20. Dancing

Contrary to what you could expect from a queen, Regina didn't like dancing. She still remembered too well the balls she was forced to attend at Leopold's side to appreciate now the idea that Snow White had had.

A ball to celebrate the victorious return from Neverland. But for those who are destined to live in the darkness anyway, there was little to celebrate.

"What are you doing here, all alone, love?"

She looked up just to see Hook in front of her, dressed up in his usual pirate attire. A strong contrast to the general elegance.

"What do you want, captain?" she asked in a slightly detached tone.

He simply shrugged while an indecipherable smile was forming on his face.

"Dance with me"

Regina chuckled surprised by that proposal and just shook her head in denying.

"Com' on, we are heroes too, after all"

"I don't dance"

Hook smiled even more and slowly approached her.

"Firstly you refuse to drink my rum, then you don't want to dance with me… You are quite complicated, love"

"Just because I'm not surrendering to your charm of filthy pirate?"

It was Hook's time to laugh now and, not offended at all by what was clearly an insult, he pulled out his inseparable flask of rum from his jacket and put it on the table in front of her.

"It's simple: it's either you dance with me, or you drink my rum"

Regina looked up to the sky to that silly ultimatum and then, with a sigh, stood up, letting, even if unwillingly, the man taking her hand and enclosing her back with his other arm.

"Just a dance" she warned him in a not so assuring hiss.

They were the last to reach the centre of the room… But in the end they were also the last to leave it.

I am unforgivable, I know! But I really want to finish this collection, no matter what :) Hope you are still interested!
