Chapter 20: Fighting the Monsters

I do not not own Naruto. The series belongs to their rightful owners.

Kakashi was pissed.

No sooner had the engagement with the Cursed Seal Army began, it had ended. But Naruto quickly disengaged from his position and gave it over to Rock Lee. Pointless, seeing the Assault Unit practically overtook their enemy. Then again, Kakashi assumed that Naruto had gone off to confront Sasuke.

He can't sit still. Couldn't have waited or had a party accompany with him to arrest Sasuke.

Even with that thought, Kakashi was positive that Naruto could match Sasuke. But nonetheless. This was Sasuke they were dealing with. And Sasuke was a cunning person.

Shikamaru followed the Hokage out into the Village and made way to the walls, but crossed paths with the Assault unit and the remains of Naruto's clones, Lee leading the way.

"Lord Hokage!" Lee shouted, to which Kakashi winced at.

"Lower your voice, Lee. I'm right here." Lee bowed low, to which Kakashi sweatdropped.

"I apologize, Kakashi. But since Naruto has given me this position, I am nervous for the things to come." Kakashi shook his head.

"Don't bow to me, Lee. I hate it when you guys do that. Though, I'll agree with you that this situation is nerve wracking." Kakashi said as he walked past them.

"The Knucklehead-" Kiba started to say but Kakashi raised his hand.

"I know what Naruto is up to. I'm not concerned about him at the moment. For now, it's about Sasuke."

"And not the Army?" Shino asked. Kakashi shrugged. In truth, he had yet to receive a confirmation from Sai on whether the army had retreated. And there were no reports from the defenses. So for the moment, things were safe and sound.

"Ink Eye to Copy Cat. Reporting in."

"Report." Kakashi said over the radio.

"Enemy has retreated. They have abandoned the battlefield." Kakashi frowned at what Sai had said.

"Abandoned the battlefield?" Kakashi questioned.

"Affirmative, Lord Hokage." Kakashi hummed in disapproval.

"Return to the Village, Ink Eye. I fear things are going to turn for the worse."

"Roger that." Shikamaru walked up to Kakashi's side.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"The enemy has left the vicinity of Konoha. They no longer pose a threat." Shikamaru's face matched Kakashi's. Though Hinata spoke up before Shikamaru could.

"But then, what about Naruto and Sasuke?" She asked. Kakashi thought about the two of them, recalling their recent mission to finding the myth.

Naruto returned. But so did Sasuke. If this whole thing was a trap, Sasuke would have taken his sweet time with Naruto back at the Valley, killing him off. But he would have needed to have led the army against Konoha much later. But then there's still the curse mark on Naruto. Which means that if Naruto does kill Sasuke, Naruto's own anger is going to spark the Cursed Seal into effect. Sasuke's death more or less meaning Naruto will go into a darker state than he had with Suigetsu. And thus meaning Konoha's destruction. Maybe even the Shinobi Nations at risk as well.

"Shikamaru, grab Sakura for me." Kakashi said as he made way to the front of the gate. "I need her." Shikamaru nodded.

"Of course." Then made his way to the Medical Unit. Sai flew down with his ink summon and landed.

"Lord Hokage." Sai greeted as he got off. Kakashi nodded.

"Odd for the enemy to retreat, don't you think?" Kakashi asked. Sai remained expressionless as he walked past Kakashi.

"Indeed. But this would be a perfect opportunity for Sasuke to execute a second phase, while we are trying to figure out what Sasuke is up to." Kakashi frowned.

"But he's in the middle of a fight with Naruto."

"That doesn't mean he doesn't have somebody else to lead his forces." Kakashi shook his head.

"While that would be true in other cases Sai, the fact is we are dealing with Sasuke. He trusted a select group, and even then he knew they weren't going to be able to handle us."

"So then there is an alternate plan. One with Naruto involved."

It shocked Kakashi that Sai had figured it out, but it didn't jar him.

"Yes … I think that Sasuke has a plan that involves Naruto."

"Guess he wasn't the only one." Kakashi turned around and saw Sakura walking up towards him and Sai with Shikamaru walking behind her.

"Naruto assumed that Sasuke had a plan that involved him in some way, and said to be prepared for it." Sakura said as she folded her arms. Kakashi's eyes narrowed.

"And did Naruto perhaps give you specific instructions for such a moment to occur?" Kakashi asked. Sakura's eyes were cast downwards, seemingly sad and angry at the same time.

Naruto did. But only gave it to Sakura. Meaning they were instructions meant for her alone. Perhaps for the situation Sai and I have concluded.

"Does it involve the Cursed Seal, Sakura?" Kakashi asked softly. Sai looked confused while Shikamaru looked bewildered.

"The Cursed Seal! Again?" Shikamaru asked. Sakura didn't respond. Kakashi sighed.

"So Naruto knew about the potential of being part of Sasuke's plan. And went ahead to fight him anyway."

"So there should have been a company with him then!" Shikamaru said angrily. "I can't believe he would risk his life to fight Sasuke solo. It's selfish and arrogant of him."

"Naruto is the only one who can fight Sasuke on equal footing." Sakura said quietly. "And he told me should he lose control over himself after he killed Sasuke that I have to kill him to prevent future complications.

It was deathly silent. Kakashi held his breath with Sakura's statement in mind.

Why Sakura, Naruto? After all this time. And you ask her to do something damn near impossible. To kill a teammate. To kill her best friend. To kill a person she loves and is loved in return. She couldn't kill you even if you destroyed the Village. Why?

Because Naruto has faith in Sakura. The faith that will see Konoha live to tell another tale. Because Naruto knows that Sakura is strong enough to do such a thing.

But Sakura isn't! She couldn't do it to Sasuke. What makes you think she can do it with Naruto?

Look at who we are talking about. Naruto has a strong belief in his friends. The people that make him strong. He realizes that they are the only power that can truly bring him down.

Kakashi's mental battle dominated his mind for a bit before he sighed.

"Shikamaru, retrieve Defenses and bring them back here. Sai, gather the Shinobi and tell them to spread out throughout the Village, and prepare for a second attack. Sakura, you're with me." Shikamaru and Sai moved to follow their orders as Sakura followed Kakashi to the center of the Village, before he stopped her and turned to her.

"You do realize the weight Naruto has given you, right?" Kakashi asked. Sakura tightened her lips and bowed her head.

"I do, Sensei."

"Then I'm about to give you the toughest assignment you will receive in your career as a kunoichi. To comply with Naruto's request."

The mood was silent, and Sakura shut her eyes and shook her head.

"Don't tell me what I have to do, Kakashi." Sakura said defiantly. Kakashi put his hand on her shoulder.

"You think I want to give you this assignment?" Kakashi asked. Sakura swatted his hand away and looked at Kakashi in the eye angry."

"But you're going to give it to me anyway, right? You're going to say that Naruto will pose a threat to the Village if his prediction comes true. And that I'm going to have to be the one who deals the killing blow. Do you know how that is going to impact me, Kakashi?" Sakura was close to the point of yelling and crying.

"I do Sakura. You're going to hate yourself for killing him. But you will see that you complied to his wishes. If anybody else killed him, you will resent them for the rest of your life. And I'd argue that you would leave the Village out of hatred, because they were not his teammate. His best friend. The problem is Sakura, no matter the option, there is a consequence. A negative one."

Kakashi let his words sink into her head, but before she could reply, they heard a loud shout overhead. Both shinobi looked overhead and saw two forces collide with each other, an electric being and a lone man. The lone man was losing ground, but through another shout succeeded in pushing the electric beast back and dissipated it.

"Naruto…" Kakashi heard Sakura mutter. But then they saw another man appear in front of Naruto. And then they heard a piercing scream echo over the Village, and Naruto's body fall, with the other man following suit.

Kakashi quickly grabbed Sakura to prevent her from going after Naruto.

"Let me go, Kakashi!" Sakura yelled. Kakashi put his hand over her mouth.

"Now is not the time. For now, we are the element of surprise. Something tells me Sasuke succeeded in his plan, and you are the only person who can turn the tide now, Sakura." Sakura ripped Kakashi's hand away from her.

"Naruto's hurt! He needs me now!"

"You're letting your emotions get the better of you! Calm down, Sakura! Assess the situation, don't be reckless like Naruto!" Sakura pulled away from Kakashi's grasp and sprinted away from him. Kakashi groaned and followed suit.

Sakura has to be the one who deals the killing blow to Naruto. Naruto specifically asked her to do so. He trusts her to do it.

But the matter now is whether or not she can do it.

Kakashi and Sakura approached the area where Naruto was falling, but before wither could jump to grab him, Naruto flipped and landed on top of the building. Kakashi froze at what he saw.

Though his clothes and jacket were still intact, Naruto's body had undergone a complete transformation. A humanized Kurama. The nine tails protruding where his tail bone was, fox ears pointed above his head. Whiskers, and a snout accompanied by sharp teeth. The gray iris was present on Naruto and he scanned the crowd, forming a wicked grin on his face.

"And it only took twenty two years for my dream to become a reality." Naruto's voice was very much akin to Kurama's, though slightly higher pitched and more raspy. Sasuke landed beside Naruto and recovered, looking over Konoha with a similar grin to Naruto.

"Look upon what has become of your hero, Konoha! Now under my complete control, is the monster you truly feared!" Sasuke laughed manically, to which Kakashi shuddered.

"You bastard!" Sakura screamed. Kakashi groaned and placed himself between Sakura and his two students. But it still caught both of their attentions.

"Just the person I was looking for." Sasuke said, his grin forming into a smile. Kakashi growled.

"Don't even think about it Sasuke." Kakashi said. Sasuke chuckled.

"I will if I want the bitch dead. Naruto, kill Sakura for good."

"As you wish, Master." Naruto went down to all fours and jumped up into the air, then proceeded to dive bomb over Kakashi and Sakura. Sakura was frozen by Naruto's rapid approach, but Kakashi steeled himself for what he had to do. As Naruto neared and extended his claws, Kakashi jumped up to meet Naruto and swiftly placed a hard kick to Naruto's head, sending him off in another direction. Kakashi recovered, and turned to Sakura.

"Sakura, you need to retaliate. Regardless if Naruto is our friend." Kakashi looked to Sasuke, but he remained where he was, watching Naruto recover, and make the lunge once more. But as Kakashi prepped himself to counter, Lee jumped onto the scene and swatted Naruto like a fly with a kick.

"You will have to try harder than that!" Lee said as he readied himself for the next attack. "The Naruto I know is far more intelligent." Naruto walked back into the scene with a grin on his face.

"Trust me, you don't want to see me use my tactics against you." Naruto changed his target to Lee, then proceeded to attack in low sweeps. But Lee's training had him prepared, back stepping and cartwheeling over the limb sweeps to avoid Naruto's attacks. Not yet making the move to strike, as to assess his opponent.

Lee is the only one as of now who can combat Naruto's speed and power. Kakashi looked to Sasuke. Then the rest of us can tackle Sasuke. And break Naruto out of his control.

By now, Lee was countering Naruto's attacks, successfully pushing Naruto to his limit, impressing Kakashi.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, Naruto. You are disappointing me." To Sasuke's comment, Naruto growled.

"You haven't seen my full potential, master." Naruto called out. "I will showcase it soon enough."

"And now is not a good time?" Sasuke said. "Delve deeper into the Cursed Seal, find your untapped power within. Get past him and kill Sakura." Naruto jumped back, closed his eyes for a moment, letting Lee catch his breath and prep himself for the next bout, before Naruto vanished and kicked Lee off to the side, sending him into a building.

"Lee!" Kakashi and Sakura called out. Naruto grinned as he set his sights on the two of them.

"Your turn." Naruto said with malice. Sakura stepped into Kakashi's peripheral.

"This isn't you Naruto! Snap out of it!" Sasuke laughed.

"This is all amusing! Watching you call out to your only hope of saving this pathetic Village makes me laugh!"

Kakashi paled.

"This is going to be difficult." Kakashi muttered. Naruto lunged once again, but as Kakashi and Sakura readied themselves, Kiba and Akamaru came into the picture knocking Naruto away again.

"You've gotta step up your game, man." Kiba said with a grin. "The Naruto I fought had finesse. You're raw recklessness." The rest of Sakura's classmates joined Kiba's side, all ready to take on the duo. Sasuke laughed.

"Naruto and I were the only ones capable of matching each other blow for blow … what makes you think you have the same skill set?"

"We are one." Lee said as he rose from the rubble. "And that's more than enough to take you down." Lee was slightly bloodied, but the determination in his eyes, Kakashi could see the fire, what Might Guy would have called the Flames of Youth. Sasuke grinned.

"Once upon a time, I did believe in that. But with what I possess now, even Naruto, you are all ants compared to me."

Naruto came from behind Kiba and the others with his claws extended, causing the other to jump out of the way. Kiba, Akamaru, Lee, and Chojii stood before Naruto, ready to engage in combat with him. Hinata and Shikamaru shifted their attentions to Sasuke. Kakashi groaned.

Those two are going to get themselves killed. Kakashi proceeded to jump after them. Sakura went to join Lee's group.

Sasuke grimaced as Hinata lunged at him, something that shocked Kakashi as she was generally the one to hold back in a fight, the only other time she had put on a frontal assault being her fight against her cousin and in the War.

Shikamaru hung back and studied Sasuke's movements, while Kakashi supported Hinata.

With each arm thrust, Sasuke simply sidestepped, and swung his katana to stave Hinata from pursuing a frontal assault. Kakashi came in with a kunai to stop Sasuke at mid swing, and Hinata pressed the advantage, causing Sasuke to fall back.

"Perhaps you're angry for what I've done to Naruto?" Sasuke said. Kakashi picked up on the fact that he was talking to Hinata.

"Hinata, don't listen to him!" Kakashi heard Shikamaru in the background, undoubtedly having picked up on what Kakashi had as well.

"Always second best to everything. I'll be honest, you're just like Naruto. Chasing after a love that was unrequited. And ultimately wasting the potential time to hone the skills that could have been enough to defeat me."

"We're not wasted!" Hinata said as she stepped up the speed of her blows. "It's because of our goals that we become strong!"

"But it's because you stick to your goals that you become narrow minded of the world around you. That you forget the people who stand beside ready to support." Sasuke silently said as he kicked Kakashi away from him.

Damn bastard … Kakashi recovered and charged once more.

"I'll never forget Naruto!" Hinata shouted as she finally touched Sasuke, causing him to grunt and gave Hinata the advantage she needed and allowing her to hit Sasuke's chakra points, causing him to bare his teeth. Kakashi's eyes widened.

The girl … we all severely underestimated her. As Hinata touched Sasuke's shoulder and eye chakra points, Sasuke finally pushed Hinata away.

"You made a grave mistake, bitch. Because now I cannot control Naruto, and as thus, he is now a true monster focused on the last instruction I gave him. Nothing will bring him back." Kakashi's eyes widened, and turned to Sakura.

"Sakura! Get the hell out of here!" Sakura's brows furrowed.

"I'm not abandoning my friends!" She shouted back as Naruto lunged for her, to which she sidestepped him. Kakashi growled.

"You have your orders! Do it, or I'll have someone handle Naruto instead!" Sakura gave Kakashi a look of deep loathing, but Kakashi held his ground.

"Once you gain enough distance, make preparations needed to kill Naruto!" Sakura's eyes widened, and her movements slowed, giving an opening for Naruto.

"MOVE, SAKURA!" Kakashi practically screamed. Sakura jumped out of Naruto's way, and Lee came in.

"Kaimon!" Kakashi's eyes widened now.

Not the Gates!

But it was the first gate, and Lee's potential rose, now becoming more than a match for Naruto.

"Go Sakura! Now is your chance!" Lee shouted over his shoulder as he fended off Naruto. Sakura was defiant, but Kakashi jumped towards Sakura.

"I'm not giving you an option," Kakashi said as he dragged her unwillingly. Sakura tried to kick back, but Kakashi ignored her.

"You've got five minutes to make preparations." Kakashi said as he pushed her towards the gates. Sakura recovered and clenched her fist, seemingly ready to punch Kakashi out of the way.

"I'm not leaving my teammates!" Sakura said as she stepped forward. Kakashi stood his ground.

"If Naruto has faith in you to do this Sakura, then do it for him! He values this Village and the lives in it, what would happen if he saw us in ruin! He sees himself as a threat that cannot be contained!" Sakura stopped in her tracks as she and Kakashi looked each other in the eyes, and Kakashi noted weariness in her eyes. A sign that she wanted things to be over with. A longing to be done with the task of fending off threats to the Village. To spend her life with the person she loves.

The general conclusion of Team Seven's tiring chase; we all want it to end. Even Sasuke.

"Don't tell me to kill him, Kakashi." Sakura whispered. Kakashi bowed his head.

"But I have to."

"I won't kill him."

"And you think you can get him back from the Cursed Seal?"

"Even if it means my own life. I did it before. Without flinching."

"It's different. If he kills you … I don't know what will happen."

"Neither do I. But sometimes, we can't simply call it quits." Kakashi raised his head and Sakura had her back turned, walking towards the gates.

"Naruto's nindo was to never go back on his word. No matter what the circumstances were. So… Naruto will chase after me once he gets past Lee, to kill me on orders of Sasuke. Then what will I do? Follow Naruto's nindo of never going back on the shinobi way? Or create my own? To always be beside the ones I love through thick and thin." Kakashi said nothing, sighing as he turned back towards the fighting.

"I've wasted too much time exchanging words with you Sakura, the Village needs me to confront Sasuke and Naruto. I can only trust that you will do the right thing, Sakura."

"I will do what I must." Kakashi heard over his shoulder. He sighed, then jumped forwards, not looking forward to dealing with Naruto and Sasuke.

Lee was still contending with Naruto, who was looking more ferocious, and Lee had seemingly been pushed further along the Gates, perhaps at the third. But Lee still seemed to be in control of the fight, so Kakashi was positive that Lee could hold out long enough for Sakura.

Sasuke on the other hand was tied down, under the shadow possession from Shikamaru, and surrounded by his former classmates. However, Sasuke wasn't straining against the bounds, perhaps knowing that it was futile, even sporting a small grin. Kakashi jumped in front of him and looked down.

"Years ago, I scolded you for using the Chidori against your comrades. But now I stand as the Hokage and you the missing nin with one of my shinobi under your instructions." Sasuke chuckled.

"It would seem that your Village is in quite a predicament. I'm curious as to how they will fare once I am free from these bindings."

"Good luck with that." Shikamaru said with a grimace. "I have you under a possession and I can kill you at any moment. Not to mention the best of the best shinobi surrounding you. You're going to have a hard time getting out of here alive, Uchiha." Sasuke's small grin never left.

"One of me and about nine of you. What am I going to do, I wonder?" Kakashi knelt before Sasuke.

"So let's talk for old time's sake. Naruto, was he part of your plan?"

"Indeed."

"From the very beginning?"

"Before he returned from his little five year trip." Kakashi nodded.

"The Kamikage. Why did you seek such a myth?" The younger ninja looked among each other confused.

"Because it was a power needed to destroy the Shinobi Nations."

"Wouldn't the Cursed Seal have been enough?"

"Perhaps … but I wanted the power for myself. I knew the Kamikage would be too much for me to handle,"

"So you let Naruto take him on." Kakashi finished, to which Sasuke confirmed with a nod.

"The Kamikage was an Uchiha, and the Sharingan he possessed was mutated and had particular abilities I sought." Kakashi let the moment sink in.

An Uchiha the Kamikage. What a surprise… good thing he didn't side with Madara, that wouldn't have gone well.

"And what kind of abilities are those?" Shikamaru asked.

"One that copies Kekkai Genkai and other abilities designated for the select few, and another to imprint one's own DNA onto another person. Allowing such Kekkai Genkai to move freely among others." Kakashi's eyes widened.

It would change everything. Naruto defeated the Kamikage, and the Kamikage gave him those abilities, including the Sharingan. Now Sasuke would have Naruto give him those powers, and not to mention Naruto's connections to the Bijuu, will make Sasuke virtually invincible. Not to mention what other powers the Kamikage possessed.

"You're not going to get them, Sasuke." Kakashi said as he got up and looked to Naruto and Lee's fight, still ongoing. Sasuke laughed, which disturbed Kakashi. It was rare that he heard the Uchiha laugh. And it was never to make fun of Naruto. Only when things were going his way, and he knew it.

"Kakashi, you overestimate what the Village can do by themselves. Fact is, Naruto was their only hope for survival."

"Yet Lee is handling him pretty well." Shikamaru commented. Sasuke's grin slightly faded.

"True. Your friend over there is putting up a great fight for Naruto. And I'll admit, had I led a different path, Lee would be the strongest shinobi on the planet. But the fact is, I chose the path that led me to power. A power far superior than that of taijutsu. One that lets me hold Naruto under my will." Kakashi raised an eyebrow.

"Your will?" Kakashi asked. Sasuke chuckled. Before Kakashi could inquire any further, he heard Lee's strangled cry, and his body quickly spun as Naruto vanished out of their sight.

"Lee!" Kakashi cried out as he approached the young shinobi with haste. Tenten, Sai, and Shino joined him, Kakashi concerned that his friend's student could be in danger. When he caught sight of him, Kakashi exhaled reluctantly.

Lee had fared worse. And though his body was covered in scratches, he was inhaling and exhaling deeply. He seemed to be in good condition.

"Just before I could go any further …" Lee whispered. Tenten approached him and picked him up. Kakashi placed his hand on his shoulder.

"You did your job, Lee. Now it's Sakura's turn."

"Do you think she can?" Sai asked as he summoned a bird to transport Lee. Kakashi closed his eyes and thought for a moment.

"We'll see, Sai. For now, all I can do is have some faith in her … and Naruto." Kakashi returned to the spot they had Sasuke restrained, who had a big smirk on his face.

"And the beast is loose. Now Naruto is on his way to kill Sakura once and for all, completing his complete devotion to me."

"You underestimate Sakura." Kakashi said. Sasuke shook his head.

"No. I'm quite aware of what she can do. In reality, you over estimate her. She lacks the power to overcome Naruto and myself. She has nothing that will defeat him.

"I disagree." Kakashi said boldly. "You missed out on the years those two have trained to get your ass back home, Sasuke. They worked hard to get you back, when everyone wanted to throw the dice. Sakura faltered, but because of Naruto, there was hope. And now here we stand with only one option. To kill you." Sasuke smiled. It was a genuine one. And it threw Kakashi off.

"I'm well aware of what those two have done for me. But the fact is, it was all for nothing. To save me, they'll have to kill me for good. They're not bringing me home."

"So you think." Kakashi growled.

"So I know, Kakashi." Sasuke said with certainty. "By overestimating what Sakura and Naruto can do, you ultimately underestimate what I can truly do to this small group of the 'finest' shinobi from Konohagakure."

When Kakashi blinked, Sasuke was gone from his bindings, including the shadow possession, throwing Shikamaru off.

"What the hell!" Shikamaru yelled. Kakashi brought his kunai up to his face, but he felt a decisive blow to his head that sent him down without much effort.

Sasuke … I can't say it enough, but damn you to hell and back!

Kakashi watched as Sasuke took down Ino, Shikamaru, and Choji with one move. Shino didn't fare as well, taking a blow to the gut and sent him flying. Kiba, Akamaru, and Hinata joined forces to take him down. But it was futile. Kiba and Akamaru were paralyzed by Sasuke's technique, and cast aside, and Hinata was the only one standing.

"I was hoping to save you for last." Sasuke said with a grin on his face. Kakashi watched Hinata attack with everything she had, only for each arm thrust to miss.

"You'll regret doing that!" Hinata said confidently. Sasuke shook his head.

"As I told you earlier, you are too narrow minded. Your friends went down without a hitch. Trying to go solo like Naruto only works for people like him and myself. Perhaps, even Sakura. As such, our team benefitted from working solo. But even then, when we reunited, we were far stronger than any team imaginable. That was our dynamic. You had a chance to work with your team, and had you done so, I'd argue that you'd have had the chance to take me down. And yet you chased a person who didn't share your feelings. Your biggest failing was that you tried to be so much like Naruto. Except he knows when he needs his friends. In the end, you ended up more like me than the love of your life." Kakashi watched Hinata's eyes widen, and her lips pull back.

"I am nothing like you!" Hinata shouted as she lunged at him. Sasuke sidestepped, and Hinata fell to the ground. Kakashi tried to get up, but the headache he had disorientated him, and prevented him from getting up.

"Then why abandon your teammates? Because they were the only chance you had of securing victory against me." Kakashi saw Sasuke hide his left hand behind his back, and prep a Chidori.

"In the beginning, you had a chance. Now look where it all went." Hinata jumped towards Sasuke, but Sasuke caught her by the throat and lifted her off the ground, choking her. Hinata was gasping for air, and Kakashi grimaced.

"Hinata!" he heard Kiba yell. Kakashi heard Sasuke's laughter as he brought the Chidori to eye level.

"I'm feeling merciful. I'll let you live long enough to see Naruto destroy the Village. I might have him kill you last, so that you can feel the wasted years pass by you as he kills you friends. But before I go … one last thing to do." Sasuke plunged the Chidori into Hinata's gut, causing Kakshi to gasp, tears coming to his eyes.

"Sasuke… goddammit."

Hinata's eyes widened from shock, and her grip slackened, causing her head to fall. Sasuke canceled the technique, leaving a gaping hole in her torso, and tossed her aside.

"No! Hinata!"

"You bastard!"

Kakashi heard this from her two teammates, and he even heard Akamaru whimper at the sight of Hinata being impaled. Sasuke paid the deed he had done no mind, pausing momentarily, and let loose a sigh.

"I'll return in a few minutes. If Naruto hasn't killed Sakura by now, I'll finish it up, and I'll return with Naruto to kill you all one by one. Until then, savor the last moments you have alive."

"Wait, Sasuke." Kakashi whispered. This was loud enough for Sasuke to hear, and turn to Kakashi. Kakashi stood up with his best efforts, and looked at his former student in the eyes.

"If you wanted the mutated Sharingan, then why didn't you take it when Naruto fell under your control?" Sasuke looked at Kakashi before he turned back around.

"Because the Sharingan is still a Sharingan. The Kamikage merely imprinted the DNA onto Naruto with it. Naruto needs a moment of distress for him to activate it for good."

"Killing Sakura." Kakashi concluded. Sasuke nodded.

"With her death, will mark my ascension. And the world will know the Curse of Hatred."

With that, Sasuke jumped forward, and all Kakashi could do was watch him, and look around his surroundings, the shinobi who fought Sasuke rendered unconscious. Remorse that Hinata had taken such a blow.

Sakura … please. For Konoha and the world. Get to Naruto before Sasuke does.

Author's Note:

And another chapter gets tacked on to the story board. I know I keep adding on chapters, but I can't help it. This one just kept going. I think it's fine though. Because next time, Sakura faces Naruto, even though it was supposed to happen in this chapter.

I might have went over kill with Hinata just a bit, but I don't do this out of hatred for the character. Despite what some people think.

I'll keep posting whenever I can. I think that's what it has come down to at this point. I swear it's going to be four more chapters this time …. For real. I promise. I just had to let the chapter go on.

So if you liked this chapter, great! If not, I hope to do better on the next one.

Until next time, see ya!
