?" asked Marcus. "You bet." replied

Dimas. "But I had to deal with it regardless and put my feelings about it aside." Marcus looked down sadly, but then his Father brought him back up to look him in the

eye. "You know what though son, this pain like your mate's pain when she lays the eggs will all be worth it when the eggs hatch and the two of you have chicks of

your own." stated Dimas. "Just do what she wants when she wants it done and you'll be able to pull through." "Thanks Dad." said Marcus. "Before I leave is there any

other advice you can give me?" "Yes, and this advice is from Grandpa Blu's friend Rafeal which I still use with your Mother to this day." said Dimas. "What is it?"

asked Marcus. "Happy wife, happy life." answered Dimas. "Essentially you take good care of your mate and things will become better for both of you." "Alright Dad

thanks again." said Marcus. With that the two birds took two mangos for them and their mates' breakfast and flew back home.

Sooo Sorry for not updating for almost a year!

Work has been hectic and I've still been having writer's block.

About 1-3 more chapters then I'll try to do more fanfiction, but I'm not sure if it'll still be on Rio.
