Everyday LoVe

On the ride home after lunch, a very relaxed and happy couple called family and friends. Logan listened to her conversation with her father and Alicia. The whole time he watched his fiancé's face, absolutely loving the sparkle in her eyes and her wide smile as she told them about their weekend. She kept the conversation family friendly but her family could tell she had a wonderful time and she was excited. Logan imagines that her father after the multitude of worrisome calls about one or the other of them over the years is really enjoying this conversation.

Trina was predictably spinning their engagement to be about her. Veronica smiled at Logan's grimace and his firm directions for her not to talk to the press. He says, "Trina, our press agent will release a statement. That is all we want." There is a pause while he listens to her and then he tells her, "Trina, no talking to the press about us. That hasn't changed just because we are engaged." Finally he tells her, "Look if I can't trust you with the paps, then you will find out our news with the rest of the public." After a few more minutes of Logan asking her about her news, he hangs up clearly frustrated and perhaps a little disappointed. He takes her tiny hand and fingers her new ring as he decompresses from his conversation with his sister.

Veronica teases, "So she is happy for us and wants to be a part of our big day?"

He responds to her light tone of voice and shares, "Well less of the happy for us and more of the..." Logan mimics, "You have to do this right. I will talk to my contact at Entertainment Tonight and get you an exclusive interview. I hope you did something spectacular for the proposal. Please tell me the ring is at least ten carats."

To his surprise Veronica tilts her head at him as if in thought. After a few seconds she reaches up and caresses his cheek as she comments, "I can't believe that you worry that you are like him at all. Doesn't talking to Trina just reinforce how different you are?" He looks shocked for a second and then he smiles a slow smile. Sometimes his girl just has a way of putting things into perspective for him. Trina is far away and he only has to deal with her once in a while. What he has in his life is not what his family would understand or want but it is exactly what he has wanted since he was little. He pulls her close and holds her accepting her warmth, comfort and love.

The call to Veronica's brothers go much better. Wallace, who is Veronica's BFF as well, has become a friend of Logan's. He has thought for years that Veronica and Logan would end up together and believes that now is the right time. Logan has really grown and learned to handle his life. Happily Wallace has noticed the biggest change in his sister. She has been away from the craziness of her teen years for a while. She is more settled, more confident and more secure in herself. It seems that living with Logan has softened her stance against marriage. Wallace can feel the difference in them this time. This time he thinks they are going to make it.

As outspoken as his older brother is quiet, Daryl tells them congratulations but makes it clear that he doesn't want to be an usher. Veronica just teases him that he will look good in the tuxedo. Logan laughs when Daryl shoots back that he doesn't want to outshine the groom. Daryl and Logan's relationship blossomed when Logan and Veronica began dating again. Daryl doesn't have the negative memories of the times they dated before. He can see that his sister loves Logan and well, it is pretty clear that Logan loves Veronica so he just embraced having another older brother. He embarrassed his mother and Wallace by openly asking Logan how much money he had when he toured their new place. Despite being chastised by his mother, he told Logan that he was definitely going to enjoy the perks of having a wealthy brother. Logan, appreciated his openness and immediately understood and accepted his crazy younger brother. Daryl got a basketball scholarship to Kansas State. Twice since the semester started, he asked Logan to send the jet to bring him home for a long weekend. He also easily accepted Logan's birthday gift of a new four wheel drive Jeep to take to college. Alicia had been very upset but Logan had silenced Keith and Alicia's objections by pointing out that Daryl was far away from home and not used to driving in the snow. It was important that he have a safe and reliable vehicle. Veronica, used to Logan's way of just buying what he wanted, stepped in and asked Daryl to take her for a ride. Wallace also joined in the spirit of the gift calling out 'shotgun'. He and Veronica then rushed over to the passenger side of the vehicle with Wallace getting there first much to Veronica's chagrin.

Mac is also happy for them. She knows her best girlfriend is in love and it is actually nice to see her embrace the bond that she has with Logan. The computer genius is also impressed with the changes in Logan. He still desperately loves Veronica but he is not desperate. She is happy for them.

Veronica tells Eli their news. The PI congratulates them and then puts an excited Carmen on the phone. She is Veronica's only girly-girl girlfriend. It is clear that she wants all the details. Logan listens as Veronica describes their time at the spa, the sand writing, her new dress, new shoes, necklace and earrings, the dinner, the champagne, flowers and of course the ring. He smiles as he hears Carmen's reactions through the phone and her questions asked at a pitch only a dolphin can hear. He wanted this for Veronica. He wanted her to have an engagement that is worthy of talk with her girlfriends. As a bonus, Carmen will regale Weevil with stories about Logan's proposal plan when she gets off the phone. He knows the biker will hate that.

Calculating the time difference, Logan dials Dick. He tells him he and Veronica are engaged and he listens to his friend's reaction. Looking over, he notices his fiancé smirking as she listens to Logan's talk with his friends. At one point in the conversation, Logan comments, "Well I checked out Veronica's toes before I asked her to marry me so I think I'm good." She looked at her fiancé in question and he just mouthed he would tell her later. Listening she caught phrases like 'iron clad prenup' and 'good lawyer'. Logan a little frustrated, interrupts firmly, "Dick, this is what I want. I can't wait to get married." He made a face at her as he obviously changed the subject and asked them about how the surfing was and listened to their news. After he hung up, he moved closer and wrapped his arm around her as they relaxed back and enjoyed the last few minutes of their drive.

"So are the dynamic duo flying back for the intervention?" Veronica questions.

Puzzled Logan queries, "Intervention?" He can tell by the twinkle in her eyes that she is going to zing him but he doesn't know where it might come from. It's not a feeling he is used to. He usually can follow Veronica's train of thought.

She tilts her head and pulls out her phone. She opens the phone call option and depresses a button before she puts it on speaker. Logan watches wondering who she is calling. A male voice Logan recognizes as the head of security answers professionally, "How may I help you Veronica?"

Veronica, using her FBI attitude, starts, "I have reason to believe an attempt will be made to kidnap Logan in the next few days." She carries on, "It will be after a ruse of being asked to go surfing or over to a friend's mansion to play poker." Pausing for effect she adds, "I anticipate he will thrown into a car and driven either to Mexico or to the area of the LA airport where the private planes are housed. From there he will taken to a foreign country where there will be an attempt at deprogramming."

David, unsure what Veronica is talking about, questions, "Do you have some specific information regarding Mr. Echolls' kidnappers?"

"Yes," she tells him briskly, "I am sure that they will all be male, between 25 and 30 years of age, arrogant in the belief that they will not get caught or prosecuted, and sure in the knowledge that they must rescue their friend from a certain gold digging bitch who is going to ruin his life." She turns from Logan keeping her phone away from his grab and adds quickly, "I think we should double the security on Logan until the wedding."

His longer reach allows him to take the phone from her and say before he hangs up, "We are doubling security on Veronica to make sure she doesn't try and run before the wedding."

The long time head of security left on the other end of a phone has to smile at the antics of the newly engaged couple.

Logan laughing tosses Veronica's phone to the seat across from them and pulls her in for a kiss. Deprogramming indeed! Most of his Neptune friends are used to his relationship with Veronica and have accepted that they are together. He doubts any of them will be surprised that they are getting married. If anything, her friends will be asking her if she is sure she wants to marry him. He starts to tickle her just before they kiss and he loves the sound of her giggles as she defends herself.

Reluctantly Veronica agrees for Logan to issue a press release that they are engaged. He shows her the picture of them on the balcony that he had the background removed so they are posing in front of a grey background. She understands that pictures of them together and her ring will appear so it is probably better to announce it and then refuse all interviews. She wears her ring on a chain around her neck while at work and for the most part, her engagement is a non entity to her team. Mitch and Phil are not surprised so Veronica surmises that they knew Logan bought a ring. The others are happy for her but since she was already living with Logan, things don't really change for her.

It is different for Logan though. He works in the entertainment industry and has to make appearances even as a writer. As well his foundation relies on good publicity and needs the donations from the public and private sector to function. Skilled at answering reporters' questions, Logan easily talks about work or his Foundation but he doesn't talk about Veronica, her work or their personal life. He and his publicist firmly declined offers of joint interviews and Logan when interviewed only talks about his work or Foundation. He skims over any questions about his personal life. He cites that he is busy with his latest writing project and Veronica is busy at work but the truth is, he is not interested in having a public celebration of their engagement. They did have the family over and Mrs. H. cooked a wonderful meal for Keith, Alicia, Wallace, his girlfriend and some of their friends. Mac and Casey both came with dates. Veronica framed one of the pictures of she and Logan posing in front of the sand proposal and put it on their mantle. The other pictures were put in an album. Logan has a framed picture of them that night in his office.

Once the original hoopla is over, the two settle back into their lives together. Funny enough, Logan is working long hours trying to finish the needed re writes for the screen play he is doing. Frustrated, he knows he can't please all the actors and the director but sometimes he feels like he isn't pleasing anyone in this film.

Veronica gets home from work and lets Logan work. She pulls him away when he seems the most frustrated but otherwise gives him space to get his job done. Logan crawls into bed well after midnight after a long session with one of the director's assistants and edges closer to his warm, wonderful smelling fiancé. She murmurs as he wraps his arms around her but immediately falls back into a sound sleep. As he feels sleep overtake him, he has to admit that it is really odd that it is his work that is causing them to be apart. He would have guessed it would be her delving into a case that would make it so he didn't have quality time with her.

The following evening Logan is sitting in his office waiting for a phone call with feedback regarding the latest revisions when he hears Veronica arrive home. He gets up to go and greet her. Glancing at his watch he sees that she is home on time. He knows she will be happy to find that Mrs. H. left them her home made spaghetti sauce in the warmer. All they have to do is make the pasta and heat the home made garlic bread. The salad is in the fridge. She turns from lock box in the hall closet and smiles when she sees Logan. "Hello stranger," she greets him.

Grimacing he goes to apologize and she cuts him off with a kiss. She says, "I miss spending time with you but I understand that right now you are very busy." She adds easily, "I am kind of hungry because I missed lunch today. Do you have time to eat soon?"

Relieved that she is not upset, Logan shares, "Now is actually good for me. I am waiting for a call on the latest script revisions."

Veronica leads the way into the kitchen as she asks, "Is the red-headed prima donna still unhappy with the amount of lines she has?"

Shaking his head Logan talks about how now she wants to have a scene where she talks to herself explaining her motivations to the audience. Veronica smirks and listens as Logan talks about how even if he writes the ridiculous scene, it will end up on the cutting room floor anyways.

They work together getting their supper ready as Logan talks about how it must have been a nightmare for the screenplay writers for the movies his father and Connor filmed. He adds, "Fortunately they were mostly action so they didn't have to worry about the dialogue as much."

Just as they sit down to eat, Logan's phone rings. He audibly sighs and says, "Sorry V. I'll come and talk to you later."

Veronica watches him answer his phone and walk out of the room towards his office. She turns reaches for the remote for the television and settles in to eat her delicious dinner. She will warm up dinner for Logan later. By the sounds of it, he is going to be a while.

The following day at work, Veronica sits across from Lester reading the reports from the agents that interviewed the people at the party that their latest victim disappeared from. She frowns as she reads the same name over and over but there is no interview with this man. Who is this guy? She starts writing down names of people at the party who mentioned James Martin. She is going to need to talk to them again. She needs to see if anyone got a picture of this guy and if not, she needs to get a composite of him. Then she needs to find him.

Logan talks with his agent on the phone. He says, "I will talk to Veronica and get back to you. My next project will really depend on how far away the wedding is. I can do a larger project if the wedding is next year and perhaps I can take some time off if the wedding is sooner." He smiles as he listens and answers back, "I am not sure that I want to do another screen play. This one has really soured my taste for it... well the revision part of the process anyways." After he hangs up from his call, he sits back in his chair and looks around his office. He loves all the pictures that Veronica has hung. His life is there; pictures from his childhood to now. He looks over at the picture of his engagement to Veronica and smiles. No matter how frustrated he is with revisions or issues at the Foundation, he only has to look at pictures of his life with Veronica now and he is instantly happy. He is living with Veronica Mars and they are engaged. If he lost everything else; his screenwriting career and his Foundation, he would still be lucky. He needs to make some time to talk to Veronica. They need to set a date for their wedding and start the preparations. Plus he needs to talk to Veronica about her mother when he has time to spend with her. He believes that she will be upset but he still wants to talk to her about it.

Veronica snaps her mouth closed as she looks at her fiancé. Security has found her mother. She had not expected this when Logan told her he had something he wanted to talk to her about. Truthfully she doesn't think about her mother all that much anymore. She talks to her father frequently. He, Alicia, Wallace and Daryl are her family; they will be there for her if she needs them and she would do anything for them. When she thinks of special holidays and family time, she thinks about she and Logan being with them.

Logan had carefully explained that security checks out everyone who could affect their lives. He adds, "Lianne Reynolds is your biological mother and falls into the category of people that affect our lives."

She had looked back at him obviously upset, "Don't you think I could have tracked her down if I wanted to?"

Nodding his agreement he simply tells her, "You could have but you wouldn't."

"I stay out of your family business. Why are you interfering in mine?" she asked angrily.

Immediately Logan's tone changes to reprimanding, "So your father is my family but your mother isn't. Is Alicia my mother? Are Wallace and Daryl my brothers? Perhaps I don't understand the rules. You should explain them to me."

She retorts, "You know my past history with her. This isn't the same thing."

"We can't change our families no matter how much we wish we could. She is your mother whether she ever chooses to be part of our lives or not." Dialing his tone down, Logan takes a deep breath and steps closer to the woman he loves. "This isn't about making her a part of our lives. This is about dealing with this issue for you."

Still upset she asks, "So now you are my fiancé, you get to decide when I should," she makes finger quotes, "deal with my issues?"

"Veronica," he says using all four syllables of her name. He steps into her space seemingly unfazed by her anger and upset. She stiffens but he reaches out and puts his arm around her and then reaches up with his other hand to gently brush the hair from her face. "Any issue of yours becomes an issue for me. If you are upset, I feel it in my heart." He kisses her forehead and then tilts her chin up to look into her eyes. "Her leaving affected you at a time when you were very vulnerable. We have a lot of issues from back then but we have both been dealing with them. If my mother's suicide or my abuse from Aaron become an issue, we will have to deal with it together. I don't have to deal with anything alone and neither do you."

His heartfelt words deflate her anger and upset somewhat. She swallows and then asks, "Why do you think I need to deal with her now?"

"Trina and Charlie are what is left of my biological family. I wish my relationship with both of them was better but I have to accept what is. I have tried to have a better relationship with Trina but she isn't interested in getting closer to me. She is only interested in what I can do for her. " He meets her gaze and adds, "Charlie still is ignoring my calls and has refused all my invitations to functions at the Foundation and get togethers here." He gently rubs her back as he explains, "I try with them. I don't hold out much hope things will change but.." he shrugs, "who knows?"

Veronica sees his pain at his relationship with his sister and Charlie. She responds and moves into his arms giving him her warmth. He is such a loving man; still trying with his sister and still sending invitations to his half brother. Logan goes on, "I think we need to make sure that you don't have any regrets about your mother."

She shakes her head and tells him, "I think I should decide if I want to talk to her or not."

Immediately he agrees, "Yes, you should. I am your friend as well as your future husband. I know you possibly better than anyone." Nodding she puts her head on Logan's broad chest and wraps her arms around him. She knows he is her best friend and he does know her better than anyone.

After a few minutes, Logan pulls away and adds, "The thing is Ronnie, I think we should go and see your mother."

"What?" she exclaims as she pulls back to look up at him. "Why?"

Gently he tells her, "She is still drinking and still in contact with Jake Kane..."

Veronica interrupts, "Yeah, that is not convincing me to want to see her."

"Look," he says softly, "She is not a good mother and she is clearly not dealing with her problems but she is what she is." He looks at her with so much love and understanding, "We could go and see her, offer her help and a way to be part of our lives. It will be up to her if she takes it or not." He adds quietly, "Either way, you will still have a wonderful father, step mother, brothers, friends and you will still be the love of my life."

"I don't know," she tells him.

He gently shares, "I have regrets about not seeing what Lilly was up to before she died and I had no idea that my mother was unhappy enough to kill herself. I let Duncan stay a zombie and I hurt you." He sighs and then carries on, "I didn't try and have a real relationship with my sister and now it seems to be too late to get close to her and of course, you know what happened with Charlie. I can't change the past but I don't want to make bad decisions now. My sister may always be self centered and never really be close to me. Charlie may never talk to me again." Leaning in to kiss her forehead he adds, "Your mother may never get help or be a real part of our lives. The important thing is that being apart from us will be their decisions. We will give them a chance to be closer to us and it will be up to them if they take it or not. We can't control that but we will know in our hearts that it was their decisions."

"I get what you are saying Logan but right now, I am not sure what I think about it. I need some time to think about what I want to do." she tells him sadly.

He nods and says, "I put the file on her in my desk with the rest of the security updates. If you want to see it, just go and read it."

She nods and goes into his arms to be held. Logan is wise enough to let this discussion go. He got to say his piece and the rest will have to be up to her. He will give her some time and let her process.

The tears flooded her eyes. This man loves her and she is so lucky. She wraps her arms around his neck and chokes out, "Thank you for being so good to me."

Relieved Logan wraps his arms around her and holds her close. He says, "All I want to do is make you happy."

"You do," she assures him, "You really do." Both are relived that they were able to navigate around the land mines in this discussion. They talked and they came to a compromise for now. They really have come a long way.

Logan thinks about how absolutely frustrated he was trying to set up his Foundation. There are so many rules to setting up and running a nonprofit organization. He thinks about all the meetings he had with lawyers, accountants, board members and the amount of road blocks that the government bureaucracy put in his way. When he decided to start the Foundation in his late mother's name, he was naïve. He thought since he was trying to help women and children in dangerous and abusive situations, the government and people who donated would be excited and want to help him. He quickly learned that it was going to be a lot of work and he was going to have to get it off the ground despite others. He thinks that the whole experience may have been good therapy for him. It taught him how to problem solve, how to get things done and how to communicate much more effectively. He really thinks that Veronica needs to deal with her feelings about her mother. He was able to get past Veronica's initial upset and get her to see that his side of the issue. More and more he is sure that he and Veronica will make it this time.

The front door bell rings. Veronica is in the kitchen with Mrs. H. helping her put the finishing touches to the fixings for the barbecue. He has to smile as Mrs. H. treats Veronica more like a favorite niece than an employer. They are working side by side. Mrs. H. is making her special hamburger patties, seasoning the steaks and making a few veggie burgers for Mac while Veronica is cutting vegetables and getting the salad ready. Mrs. H. showed the petite blonde the secret to making her famous potato salad and guacamole. The whole time they talked like family. Mrs. H. telling Veronica stories about her children and her past while Veronica talks about her family, friends and work. A few times Logan has walked through to hear them giggling together or Mrs. H. giving advice on how she thinks Veronica should handle whatever issue they are talking about. Veronica seems to really soak up attention from Alicia and Mrs. H. It warms Logan's heart to see her interactions with the two loving mother figures. He knows that it is not Mac, Casey or Wallace at the door because they usually just walk in so he opens it immediately smiling when he sees it is Peter and his wife Miranda. He ushers them inside and greets them happily. They are both in casual shorts and shirts with bags carrying their bathing suits. He says, "I set the bar up on the patio." The two greet Mrs. H. and Veronica as they walk through the kitchen area. They can see that there is going to be quite a spread for snacking and supper. Once out on the deck, Logan heads over to the bar to get them a drink while they set up their bags by two luxurious pool loungers. The view is spectacular. Each time they come over for a get together, they are both amazed at the house. Peter grew up in a beautiful mansion but he has to admit that this one is really special. He actually likes how Veronica decorated it but Miranda thinks Veronica should have let the decorator do it. As Logan brings them their drinks, he sees Wallace and his date Evette come out onto the patio area. He goes over to greet his brother-in-law with a hug and playfully hugs Evette as well. They have been dating three months and they seem happy together. Wallace greets Peter and Miranda easily introducing Evette to them both. Logan, at the bar, mixes both Miranda and Evette a martini which Evette admits she has never tried before.

Soon the pool area is filled with party goers enjoying the snacks, drinks, music and company. The doors to the library, den and master suite have key coded locks so Logan and Veronica don't have to worry about anyone getting in. Security keeps track of who comes in the front gate and have an agent at the back gate as well. Today the back gate to the beach is open so party goers can be on the beach or in the well-groomed back yard and pool area. Logan's friends are always ready to party. He has great beach access so they can surf or party on the beach and of course, his pool area is huge and perfect for parties. The music is loud and there is a big area for dancing on the other side of the pool. Mrs. H. is a great cook and there is an abundance of liquor. Logan's security team takes your keys and if you have too much to drink, they will take you home. When you come to a party at Logan's and Veronica's place, you eat drink and be merry without worrying about getting home.

Mac arrives in time for the meal. She can smell the steaks cooking and hears the loud music. Mrs. H. greets her happily and tells her that she made her some veggie burgers. Mac smiles and thanks her taking the plate out to Logan who is doing the grilling duties right now. He bounds over and gives her a quick hug taking the plate from her to put them on the grill. He says, "Ronnie is dancing and Wallace is surfing."

Mac talks to Logan about his recent play and the Foundation for a few minutes. She sees that most of his Hearst friends are there and most everyone is eating. She looks over and sees Veronica is dancing with a muscular guy she doesn't recognize. Logan sees her look and supplies, "That is Brian. He works with her."

Mac nods and comments, "He looks fit."

Logan smiles at her and retorts, "His boyfriend thinks so."

Actually Mac wasn't trying to upset Logan. She is over as often as she can with her busy work schedule. Logan and Veronica are clearly about the Love. Neither worries about the other. They are almost completely wrapped up in each other. There isn't room for anyone but family and friends. She likes how Logan looks after her friend. He is still Logan; difficult, wild and impulsive but now he is happy. She was thinking about him after they got engaged and she was trying to pinpoint the difference in him now. She finally came up with the idea that he is no longer driven by pain and the past; now he is driven by his goals. This is the Logan he was meant to be. Veronica always saw this in him. She saw so much more in him than others. It turns out she was right; Logan is a great friend and she likes so much about him.

Veronica sees that Mac has arrived and a few minutes later she bounds up to greet her friend. Mac happily hugs her friend and watches as she hugs her fiancé from behind and then proceeds to inspect the steaks on the grill to see which one she wants. Laughing Logan places the requested meat on a plate and puts Mac's veggie burgers on a plate. He sends the two hungry women on their way to the buffet.

Veronica and Mac sit at one of the tables by the pool and Veronica asks about how work is going and she is particularly interested in the guys Mac works with. Mac parries her questions but she can see that her best girlfriend is not fooled. She can sense that there is someone at work that Mac is interested in. However she does changed the subject. They talk about family and Mac updates her on how Lauren and Ryan are doing as well as both sets of parents. She also tells her Madison's latest news. Veronica talks about her family and work.

After a few minutes two of the fellow agents Veronica works with sit with them. Veronica introduces Mac to them. Bryan has been with his significant other for five years and Tom just started dating his girlfriend a few weeks ago. The talk around the table is lively and fun filled. The two men obviously enjoy working with the tiny blonde and she has no issues about teasing them back. Tom starts telling Mac a story about Veronica interviewing a suspect. Bryan takes up the story telling about them being behind the glass and only about ten feet from her when Veronica starts to annoy the guy about his possible motivations for murdering the three women. Knowing they have enough evidence to convict him, Veronica clearly enjoyed telling him that he was going to spend the rest of his life in prison and there wouldn't be any women for him to kill. His lawyer spoke up too late as the suspect was enraged at Veronica's taunts that he only got off when he could dominate. He stood up and very quietly told Veronica that he could kill her before help could get in. She outright laughed at him stating, "I am not afraid of you." He got up and ran over to her. She dodged his reach for her and twisted his arm behind his back slamming him face first onto the interrogation table before the two men could get in there to defend her. He needed five stitches on his chin from hitting the table. Tom laughing finished the story, "To add insult to injury, Veronica charged him with assaulting a federal officer and the DA added them to the other list of charges."

Tom hearing a song he likes, takes his girlfriend to the dance area. Bryan asks Mac to dance and Veronica goes out to the dance floor with Bryan's significant other Zack. They are having a great time and they exchange partners a few dances later. They are having a dance off and Logan looking over can see Veronica is taunting one of her coworkers. They are all laughing and enjoying the day.

Logan has given up grilling chores to Steve and arrives at the pool area just in time to see Bryan pick up Veronica and jump into the pool with her. She shrieks and Bryan gets away from the upset blonde by swimming to the deep end not hindered by a dress over top of his swimsuit like Veronica is. Sopping wet she walks out the steps at the shallow end and vows revenge.

Amused Logan walks over and gives her a hand to help her walk up the steps in her heavy dress. She smiles her thanks and pouts up at him about needing to change. Logan leans in and offers to accompany her upstairs to their room to help her change. Now laughing at his teasing she puts a hand on his bare chest and tells him that she would like that very much.

Leaning in to kiss her, he tells her that he does want to dance with her when she comes back down. She pulls off her dress leaving her in a green and blue bikini with boy cut shorts. She gets Logan to wring out her dress and she takes it into the house to hang it in the laundry room.

When she comes back out of the house she has shorts over her bikini bottom and she sees that Wallace and his girlfriend have arrived back from trying to surf. They both are starved so Veronica accompanies them over to the area where the grill and buffet are set up. She introduces them to Steve who asks them about how they did surfing. Evette really enjoyed trying to surf telling Veronica that it is a lot more difficult than she thought. Casey had been down at the beach and taught her the basics before she tried to surf. Steve encourages Evette to try again soon to keep what she has learned in her mind. Veronica asks Steve about his new boat and he happily tells her that he entered another race this weekend in San Francisco.

The group looks around after they fill their plates. Wallace got a steak, Evette got a burger and Veronica just loaded up on desserts. They sit down at an empty table by the pool. After a few minutes, they are joined by Casey who came back to the house just after them.

Veronica looks around in satisfaction. This get together is a success. Of course their mansion is a great place for parties with its large pool area, decks and access to the beach. Mrs. H. is a great cook and everyone is enjoying the afternoon outdoors. She looks over and sees that Logan is dancing with a few of his buddies' girlfriends. His Hearst friends are enjoying the open bar and great food. There is a lot of laughter and lively conversation.

She looks back over to see that Logan is waving at her. He wants to dance with her. She is not going to pass up a chance to be in his arms. She immediately excuses herself from where she is sitting and heads over to the dance area.

Derek looks at the hosts of the party dancing together. The couple is focused on each other and, like usual with them, the world slips away. Logan is such a good friend. After a conversation they had last year about him starting his own club, Logan contacted him and asked to buy in. His money was a huge help and it really allowed him to build the club he wanted in the section of LA that would have the best customer base. In addition, Logan allowed Derek to tell people that he was one of the owners. The opening was last week the publicity for the club coincided with Logan and Veronica's engagement announcement. When Logan was interviewed about the club, he admitted to being a silent partner stating that Derek was the brains and the drive behind the project; he just knows a good investment when he sees one. He charmed the reporter by adding that he and Veronica love to go out with friends for good food, drinks and to listen to good music. Teasing he had added, "I would never turn down dancing with my fiancé." The publicity had been really helpful. Logan, Veronica and his friends were all there for the opening and thankfully it was a huge success. Derek watching the newly engaged couple has to admit that this is the happiest he has ever seen his friend.
