After dinner, Adam looked at her as they were cleaning up. "It went well." He said to her. "Everyone is supportive."
"Yeah. I'm really glad. I think that's going to make this whole thing easier."
"I agree." He said to her. "So, when are you going to talk to the counselor at the school about changing?"
"Tomorrow. I have to see what classes I have to take."
Adam nodded. "So what name are you going to get put on your diploma? You going with the standard Copeland or you gonna hyphenate it with Orton-Copeland?"
She looked at him. "What?" She asked.
"Once you agree to marry me, you'll have to decide what your name will be."
She looked at him again. "Are you asking me to marry you?"
He nodded. "Yeah I am. I mean I don't have a ring for you yet but...I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He looked at her. "So, will you marry me?"
She looked at him and smiled. "Of course I will marry you."
He smiled and looked at her. "You should really kiss me now." She smiled again and leaned in and kissed him. "Now that's a way to seal an engagement."
She laughed. "Yes, it is." She replied. "So, we have to tell everyone this now."
"We will but tomorrow we will go ring shopping and find you the perfect the ring."
She smiled at him and nodded. "How long have you been planning this?"
"Not too long." He smiled. " But I think maybe a few weeks."
She smiled. "I love you Adam."
"I love you too." He replied. "And I can't wait to make you my wife. But I want us to take time to plan it. I want you to have the wedding of your dreams."
"I don't need a big wedding because being married to you will be a dream come true."
He smiled and kissed her softly. "Then we can plan it together."
She nodded. "I would love that."
"Good. Then we need to decide on a date and a place."
"How about the day we met? Next year on the day we met."
She looked at him and smiled. "Then it's a date." She replied.
"Great." He replied with a smile of his own. "I can't wait. I just wish Ma were here to see this."
"I know you wish that." She said to him. "But she is here. In spirit and I'm sure she is very proud of you and Chris." He smiled sadly and nodded. "You know, now we have to tell my family were getting married."
"Your dad and Randy know. I asked their permission last week."
She smiled. "You asked their permission?" He nodded. "That's so sweet."
He smiled. "I'm glad you think so."
"It is." She smiled at him. "You are the sweetest man. I love you so much."
He smiled and kissed her. "I love you too. Now, we have so much to do. I want us to have a great wedding."
"The wedding doesn't matter so much as the life we will have together." She said looking at him. "And I know that's going to be awesome."
"Yes it will." He smiled and kissed her.
"I need you to something for me. I...don't even know how to ask this..."
He looked at her. "You can ask me anything. I would do anything for you."
She looked at him and took a deep breath. "Make love to me."
He looked at her. "Are you sure?" He asked. "Because I want to. I do. But I don't want to rush you. I would wait forever for you. So, I want you to be sure."
Ryleigh looked at him and nodded. "I need a good memory. A memory to replace what that bastard did to me."
He moved closer to her and leaned in and kissed her. "Then let's take this to the bedroom." She nodded and he grabbed her hand as they walked.
They walked into the bedroom and he kissed her passionately. His hands went to her shirt and he pulled it over her head. He looked at her. "If, at anytime, you want to stop, tell me."
She nodded and he leaned in and kissed her again. She helped him remove his clothes and he helped her remove the rest of hers. He took things slowly as he placed himself at her. He slowly slid inside her stilling for a minute to let her get use it.
"Are you okay?" He whispered softly.
"Yes." She said softly. "Don't stop."
He ran his hand over her cheek and kissed her gently. "I love you."
She looked up at him. "I love you too." He kept repeating that he loved her as they continued to make love. Being with him was wiping what happened with Justin away. She was making a new memory. One she wanted to make. She closed her eyes as they came together.
He leaned down and kissed her before pulling out and laying beside her. He looked over at her. "Are you okay?"
She looked over at him and smiled. "Yeah. I'm fine. That was amazing."
He smiled and kissed her again and pulled her to him. "I'm glad. I wanted this to be that for you."
"You made it everything I could ever want."
"Good." He said as he pulled her closer. "I'm so lucky to have you."
She looked at him. "I'm the lucky one. I'm lucky I found someone as great as you."
He smiled. "I don't know so much about that."
She smiled and kissed him. "Then let's agree that we are lucky to have each other."
He laughed. "It's a deal." He said pulled her to him and kissing her this time. He held her and ran his fingers through her hair until she fell asleep.
John looked at Katelyn as they sat in the living room. "So, it seems there are two weddings coming up."
"Yep." She smiled. "And I can't wait for either. I'm so proud of her and the way she's dealing with this."
"I can see why. She is really handling this well. And I know it's because she's a strong person."
"Yes, she is." She replied. "But she also has an amazing and strong support system."
"And that's a major deal." He replied.
"So, we have our wedding coming up. Christmas is just around the corner."
"I know and I figure you and Ryleigh can talk wedding plans in the morning."
"Yeah." She smiled and sent a quick text. She turned her attention to John once she had. "So, that's taken care of. Now let's enjoy this night together." She said as she leaned in and kissed him. After they made love, she fell asleep proud of her best friend and the way she was dealing with this horrible situation.
