Chapter 20
"He goes to the extreme a lot, doesn't he?"
From her room she watched the feed as the Champions were locked in for the match between Zaun and Piltover. Zaun selected Naruto, Viktor, Twitch, Janna, and Darius to represent them. Piltover selected Lux, Caitlyn, Jayce, Vi, and Jax to represent them. The match was almost an identical set up. Two inventors, two restricted fighters, two excellent marksmen, two powerful support Champions, and two power houses. If there was any difference between them it would come down to skill and timing.
Vi was impatient and would act without thinking. Viktor was still new and not a lot knew what he could do. Caitlyn would have more reach over Twitch, but he'd be more annoying with his poison. Janna and Lux both had a way of stopping and saving their teammates lives at a moment's notice. Real money was already being thrown down saying that it would all come down to Viktor, Naruto, or Jax to pull both teams through the match.
Because the match was a political one, it was being broadcast to everyone that had a monitor and was connected to a network capable of broadcasting the fight. People in Ionia watched around the only monitor capable of showing it inside the capital. In Piltover and Zaun it was shown on every television and every monitor in the city. Noxus and Demacia watched it from inside their respective military commands to determine the strength of the fighters in the League or to monitor their own Champions and ensure that they were fighting to the best of their City States standers.
For those that were at the Institute that wanted to watch it that were associated with the Champions selected for the match they had special viewing boxes that were reserved for leaders of a City State. Novice Summoners were given a special place inside the facility to watch and learn how the Elite Summoners controlled and aided their respective Champion in combat. While those that were not selected for the match that come to aid or represent their City State got their own booth as well, some, in this case Draven opted to sit in the box reserved for leaders. Or to put it in other terms, he was sitting with Karma, Irelia, Kohaku, Kennen, Ashe, and Katarina. All of which were sharing one booth and surprisingly not starting a political debate or battle.
Karma felt her eyes twitch in response to the sound of Draven's voice. To her it was like nails on a chalkboard. The man seemed too boastful for his own good. Katarina seemed to think so as well, as she tried to tune out his voice and advances on her form. "Naruto will do anything for a friend."
"So long as it's in the bonds of his morals," Katarina quipped quickly.
Eyeing the back of the redhead with contempt, Karma reluctantly agreed with a short, "Yes," that surely made Katarina smile. Taking her seat and watching as the Champions walked out from the Summoning platform, Karma felt her blood run cold. Naruto didn't look like he was pleased with the situation, nor did he look happy to be on the Fields of Justice once again. Usually he was happy to be here, fighting and dying like it was some sort of regular thing. It was a look that he gave those he was going to crush without mercy and without regret. Karma was sure that Naruto was going to fight harder than he ever did to ensure victory here. "Katarina," Karma said softly to her, "what was Naruto's last job with you?"
The redhead furrowed her brows together in thought. She faced the Duchess and propped herself on the table. "What's it to you?"
"Just answer the question."
She smiled. Formalities and niceties were gone. "I asked him to go to Shurima to retrieve someone for me that was captured."
"Before that."
Katarina narrowed her eyes. "What are you after? The last time we went on a job it was to interrogate someone that had information on a battle formation we had moving against them. I don't think I need to say who it was against, do i?" Karma could think of only two places they'd move against, so she nodded. "He cooperated in helping me get the information, but nothing else. Why? Curious about how I treat my favorite mercenary?" Draven looked turned on by the sultry in her voice. "Or perhaps you're worried that I've set him out to kill you~"
"Is that a threat?!" Irelia sprang to Karma's defense. "We can have you thrown out of here for more than one reason, you know. We allow this only…"
"Irelia," Karma's voice was stern and her eyes reflecting impatience. "Stand down." She looked ready to argue, but a quick glance from the Enlightened One put her back in her place. "Naruto has informed me multiple times of a bounty you've placed on my head. Perhaps it's not you directly or even Swain, but I am aware of a bounty that exists that is being paid for by Noxus High Command. So I won't bother with the details on that. What I want to know is why you keep sending a Noxian into my forests at night. If this keeps up, I will move forward against Noxus."
Irelia felt a cold shiver run down her spine. No one seemed to notice.
"What Noxian are you talking about?"
Karma's eyes danced over Katarina's form, and in that moment she knew Katarina wasn't lying. She didn't know. Karma waved the comment off and leaned forward as the match started. "We can discuss that at a later time." She pointed to the monitor. "The match has begun."

"What are you planning this time, Naruto?"
Naruto groaned as he ended the life of the red golem and began moving towards the next enemy camp. His Summoner today was more nosey than he needed to be. But it did help him pass the time as he cleared the camps. The monsters barely put up a fight. If they couldn't hit him then he was okay. If Jax was working in their jungle as well then it would be about even at this very moment. But they had Vi, so he wasn't sure which one was overworking their minion camps.
This all started because of Viktor losing out on his research and being shammed for it. I read his file. I know that his research was stolen from him. What he did to Jayce back then was wrong, but he was out of options. I only spoke for him because no one wanted to listen to him.
"And yet even knowing the truth you still seek to fight for him? For what purpose?"
You're in my head. Tell me why I'm fighting for him now? Silence greeted him. Naruto felt a chill run down his spine and he wanted to scream as the cold touch of the Summoner probed deeper into his mind. The probing came to an immediate halt and before any questions could form asked, Is this the first time you've used me?
"Yes… How can you possibly even consider going back to your world if your people treat you with such hate? You enjoy the hate and desire to prove them wrong. People can't change how they see another person."
Funny, Naruto grabbed the head of the creature he'd just killed and stared at it long and hard, I seem to remember someone telling me that before, and you know what, I changed him too.
"The man with the sword, Zabuza? No. You did not change him. He did not see you differently. He saw his student differently. That's how I see it."
Same thing…. Naruto returned to base to heal. Power rushed through him as he felt his Summoner connect deeper with him. Naruto flexed his hand and looked in the distance. Viktor was facing off against Jayce in middle. Twitch and Janna were having a hard time with Lux and Caitlyn at bottom. When he shifted his gaze to top he got his answer on who was in the jungle. Why would Vi be top to deal with Darius? Jax can easily handle Darius. Vi can't contend against him… Naruto let his Summoner think that one over. If that was their plan, then so be it. They could work around it.
Heading to aid his allies at bottom, Naruto passed through the bushes and into the river. A tingling in the back of his mind warned him of an attack. His Summoner shouted the surprise attack too late, giving Jax the first blow. Naruto stumbled forward, spun with a kunai and tossed a second one. Jax took the kunai like a champ to his arm and kept on moving for him. Jax swung his lamp. Naruto caught his wrist and groaned as the lamp wielding fighter tried to push him back. It was clear that Jayce would arrive first if they were going to move against him. Jax only had to wait for aid to shut Naruto down before he could do anything.
The scent of gunpowder filled the air and the sound of metal on metal was quick to follow. Naruto stopped fighting Jax and let himself be pushed down. Using the motion, Naruto dodged the first shot, letting Jax take the shot against his damaged arm, and still moving, Naruto flung him over the top and sent him sprawling beside Caitlyn and Lux. The two fired their respective long-range abilities. Naruto rolled, dodging out of the way of Lux's slow move spell but taking the Sheriffs' bullet to his leg. Naruto dropped, saving his life from the second shot she fired that barely grazed the side of his head. Her third shot was thrown upwards as Twitch and Janna arrived. Caitlyn vanished into the sky under the fury of a tornado. Lux was forced back by Twitch and his poisonous bolts. Jax ran back into the jungle to avoid confrontation.
Lux accepted her fate quicker than her partner. Twitch put a dozen bolts into her chest and she dropped, vanishing in a pillar of blue light. Two more tornados were summoned to stop Caitlyn from escaping. She fell under the power of the poison and two kunai, giving Twitch the second kill.
A quick glance to Janna and Naruto saw a sliver of a smile forming on her face. He bolted before it got the better of him and returned to his jungle to clear camps.

"That was impressive," Amoline whispered. She sat in a comfy chair watching the match between Zaun and Piltover with Annie in her lap. Annie was obviously cheering for Naruto, but seemed conflicted since she didn't much like Janna. It was hard for her to find a team to root for when someone you hated was on said team.
Gregon snorted at the display of power from all three Champions. It was unrealistic after watching any fight outside of the League. Sure Naruto was a good example of such a thing; but with Champions like Kayle that could fly hundreds of feet into the air and reduced to a messily two or three feet it made the matches seems unrealistic. He just didn't like the fact that they had to weaken you to make the playing field fair for everyone. It was stupid.
Sitting in the large room were hundreds of other people from Elders to shop owners. It wasn't every day that two Ionian Champions fought against one another for a different City State or were rivals only on the Fields of Justice. Anyone would wanna watch Naruto and Jax fight one another. It was like having Kayle and Morgana fight. You really didn't want to miss it.
"What's it like being controlled by them?" Someone asked. Annie barely looked to the speaker. "Do they control you and take away your powers?"
"Not really…" Annie jumped off her mothers' lap and cheered as Twitch put a few rounds in Lux's arm, forcing her back. Janna summoned another tornado and forced the two females apart. Twitch didn't react fast enough and failed to get another kill. Annie grumbled and sat back down. "They weaken us on the field, but we retain our own abilities and anything we take into the match with us. Weapons that break will be fixed and clothing that is burned will be repaired. But the people don't control us. They guide us." Now she turned to face the speaker. He wore a large straw hat to shield most of his face from view and clothed himself in simply townsfolk clothing. He sounded Ionian and dressed the part too. "Do you wanna play with us?" She pointed to the screen.
The man rubbed his chin. There was a small scrapping sound as he did. He hadn't shaven in a while. "I'll consider it, little one." He motioned to the monitor and said, "Why is he called the Unsung Hero? Shouldn't he be the Prankster King or something?" Annie looked confused. He waved it off. "Forget it." He departed into the crowd of vanished. Annie blinked as she thought she saw smoke from where the man was heading, but believed her eyes to be wrong and thus returned to watching the match.

Kohaku kept his gaze locked on the monitor as the match began to round on its final battle. Naruto had done well for himself, and so had Twitch, but every team fight saw them getting singled out almost immediately. At long range, Caitlyn proved to be a bother and with Vi making sure to keep everyone away from her, it made the fights work in their favor. Five team fights saw them three victories. The two that they lost were only thanks to Janna and Darius.
Karma began to fear that they would lose the match as the next team fight already saw the death of Darius and Janna. Twitch did what he could to escape, but with Lux and Vi heading off as after him, it was clear he wasn't going to get far.
"They've lost this," Ashe said with an air of authority. Karma clenched her jaw and sat a little straighter. "You disagree?"
"If Viktor loses this…" Karma could hear Naruto's final words to her before he bolted ringing in her ears. She didn't approve of Viktor. "You don't approve of Naruto because of something you assume he did in your land." Katarina turned her head just enough so that one eye was on the woman.
"Naruto is a murderer and a traitor to Ionia. He claims to do stuff for your people and never take lives. I know what I saw that day. He murdered innocent people for no reason."
"If that's how you choose to see him, so be it. That's your opinion. Not mine."
Ashe snorted. "I thought you were enlightened, Karma, but now I see you're just blind."
"I see you're a frozen bitch," Katarina cut in, smiling as the new Queen of Freljord rose to challenge her. "You think Naruto has killed innocent people, but he's never killed just yet on purpose. He grieves for the fallen that he couldn't protect, unlike me. Do you think Tryndamere would grieve for someone that died that he was trying to protect? No. I see that in character. Same for you. You speak of peace but all you really want is war. That's why you play the nice little girl trying to mend all wounds and bad feelings with your gift baskets of lies. Say what you truly feel? Do you honestly except anyone to believe you want to unite Freljord for peaceful purposes?"
"My reasons are just. I want to unite all of Freljord because it's divided. It should be united." Ashe's gaze shifted to Katarina with a dark glint. "Of course, Ionia could be united if a certain City State would free them."
Karma and Katarina didn't take the bait. Draven began whistling and shaking his head. It caught the attention of everyone in the room. "Sorry," he said quickly enough, "just watch my bro die… again." He scratched at his head as he tried to figure out how, for the fifth time, Vi killed him. It was that mind boggling to him. "Look," he turned back to the group and leaned on the railing, "I'm not saying I support what's being done in Ionia." Katarina snorted. Like hell he didn't. "To me, it's just a stupid thing. We're not getting anything out of it other than headaches. I don't see why we're there to begin with." Yeah, Katarina was calling him out on that one.
"Thank you, Draven, but we both know that you've killed some of my people because they were taken to your arena as sport," Karma made sure to give him a dead stare. Kennen now was less focused on the talks and more focused on the matches. Kohaku had lost all interest in both and was in the middle of meditating. "I know that any prisoner you get, you throw into your arena and let them run for their life. You've killed just as many innocent people as Katarina has." The redhead began examining her nails. She wasn't going to say anything to defend herself. Karma was right. She killed innocent people. Well… if you considered threats to Noxus innocent anyways.
"You all speak of him with such malice. Why?" Kohaku pointed to Ashe, his head tilted and his eyes reflecting boredom. "I've fought your Order before, Woman of Ice. Your Order was strong and your rule the harshest, but you're people were happy. Now it seems your rule has become weak and you're people are angry." His gaze shifted to Katarina and there was a look of respect that danced in his eyes. "Your Order was once weak, but you crawled from the bottom and made something of yourself. I once looked upon them and saw only resolve and defiance. I fought beside your Order and saw the stubbornness of its warriors and compassion of its healers. How far your Order fell, I do not know. But I fear for your enemies should your Order ever rise to power again."
"And who are you, speaker of Order, to say such things to me, Queen of the Freljord?" His appearance hadn't gone unnoticed by Ashe. She had wondered about him since the moment they stepped in. He remained quiet and simply observed. Every so often he'd turn and looked to one of the two Noxians and blink, as if he didn't understand what he saw. Now that he speaks, Ashe wondered just what sort of man he was and why he entered with Karma, rather than the two Noxians. But much to her annoyance he turned away and resumed watching the match. What was that all about?
Draven grumbled and stood upright. "It's all over but the slaughter." He shook his head. "Bro ain't gonna be happy about this."

Viktor tumbled as Jayce slammed his hammer into his side and sent him sprawling into the water. He cursed himself as he tried to get up, but Jayce was quicker and planted a foot on his chest, keeping him down. Viktor could hear his Summoner screaming something at him, but the man ignored him and resigned himself to his fate. The sound of a few people splashing caught his attention. He struggled to look up, but he did manage it, the rest of their team was there waiting like a pack of hungry wolves.
"Viktor, you have to fight back!"
Viktor ignored him and closed his eyes.
The pressure left his chest and a scream and a series of coughs followed. Heat washed over his form. Something grabbed him and hauled him to his feet. He opened his eyes and saw the grass moving quickly underneath him before it came to a stop and his feet found purchase with the soft earth.
"Sorry I was late." Naruto looked out from behind the tree. Jayce and the other would soon be here to finish the job. Darius and Twitch were going to be out for a little while longer and Janna was already at the base healing. She wouldn't arrive the moment that the others were on their feet. All that stood between victory and defeat was Naruto and Viktor. "How you holding up?" Naruto looked to the man and his heart sank. Viktor had slumped against the tree and fell to the ground. If he was crying, Naruto didn't know. Looking back out of their cover, the blond groaned and moved closer to the man. "Look," he began softly, "I need your help here, Viktor. We can still win this if we hold them here. They're weak right now, but if we don't give them a chance to go back, we can win."
"What's the point?" Naruto closed his eyes and chewed on his lower lip. "I thought I was strong enough to finally prove I'm worth something here. That I'm not a joke. And look at me. I'm losing my first match, and it's a political one. I'm going to lose, Naruto. I'll be laughed at even more than what I already am. By business will be ruined because people will think my machines are a joke. I've lost everything."
"He's really messed up." Naruto wanted to dispute his Summoners' conversation, but knew that deep down the man was right. "He's no use to us. We can hold out long enough to give them a shot at victory, but it's not a guarantee."
Who's his Summoner?
"Huh? Why?" Naruto remained silent. "That's insane. What you're asking is… Are you sure? We'll I'm in your head so I know you're sure. His Summoner is Gong Sui. I'll relay the message." There was a brief silence before his Summoner returned. "He wants to make sure that it's legal."
It's one of my memories. I don't care if he thinks it's wrong. Show that one to Viktor right now. I'll handle the rest. Naruto tuned his Summoner out and glanced over his shoulder to see Jayce steadily moving forward. His team flanked him, but moved cautiously. "Viktor, your Summoner is going to show you one of my memories. Don't reject it."
"Why? What will it prove?"
"Listen and find out."
Viktor tensed and his world swam with the dead of night. He was in a forest in one eye and in the other he was in the jungle of the Fields of Justice. He could see a sobbing blond haired boy, a younger version of Naruto, holding a scroll and crying. There was pain and joy in the memory that his Summoner reflected on him. He could see the older Naruto, the man he knew and built stuff for standing proudly on the defense as words spoken by another came to him through the memory.
"You don't approve of me!" He was sure that was the younger Naruto.
"I don't approve of the demon fox. But, not Naruto… For him, I have nothing but respect. He is an excellent student. He works with all his might. But despite that, he's clumsy and not everyone approves of him. He already knows about the pain in peoples' hearts. He's no longer the demon fox. He is… a citizen of Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves. He's Uzumaki Naruto!" There was joy, pride, and something akin to love in the voice of the speaker. Viktor felt Naruto's own joy and sorrow and pain and anger from the memory. It hurt more to hear the truth from someone, Iruka, than anything he'd ever felt. Kunai had never cut as deep. Punches had never landed as hard. It was one of Naruto's most treasured and well-remembered memories.
"Viktor," Naruto knelt down and smiled at him. "My people hated me for something I couldn't control. They hated me because I was different. All it took was one person to see me in a better light, to let me know he saw me in that light, to make me wanna keep living and fighting on. Before him, I had nothing. One day I hope to return to him and thank him for those words to me." Viktor stared at the blond with his mouth hung open. How could anyone endure such loneliness for so long? Naruto kept smiling at him. "I messed up, Viktor. I hurt someone that is my friend. I promised to fix what I did. I ripped off his arm in an attempt to save him. I learned that there is no healing magic to restore what he lost. So I've turned to you now to help me restore what he lost."
"But… why me?"
Naruto patted him on the head. "You're my friend and you've already done what some are saying is impossible." Naruto got to his feet and turned to face the tree he'd be using as a hiding spot. "Jayce, did you hear me?" The entire team emerged with weapons drawn. Jayce clenched his jaw and looked to the slumped over man behind him. "I gave you your chance to try and help me and you threw it away."
"So you turn to this mad man? I told you that it's impossible."
Naruto smiled and yanked the machine man to his feet. Jayce turned his hammer into its gun form. Naruto tore of Viktor's sleeve and revealed metal attached at his elbow. His entire forearm was metal. It was machine! "You said it was impossible. But I think Viktor has proven otherwise. What was it you said to me? That it would take all the nerves and stuff them into a wire that would register or some bullshit! Look! Viktor has done it! He's beaten you!"
"Viktor is nothing but a machine!" Caitlyn snapped. Naruto pulled a kunai out and carefully cut Viktor's arm above his elbow. Red liquid fell down his arm, stunning the five. "It doesn't change anything!" She raised his gun, but Jayce began to shake. She looked to the man and saw him seething with a rare anger. "Jayce?"
"Face it, Jayce, what you said was impossible is possible! Viktor has done it and in doing so has beaten you! And you know what; he's going to beat you here too!" Naruto patted his friend on the back. "I'll handle the other four for as long as I can. Take out Jayce… That's what you have to do to prove yourself here. And even if we lose, you still win. If you promise to help my friend…"
"I'll help him."
Naruto smiled and laughed for the first time during the entire match. Jax took a step back, his weapon ready for an attack. "Alright then," Naruto whispered. "Then we're not fighting for victory here, Viktor. That's a bonus. I wasn't one for political battles like this anyways. I'm fighting now just to have fun!"
"It's five on two!" Vi shouted. "You're strong but you're not that…" Naruto teleported in front of her, shutting her up and stunning the five. How… She thrust a fist forward. Naruto avoided her swing and stabbed her in the eye with a kunai. She screamed and turned away. Naruto was quick and with the same kunai stabbed her three times in the back before tossing it at Caitlyn as she turned to open fire on him. It bounced off her gun, skewering her aim and causing a miss. Naruto punched Lux away and rounded housed Jax across the face, knocking them all into the river near the dragon.
"You take home boy. I got these four!" Naruto jumped over the wall and down in to the pit with the dragon. Running fast, Naruto avoided its fiery breathe and found the four still picking themselves up. "Jax, today we settle the tie. Vi, sorry to bust you up, but eh, least you finally get your shot at me. Lux, sorry, but I'm not letting you hit me with your laser light. Caitlyn," Naruto turned and spied her making her way to a vantage point to snipe, "I'm not letting you fire another shot at me." As if to mock him, the long gun of the law fired once at it him without looking down her sights. The bullet went wide, but it did make a point about Naruto's prediction. "That was a freebie."
Vi charged him with Jax at her side. Naruto chuckled and jumped over her slow swung and kicked Jax's weapon. Pushing off it, he flipped in the air and landed on his feet, weaving between the two and tackling Lux as she readied a spell. The words left her lips too late and Naruto barreled into her, pushing her down as he made his wave for the Sheriff. She took a few shots at him, but he zigzagged between them. She gave up the spot she had, jumping down and bolting for cover. Naruto was fast and caught up to her. He slid when she turned and took another shot at him. Springing to his feet and punched her square in the face three times, bruising her shooting eye. An orb of light flew at them. Caitlyn planted her foot on his gut and pushed off, sending him down into the orb. It detonated with a quiet bang, leaving Naruto with nothing more than burns and a slight case of blindness.
A fast struck him hard in the head and he felt his world go hazy as he was propelled along the ground until natural friction and the water stopped him. Naruto rolled to the side and avoided Jax's follow up. Jumping to his feet, the blond grabbed hold of Jax's weapon and kicked him twice in the side. The man responded with a head-butt and a knee to the groin. Naruto let go and took a solid blow to the jaw from the lamppost. Spinning around into Vi, Naruto felt himself get lift up as she punched him in the side. He was sure a few of his ribs broke with that attack. A bullet found purchases in his left thigh. Lux fired a spell squarely into his chest, sending him flying through the air. He landed a few dozen feet away and spat blood.
The four grouped up, ready to end his life. Naruto shook his head to clear the ringing and winced as his body screamed in nothing but pain.
"Sorry," Naruto said softly, "but I can't afford to play nice any longer." Caitlyn readied her rifle. Naruto vanished from sight in a swirl of leaves. Caitlyn felt her world go cold as she tasted steel in her mouth. Naruto pulled his kunai out of the jaw and stabbed in twice in her eye, the second blow daggering further in. He ripped it out with a single tug and her life was ended. Vi charged him, furious at her partners' death. Naruto rolled under her swing and kicked her in the gut twice. She coughed blood and stumbled back as Jax flipped over her and swung downwards with his lamp. The blow connected with Naruto's left arm. There was a loud crack and it suddenly became lifeless. "Screw you!" Naruto shouted as he punched Jax in the gut. His fist drove home and Jax coughed from behind his mask.
Vi kicked the blond in the back of the leg and drove her fist into his falling form. The blow propelled him near the pit with the dragon. Jax made a mad dash for the blond, his lamp ignited for a powerful blow. Naruto caught his wrist before he could swing and broke his arm over his knee. Jax wasn't detoured and hit him with the tail end of his weapon, crushing Naruto's right eye in the process. The two kicked each other away. Naruto slammed against the wall while Jax tumbled in the water. Lux readied a spell. Light gathered in front of her body. Naruto looked to Vi as she charged him, unaware of the attack that was coming his way.
Lux fired a beam of pure light. Vi charged him with a powerful strike that sent him into the air and put his back to the blast. The two vanished in a cloud of smoke and heat. Jax was the first to scream something over the blast. Lux didn't register it until her Summoner screamed it at her. "He's not dead!" She readied another spell but a buzzing sound filled the air and Lux felt her entire world go dark. She blinked and she was in the void world where the dead awaited revival.
From the smoke Naruto emerged with burns and his left arm blown off. Blood flowed freely from the wound. Behind him a pillar of light took Vi away. The last Jax saw of her was a mangled body beaten by the blast. Gasping for air, Naruto wasn't ready for Jax's assault. His body tumbled end over end as Jax beat him away with his lamppost until he came to a stop close to his jungle. Jax moved forward to delivery a finishing blow. Naruto pulled a kunai from somewhere and caught him in the chest. It detonated into a ball of fire. Naruto pulled himself up right and cursed as Jax came out of the ball of fire with burnt clothing and a large patch of skin melted off his chest. Some of his bones were visible. The two had a stare down that was broken by Jax.
"You're in no condition to fight me anymore, Naruto. I'm breaking the tie today." Jax raised his weapon. Naruto was out of tricks and his body was about to break. A roar sounded and Jax just barely had time to see a man falling form the sky. He chuckled at the irony as he was split in two by Darius. What a god damn shame… tied… STILL.
Naruto laughed and put his head against the tree before he remembered Viktor. Darius made a charge for the enemy towers. Naruto found Viktor pinned to a tree with Janna at his side. A blast of wind was the only thing he felt before a beam of red flew from Viktor's cannon and made a line in the sky. Naruto saw a ball of white fall from the heavens and warp around the red beam. The two shots traded spaces and the white smacked the earth behind Viktor and Janna. The red one missed Jayce completely. The man fell out of the sky and hit the ground hard. He ran forward with the remains of his weapon out for a final blow when a piercing sound filled the air. Jayce stopped and danced as a dozen bolts pierced his chest and dropped him cold.
"Mine! Mine! All mine!" Twitch proclaimed as he sniffed the air and walked up on the three. "What'd I miss?"
"An ass kicking!" Naruto said with a witty grin. As Jayce vanished in the blue light, Viktor suddenly fell forward and was caught by Janna. "We have a shot now, Viktor. We can win this. We have to go. Now!"
"You two go," Janna ordered as she helped him to his feet. "We'll bring up the rear." Naruto didn't wait for Viktor to say anything. He bolted off after Darius. Twitch followed.
"Where does he get his strength from?" Viktor asked. Janna smiled and helped him walk. "Why do this for me? Why side with Zaun when you want to change it? You hate what it is. So why help me?"
Janna floated off the ground and made haste for the others. She could see Naruto and Twitch carving a path of destruction with Darius. "I believe that you can help me change Zaun to make it a better place. Maybe not free of crime. That would be too much, even for you. But with your help I truly do believe that we can clean up Zaun and make it a better place. Naruto has always been a friend to me. And when I found out that he was friends with you, I believed that he saw something in you. He may be stupid and might not always understand what someone else tells him, but he is a good person and knows how to pick his friends. That's why I'll put my faith in you and ask if you'll help me make Zaun a better place."
"You're asking a criminal to help clean up a city." He laughed at the irony. "If I can do what Naruto says I can, then I'll consider it."
Janna felt a weight fall from her shoulders and knew that progress would be made on her beloved city. Perhaps all it took was a little shove to get the gears going. Naruto was one hell of a pusher if she wanted to point fingers at a culprit.
"We're almost out of time!"
Janna and Viktor arrived and saw the state of the final tower that guarded the Nexus. It was about to fall, but the minions were gone and the enemy minions moved against them. Naruto growled and formed a Rasengan. "Stand back!" Naruto surged forward and slammed it in to the tower. A bolt fired from the staff of the tower hit him hard and he cried as it burned his entire body. His attack remained and he kept pushing until a memory struck him. The voice was almost foreign and the memory was hazy. It was a man with white hair holding the Rasengan.
"You can make your own version of it, Naruto!" The blond felt more chakra swell within him. He reached into the tower as far as his arm would go.
Ero-Sennin…! Naruto charged more power into the attack and made his Rasengan bigger. A final bolt struck him and the tower exploded from the force of the blast. Naruto stumbled out of the smoke as the tower fell, his final arm blown off. He smiled a bloody smile and dropped to his knees. "I'll leave the rest…" He faded in the blue light.
Viktor felt Janna surge forward and he screamed with Darius as the big man raised his axe, screaming, "For Noxus!" as he swung it into the hard stone that was the shield for the enemy Nexus. Twitch tossed containers of acid at the walls and watched it melt with glee. Viktor blasted the weakened walls with his laser and watched a pillar of blue light erupted from the fountain. Darius growled and screamed, "They're coming back!" Viktor moved as quickly as he could and threw his remaining set of gadgets at the steps of the fountain. A barrier of purple and blue arose. Darius looked to the man and then the exposed crystals. He slammed his axe into it and felt a rush of joy as it became unstable. It detonated a moment later. "Victory for Noxus," he said proudly.

Naruto groaned as Viktor continued to cough. Once the match was over, Twitch returned to wherever it was he stayed and Darius returned to his brother so that they could head out to Noxus to inform High Command of their victory and their new ally, Viktor, in the fight against their enemies. Naruto patted his friend on the back, smiling as he did. Janna hovered over him trying to do her best to sooth him as well with what healing magic she possessed.
"Should have warned you that the first trip is always a dozy." Naruto felt like laughing as the man looked up with a scowl on his face… probably. "Let me introduce you to Kohaku. After that, I have to go. But if he allows it, I'll send him with you a clone of mine to make sure you get back to Zaun okay." Viktor wobbled to his feet and very slowly began to walk. Naruto helped him until he was sure the man was okay. "Should warn you, he's a little out of this time line. He's from way back. And don't let that stupid blond girl, Ezreal, get a hold of him."
"Ezreal is a guy," Janna told him. Naruto waved her comment off as they rounded the corner and came face to face with Jayce. On the other side of them was an alarmed looking Karma and a curious looking Kohaku. Kennen was being pulled away for a match while Irelia looked unsure of what to do. "Jayce, you're match is over and holds no grounds here. If you want to fight, do it on the Fields of Justice."
"Save your breathe, winch. My fight is with those two." Naruto stepped in front of Viktor, a hand outstretched to keep him from doing anything. "So cute. You protecting your favorite little wind up scientist?"
"What do you want, Jayce? You lost. You're side lost and you now have to pay your dues. If you touch him here, it'll only look worse on you." Naruto doubted that would be enough to stop Jayce from doing anything. Kayle and Morgana were usually the same after a match like this. It was a wonder the two didn't kill each other off outside of the League. Jayce reached for his hammer. Naruto felt Viktor preparing to fire as well. "Viktor," Naruto turned on him and stood in the line of fire, "don't do this! You'll ruin your victory and make it worthless."
"But…"
"Listen to him," Janna whispered. "If you attack him now, you'll ruin your victory and they'll be able to claim the same thing that you did. Just trust us."
Viktor reluctantly lowered his weapon. Jayce did not. The standoff lasted only a few seconds before the power of another erupted through the halls. "What in the name of sanity is happening here?!" An old man entered with Summoner robes. He looked between the two parties and scowled. "Lower your weapons! No fighting between Champions outside of the League. If you wanna fight each other, do it on the Fields of Justice!" He looked Viktor and Naruto. "Naruto, keep your friend in line! And you, Jayce," he pointed to the man and snapped, "if you ever threaten another Champion like this again, the punishment will be severe! Now leave." Jayce scowled and departed, joining a happy Vi and a disgruntled looking Caitlyn at the door.
"Bye, Naruto! Come visit me in Piltover when you get the chance!" Vi left without getting a reply. Naruto waved back to her leaving form and shook his head as the Summoner left as well.
"This world is so strong now," Kohaku muttered, his eyes scanning the form that was Viktor. "So you will heal my arm, yes?" Viktor looked the boy over and nodded. "Why do you replace your body with stone and metal?"
"Stone?"
"He's from the dark ages," Naruto cut in quickly. "Look, can you help him?" Viktor nodded slowly. A puff of smoke and a clone emerged. "My clone will get you to Zaun and stay around for as long as it can. I'm sorry to do this, but I really have to go. I'll be back as soon as I can. And try not to do anything stupid, either!" Naruto made a mad dash for Relivash's office. He found the man waiting for him. "I'm sorry I'm late, but I had to introduce Viktor to Kohaku. Now," Naruto put his hands on the desk, "tell me about the creature."
A/N
And that is how Viktor got laid! He showed up, kicked some ass, looked good doing it, and got the blond! Maybe. Who knows?
Naruto is now going to Kumungu Jungles! This is a comedy scene that started it all with me. This arc is the arc that started everything for me. See, when I was reading the lore on some of the people, I thought to myself, "Why would these people really even join?" and then my brain started working. I thought, "How would you tempt these four people into joining and why does the third and fourth even show up to begin with if they're in the jungle constantly. And then I came to a funny conclusion. "They joined because someone went over there, found them, and said, "Hey! You like killing bigger things? Join the League! It'll be fun!" and then they joined." That is how they were recruited.
So it's pretty obvious that two of these people are Kha and the other is Rengar. You should be able to figure out who the other two are, but I'm not spoiling anything here because it's part of a long joke that I've been waiting to get to. I will give one cyber cookie to the person that can tell me where the name for Kha comes from when he's revealed in the next chapter. Because I'm not using that name because no one knows his name right now. Seriously, I doubt Rengar was like, "Hey, you're strong. What's your name? I wanna know so I can write it over your head on my trophy wall!" He's getting a new name until he's in the League.
