Chapter 20
(Trish's POV)
Tuesday came. John and his brothers met me and my sisters at the beach. We at 10:30. We met in the parking lot. The beach was kind of busy, because it was spring break. But we each were able to find parking places.
"Hello handsome," I said when I saw John with his brothers.
"Hey beautiful," John said.
I walked up to him, hugged him and kissed him. Christie did the same with Dan.
"Gag," Sean said.
"Be nice, Baby Bro," Matt said. "Hello Melissa."
"Hi," Melissa blushed.
"Gag!" Sean said.
"Knock it off, Sean," Dan said. "Shall we go have some fun?"
"Yes," Christie said.
I smiled. John took my hand. The two of us, along with Dan, Christie, Melissa, Matt, and Sean walked onto the beach. We found an open spot and set up a beach blanket.
"Okay, but some sun screen on, please," John said to Sean. "Mom will kill us if we let you get sun burnt."
"No problem. Sun burns suck," Sean said.
"Trish, will you do my back?" Melissa asked, holding sun screen.
"Sure," I said.
"I'll do your back for you," John said.
"That would be nice," I replied with a smile.
"No in appropriate behavior on the beach, please," Christie said.
"You're one to talk." Christie ignored me.
After everyone put on sun screen, we all decided on what we wanted to do. Christie and I decided we would lay out and tan for a little while. John and his brothers threw a football around. Melissa joined them. We planned on playing a game of volleyball later.
"How's school Melissa?" Dan asked tossing the football to her.
"It's good. I can't wait to be in high school next year," Melissa said. She tossed the ball to Sean. He tossed it to Matt.
"I can't wait either," Matt said. He tossed the ball to John. John tossed the ball to Dan.
"Are you going to play football?" Melissa asked.
"Yep."
"Just like his big brothers," Dan said. He tossed the ball to Melissa.
"You're a cheerleader, aren't you?" Matt asked as Melissa threw the ball to Sean. Sean tossed it to Matt.
"Yes, I am," Melissa said. "I'll be trying out for cheerleading."
"Awesome." He threw the ball to John.
Melissa chuckled.
After Christie and I got our tan on, we played a game of volleyball. We played couples versus couples. It was John and me versus Christie and Dan. That was a lot of fun. While we played our game, our younger siblings watched us and talked. Matt and Melissa had a lot of fun talking. They actually ended up going on a walk together.
John and I took a walk together too.
(John's POV)
"So what do you think about my little brother and your baby sister?" I asked.
Trish chuckled. "I can tell Matt really likes Melissa. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended dating or something next year or come summer."
"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised either. They'll both be at the same school next year, so they'll see each other every day. Plus he's going to be a football player and she's going to be a cheerleader."
"The typical high school couple, huh?"
I nodded his head. "Yeah, if you like that sort of thing. I like girls who are in color guard."
I smiled.
"No, I take that back. I love one girl who was in color guard."
My smile grew wider. "Stop, you're embarrassing me."
I chuckled. I kissed me passionately on the lips.
By the end of the afternoon, everyone was ready to go home. Everyone had had fun, especially Sean.
"We must do this again sometime," Sean said.
"How about on Friday?" Matt suggested.
"Yeah, back to the beach on Friday," Melissa said.
"Okay, we'll come back to the beach on Friday," Trish said.
"Yes!"
"Are you two up for it?" Trish asked Dan and Christie.
"Sure," Dan said.
"Of course," Christie said.
"Great. Same time, same place," I said.
"Sounds perfect," Sean said.
(Trish's POV)
"So did you have fun, Melissa?" I asked as my sisters and I were on the way home.
"Yes, I did," Melissa said.
"How much fun did you have?" Christie asked.
"A lot. I enjoyed talking to Matt. It was fun talking to a boy and getting to know him."
"Awe. Our baby sister is growing up."
"She sure is."
"Shut up," Melissa said.
(John's POV)
"Okay, Little Brother, what did you and Melissa talk about when you two went off on your walk?" I asked Matt on the way home.
"Everything," Matt said. "We talked about school, friends, and family. We also talked about being in high school next year."
I nodded my head. "You're really looking forward to high school now, huh?"
"Yep. But I'm looking forward to Friday even more. Plus Melissa said she was going to personal message me on Facebook later and give me her cell phone number. We're going to be texting and talking on the phone."
"I think our little brother is in the works for getting a girlfriend," I said to Dan.
"I think so too."
"Shut up."
