"Things appear to be coming along fine…" the doctor smiled, at the young woman seated across from her.

"So the baby's alright?" Fawks asked anxiously as Iru patted her shoulder.

"Babies is right, there's more then one heartbeat…"

Fawks eyes widened, "Twins?!"

"Inu-youkai do have large litters" the doctor shrugged.

"Speaking of Inu-youkai, have you told Sessho-maru yet?" Iru began.

Fawks looked away, "…not yet…"

"The two of you are on speaking terms, are you not?"

"Yes…"

"Then why have you not told him you are expecting his child…children?"

"Because…things are going so well…"

"Fawkeisha…" Iru sighed.

"Look, I'll tell him soon…! I just…need a little more time…"

"Well time's something you're running out of, Hidenori-san" The doctor cut in, "The puppies are gonna be born in another few weeks…"

Fawks sighed, "I'll…figure something out…"

Sessho-maru glared at his phone, displeased with the otherwise useful piece of technology. It had been the third time in five minutes he had taken it out, making sure that he didn't somehow miss Fawks' call. But it had already been three days without a word from her and he was unsure if he should be worried or furious.

Things had been going so well the past few months. She would call him every morning and they'd talk until he had to leave for work. If he were being truly honest with himself, there were signs that something was amiss, she would seem nervous when he talked to her, like she was worried about something. But whenever he asked she would just say she was tired, it was night where she was after all.

True, he could contact her but he didn't want to scare her away again. In the end he was irritated.

"Taiyo-san…" his secretary chirped over the intercom.

"Hn?"

"There is an Iru here to see you"

Sessho-maru sat up straighter.

Fawkeisha's ancestor had come to him?

Had something truly happened to her?

"Send him in"

As Iru stepped through the door, Sessho-maru noted that he was just as intimidating as he remembered. The fire demon crossed the room, seating himself in the chair before his desk, his blazing eyes sizing up Sessho-maru.

"We need to talk, it's about Fawkeisha…"

Fawks was jerked awake by the vibrating of her phone in her pocket. She had been feeling crummy all day and had decided to spend it vegetating on the couch. Her aunt and cousins had fussed about leaving her alone but she had promised them she was fine and just needed a day to rest. After finding out she was to have twins, her aunt, cousin Moira and Marquis took her baby shopping.

The experience was altogether draining.

Fawks sat up with a groan, shutting off the television, she finally answered her incessantly ringing phone

"…Hello…?" she asked drowsily.

"Come outside"

Sessho-maru's voice jolted her fully awake. His voice was raw, irritated and annoyed, she could probably attribute that to the fact that she hadn't spoken to him in three days. Truthfully, she had been trying to figure out how to tell him about her pregnancy, needless to say, she was having a hard time finding the right words.

Wait, did he say outside?

Fawks groaned as she pushed herself up off the couch going over the window and pulling aside the shade.

Sure enough, there was a very pissed off dog demon standing on the front porch attracting the attention of the neighbors. Pulling on her thickest most concealing sweatshirt, she rushed to the door.

"What are you doing here?!" Fawks gasped, suddenly breathless. She didn't have time to react as he pulled her to him, slipping a hand up under her shirt, firmly cupping her swollen belly. Sessho-maru growled, his hard golden eyes bore into hers stealing her voice.

"Why did you not tell me?" his voice was a feral snarl. Fawks looked away, all the explanations she had come up with suddenly failing her.

"Yo, Fawkeisha…."

She pulled out of Sessho-maru's arms, glancing at her very muscular, very angry looking neighbor across the street.

"There a problem?"

"No, Darrel we're fine" Fawks smiled back, pulling Sessho-maru back toward the front door. She glanced momentarily at the Jaguar parked in at the curb, "Could you just make sure his car doesn't get stolen?"

The man nodded once as Fawks shut the door behind them.

"Answer me, why did you not tell me you were pregnant?!" Sessho-maru growled. She wouldn't turn around, wouldn't look at him, "…how…?"

"I had to learn the truth from Iru-sama"

Fawks leaned her forehead against the worn wood, caught between rage towards her ancestor and rage towards herself. If she had just told him when she found out, this wouldn't be happening, he wouldn't be so furious with her now.

"How long did you think you could hide from me? Did you honestly believe I would never track you down?"

"…I…didn't know how…"

Sessho-maru raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't know…how to tell you…" she whimpered, "I didn't want…I didn't want you to resent me, to feel like you had to take care of me because I was pregnant…"

It felt like an eternity before he spoke and his response was a sigh. Fawks shut her eyes against the tears, this was it, the end. They were over before they even started.

"Fawks-chan…" he said softly, he was so much closer then before, "Look at me, koi"

Fawks turned, chancing a glance at his face, he didn't seem angry with her, just mildly annoyed.

"You don't seem to understand the power you hold over me"

Fawks blinked at him and he pulled her into his arms.

"I am a slave to your whims, I've utterly and completely lost myself to you" Sessho-maru sighed, his hand caressing the bulge beneath her sweatshirt. "You having my pup…makes me happy beyond reason…"

"Pups" Fawks corrected. He pulled back to look at her.

"There are two" she smiled. Sessho-maru gave pleased growl, pulling her in for a kiss, Fawks moaned softly, melting under the gentle stroke of his tongue.

"What the hell?!"

Fawks jumped back, glancing guiltily at her uncle Samuel as he and her aunt and cousins came through the door.

"I…didn't think you'd be home so soon…" she began.

"Mayula from across the way called, somethin' about the Yakuza holding you hostage…" Byron began, crossing his arms over his broad chest. Fawks instinctually stepped between Sessho-maru and her intimidating cousin.

"Fawkeisha…who…" Moira began.

"Who the hell is this?!" Samuel snapped.

"Just Fawks' baby daddy" Marquis shrugged, going into the kitchen to put down the bags in his arms, "You two made up?"

"…yeah…"

"Good" Marquis nodded, "He stayin' for dinner? We're having Crawfish Ettoufee"
