Its past 10pm when Takumi's cellphone rang, only to find out it was Misaki calling. A smile on his lips forming, he answered it in no time.
"Hello? Could it be that Misa-chan is missing m-"his words were cut when he heard Misaki's panic voice.
"Takumi! Please help!"
He heard rumbling sound then the other line was cut off. His mouth slightly open, his eyes growing wide, and his heart raced. For a moment he stood there frozen, gripping his phone. He took one step after another until he was running breathless towards Misaki's house. His hair was totally disheveled, his white shirt damp in sweat, he was gasping for air so badly. There were several people outside the house but he couldn't care less and it didn't stop him to barge in the Ayuzawa's home.
"Misaki!" he said in panic while running inside the hose looking for her. He was panting; he's knees giving out on him. There was no answer and to his dismay the house is empty, and there's no one around.
He never felt so scared in his entire life. He was standing at Misaki's room not knowing what to do. Her panic voice kept replaying in his mind. He absentmindedly run his fingers through his hair but stopped midway, gripping his hair tightly in prostration while muttering curses under his breath. Then suddenly as if remembering something, he started running towards the door and went outside to look for someone to ask. He saw a familiar face; an old lady from the next house, he immediately went to her way.
"Excuse me ma'am, do you happen to know where the Ayuzawa's went? He asked politely.
"You must be Takumi, Misaki's boyfriend?" The old lady spoke which rendered Takumi speechless. "Misaki and Suzuna took Minako to the hospital, base from what i heard she fainted."
Takumi took a cab and went to the hospital, although he was still worried about Minako's condition; he couldn't deny the truth that he was relieved that nothing bad happened to Misaki.
Upon entering the hospital, he wasted no time and went straight to the information desk.
"Ward 8" he kept on muttering while walking in a fast pace, his eyes busy searching for them, then finally. Minako was sleeping while Suzuna sat beside the bed with her blank face on. Tukumi patted her shoulder "how's Mom Suzuna?" She was a little startled but upon seeing Takumi she spoke nonchalantly.
"The doctor said she overworked herself again. It's fatigue…nothing so serious i guess." She said looking back at her Mom.
"I see" Takumi answered and sighed a little. "Suzuna, where's Misaki?" he proceeded.
"She went outside to buy some things needed"
"Oh,ok… i'll go look for her, ok?"
"hmmm"
Takumi went outside the hospital building and stood there for a while, deciding on which way he would start looking for Misaki. He looked around and something caught his attention; on the far end of the building is Misaki sitting on one of the hospital benches. He sighed again and walked towards her direction while shoving his hand inside his pants pocket. He was waiting for her to look at him but she didn't seem to notice. She's in her deepest thoughts that she didn't even notice Takumi sitting beside her.
"Hmmm" Takumi cleared his throat to get her attention but there's no respond. Takumi smiled warmly at her and leaned closer to her face.
"So.." he started " what may i ask is this beautiful girl doing here all alone?"
Misaki jolted in surprise, her face instantly turned into Takumi's direction with her eyes wide as saucers. She immediately blushed realizing the distance between their faces causing her to jerk back.
"W-what…are…y-you…doing…here?" she asked. Takumi frowned cutely.
"Didn't Misa-chan called me for help?" he said like a kid.
"oh,yeah" Misaki answered remembering what happened earlier.
"How long have you been there?! And can you move your face away from me!" She half yelled annoyed but Takumi didn't move an inch, instead he wrapped his arms around her and buried his face at the side of her neck. Misaki was taken aback; she can feel his warm breath tickling her neck. She blushed more at the sudden closeness. "o-oi! W-what are you doing idiot?!" she stammered while she was trying to pull away but to no avail. Instead his hold on her tightened much more.
"You scared me so much Misaki" It was almost like a whisper but enough for Misaki to hear. Her heart melted upon hearing those words, she felt his weight falling down on her. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out. "I don't know what i'll do if something bad happens to you Misa…i might die right then and there. Please don't scare me like that again " he said in a very sincere way. A tear escaped Misaki's eye, she absentmindedly wrapped her arms around him too and gripped his shirt.
"I don't know what to do anymore Takumi… It's all my fault." Her voice was full of sadness as she started sobbing which made Takumi wonder in concern. He ran his arm from her back to her hair.
"What's wrong? What happened?" He said while caressing her head, he felt her sob even more but he just kept quiet and waited for her to speak.
Moments later Misaki finally relaxed and spoke under her breath "we had a fight again" she said while letting her arm fall lazily on his side. Takumi sat straight while slowly letting her go. He wiped her tears away and nodded gently, urging her to continue. His eyes never leaving her now lifeless amber eyes.
"Earlier today, i was really happy to tell her that i already found a job, but she got mad. Telling me of how stubborn i am. I defended myself and tried my best to explain but she just doesn't want to listen. I insisted on what i believed was true. She suddenly turned silent and fell on her knees unconscious. What if something will happen to her? Because…because of me Takumi? " She said tears falling off her face again. Takumi kept silent listening to her every word until she's done talking.
"I see…" he started "don't be so hard on yourself Misaki." He tacked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Nothing's gonna happen to Mom. The doctor said it's just fatigue. After resting and eating the right food, she'll be fine, i assure you." He said patting her head. "so stop blaming yourself and worrying to much, ok?" He smiled warmly at her. Misaki heart raced once more; no words can explain how happy she is to always have Takumi by her side and how comforting his words were to her. She just nodded and smiled a little at him too.
"Although i have to admit; you really are stubborn." He said plainly which maid Misaki glare at him.
"What?!" she said annoyed! Takumi had his comic face on.
"I hate the idea of you finding a job." he said flatly. " and why didn't you tell me about it?" he almost sounded like he was whining. A vain popped out on Misaki's forehead; she smacked Takumi on his shoulder. "I just told you, didn't i?!" she countered back annoyed.
"But still…" Takumi said it like a spoiled kid not getting what he wants. Misaki glared at him while crossing her arms on her chest. "Why are you against me on finding a job too?!" Takumi pouted cutely before answering.
"Because… Misa-chan will be reducing her time for me. That's why!" he said. Misaki's annoyance is at its limit. "YOU REALLY ARE AN IDIOT YOU KNOW THAT?! Why don't you go and find your own job to take your craziness away?! She yelled at him but stopped when she saw him grinning like an idiot.
"W-what's…what's with that face?" she asked nervously. By the look on his face and the spark in his eyes Misaki could tell he have something in his mind that she will surely hate.
"ok! I've already decided! I will work wherever Misa-chan will work." He said confidently which almost made Misaki fall from her seat.
