Warning: There's a lot of talking in this chapter, and I'm typing this because I realised that not a lot of my chapters have this much conversing and I'm not sure if it'll be well liked :c
"Oh, Add! I thought you didn't want to join us?" Elesis says with surprise in her voice as Add strides towards them.
"I decided to join after I heard someone was going." His voice resonates in Eve's head and she steals a tiny glance at him, before looking back onto the ground.
"Yeah! I told him to come!" Rena squeals proudly with her hand on his arm. Elsword glares at him, saying nothing as he walks out the gate. Eve could tell that he did not like Add, but then again, she doesn't either. She hates the chills he gives her more than frequently.
"Rena! Look out!" Raven's husky voice is heard throughout the plains as he yells and flings himself forward, knocking away a huge Nasod scorpion with ease using his Nasod arm. Eve reminds herself briefly to ask him how he had gotten it in the first place. Rena jumps away, her white dress and golden blonde hair taking flight along with her tall, slim body right before the scorpion can land it's stinger on her, allowing Raven to knock it aside.
"Be careful." Elsword tells Eve as he knows it's her first time. She nods in response and her eyes follow the scorpion as it flies away into the background, wondering where it will land and where it came from. Amazed at the strength put out by his arm, she looks around to see that everyone else remains unperturbed.
"Up there." He points and looks upwards, as if reading her thoughts. "Ever since the El Gem exploded, these creatures somehow stopped trying to live peacefully with us. We're not even sure if anything's ever going to happen to make things the way it was before again.
"Hmm." Eve looks around in search of deactivated Nasods that might be of use to her. Moby and Remy hover near her shoulders and steal glances at Add, as they know she isn't paying attention. He winks at them, causing them to immediately whirr in glee and making Eve glare at him from the corner of her eye. Traitors. I should deactivate the two of you.
"Okay, we're here! The heart of Altera Plains!" Elesis says and squints into a piece of paper she has in her hand, with her other hand on her waist. "So apparently we need to look for the water and fire Nasod. It says here that their names are Leviathan and Ignis."
"Why do Nasods have such fancy names?" Elsword asks and Rena smacks the back of his head.
"Anyway," Elesis clears her throat. "They're holding onto the Water Pendant and Fire Pendant, which is supposedly what is giving them extremely strong abilities. How the heck did they even get these pendants in the first place?" She looks around and waves the piece of paper in front of her.
"I think we should split up. This field is huge." Add says after his long, drawn out silence since they left home.
"You're right. We'll split into pairs and look for the Nasods. I'm guessing that they'll be in two of the nine areas here." Elesis answers and points to the map.
"Why do we even have a map? We don't even know where we are." Elsword says and Rena once again smacks the back of his head.
Elesis shakes her head and heads straight with Raven, leaving the four of them behind. Rena turns to look at Add, waiting for him to glance her way and hoping to be able to be paired with him but realises that he is looking at an absent-minded Eve. Elsword rolls his eyes and drags his childhood friend towards the other direction without a word, despite her words of protest and her continuous smacking of his head.
"W-wait!" Eve stutters after realising a little too lately that everyone has gone in separate directions. Except, of course, the white haired man next to her. His magenta eyes once again drill holes in her as her little drones happily hover between the two of them, not sensing the heavy tension.
I'm so sorry this update took 50 years! T^T (about a month, to be exact but not really). I'm not even going to explain why I've been so late on this update because I don't want to sit here and give excuses! Just take my apology and accept it! (cries) I hope this chapter isn't too draggy, because I feel that it kinda is. The last thing that I want is for me to produce shitty chapters and let you down.
