Ty:

At first, I thought the light slicing into the underground darkness from above was either from the sun or a floodlight from the colonists encampment. It was moving through the tunnel with ease and seemed to hover over each one of us for a hesitant second, almost as if it knew someone was there before moving to the next one. It was strange to see, but no one bothered to question it since it seemed to be harmless, at least that was until it locked onto me. Suddenly the light began to glow even brighter and give rise to the distinct high-pitched whine of something charging up, then before I knew it a sharp blast rang out and we all scattered for as the ceiling above began to crumble.

As chunks of rock crashed violently into the ground, it felt like someone with lightning speed told me where to go. I followed the directions and ended up in the perfect vantage point just in time to see a large geth armature drop through the hole and clonk heavily down in front of us.

It's hydraulic legs letting out a high pitched whine in protest from the sudden impact, but it still stood up to full height as a fall like that was of no consequence. As it rose back up, there was a distinct flicker in the light on its head, almost as if the machine beast was showing us something about it, before it turned away from me to unload its head mounted turrets payload directly at Garrus.

He was able to counter it by activating a shield boost and diving into cover for safety, managing to dodge the bullets for now. As the Geth focused on him, Kaidan began to move around it and start firing his assault rifle at it. His bullets plinked off like spitwads shot at a tanker truck, doing essentially nothing to this armoured monstrosity of machinery that didn't really seem to care about the attack.

Thankfully the Geth couldn't really move around due to how small the tunnel was, forcing to stay in the lower path as it would fit nowhere else. However this didn't stop it from using what it had and it stood on its two front legs, getting a better view of the area and preparing for its next move.

My mind clicked when I saw this as I knew it was about to fire a cannon shot at Garrus to try and take him out, his shield boosts only lasted for a couple seconds and he wouldn't be able to take much with his normal shields. Immediately my hand thrusted forward and a glaive went flying, soaring through the air before slamming into the machine's head. It wasn't much but it was enough to put the machine off balance and disrupt its ability to fire for a short while. During that time the robot's head moved a little to the side and then tried to look back at me while off balance.

I smirked and reached back for my shotgun but the Geth was having none of it. Without being stable, it fired a volley right at me and left me with no time to move. Luckily, Kaidan jumped in front of the shot and threw up his biotic barrier to prevent a direct hit. The shot blasted into him and knocked him back into the wall behind me, his armour clanking loudly from the impact before he fell into a crumpled pile on the floor.

"Shit", I said before turning back to our adversary.

The Geth began to right himself and remained locked onto me, giving off a familiar high pitched whine sound before releasing a barrage of bullets bashed against my shield. There was no time to think about my next action and so I dove to the right, hoping that I made the correct decision. I didn't feel any bullets cutting through my body, so that was a plus and when I opened my eyes I saw a solid concrete slab protecting me.

"Hey, Ty, do you read me?" Danny asked over the comms.

I rolled over in my cover and pressed up against the slab that was between the Geth and I. "What the hell is going on!? There was never a Armature in this part of the game!"

"The fuck if I know. Look, I got it in me to take this guy down but I'm gonna need your help." He said, sounding a little winded from his breathing. "I'm already sweating and we need something big to take this guy down."

"So what? You gonna make a cain or something?" I asked, looking ahead of me and seeing that I had a good line of cover.

"Psht, yeah right. We may be in Mass Effect but I'm not gonna waste my time by bringing a weapon out that's already in the game."

I crawled out from my cover as we spoke, attempting to get a better angle that I would allow me to see him from my current position. "Fine then what exactly are you planning on?"

"How about a rocket launcher?"

"Well, I don't really know any rocket launchers that are made to penetrate shield regeneration." I said before getting to the destroyed vehicle inside of the room, though now it was partially buried by the rubble that had fallen on us.

My head snuck its way up and I peaked over the cover to see what was going on. The Geth blew away Garrus in one shot, blasting him back into a wall that cracked on impact and knocking him out. The Turian fell down and slammed into the ground so hard that I heard the crack from my position, it wasn't pleasant to hear. Now it was only Danny and I left to take the beast down as it didn't seem like Kaidan was getting up anytime toon.

Something suddenly pushed me forward and forced to to step out into the open, raise my hand up for some unknown reason. The glaive suddenly returned to it from its original position back to my hand and soon it became obvious that my body was moving on its own accord and it had plans that I wasn't aware of. As soon as I realized this my arm thrusted outward toward the machine and pointed at it, getting the armature's attention.

"What am I doing?" I started asking myself as the giant turned toward me, seeming to narrow its gaze at me so it could glare.

For a single second of time we just looked at each other for what felt like minutes while I tried to think of something to do to fight my overpowered enemy with, but there was nothing coming immediately to mind. My body didn't wait for me to think it out though and I was pushed forward into the fray, lurching into action before I was ready. Meanwhile the giant lined up a shot and began to fire at me, however I leaped to the side and everything went in slow motion.

My right hand instinctively snaked down to my hip and drew my pistol out before taking aim. The slowed dilation of time allowed me to easily line up a shot and put a bullet into the Geth's eye. The shot pinged off it's optical sensor, disrupting it's visual data for a bit as it lurched to the side so I couldn't make that shot again. I still flew through the air and slammed down a few feet away, only to get back up and move on without losing any of my momentum. It was then I realized it wasn't my instincts taking control of my body but my armor as it was moving for me.

The armor - and I in it - ran through the rubble, keeping out the the machines line of sight long enough to not get fired on again. We moved around to Danny and found him lying against against a pile of rocks out like a light. At first I thought it was weird since he never got hit, but then I saw what had exhausted him so much as laying next to his unconscious form was a green spartan laser all fresh and ready to go.

Taking it into our hands, the armor put it on our back and turned around to face the Geth that threatened our lives, I gulped thinking it was gonna head right for the thing and try to fight it head on. Instead, it darted to the right and sprinted up some rubble before leaping to the walls, carrying me up the sheer ninety degree surface by using every hole and divot in the structure to bring us even higher. Then, when it was just about reached the top, it leaped backwards with arms out as if to do a backwards swan dive.

My legs flipped forward and I spun around in mid air, pulling the laser off my back in the process and starting its charging sequence. I saw the Geth trying to look at me but I had jumped too far behind it, making it incapable of tracking me with it's cannon. However, my current trajectory put me down right atop of the armature's back just in time to fire the laser point blank.

The harsh red beam of light cut through the armature's armour with ease and caused it to go up in a brilliant blaze of electricity and fire, dealing a significant blow to the Geth that had been knocking us down like flies. Unfortunately my armours was a double-edged sword as the force of the blast threw me from the monster's back and sent me flying into a pile debris.

I landed hard and my vision split for a while as I tried to recuperate from the hit, my thought process hazy for a bit as I tried to figure out what had happened. Everything finally started to align after I forced my head up to check what I landed on and it looked like I landed in some pile of crushed rock. Though there was a horrible pain in my side that nearly made be yelp in shock.

I - finally having some control - ran my left hand over my hip and poked something that sent a sharp chill down my spine, forcing me to quickly retreat it back. Thanks to the helmet I couldn't see what it was but I wondered what it was that caused me such pain, and that was when something in the back of my head spoke to me.

'It appears we have been damaged by a piece of stray barbwire.'

"Fuck.." I said, though I didn't know it was to the thing that had just talked to me or the fact that I was skewered on metal.

'Apologies, we haven't introduced ourselves. We are the technocyte that cover your body.'

I couldn't respond to them again because of the intense pain shooting through my body like an electric jolt, the pain becoming far too real for a video game for sure and it began to make me panic. Thankfully this feeling was quickly cut off before it became worse and I was calm enough to think through what was going on.

My hand once again made its way up again and I grabbed the rebar gently so there was barely any force applied to it, saving me considerable pain as I experimented with it. The bar was stuck well in place and extended out a good three inches from my stomach, making it obvious there was no way that I could pull myself off it alone so I started to think about other ways of removing it. Danny was passed out so he would be the easiest to get up, then again, medigel could get all three of them up at once but I had no idea if Shepard gave me privileges to use it.

Moving my hand away from the bar and fighting its need to shake, I pulled up my Omni-tool applications. Scrolling through them I found one titled "M3|)!c41 |!7" in the midst of them all andfigured it must have been the medigel, I then put in a simple call input and tried to set it to my Omni-tool, but it requested a password to use.

"Ah shit." I spouted, letting my arm drop down and the omni-tool deactivated. "Alright, think Ty, think. You can't get anyone up to help you without medigel."

'Untrue, you could give your compatriot Danny a shot of adrenaline rush and he would awaken easily.' The voice said in the back of my mind, sounding or thinking like it was trying to be helpful.

I brought my hand up again and turned on the power device one more time, clicking on Danny's icon to get something to happen. "Shit, everything is blacked out. I don't think that will work."

'Affirmative, it appears you were not given admin privileges over your allies abilities. Please wait, researching…' The voice trailed off for a bit and I was left confused by his sudden disappearance.

Looking down at the rebar, I saw that it was breaking through my armor but not cutting through it, bits of it were pressed against the armor itself and there was no clean breaks. It was starting to get hard to feel my stomach so I knew my body was numbing the area on its own, worse, here I soon was gonna go into shock and become incapable of getting myself out of the situation.

'We have returned, not to worry about your organs, we have ceased any blood loss that may occur and are fully prepared for the removing of the obstruction.' The voice said, giving a bit of good news upon its return since I wasn't going to immediately die, though it seemed to beam with delight at the fact it was ready to do something.

"... Okay, what are you gon- AAAAAaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHhhhhhh!" I screamed in agony as my arms suddenly snapped back, acutely feeling my body start lifting myself off of the rebar against my own will.

S7: So, I finished a chapter… Is anyone still interested in the rewrite?
