CHAPTER NINTEEN: LET'S PLAY!

Hermione's POV:

I woke up the next day with a big smile. I had a beautiful dream last night. It was about Malfoy giving me a priceless family heirloom; a necklace coated with pure gold and about a thousand years old and was once possessed by a true, pure-blooded Malfoy ancestor who left no charm to protect it.

I sat up from my bed and stretched. I glanced at the wall clock and it read: 6:30. It was still early.

I leapt out of bed and went straight to my trunk. I checked it to make sure I had everything I needed to bring back to Hogwarts. We were going back to King's Cross tomorrow morning, so I had to be ready with my pack now.

I smiled after seeing everything I needed was there. Books, quills, parchments, new potion ingredients, clothes and grooming products. Yes, I was done packing.

I picked up my towel and toothbrush and went straight to the bathroom. I took out a plastic cup and turned the faucet on. I held my toothbrush and placed enough amount of strawberry flavored toothpaste. I started brushing my teeth while listening to the water flowing off my now full cup.

I looked at the mirror and focused on my teeth. I brushed my whole mouth not leaving any single space untouched. I gargled and spit out 3 times. Then, I looked back at the mirror, smiling toothily to check on my teeth. I moved side to side for better view. Suddenly, my eyes landed on my neck.

My jaw dropped and eyes broaden to the size of a golf ball.

There on my neck, a very ancient but pretty looking necklace with 'HM' pendant was hanging beautifully.

I touched it to make sure it wasn't just my imagination. As I placed my hand on it, I expected it to vanish like a puff of smoke...but it didn't. It stayed on my neck and I was truly holding it. I could feel the metal in my skin.

That wasn't a dream?

That was...true? What happened last night was not just in my head? It actually happened?

But...it was too good to be true.

Yet, it was true. REALLY.

I smiled and caressed the pendant. It said 'HM' and according to Malfoy, it meant, 'to Hermione from Malfoy'. But, I preferred it to mean just HERMIONE MALFOY. It sounded really refreshing and convincing.

I chuckled at the thought. I went out of the bathroom and kept my toothbrush again. Just then I heard a loud pounding in my door.

"Hermione! Come down now!" Ron yelled behind my closed door.

"Yes, just a minute!" I yelled back, trying to find a brush.

"Come down when you're done, 'kay?"

"Yeah, sure." I said, finally spotting a hair brush inside my trunk. I grabbed it and started brushing my bushy hair while hearing Ron's retreating footsteps.

As soon as I looked presentable enough, I directly went out of my room and hurried downstairs where I met Ginny, Harry and Ron all bringing broomsticks.

I raised my eyebrow at them, "What's up?"

They grinned and Harry handed me another broomstick. "Here, Hermione."

I took it with confusion and narrowed my eyes a little. "What's with the broomsticks?"

"We're going to play Quidditch, Hermione!" Ginny excitedly exclaimed.

"Play Quidditch? But I don't play Quidditch." I said, slightly becoming nervous.

"Oh, it's just a fun game! Nothing serious like the real one." Ron assured me, but I was still hesitant.

"J-Just the four of us?" I asked, stuttering. I don't really like the idea of playing Quidditch with them. They were all real players unlike me. And, I was not a good flyer.

Harry shook his head. "Luna will be coming to join us."

I looked at him, deranged. They invited Luna Lovegood?

"We owled Luna yesterday saying we're inviting her to play Quidditch with us rather than do her...weird stuffs. And then she owled back saying she'll come. We're expecting her at the meeting place." Ron said.

I considered it for a moment and immediately found a flaw in the number of players.

"But if Luna will join us, we will be five. We can't be divided into two teams. We won't be equal." I said trying to get out of this scary 'fun game'.

"Don't forget Fred and George." Ginny said.

I gulped, "Then we'll be seven. Still not even." I shook my head for emphasis.

"You'll see." Harry and Ron smiled rather...evily. What were they planning to do?

I stared at them, bewildered. Then I heard a familiar voice screaming from usptairs.

"Let go of me you dunce, blockhead, imbecile, dolt and moronic twins! I said let go of MEEEE!"

My head instantly jerked up and saw the most horrible scene I had ever seen (next to Pansy's tortured body lying on the ground). My hands flew to my mouth in shock. Ginny, Harry and Ron, on the contrary, burst out laughing.

"Now, we're even." Ron said while laughing.

"Got him!" Fred yelled while holding Malfoy's two arms.

"Easy-peasy!" George shouted while stepping down the staircase walking backwards, holding Malfoy's legs.

"What on earth do you think you're doing?!" I finally exclaimed in horror.

The twins struggled very hard while holding Malfoy. George finally let go of his legs so he could stand on his feet before Fred released his arms.

Malfoy immediately backed away from Fred and George and was looking so murderous while standing at the end of the stairs with wrinkled robes and messy hair. He glared so hard at the twins who were just smirking at him with crossed arms.

Malfoy pointed a furiously shaking finger at the two. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" he yelled.

At that, all of them with the exception of me bent down laughing. Malfoy's face and ears were beet red. He was frowning as hard as he could and maybe wishing that for once, glares could kill.

"Draco, are you okay?" I asked worriedly. What the twins did was unfair. They could've pleaded him to come down with them. Why do that?!

"Okay?! Are you serious, Granger? That mental twins forced me out of bed, into the bathroom and bewitched the soap and shampoo to bathe me, and after forcing me into my robes, dragged me out of my room and carried me down like a pig ready for slaughter!" Malfoy bellowed angrily.

"If we pleaded, would you have come with us?" George asked, smirking triumphantly at finally humiliating the Slytherin in front of the Gryffindors.

"Maybe!" Malfoy replied, roaring.

"Maybe is not good enough. We had to be sure. So, we got you by force." Fred said, grinning victoriously too.

"What do you want, anyway?!" he demanded.

"We're going to play Quidditch." Harry said simply.

Malfoy's brows furrowed some more. "Play Quidditch? That's why you abused me?! Are you all losing your balls!"

"Are you playing or not?" Ron asked, looking at him evily.

Malfoy just glared at them in disbelief, so I spoke up.

"Cut this crap out." I said, glaring at them, too. I gazed at the twins and they seemed to tense a bit. "What you did to Malfoy was inconsiderate. You harrassed him when he's defenseless. Just because you are allowed to use magic, doesn't mean you can freely vex anyone!"

Fred and George looked at me guiltily and pursed their lips together. I turned to Ron and Harry. "And you two," I snapped.

They looked at me a bit scared. "You didn't do anything to stop Fred and George from doing that. Probably, you even planned this!" I accused them.

They looked down and looked as guilty as the twins. That look translated to 'yes, we planned it'. I shook my head at them. "Unbelievable." I muttered.

"Summon my broomstick and let's play." I looked at Malfoy who looked less angry now. But, he was still determined to get back from the embarrassment.

"Draco?"

He looked at me and then to Harry, Ron, Ginny and the twins who looked at him in surprise.

"I said summon my Nimbus 2001 and let's play. What are you waiting for?" He sharply ordered the twins.

Fred pointed his wand upstairs and muttered. "Accio Nimbus 2001."

Immediately, Malfoy's broom flew to Fred's hand. He handed it to Malfoy who roughly took it.

"Are you sure you want to play, Malfoy?" Ginny asked.

"Of course. But don't expect me to be gentle. I'm going to kick your brothers' and boyfriend's asses." he raised his eyes to the boys and smirked. "I won't let you get away without a satisfying vengeance from me."

The four boys looked at each other and to Malfoy, smirking too. "Boo, Slytherin." they said in unison.

Malfoy scoffed. "You'll curl back to your shells, stupid Gryffindorks."

I was looking at Malfoy and the four boys. They seemed to be so into the challenge. I groaned. I couldn't just leave Malfoy by himself.

Fine. I'd play then.

Damned the fear of heights.
