Disclaimer: I don't own Pucca.
Third person pov:
The day trudged slowly, all was quiet in Sooga and the hustle and bustle of the lunch rush finally slowed. "It's just so nice to have some help in the kitchen," Dada said smiling as he washed dishes. "So besides Pucca you were the only help around the restaurant?" The new hand asked. "Yes, but though my hours are long it isn't all bad. Pucca is always so nice to me and helps when she isn't waiting tables or making deliveries," Dada said finishing the last of the dishes. "A Dragon, waiting tables? Serving people?" The boy asked. "Uh… yes. Her uncles own the place as well as work it," Dada added. "I just don't get it, a Dragon… she should be the one being served. This village should feel blessed that she graces them with her presence!" He exclaimed. "Eh, well she is treated like everyone else well except for like Master Soo. But she is pretty popular. By the way I didn't catch your name," Dada said drying the wet dishes. "Oh I am Kasai," He answered. "How wonderful. As you know I'm Dada, Dada the dish washer." He said proudly. Kasai simply smiled and had taken out the just finished order for a table of three. "My lady," Kasai said setting her bowl down first and then served Ching and Abyo. He quickly retreated to the kitchen as Pucca sighed. "Are you alright Pucca?" Ching asked. "Yeah, it's just I haven't seen Garu in a while and… I…" Pucca started but Ching placed her hand on her shoulder and smiled a soft sad smile. It was as if their surroundings melted away and with a simple look and twinkle in her eyes they could both understand eachother and it wasn't before long they went to hug but Abyo patted Ching on the back a lil to hard and they were lip locked.
Both blushing and staring wide eyed at eachother Ching and Pucca were to stunned to move. Finally turning away from eachother they struggled to find their voices, and Abyo had fallen over after snapping a picture with his phone. After a while of sitting in silence and finishing their dinner Ching and Abyo thanked Pucca for dinner and took off.
Pucca's pov:
"Well… that was a different dinner," I thought as I walked through the fresh rained on forest. Looking to the full moon which was blocked out for a moment before a large serpent like figure walked towards me. "Destiny," I smiled and he hugged me. "Heyy Pucca. How ya doing girl? What I miss on my three year tour?" Destiny asked as we headed towards his old cave. "Well…" I started and poured out all the recent events. "I sure did miss a lot huh? Funny about the dragon stuff though cause we are the same color," Destiny laughed and frowned as I simply hung my head. "So when are you going to hold a recruitment tournament?" He asked lifting my chin with his claw. "What?" I asked. "You know a ninja recruitment tournament. You aren't simply going to let your ancestors legend and legacy die out are? I mean being tied directly to a Dragon is some pretty cool legend," Destiny said. "What legend?" I asked. "You don't know? Oh it was a long time ago. Way back when in the Fuedal era of Japan, there was a castle that was attacked. The only survivors were three lords and their niece the Princess, now as you can guess that though they wanted her happy duties had won favor. So they had set out to find her a suitor and even though the Princess protested she was set to marry a rich landlord. But the evening they were to meet for the first time but another attacked was waged on the castle and a huge, powerful, malevolent dragon had kidnapped the Princess…" Destiny started and I became quickly enthralled by the tale.
The Princess and the Dragon:
The Dragon flew off clutching onto the Princess tightly and the Pale full moon illuminated her petrified face. Deep in the mountains the dragon had flown into a cave and released the frightened girl, a clan of bandits smiled at her. "Well that was simpler than I thought," The leader laughed. "Eien you always come through for us. So I want you to guard her in your cave and there will be a very large pay off for you," The leader said and they forced the princess deep into the cave where they'd built a large cage and pushed her in it. The dragon laid near the cage and smoke bellowed from its nostrils. The girl held onto the bars and sobbed her loose hair falling over her shoulders and face.
Days turned into weeks and the Princess looked awful, only being fed small amounts of poorly cooked meat that is thrown on a plate into her cage. The Dragon watched as her pride never broke, she never scrambled for the food, never knocked over the water trying to drink it, she simply looked to the darkened ceiling. The silent Princess who was treated like an animal stayed vigil and strong, Eien became curious as to why this girl never pleaded or tried to bargain to be spared. Wouldn't a person go completely insane without human contact, little to no sleep, very little of poorly cooked food? Yet this girl simply sat there in her own little world, when she ate she'd get sick, she drank lil to make her small cup last, if she ever slept no one would know when. Finally Eien couldn't ignore it any longer and tried a roar to startle her yet she didn't move, then fear sunk in that may be she had passed on while he slept so he observed the motionless girl, whose hair covered her face and clothes were torn beyong repair. Finally she moved, she stood and looked at the dragon and walked to the front of her cage and stared at the stunned creature. Her face was so lifeless, skin covered in dirt and so pale she'd look like porcelain, her hair matted and tangled, she'd really thinned out since her kidnapping and yet there was no hatred or resentment in her sad eyes. After days of observing the dragon the Princess made a bold move and had extended her hand to it. Eien growled and bellowed smoke at her but with her persistence she'd lured him and placed her hand on his snout.
With this single touch remorse fell deep into the Dragon as she petted his scalely face. In this simple touch he felt her pain, and they both knew eachothers stories, and in time this Princess became his. He became more and more protective of her to the poin the broke her out of her cage, and had flown off with her. But a swift arrow broughtan end to their flight and sent them crashing into the forest. "Come they'll find us less we keep moving," Eien told her as they ran through the shrubbery. "Here we can hide here," Eien said grabbing her and taking shelter in a well hidden cave. The sound of the bandits running by filled the cave till they steadily faded away. Taking a sigh of reilef the Princess looked to her hurt companion, a few arrows stuck out of his side where his tough scales meet his under belly. The Princess quickly ran to the spring in the cave and tore some strips of her kimono and soaked them and tended to his wounds and wrapped them after removing the arrows. Leaning against him the Princess silently drifted to sleep and a small smile crept across her face. A few hours passed and the sun had set, Eien sighed as she changed his wrappings. A storm had began to brew so the princess went in search of something she and the dragon could eat and quickly returned with a small bounty of fruits. Eien had lit a small fire and watched as the princess cleaned herself and untangled her hair and was stunned to hear foot steps entering the cave. He growled and blew fire towards the two figures entering. The Princess stared at the mouth of the cave and she rested her hands on the Dragon's chest. Suddenly two men had flown in and attacked the dragon, not even noticing the girl. Eien roared and struggled to get them off breathing fire here and there and also losing his footing trying not to squish the princess. "Hiya!" One yelled and kicked Eien in the face while the other force him back causing him to fall over and his tail knocked over and pinned down the princess. Eien grew angry and roared swinging his claw and knocking the two back and stood and nudged her. Finally the boys had seen the girl and in their mind began fighting to defend her from the beast but she stood and ran between them.
"So you helped her escape a bandit clan?" One asked. "Yes, but upon making our escape… I was shot out of the sky and we took shelter here." Eien said nodding. "Man I hope this storm lets up soon," He said looking to the mouth of the cave. "Important business?" Eien asked. "Yeah. Some Princess was kidnapped and we were hired to find her," He said nonchalantly. "Then look no further," Eien said and the boy looked at him confused. "That girl over there is the Princess," Eien said pointing his claw at the now sleeping girl. "That is the Princess?" He asked in shock. "Yes, I was about to return her home when I was shot from the sky." Eien told him and informed him of how they befriended eachother. "Wow… and she doesn't talk?" The young man asked. "No, she has some sort of condition and she can not." Eien explained. "Wow. That must be hard." He said looking to the fire. "Do me a favor… when the storm lets up. Take her home, I don't know how long it'll take for my wounds to heal let alone staying hidden from that bandit clan," Eien said.
