Sakura put on Naruto's, Sasuke's, and now her hatai in pride.
"No matter how far apart we are we will always be team seven!" Sakura yelled into the sky.
"You know, Kagome I understand Inuyasha can be an ass," Sakura started to say.
"That's an understatement!" Kagome growled.
"But he has a good heart in there somewhere, way down there. I need you to stay here so I can protect that jewel and your life. Please Kagome let's not just walk away from our new friends!" Sakura sighed again. She had been walking with Kagome for the past 20 minutes trying to get her to stay in this time. Sakura was almost ready to rip her hair out. Kagome was almost as bad as Naruto sometime. Sakura sighed and hugged herself again. Naruto's coat seemed so big on her but she refused to change it or take it off for that matter. She smiled to herself as she rubbed her hands together.
She looked at her hands. Naruto had placed a pair of gloves in one of the pockets on the coat. They weren't just any gloves either. They were Kakashi's. The metal plate with her village's symbol etched in it. The leather was sturdy yet worn and warm. Kakashi's gloves, there was no don't about it. These gloves had seen battle and Sakura was going to see them into many more if this jewel was as powerful as it seemed.
"Sakura? Hey Sakura?" Kagome waved her hand in Sakura's face. Sakura jumped a little and laughed.
"Sorry I just was daydreaming again. Naruto left me a gift in the coat and I was just remembering the people I left behind," Sakura adjusted her hatai and sighed again.
"Sasuke comes back and I'm missing I think fate had it against Team 7," Sakura thought to herself. Kagome started talking about how much she missed her family. She said that was the real reason she wanted to leave. Sakura nodded and saw movement in the bushes. She stepped in front of Kagome and made clones to make a defensive circle around her.
"What the hell!?" a male voice called from the bushes.
"Boss told us to get the girl but never said anything about a demon!" another voice yelled.
"I don't think she's a demon. I mean if she was the girl would be dead right," a deeper voice called from the other side of the trail.
"Kuso!" Sakura cursed.
"What!" Kagome squeaked.
"We're surrounded. Let's just hope they are simple thugs," Sakura whispered to Kagome, and then smiled to herself. These men had no real power and could be taken care of fast.
"Alright boys are you going to be rude and make me wait?" Sakura and her clones smirked as the thugs walked out if the tree line.
"Sorry sweetie but we need that girl," the deeper voice belonged to a tall and fat man that wore a kimono that looked way too short for him. Sakura imagine what would happen if he were fighting and shivered at the thought of what would show.
Echoes of yeah and come on girly flowed through the group of underdressed dirty and creepy thugs.
"I don't know guys her pink hair and pretty face makes me feel bad we gotta ruff her up," a skinny guy said as he touched one of Sakura's clones.
"Yeah well whatever the hell she is, the boss wants the other one. So we get the other one," the deeper voiced man motioned for them to attack. The poor guy closest to Sakura got it the worst. She landed a punch square into his stomach, and even without her chakra filled strength she sent him flying into the guy behind him. The rest of the group stared at the tree their comrades had just gone through.
"If that ain't a demon I don't know what is?!" one of the thugs started backing away. The rest of them were too stupid to take a hint. They made a circle around the two and clones.
"The boss said that girl had a jewel worth lots of gold. We are going to get it!" all at once the group of thugs jumped. Sakura and her clones were ready for the band of idiots. Sakura used her basic taijutsu training and sent them all back. One of the thugs pulled a small bag from his jacket and threw it to the ground. The bag exploded into a strong smelling smoke. Sakura couched for a second before realizing what they had really thrown at them.
Sakura laughed, "I am no kitsune, and you are not under an illusion. Though I can't blame you for trying." Sakura lunged at the group of men before a wave of dizziness got to her. Then she smelled it.
"Kuso! Red lavender."
"I always add a little punch to my smoke bags girly," the deeper voiced man strolled forward and pushed Sakura to the ground. Behind them there was a poof as Sakura's clones dispelled.
"Let go! Sakura!" Kagome yelled as one of the men grabbed her and the other threw a now limp Sakura over his shoulder.
"You are going to be fun to play with," he laughed as he slapped Sakura's ass. Sakura was fully conscious but unable to move. She growled.
"You have no idea who you're dealing with. There is much pain in your future."
"I highly doubt that," the man laughed again and they walked through the forest to the thug's hideaway.
"I really want to know how hard it is to lose a girl with long pink hair!" Inuyasha yelled at Mizuru.
"I told you I needed sleep! It had been a week and I figured you could handle an hour of watching them!" Mizuru snarled back.
Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders not really caring one way or another. Mizuru shook his head. He knew Inuyasha wouldn't do anything he should have just stayed awake!
"Where was the last place you saw them?" Mizuru asked again and sighed at his incompetence.
"Along the rice paddies going towards the forest. I was talking to the girl when she yelled at me and ran off. She gave me so many sit commands I thought I was going to break!" Inuyasha shuddered at the thought.
"Are you serious!? You stupid mutt you do realized that the well is in that forest! Kagome could have left with the jewel!" Mizuru snarled and ran for the forest.
"Hey Sakura is with her! If anything they are probably having some creepy woman talk!" Inuyasha yelled back trying to catch up to Mizuru.
"The forest is full of bandits and demons!" the furious cat demon snarled.
"Are you serious? I just said Sakura was with her! Sakura is one tough bitch and I'm not just saying that!" Inuyasha sighed and stopped on the trail. Mizuru stopped as well. They both smelled around for a moment before looking at each other.
"That smells almost as bad as the smoke bags Sakura used!" Inuyasha covered his nose quickly as Mizuru smelled around a little more.
"It's meant for kitsune, but there is another herb in here just a hint of red lavender," Mizuru growled.
"Well how the hell do you know it's red?" Inuyasha laughed.
"Because it is hidden under the other smells. Purple lavender and red have a different smell but the red ones don't help you sleep. Red lavender causes muscle numbness. If given a big dose it could be hours before they could move again. Kuso!" Mizuru saw what looked like foot prints and drag marks and began to track the group.
"Those bastards are going to pay!" Mizuru thought to himself and stalked down their trail.
"Those idiots are going to die," Inuyasha laughed to himself as he followed Mizuru.
"Here you go boss the jewel girl," one of the slobs cackled. The man holding Sakura threw her to the ground. Being that she couldn't move a muscle landing was not fun. In fact it hurt like a bitch. Sakura heard a thud next to her when they threw Kagome down.
"Are you alright?" Sakura mumbled as best as she could.
"Yeah, I didn't breath in any of that smoke but I don't think I will be in a second!" Kagome squeaked as a towering gray beast of a man stumbled forward.
"The jewel! Give it to me!" he bellowed.
"Kagome my pouch grab the small white ball and throw it at the man!" Sakura yelled and smirked as she worked her chakra through her body dulling and eliminating the effects of the red lavender.
Kagome searched through Sakura's pouch with her hands still behind her back. The gray man swung his sword towards the girls and Kagome felt herself roll out of the way as the sword sliced a man in half.
"Hey boss! What the hell?!" the thugs started panicking as their gray skinned boss swung his sword all over.
"Kagome the pouch," Sakura yelled getting Kagome back on task. Kagome sighed a little and thanked Sakura for rolling them out of the way. She rummaged around in the pouch and slipped over a kunai. Kagome being the lucky girl she was cut the ropes when she slipped. She then turned cut Sakura's ropes and grabbed the small white ball and threw it at the gray man. It exploded into a purple smoke. Sakura smiled as she slowly got to her feet.
"Come out come out little demon!" she called through the smoke. The thugs all stared at her in horror.
"You shouldn't be standing right now! What are you!?" the thugs started running like mad men when their boss's sword went crashing down on the entrance of the hut. The ruble crushed a few of them and injured others. Kagome ran to the aid of one of the men she could get to.
"Kagome leave him and get behind me!" Sakura scolded her actions but admired the courage she had to help someone that had attacked her.
"No way! I gotta help him I can't just let him die!" Kagome instructed a few of the other thugs and they got the man out of the ruble. Sakura nodded and faced the creature in front of her.
"Alright you demon, I can smell the rot of human flesh from here. I know he is dead now get out of your nest and face me!" Sakura yelled.
The corpse of the thugs' boss fell to the ground and a crow demon hovered just above the body.
"CAW!" it screeched at Sakura. She smirked and took a stance.
"Come on you stupid bird!" she taunted it and waited for it to make the first move. What she didn't expect was the crow to charge and change directions right before hitting her. She watched as the bird dove for Kagome's chest and ripped the jewel from her neck.
"Kkkyyyaaaaa!" Kagome shrieked and covered her face the best she could. Sakura growled and lunged at the bird but it flew out a small hole in the wall.
"Kuso! Kagome stand back!" Sakura ordered and drew back her fist. She coated it in a nice thin layer of chakra and threw her fist into the wall. The wall exploded in a cloud of dust and stone. Sakura smirked, grabbed Kagome's hand and ran through the hole in the wall.
"Thanks for everything boss!" the thugs called out at Kagome.
"What?!" Kagome was startled by their comment. Sakura pulled Kagome and they went flying through the forest.
"We aren't fast enough," Sakura thought to herself. She then stopped and knelt down causing to Kagome to land on her back. Sakura scooped Kagome off her feet and took off into the trees running four times faster than before.
Kagome clung to Sakura's neck for life. Sakura kept her eyes on the sky and the crow as it swallowed the jewel and grew.
"Kuso!" Sakura stopped and set Kagome down.
"This is going to get dangerous so I need you to stay h...," Sakura paused as she felt a killing intent rushing towards them. Sakura took a stance in front of Kagome with a kunai in each hand. A black blur burst out of the bushes and almost toppled Sakura over. Sakura held her kunai at the creature's neck for a moment before sighing.
"Mizuru chill I almost killed you!" Sakura grumbled not noticing the claws that were inched away from her stomach. Inuyasha stumbled out from the bushes and sighed.
"Well what did I tell you Sakura took care of her and the jewel is safe," Inuyasha sighed and sat down.
"Kuso we don't have time for this!" Sakura jumped on Mizuru's back and pointed to the sky.
"That thing has the jewel!"
"WHAT!?" Inuyasha jumped up and started running at it. But was stopped by Sakura who threw Kagome on his back.
"Don't you dare lose her," Sakura growled and glared at Inuyasha.
"Aye!" Inuyasha saluted as he shook. Inuyasha hated it but he was scared of the things she could do to him when she was really mad.
"Good come on Mizuru we gotta stop that thing!" Sakura yelled as they took to the sky. They got right under the crow and Sakura unsealed a katana from her scroll. She stood on Mizuru's back and jabbed the katana up into the crow's stomach and ran down Mizuru's back slicing the creature open.
"CAAAW!" the crow bellowed and dove down heading straight for the village. Sakura jumped off Mizuru and landed on the crow.
"Like hell I'm going to let you hurt these people!" she screamed as she stabbed and cut the crow to pieces. Well tried anyway. Every time she would cut it the jewel gave the crow the ability to regenerate as fast as Sakura cut. Sakura wasn't prepared for the stupid bird to barrel roll and throw her off. She landed in a rice paddy and cursed as the crow continued on to the village. The crow headed straight for the weakest thing it could find.
"GET DOWN!" she screamed at the villagers. They looked at her confused and saw the demon heading straight for them. They all ran for cover but a young boy tripped and the crow grabbed him.
"Nasty crow!" a yell came from the forest as Inuyasha ran at the beast.
"Iron reaper soul stealer!" he yelled as he diced the crow into little piece. The young child fell into the river crying for help.
"Inuyasha the boy!" Kagome yelled as she ran over the bridge. Sakura had made it through the rice paddies and was next to Kagome who was ripping off her shoes and dove in after the boy. Sakura watched in amusement as the villagers stared at Kagome in awe just because she could swim. She smirked and took off running on the water following the current in search of the jewel.
"First the girl can swim! Now that girl can run on water! What a day! What girl! What a nymph!" one of the hyper villagers screeched.
Sakura laughed and saw movement down the stream. The crow fought its way out of the water and took off into the sky. Sakura took off into the forest keep an eye on the bird as it soared away from the village.
Out of the corner of her eye she caught sight of an arrow racing through the air and straight for the crow.
Sakura stopped and dropped to her knees on a branch as the arrow connected with the crow and a bright light flared in the sky. A burning pain shot through Sakura's forehead and she screamed out in pain. She threw herself to the ground and rolled in pain as Mizuru came racing to her side.
"Mistress! Mistress what happened!? Mistress! Sakura!" he urged her to answer him as beams of light shot through the air. Sakura screamed and tears fell down her eyes.
"It can't have why! AAAAAAHHHHHH!" Sakura screamed once more before stopping and panting in exhaustion.
"Sakura what happened?" Mizuru stared at her in extreme concern. Sakura took several deep breaths before answering.
"The... The ... Jewel... It has ... Shattered," Sakura panted and then passed out.
"No," Mizuru looked up at the fading lights in horror.
"What has that girl done?"
AN: DUN DUN DUN! STUPID KAGOME! Well I will explain why the jewel shattering affects Sakura in the next chapter. For those that have seen or read Fairy Tail, I couldn't help but put that random Happy moment in there. Sakura was pulling an Erza and it just fit. I laughed to myself about that one a lot more then I should have.
I just want to say for those that like Fairy Tail, I am writing a Fan Fiction for that one too! Uploading soon so keep an eye out!
I REALLY LOVE REVIEWS SO IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE THEM!
No flames though, I'm Allergic!
