Disclaimer: I do not own Kuroshitsuji!
But I DO own Juliet (Katheryn)!
Thanks to Shika93, Hailstom, and BloodDDB for reviewing!
BloodDDB: Speaking of a serious problem, I'm planning on that happening in this very chapter! And I guess you could say it takes place after the canon story, except Ciel isn't a you-know-what at the end. I'm currently reading the manga right now, too. I haven't gotten very far, though :/ It's good so far, though!
I'm so glad so many people like this story! That's why I keep writing. So, thanks to all of you guys/ girls that support this story!
On with the chapter!
Enjoy!
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
I felt like I was walking on air every day. Ever since Ciel told me he loved me, I couldn't stop smiling. The servants couldn't stop teasing me, either. I was sure Ciel and Sebastian could relate. It didn't matter much to me, though.
Suddenly, I heard loud voices coming from the foyer. It sounded like arguing. It was Ciel, and another voice that sounded very familiar to me, although I couldn't place whose voice it was. I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Since I was near the front door, I walked to the end of the hallway and emerged from the right side.
Standing a few feet from the door was Ciel, Sebastian, and two other people. I recognized the blonde as Alois. 'What is he doing here?' There was another man with dark hair, glasses, and gold eyes. He stood behind Alois, dressed in butler's clothing. He and Sebastian were glaring at each other.
"What the bloody hell do you want with her?" Ciel shouted at Alois. I arched an eyebrow. It almost sounded as if they were talking about me.
Just as I was turning to leave, I heard Alois shout, "Oh, look! It's Katheryn!" 'Oh, sh-' I turned back around to see everyone looking at me. "Isn't she just the most adorable thing, Claude?" Alois asked to the unknown man, whom I assumed to be Claude.
"Yes, I agree." he said, his voice smooth and deep. I gave a small and nervous smile.
"Thank you?" I said, but it sounded more like a question than an answer.
"Claude." Alois said suddenly, keeping his eyes locked on me. "I want her."
"What?!" Ciel and I shouted at once.
"What do you want with me?" I asked, a bit loudly.
"Isn't it obvious?" Alois asked, slowly walking over to me. I backed up, and I soon felt my back pressing against a wall. He was now standing right in front of me, his hands on the wall on either side of me. He leaned forward, to where our noses were nearly touching. "I want to make you my wife." he said lowly, grinning strangely. It scared me.
"Like bloody hell you will!" Ciel shouted from across the room. I could hear him stomping over to us. "Get away from her!"
"Is someone jealous?" Alois asked, turning around to face Ciel. He was taller than me, so I could only see his back.
"Yes! I am!" Ciel shouted at him. He was standing about a foot from Alois. "I want you out of my mansion, immediately! And stay away from Katheryn!"
"I'll leave, but I'm taking a certain beautiful blonde girl with me." Alois said. He suddenly turned around, grabbed my wrist, and tried to drag me off. I somehow managed to rip my wrist from his hand, and as soon as he turned around to face me, I slapped him with all of my might on his cheek.
The sound of skin-to-skin contact echoed throughout the room. The impact was so hard on him, his head turned fully to the side.
"How dare you!" I shouted at him. "I'm not just some item you can buy and drag away! Keep your filthy hands off of me!" Alois turned his head back to me, and he looked angry. He opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off by slapping him on his other cheek. Now both of his cheeks were red.
"Get the hell out of here, before I do something worse to you!" I shouted. He glared harshly at me, and I glared right back. Suddenly, he smiled as if nothing had happened.
"If that's what you want, my lady." he said arrogantly. "I'm warning you, I will be back for you." he walked towards the door, and turned back to his butler. Him and Sebastian were having a staring contest, and their eyes were blazing pink. "Come along, Claude." he said.
"Yes, your highness." Claude said, blinking. His eyes went back to gold, and he turned, breaking the icy stare between them. He turned his back to Sebastian, and opened the door for Alois.
"Goodbye, Ciel." Alois said blandly. "Goodbye, Katheryn!" he said with a smile. I glared at him, but he totally ignored it. The door shut with a soft click behind them. Even though they were gone, no one dared to move or speak.
"Persistent bastard." Ciel suddenly said, his stony glare fixed on the door they had exited out of moments ago. I smirked lightly and chuckled.
"Were you worried?" I asked, staring at the floor.
"Worried?" Ciel asked. I looked up, and he was looking at me with a bit of a confused expression.
"Were you worried that he was going to drag me away?" I clarified.
"I was a little." Ciel admitted. "But I knew if he somehow did, he wouldn't get far." he said with a small smile. I returned his smile and unknowingly reached a hand up, gently stroking the blue diamond on my necklace.
"I love you, Ciel." I said, still smiling. "No ignorant blonde boy is going to steal me away from you." Ciel's smile widened.
"I love you, too, Katheryn."
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
I was now riding in the carriage by Ciel, and we were on our way to Undertaker's. There had been another string of murders that the Queen wanted Ciel to investigate. Once again, it seemed to have nothing to do with me. I was beginning to get a bit scared; nothing had happened to me that had to do with my past for a while now. I was just waiting for them to pounce. The suspense was killing me.
When we arrived at Undertaker's, we reluctantly stepped inside the dark, depressing building. There was strange laughter, and I tried not to shudder. I had heard it several times before, and yet it still creeped me out.
"Hello, Earl." Undertaker said, emerging from a coffin leaning against the wall. "I knew you would come." he said in a creepy manner.
"What do you know about the recent killings in town?" Ciel asked, getting straight to the point.
"Hold your horses, Earl." Undertaker said, slowly walking over to us. "I must be paid generously before giving information."
Ciel sighed and said, "I know." he was probably hoping to avoid it this time by getting straight to the point. It didn't work.
"That's a beautiful necklace you have there, Miss Katheryn." Undertaker randomly said, bending down a little and studying it.
"Thank you." I said, arching an eyebrow. 'Where did that come from?'
"Who gave it to you?" he asked, standing straight again and grinning. 'Oh, dear.'
"Uh-"
"Was it perhaps a noble?"
"I-"
"An Earl, maybe?"
"Well-"
"Someone your age?"
"Um-"
"A boy with navy blue hair and an eye patch?"
"Ugh!" Ciel sighed loudly. "It was me, dammit! Now stop asking meaningless questions!" Undertaker giggled for a moment, then spoke up once again.
"I was only curious, Earl. No need to be impatient." he said, smiling widely. It was obvious that Ciel was uncomfortable. He kept shifting his weight from foot to foot, tapping his free foot rapidly on the floor. "Why did you give it to her?"
"Pardon?" Ciel asked, pausing for a moment before resuming his fidgeting. His face was pink, so light that I had to stare intensely to be able to notice it.
"Why did you give it to her?" he asked again, letting a small giggle escape his lips. "There must be a reason."
". . ."
". . ."
". . ." They were having a stare-off, even though no one could see Undertaker's eyes.
"Well?" Ciel mumbled something under his breath, and I saw a smirk cross Sebastian's face. He must have heard it.
"Speak up, please Earl. I can't hear you!" Undertaker said, leaning a bit closer.
"I said-" and he mumbled once more. Even though it was louder than before, it was still inaudible.
"Louder!"
"I said I gave it to her because I love her! Are you deaf, you old man?!" Ciel screamed at the top of his lungs, his face red. I could feel my cheeks heating up. Undertaker began laughing uncontrollably.
"I was waiting for you to tell her!" Undertaker said after he stopped laughing.
"Waiting. . .?" Ciel asked, arching an eyebrow.
"It was obvious you were in love with her." he said, grinning. "Every time you came here, I could sense the attraction coming off of you in waves. It wouldn't take superhuman senses to be able to tell." Ciel's face turned even redder, and I was sure I looked very similar.
"Was it that obvious?" Ciel asked quietly. This made Undertaker laugh loudly, and the whole building shook. Ciel sighed. 'This is going to be a long visit. . .'
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
We had just solved the case. The only thing left to do was get rid of the culprit. Ciel was carrying the gun this time, so I didn't really have anything to defend myself with. I just hoped nothing would happen that required me defending myself.
We were silently following the culprit down the dimly lit streets. He was wearing all black, and was carrying a knife in his pocket; his weapon of choice. Just as he was about to claim another victim, Sebastian jumped out of the shadows and dragged him into a dark alley, easily taking his life with hardly a sound.
"Dispose of the body, Sebastian." Ciel said. Sebastian nodded, and went to do as his Master had asked. Ciel and I stood near the entrance to the alleyway, leaning against a building near a streetlight. Silence filled the air.
"That was fairly easy." I said after a moment, adjusting my gloves on my hands.
"I wish every case was this easy." Ciel muttered, mostly to himself. A few more moments passed without the show of a demonic butler.
"Where the hell is he?" Ciel asked to no one in particular, looking up and down the dark and empty streets. I was just about to respond when I heard footsteps creeping closer. We looked to each other, and turned in the direction of the footsteps.
At first I thought it was Sebastian, but I soon realized they were coming out of the alleyway just to my right. 'Why would he be coming out of there?' I asked myself, backing up a bit when I was sure it wasn't him. Ciel grabbed my arm and pulled me beside him. I saw him reach a hand into his pocket, where his gun was located. 'Who is approaching?'
A silhouette of a person became barely visible. It sure wasn't Sebastian. It looked to be a tall and muscular man, from what I could tell. He was simply staring at us, unmoving. It was starting to scare me.
"Who are you?" Ciel asked, ending the deafening silence. No response. "Answer me!" we were answered by the man raising a gun.
"Give me the girl." a deep voice with a heavy English accent said.
"Not even in your dreams." Ciel answered, pushing me behind him and raising his own gun. "What do you want with her?" No response. "Answer my bloody questions!"
"Give me the girl." he repeated. Then, we heard the click of a bullet entering the chamber of a gun. 'Oh dear.' Ciel clicked his bullet into place as well, and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. He tried again. Still nothing.
"Of all the times!" Ciel shouted in anger, throwing the gun at the man. He easily dodged it, and began firing his own gun. Ciel whipped around and threw himself on top of me, sending both of us to the ground.
"Sebastian!" Ciel shouted at the top of his lungs. There was a light breeze, and I barely saw a man clad in black standing in front of us, blocking the bullets coming our way. Then, we heard a male's voice screaming in pain. Then, nothing. Ciel slowly lifted his head, and looked down at me.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
"I'm fine. Are you?" I asked, studying his face.
"I'm fine." he said. He stood, and held out a hand to me. I took it, and he helped me to my feet. Then, still holding my hand, he turned to Sebastian and yelled, "What took you so bloody long?" Sebastian was about to answer, when we heard someone running towards us, gasping for air.
"Sebas-chan!" a woman-like voice shouted. A person with long red hair soon emerged, hunched over and panting, a strange device in one hand. "I told you to wait for me!"
"Who said I was listening?" Sebastian answered, glaring at him. 'Oh, I remember him! Grell, right?'
"Grell?" Ciel asked, confirming my thoughts. "What are you doing here?"
"I just happened to be passing by when I ran into this handsome thing!" he said, smiling and looking at Sebastian with hearts in his eyes, making Sebastian shudder.
"Literally." Sebastian said. 'Is Grell a man or a woman? I'm so confused.'
"Oh, and you again!" he said, turning to me. "What was your name?"
"Katheryn." I answered.
"That's right." he said, tapping his chin as he stared at Sebastian, a strange grin on his face.
"Pardon me for asking, but- um- are you a man or a woman?" I asked Grell timidly. Ciel chuckled, and Sebastian smirked.
"Well," Grell started. "I'm technically a man, but I prefer to be called a woman!" he said, twirling a lock of hair around his finger. 'At least he's not offended.'
"Oh?" I asked, then I smiled at him. "I think you make a lovely woman."
"Really?" he squealed, racing up to stand in front of me.
"Of course!" I said cheerfully. "You're one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen!"
"Aren't you just so kind!" he said, fangirling. "These twojust don't understand us girls." he said, gesturing to Ciel and Sebastian, whom sighed. I giggled at him. 'He sure is funny.' "You are very beautiful, yourself!" he said cheerfully. "You should try wearing red sometime!"
"You think so?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. Grell opened his mouth to say something, but Ciel cut him off.
"I hate to interrupt, but we should get going." he said, looking at Grell with an annoyed look on his face.
"I should go, too. Will gets upset when I 'slack off'." Grell said, and he threw his arms around me. "It was nice talking to you, Katheryn! I hope we see each other again sometime!" he said, then began running off, waving at us over his shoulder. "Goodbye, Sebas-chan!" was the last thing we heard from him. Then, he was out if sight. As soon as he was gone, I giggled.
"He is very energetic." I commented as we began walking.
"He is annoying." Ciel said, scowling. I laughed.
"Don't judge him, Ciel." I said, and he looked over to me. "Everyone is different. Grell may even think you're annoying, for all we know."
"I'm not annoying." Ciel pouted, glaring at the ground. I giggled, and reached up a hand, pinching his cheek.
"But you sure are cute." I said, making him blush. "So kawaii!" I shouted, throwing my arms around him.
"Katheryn!" Ciel said in shock as he tried to push me off of him. "You're acting like Elizabeth!"
"Did it get on your nerves?" I asked as I let him go.
"A little." he said.
"Mission accomplished, then." I said. Ciel gave me a strange look, and I laughed. 'He's so fun to tease.'
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Ciel's POV
We had arrived back at the manor, and it was pitch black dark. I had willingly walked with Katheryn to her room, telling Sebastian to make sure everything was alright around the manor, in case the servants had slipped up.
Once we arrived at her door, she stopped in front of it, turning to face me. "Goodnight, Katheryn." I said with a smile. I leaned forward and kissed her soft lips tenderly.
"Goodnight, Ciel." she said, returning my smile. I stood and watched as she opened the door. She immediately froze, for an unknown reason. She tried to jump back, but I saw a hand reach out and grab her wrist, pulling her back into the room.
Panic setting in, I dashed into the room, and looked to the right. An unknown man was holding Katheryn against his chest, a cloth over her mouth and nose. Her eyes closed just as she laid eyes on me. I opened my mouth to call for Sebastian, but I felt an arm wind around my waist from behind, and a cloth press against my face.
'Alois!' was the first thing I thought. He must be behind this. Unless. . . These are the people after Katheryn!
I gasped in surprise; big mistake. The cloth was soaked with some sort of sleeping drug. It filled my lungs, and I tried to fight back. But I was already too weak. The last thing I saw was a man throwing Katheryn over his shoulder and walking to the open window.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
Dun, dun, DUN! They've been kidnapped! What's gonna happen to them? You'll find out. . . In the next chapter!
Do you think Alois is behind this, or the people after Katheryn?
Undertaker knows everything. . . Even where you live. . . Okay, that was creepy. Hahahaha!
Grell made another appearance, and so did Alois. Claude came, too. I promise there's more of them all to come.
Sorry for the wait. State testing has been keeping me busy all week, and I had no idea how to start this. . .
Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
