Chapter 20: Brave The Wave
Ash: Ready to embark on another journey my lovely May?
May: Anytime with you Ash.
The two begin to wake up and kiss as they got ready for another journey.
Ash and Pikachu walk out the Pokemon Center, ready to challenge the Dewford Gym. He began talking about how he wants to earn his gym badge fast. May then walks out, but holding her pillow, thinking it was Ash causing her to blush.
The beautiful couple gotten to the Gym, seeing that the Gym says "brave the wave" making Ash think they are confident. Then he had thoughts of if it's a fighting gym and thought if they looked like Chuck from the Cianwood City Gym. Ash then said that it didn't matter out loud and, says he and his Pokemon can still win.
He walked up to knock on the door, when a lot of girls comes running out, knocking Ash over. A man follows them and says Ash shouldn't take a nap there. The man wondered what Ash wants and Ash says he would like a gym battle with the gym leader.
The man revealed himself as the Gym Leader and told him his name is Brawly. Ash gets mad that Brawly wouldn't battle him today, as he is going surfing. Ash wonders what Pokemon he had and his girlfriend told him to relax and they both head to the beach.
Many people were out surfing on the ocean already. Ash and May walked into the café, and find three people reciting their motto about food, creeping the two out. Meowth says the "twerps" have come and Jessie and James become excited wanting to catch Pikachu.
The beautiful couple then went back to the beach and when May says she wants to go swimming. Without taking a break, she began to take off her clothes, revealing a swimsuit underneath, then May sees Brawly, and he sends out a Makuhita and the Pokemon goes surfing with him. Ash looks up Makuhita up on his Pokedex. Ash then gets mad at the guy since he won't battle, but rather surf and says he's going to challenge him right now.
May saw this and said in her mind (That's the Ash I know and love.) Then she giggled and enjoys swimming.
Brawly and Makuhita are working on their surfing when Ash calls out to the two, wanting a battle with him; he admires his determination as Ash appears next to them, in the ocean. Brawly, Ash, and Makuhita get washed up on the shore, with Ash still begging for a battle.
Team Rocket then sent a net over Pikachu, capturing him. Pikachu attempts to shock them, but the net is electric proof. Brawly wonders who they are, and Team Rocket runs off. Brawly orders his Makuhita to help Pikachu and he runs out into the ocean hitting them and freeing Ash's Pikachu. Pikachu used Thunderbolt on them and they blast off.
Brawly finally agrees to battle Ash, much to his happiness. Ash is pumped and ready to battle, he told his girlfriend to come to the Gym with him and they then arrived at the gym. May wonders what's his strategy is. She warned Ash, but he says with his Taillow he can win against the surfer dude.
Ash sends out Taillow as his first Pokemon, and Brawly counters with his Machop. Ash tells his Taillow to use Wing Attack, hitting Machop. Ash wonders how Machop can still look so strong after being hit so many times. Ash then sees that it's absorbing the blows from the attacks, so Ash has Taillow use Quick Attack. Brawly orders a move, Cross Chop hitting Taillow square on and knocking the tiny bird out.
Ash didn't know what made the Machop strong and thought it was surfing that helped it and tried to keep his same strategy saying that it may eventually wear down his Pokemon and thought that was his best strategy to do.
Ash then sends out Treecko, he tells Treecko to use Pound continuously, and then he changes to Quick Attack when Machop gets tired, but it misses. Ash orders Pound one more time, and it hits, knocking Machop out.
Brawly says the battle is getting interesting and May thinks he is going to win, and then she thought that the only reason Machop fainted was due to it being tired from battling Taillow, and Treecko is now tired. Brawly sends out his Makuhita and Ash has Treecko use Pound over and over.
Makuhita dodged them all and Treecko gotten even more tired. Ash then has Treecko use Quick Attack and Makuhita counters with Vital Throw, slamming Treecko to the ground. He then has Makuhita use Arm Thrust and everybody thinks Treecko is done when it gets back up, barely. Ash then orders Pound again and Makuhita counters with Seismic Toss.
Treecko barely gets back up when Makuhita evolves into Hariyama. May tells Ash that he should give up and Brawly agrees, but Ash won't give up and has Treecko use Pound again, but Hairyama blocks it and use Knock Off, slamming Treecko into the wall and knocking it out. Brawly tells Ash to take Treecko to a Pokemon Center.
Nurse Joy is helping and Ash asks if it will be okay. Nurse Joy says it's physically fine, but to force a Pokemon to battle that hard she didn't like. She tells Ash it needs to rest and May agrees with her. Ash gets mad and says he was close to winning, but lost to a leader who rather be surfing then training. May tells him to calm down, he slightly calmed down and he ran out the room saying he needs a little time to think.
Ash and Pikachu are walking along the beach in the sunset. Ash says that he should of never have put such pressure on his Treecko. They see Brawly out surfing with Hariyama, helping it get used of its new evolved form. He tells Hariyama that if had battle using his head, things might have been different so they need to keep training.
Ash then walks up to Brawly and tells him that Treecko will be fine. Ash then apologizes thinking surfing was worthless. Brawly tells him that playing in nature becomes training. Ash then apologizes to his girlfriend for how he acted in front of her and he wants to stay on the island and train for his rematch.
He decided to make it up to May, by taking her to the café they went to before and saw two different people serving there than last time. He treated her to something to drink and something to eat. Afterward they spent the rest of the night in a lodge close to the beach and they enjoyed the night together in the lodge and went to bed.
Ash: Been a while since he updated the story, the reason why is cause he didn't have no way to type it, but he used his family's computer to type the story for you.
May: He didn't forget about you and he glad he updated this story for you, he will see you next time.
