So, as some of you know (not a lot of you), today is my 2 year Anniversary on Fanfiction! I can't believe it has been two whole years since I picked up a pen and started writing.
So, to celebrate, I am updating all of my stories today, including Xmas and A/H Drabble!
Hope everyone has a great and wonderful day today!
The air in the shuttle flew so fast around Holly and the twins, Holly knew that in just a few moments, they would be crashing.
She struggled against her bonds, grunting as she felt the skin open and blood drip from the wound for a minute. Magic flew around her wrist very faintly and slowly, and the elf knew she was extremely close to empty.
"You have to let me go!" She shouted over the sound of the boys shrieks. Even Myles was freaking out, while most of the time he was calm and collected.
The twins looked at eachother for a fraction of a second before Mules nodded. Beckett bolted forwards, quickly ripping away the ropes on her wrists as fast as he could.
Holly didn't even blink or rub her wrists as she leaped out of the seat, pulling the shuttle up and stabilizing them. "D'Arvit..." she breathed.
"What happened?" Beckett asked, walking over from the back. Myles got up off of the floor of the shuttle, brushing off his suit of every minute particle it had picked up.
"Fo-..." Holly rolled her eyes, "My friend must have ended his autopilot session on his computer." She punched a few buttons and sighed, "There. We shouldn't have any more problems with it."
A terrifying silence caught wind into the air of the shuttle. Holly turned her head around to see Myles nod towards the table in the back. Under it, by the white pedestal in the middle that kept the square table upright, was Holly's confiscated Neutrino.
The world paused before Holly leapt for the weapon the same time Myles and Beckett did. Fortunately, with her LEP training and height difference, it was easy for Holly to slide under the table and grab the Neutrino. "Don't...You….Two….Dare." She threatened, pointing it at the twins. She was fed up with their antics, and either way...She turned it to stun.
Beckett and Myles instinctively put their hands up, backing away from Holly slowly as she climbed out from under the table. "I-If you're going to shoot someone, shoot him." He nodded towards him brother.
Myles scoffed and put his hands down. "Statistically, if she were to shoot anyone, it would be you because you are very, incredibly vexatious!"
"Hey!" The blond retorted, putting his hands down as well and turning to his brother. Beckett didn't exactly know what "vexatious" meant, but coming from his brother, it probably meant stupid...Maybe. "Well, you're mean!"
Holly tilted the Neutrino to the floor and and grunted exasperatedly. She was seriously considering to shoot them for the spite of it. Have them shut up for once. Maybe then the elf could think!
Foaly's voice broke through the speaker. "Hey, Holly. So sorry for the sudden startle. Hilder came in demanding to know where you were again. I had to shut down the program, but I knew you could handle it...Holly?"
"Yeah, I'm here." She replied, and the twins had been incredibly silent since the "stranger's" voice came on the intercom. "And I think that you need to make a call to Butler and Juliet."
There was a moment of silent pause, almost as if the centaur was afraid to ask. "...Why?"
Just as he finished that, there was a blip that came from the Op Booth. Foaly grunted, as if he was thinking and trying to add up all the pieces.
"Foaly, what's going on?" Holly asked. Her eyes were trained on the boys still, goading them to try and bind her again. She would pull that trigger faster than they could say D'Arvit. Not that they knew what that meant.
There was a faint click of the intercom turning off and a silence emitting from the speakers. Myles cleared his throat, "What was that about?" He wondered.
Beckett scoffed, "And I thought you were the smart one."
Even though Myles knew Beckett had only said that to provoke him, the genius still clenched his fists. "You...Jackanapes!" He bellowed, "You just have to have the last word in everything, don't you?!"
"Only whe-"
"Stop!" Holly demanded. She added a bit of mesmer to it, and felt the rest of her magic get drained from her body. Great...She thought, then sighed and turned her attention to the two brats in front of her. "Okay, just stop. Both of you. We are almost to Fission Chips. Then dyou can fight all D'Arvitting day if you feel like it! I don't care! Just stop!"
"D'Arvitting?" Myles tilted his head to the side, obviously confused from the foreign word. Being confused was not in his nature and felt utterly strange to him.
The sudden click of the speaker turning back on caught Holly's attention away from Myles' question. But then an angry centaur just came on the intercom. "What the D'Arvitting hell are you two thinking?!"
"We are thinking that we have no clue what this 'D'Arvitting' word is!" Beckett exclaimed loudly with a shrug. Myles turned and glared at him.
"No, you dolt. He is obviously trying to ask us about sneaking onto this contraption in the first place." Myles said with a roll of his eyes.
"Foaly, what are you talking about?" Holly asked, ignoring the twins. They were getting on her last nerves, and it was taking all of her strength to not shoot them at full blast right now.
"I just got a call from Butler and Juliet. They are freaking out right now because of seeing the two troublemakers get on the shuttle." He sighed into the speaker on his end. "You have to take them back, Commander."
Holly's breath caught in her throat. She, of course, had been having the same thoughts ever since she woke up and saw Myles and Beckett with her, but now they were voiced from Foaly, and it made Holly realize that it actually the right thing to do. "Foaly…I-I cant turn back now. Fission Chips is three minutes away."
"You mean Artemis is three minutes away." Foaly corrected her with a solemn tone. "Holly, you can not put Myles and Beckett lives in jeopardy like that. You know that."
Even though Holly knew Foaly couldn't see her, she still turned her head away, hurt. "That's not-"
"True?" Foaly interrupted. He sighed, shaking his head. "Holly…"
Holly forgot about the twins and braced herself against the control panel, thinking. "It takes three hours to get from Fowl Manor to Spiro's Base." He voice was trembling, "That's six hours, Foaly. If Spiro hasn't killed Artemis or brainwashed him by now, he will by then."
There was a long pause, one that Myles and Beckett looked at each other awkwardly. Had they really caused all of this? All they wanted to do was save their brother.
"Fine." Foaly's voice was quiet, as if he wasn't sure he was saying. "Go to Fission Chips. Get Artemis. Talk with whatever the heck you want to talk to him about, Holly. But you have to get back to Haven, Holly. And soon. Before Hilder finds out what is going on."
"Of course." She quipped, standing back up straight and turning back to the twins. Her voice was broken and catching, as though she was about to start crying. But even if the elf really wanted to, the soldier in her was holding it back well enough. "I'll save Artemis and return back to Haven by nightfall."
"Good." Was all the centaur replied with before shutting off the intercom again.
Silently, Holly got back in the pilot's chair. "We're at Fission Chips." She began, tilting the controls down. Gently and gradually, the shuttle went to the ground and Holly shut the machine down, putting a shield around it. Even in a back alley, it was a safety precaution. Never could be too safe when humans were involved. Especially American humans. She strapped her Neutrino into it's holster, "Stay here." She mumbled, passing the twins.
Beckett jumped up, "Wait what?" He almost shouted.
Holly stopped and sighed, turning around. Her eyes were ablaze with a fire of determination. "You. Two. Stay. Here." She over enunciated, as though she was talking to a baby.
"No way!" Beckett argued. Myles nodded, though stood back. He sensed the danger lurking around the corner.
"Yes way. Artemis would be furious if he knew that I let his brothers go on this suicide mission! You don't know how to fight for yourselves, and that is that." Holly pointed to the table with the benches on her right. Sit down and stay here. Relax. I will have Artemis out soon."
"Cant we have one of those things to protect ourselves?" Myles spoke up, nodding to her Neutrino. "What if we were to be attacked?"
Holly scoffed, laughing at the idea like they wer telling a really good joke. "Oh, that is just rich. No." They opened their mouths to protest, but Holly raised her hand up and stopped them. She pointed at Myles first, "You are exactly like your brother. In which, I mean you can not hit the broad side of a barn. And you-" She changed her view to Beckett, "Would probably shoot anything that moves, including your brother. So no, you two are not getting one of these. Trust me. This shuttle is safer to stay in then Fowl Manor."
Myles crossed his arms defiantly. "I somehow doubt that. No one can get past Butler."
The elf cocked her head to the right, a small smirk on her face, "Said the boys who snuck away from him to get here in the first place." She shook her head, pressing a few buttons to her left. The door to the shuttle opened and Holly left, the door closing behind her.
Myles clicked his tongue. "Well, I suppose we should wait." He sat down in one of the booths on one side of the table. "Come, Beckett. We can discuss Quantum Physics. Doesn't that sound like fun?" His tone was actually filled with amusement as though it was really something he wanted to talk about.
Beckett didn't move. He didn't even acknowledge his brother as he just stared out the shuttle door Holly went out of moments before. "I'm going in." He stated.
This shocked Myles into awareness. "What?! Are you insane? I mean, I know you are insane, but still!" He got up and walked over to Beckett and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Beck, we can not follow her. You heard Holly. She will get Artemis. Our safest bet is to stay here."
"Then you can stay here. I'm going to go and get our brother." The blond strode over to the button Holly had pressed before and opened the shaft. He looked over at Myles and sighed, walking out into the sunlight of midday.
Myles was stunned and panicked. "Wh-Wa…Gah! Fine! Wait up!" He left too, making sure that he closed the shuttle behind him.
"Look." Beckett pointed over to a metal grate connected to the building closest to the shuttle. It was unscrewed and just big enough for an elf to fit through it. An elf…And a pair of 13 year old, skinny, Irish boys. "That must have been where Holly entered."
Myles nodded, still reluctant, but sneaking into the building with his brother.
