Hello!
So, again, I've been editing past chapters, and am going to be re-posting with mistakes fixed, new bits, and other such things.
Anyway, working hard here! Longest fan-fic I've written (to date) and I'm loving it!
Enjoy my lovelies!
Oliver had never felt so helpless before. Even on the island, in the beginning did her ever feel so helpless. Felicity's scream still echoed in his ears.
He squeezed her gently, cradling her as Caitlin checked her vitals.
Felicity's soft whimper in response affected him deeply, but as much as he wanted to fight whoever would hurt her, this he couldn't fight.
"Felicity? Can you hear me?" Caitlin whispered.
Barry paced, or at least Oliver thought he was pacing. Him moving from one place to another almost instantly made Oliver's head hurt.
Roy, Dig and Cisco all sat at the worktable, watching anxiously as Felicity came back around.
"Felicity?" Oliver whispered, his throat too tight to speak any louder.
She groaned, and Oliver pressed his forehead to hers. "Felicity? Are you in pain?"
She shook her head, and the vice around his heart eased, only slightly. Her eyelids fluttered open, her sapphire blue eyes staring up at his. "I fainted again. Didn't I?"
Caitlin huffed, but smiled. "We need to find this guy if you keep up the fainting."
Fear flashed in Felicity's eyes, Oliver felt his brow furrow. "What is it?"
She clutched his shirt. "I know who it is."
"The Stalker?"
"He blew up the office."
"Felicity. Sweetheart, who?"
Oliver felt the tears drip on his shirt, the slight whimper as her hand let go of his shirt and pressed against her forehead. He cupped the back of her head.
"Jervis. Jervis Tech."
Cisco typed the name quickly into his phone, saving it before it could be forgotten. "I'll start a search on him,"
"No," Felicity tried to sit up. "I need to search for him."
"Felicity." Oliver growled, tightening his hold on her.
"No Oliver. I need to do this."
He looked at Caitlin, who shrugged. "I don't see any signs of brain damage, with the aid of a few scans I could assess her better."
"We have a scanner at the lair." Dig pointed out, getting a glare from Oliver. Caitlin nodded.
"If you can get her and me to it, I'll have one done. If nothing is wrong, I see no reason why she can't start working again."
Oliver glowered. "Oliver." He looked down at Felicity, his eyes softening.
"Please. No hospitals."
He sighed. "Okay. But no running to the lair with Barry. Your head needs to stay at it's own pace."
She smiled.
"Hey, I'm right here!" Barry yelled. Everyone chuckled, the tension slightly easing from the room. Oliver cradled Felicity as he stood up, nodding at Dig, who went to start the car.
"I can walk you know."
He shook his head. "You could have a brain injury and I'm not letting you walk until Caitlin can determine whether or not it's threatening." Oliver kissed her forehead. "Humor me."
Felicity sighed, but laid her head on his shoulder.
Cisco cuffed the case to his wrist, and moved with Roy out of the room, Caitlin followed but saw Barry blinking heavily and not moving.
"Barry? Are you alright?"
He looked up at her and nodded. "Yeah, I just am tired is all."
Caitlin nodded and walked to the doorway, and Barry started moving.
"What's that?" She pointed to his watch. He smiled down at it.
"It was my dad's. Found it the other day." he ran his fingers over the top. "My mom gave it to him."
Caitlin smiled, and rubbed his arm. "It'll all work itself out Barry. But right now, we have to settle this."
Barry nodded, and they walked out of the applied sciences division, and into an SUV to go to the penthouse. He shook his head trying to get the ringing out of his ears as the car moved.
"Felicity shows no sign of brain trauma. She's perfectly fine Oliver." Caitlin closed the scans on the screen and smiled at Felicity.
Oliver nodded. Still not entirely pleased, but Felicity had turned to her computers.
"Time to search." She said typing the name into the base and then hit enter. Every screen ran numbers, words, photos, Felicity hit the space bar a few times, moving some items to another screen where she was compiling information.
"So, what is this?" Cisco touched the Salmon Ladder's side. Roy smiled and shook his head.
"It's Oliver's." Cisco immediately backed up. Roy smiled. "Pretty much don't touch that and anything green. It's all Oliver's."
Oliver grunted as Felicity's fist shot up. "I've got him!"
Everyone turned and watched her as she sent Jervis' life across the screens.
"Jervis tech graduated from Cal Tech, with a masters in technologies, and studies done in brain waves and their functions. He worked at Goth Corp in Gotham for three years before moving to Starling suddenly." Her brow furrowed. "His father is still in Gotham, but his mother is dead. She fell down the stairs and broke her neck when he was nine." Her hands shook. "Her name was Alice."
Lyla took Felicity's hand from her seat next to her. "Go on."
"He doesn't have much else on him."
"You said he worked at Goth Corp right?" Cisco asked.
Felicity nodded.
"That's where the Alice the Hatter took was from. She worked there, an assistant in the cryogenics lab."
"Jervis works at Queen Consolidated still?" Oliver asked, his tone angered.
Felicity shook her head. "His work load took over him, and due to his lack of working his boss terminated him..." Her eyes widened as she looked up at him.
"The bomb." they both said.
"This guy is vengeful that's for sure." Dig stated, moving to his wife and daughter.
"Not to mention he has mind controlling technologies," Barry said, "That could pose a major issue."
Caitlin moved forward. "Not if we were able to break the technologies off the victims."
"We'd have to identify them first."
"Or," Felicity turned. "The tech has a signal that is sent back to the Hatter. We just have to figure out the signal, then back trace it right to him."
"That's brilliant Alice!" Barry yelled.
Everyone froze. Oliver moved in front of Felicity, who was still sitting in her chair.
"What did you say Barry?"
Everyone looked at him, Oliver moving Felicity back from Barry
Barry stilled, his eyes glazing over. He sped, shoving Oliver against the wall. Oliver's back smashing into the chair. He stilled looking down at her.
Felicity's eyes widened up at her friend, his eyes glazed over.
"Time to be with the Hatter Alice." he whispered, and a second later, Barry and Felicity were gone.
