Jerome's POV
"Hey guys!" Poppy said as she walked into the dining room. She's gonna leave tomorrow for her honeymoon.
"I can't believe my baby sister is all grown up!" I said as I hugged her. She rolled her eyes and groaned.
"Gerbil, don't worry. I'll come visit you after the honeymoon" she said. Ugh! I still can't imagine the idea of Poppy having...! Ugh! I can't even say the two words in the same sentence.
"Hey! When was the last time we actually went out on a date?" Mara asked me. I thought about it.
"Last date I remember is before we got married" I said.
"Before you got married?!" Poppy exclaimed. I nodded. She shook her head.
"You guys need to go out. Don't worry, I'll take care of Rider. Just go out. Anywhere" she said. We laughed.
"Where do you wanna go?" she asked as soon as we were outside the building.
"Let's go tot that arcade that just opened" I suggested. We walked to it. We spent most of our time playing games. What else would you do at a an arcade? I saw Mara playing one of those basketball games and smirked. I came up from behind her and held her hands. I helped her make a shot.
"See, it's not so hard" I told her. She giggled. Her laugh is music to my ears.
"Do you know how beautiful you are?" I asked her. She blushed.
"Wow, I can't believe I can still make you blush" I told her and she giggled again.
"Jerome, I love you and I always will" she told me, looking into my eyes. I grinned and wrapped my hands round her waist as she did the same to my neck. I leaned down and kissed her.
"Let's go" she said as she took my hand. As we were walking out, I caught a glimpse of pink fur. I told her to wait outside for me. Her dad bought her a blue elephant when she was eight. It was supposed to be blue and pink but her dad couldn't buy her the pink one.
"How much is that pink elephant?" I asked the cashier.
"30 pounds" he said. I smiled.
"Buying it for your lady?" he asked. I nodded. He gave me the elephant and I went outside to meet Mara.
"Didn't know you were into elephants" she joked. I chuckled.
"No, this is for you. I know how you wanted the other half so badly" I said, giving it to her. She smiled.
"Thanks, Jerome" she said. We walked back to the apartment.
"How was it?" Poppy asked as we entered. We smiled.
"Great" I said. She smiled.
"This is why you should listen to me more often" she said. We rolled our eyes as she walked to the guest room.
"I have to say, I'm glad Poppy talked us into this" I said. Mara smiled.
"Me too" she said, standing on her tip-toes to kiss me. I smiled. I have the best wife ever!
