It's official, guys. I'm now older than Danny. (In the theme song, anyways.) This is kinda sad. Haha. Hopefully, he was intended to age a bit in season 3. ;D
I'm sorry that I've taken so long!
I don't own it. :P
Her previously blank red gaze sparked with life as Dora looked Danny in the eye, "Sir Phantom!"
"Why does everyone greet my brother so formally...?" Jazz muttered questioningly to Sam and Tucker.
Danny looked hesitant, "Well, I kind of need to ask you something."
Dora stepped aside and gestured for the four teens to enter the ghostly castle. They all fought the urge to sneeze as the musty air consumed them. Although the dank air was awful, the interior of the castle was beautiful. In a creepy way, of course.
Four sets of spiral stair cases were visible around the palatial room; they were all set into the wall and led to an unseen second floor. There were large glowing torches anchored to the old, moldy walls of stone. A massive iron chandelier, filled with candles, hung from the ceiling. Six ornate chairs surrounded an oak table with long, white candles placed upon it. All of the candles and fire from the torches casted a soft greenish glow to everything in the room. Overall, the place was pretty empty.
"What is this place?" Sam asked Dora with an inquisitive scan of the room.
"The secret meeting room!" Dora said excitedly. "I'm surprised that you all found the hidden door. Nobody has before..." She pondered for a second before speaking again, "Sit down! Sit down! Look, there are enough chairs for us."
They all migrated to the chairs around the table and took their spots.
"So, Dora, you seem pretty chipper." Tucker stated amiably with a smirk.
"Ever since we locked Aragon up, it's been pretty peaceful around here," she admitted as she smoothed the back of her dress before sitting down. "I would feel bad about locking my brother up, but...he's just so c-cruel a-and terrible..."
Danny put his hand up to stop her, "Don't feel bad about that, Dora. He had no respect for his people or his own sister, for crying out loud."
Sighing, Dora leaned back in her chair as she fiddled with her braid. There was a brief silence before she agreed with Danny's statement, nodding. "But," she sat back up to look him in the eye, "what did you need to ask me?"
"There's no easy way to say this, but we need your help."
"Help with what?"
Danny sighed as he absentmindedly fingered the scar under his left ear. "Vlad kidnapped everyone in town, including my parents. He rallied up a lot of ghosts to help him... We were wondering if you would help us get this under control and fix this, erm... problem." He tried to keep himself from fidgeting. What if she didn't want to help?
"Of course, Sir Phantom! You have saved the ghost zone multiple times and you helped put a stop to my brother's rule. I shall help stop this Vlad."
It took Danny a moment for this to sink in, but once it did, he was overcome with gratefulness. "Really?! Oh, Dora, you don't know how much this means to-"
Sam cut in, "So, now what? We swoop in and beat them to a pulp? That's pretty farfetched if you ask me." She crossed her arms with a frown.
"I can order my people to help." She answered smoothly. "Most of us are trained in fighting, you know. Medieval times and all."
"That's great!" Danny said ecstatically with large arm movements. With a more serious manner, he opened his mouth again, "Okay, so here's the plan..."
"And we're going to Vlad's house...why?" Tucker asked Danny nervously in the specter speeder.
Danny didn't even glance back at him as he continued to drive. "Vlad took everyone in town somewhere. This is the first place to check."
The techno-geek best friend didn't look too convinced as he slumped in his chair.
Danny looked at the map, noticing that they were getting close to Vlad's portal. They had decided to travel through the ghost zone to speed up the process of the plan. Dora and her subjects were going to investigate Amity Park to see if they spotted anything out of the norm.
"Okay, Danny. To the left." Sam informed him as she pointed to a portal.
Steering the vehicle in that direction, they flew through it; a bright green light encased them before they explded through the opposite side in Vlad's lab.
"If Vlad's here, we're toast." Jazz announced with trepidation before Danny stopped the specter speeder.
"Relax, sis." Danny flew through his seatbelt and out of the Fenton-made transportation device. "I got the thermos." For emphasis, he shook it at her from outside.
After rolling their eyes, Jazz, Sam, and Tucker all exited the human way.
Danny floated across the lab and up the stairs. Warily, he pressed a button that opened up a secret entrance that led through the fire place in the next room. "Ha! I told you guys-"
"Hey, buster!" A nasally voice sounded near him.
Danny stared blankly at the gray ghost in front of him before dragging a gloved hand down his face. "Oh, great. It's you."
Pulling out the thermos, he aimed it at Sidney Poindexter.
"Wait, wait, wait! I know that you're after Vlad!"
Danny didn't waver.
"I know that Vlad's being a bully! And I thought we were pals!"
"Pals?" He paused, "Since when are we pals?"
"That doesn't matter, Halfa. The point is that we need to stop this bully!" He began floating towards the hallway- but stopped when he saw the four teens staring at him in bewilderment. "C'mon!" Poindexter didn't wait another second before disappearing down the dark corridor.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Sam muttered.
"So, erm, where's Vlad?" Danny questioned the ghost.
"Golly gosh, just look at all this football stuff!" Poindexter's annoying voice rang out through the mansion.
"Shhh!" Jazz shushed him quickly. "What if Vlad's watching us...?"
Poindexter swiveled around to face them, "Oh, he's not! He's-"
Out of nowhere, an arrow shot out and attached itself to the ghost's shirt, pinning him to the wall.
"Don't you know when to shut up?" Skulker hovered near the doorway to the next room.
"Skulker!" Danny exclaimed -unnecessarily- in surprise as he charged up an ecto-blast.
The mechanical ghost crossed his large, metal arms. "I'm not shooting at you, am I? Calm down, whelp."
"Calm down? How am I supposed to calm down when you're always the bad guy?" Danny slung a blast and Skulker narrowly missed it.
"Watch it, ghost boy." He hissed.
The halfa floated menacingly closer, "You're telling me to 'watch it?' Are you freaking kidding me? You've always been Vlad's little assistant!" Danny got even closer, "Not to mention you want my pelt at the foot of your bed. And you just so happen to show up?!"
"Danny." He felt Sam's hand graze his arm as he floated in front of Skulker.
"Back away, Sam! I don't want you near this freak!"
"The little halfa thinks that Skulker is a freak. How ironic." A feminine voice came from the other side of the room. Spectra.
"I mean, just how many people do you know are half human, half ghost?"
Danny stayed silent. How many ghosts were even here?!
"Continues saving the town, but people still hate you. Including your parents."
"Stop." He growled, her words staring to register.
"How awful is it for your parents to love you as a human and hate you as a ghost, while everyone else hates you as a human and loves you as a ghost?" Spectra continued to feed on the misery rolling off of him.
"Stop it!"
"You're treated so awful at school and they have no idea that you're the famous Danny Phantom." She paused, "Saves everyone he sees that's in danger." Spectra was then talking to everyone in the room. She turns back to him with a mocking smile upon her black shadow of a face, "And nobody cares."
With a shout, he lunged at her, her form slipping through his grasp.
"Bertrand!" She called in a sickly sweet tone.
Danny whipped around, hair flying wildly, right before something was pressed into his side, an electric jolt shot through him. So strong that it burned his very core. His veins burned like fire and his skin stung like ice. The sensation of his muscles freezing up and his mind going numb sent his heart into overdrive. Danny didn't even know his heart still worked in ghost form, but apparently it did. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't breathe! His stomach dropped as he fell from the air and his vision faded into darkness.
Oo...I didn't know I was going to write that... Sorry that I've taken so long! I made this chapter longer!
