Chapter 20: Cold Hearted Greeting

(On Earth, Mount Paozu)

Chi-Chi was busy cooking some extravagant food for the afternoon and she wanted to take some to the hospital. Goku was complaining about eating jelly and small quantity of food which did not met his saiyan diet.

She was still mad at Goku, but the saiyan and his innocent attitude always got to her. It made her so soft looking in his huge black eyes. Here she was already warming up to him, making a huge amount of food for her oaf of a husband.

There was nothing in the world, Goku appreciated more than his wife's cooking maybe there was, but this was on top of the list somewhere. She also liked the other saiyan Radix, he seemed almost exactly like Goku, just smarter. They were the only two saiyans who was compassionate about others, unlike Raditz and Turles.

Chi-Chi also looked forward to give the new saiyan a taste of real Earth cooking. She always had that nag for cooking, and nothing filled her pride like the compliments for her delicious meals. Knowing a saiyan appetite she might wanna add a little extra portions.

It was the same day Bulma, Krillin and Raditz had left the planet on their way towards Namek. Chi Chi and Gohan was still at home, he was in his room studying all morning and refuse to leave his room. He only came out for breakfast still not speaking a word.

She knows how heart broken he must be, but she was not going to have her little boy going into the unknown galaxy. How can she protect him and know he's safe when their not even on the same planet.

She went to the back to get the laundry of the line when she noticed Gohan's room window open. Well it was warm he could use a little fresh air in that room of his. She decided not to disturb him and probably leave him to his own thoughts.

Chi-Chi finished up with the laundry and then headed towards the Wukong Hospital to give the saiyans a surprise meal which would be appreciated to the heavens.

(Out in space)

The newly upgraded Namekian ship soared past the stars leaving a yellow aura around it. Five hours of space travel and they've already left Earth's galaxy in the first couple of minutes.

Raditz was left alone by the two Earthlings, they still had that sense of fear around him. He looked intimidating and not to mention his attitude. He didn't tolerate their incessant babbling about nonsense, so the big muscled saiyan kept a clear distance from their conversations.

Raditz strode around the small compartment wondering how he was going to pass the time. Looking around the spaceship something caught his saiyan vision.

Behind a one seat he swore he could have seen a strand of black hair sticking out or was it just his lonely imagination.

"Hey, anybody there?" He silently spoke not to alert the others, which might think he was starting to go crazy.

The shy Gohan, came stepping out from behind the huge white seat.

"Whaaa? What? How did you managed to get on this ship? And your mother does she know about this boy?" Raditz was shocked and surprised as his hard voice echoed through the ship's main room.

Raditz's rough voice got the attention of the other passengers on board. They came running to the scene and was shocked to see the little saiyan boy standing there.

Gohan lowered his head, he didn't know how to explain himself, he never ran away from home before. They might take him back. He wasn't sure how to handle it, so he started fiddling with his hands at a lost for words.

"Gohan my dear, how did you get on the ship? I am figuring your mother doesn't know? Oh no, we have to inform her you know, she'll freak if she finds you missing." Bulma added quite calmly although she could feel the frustration building up inside.

"Man, Gohan you sneaked onto the ship?" Krillin added.

Chi-Chi was going to demand to bring the boy back and there wasn't time to follow the crazy woman's wishes. Bulma knew Chi-Chi and arguing about this was going to take all her strength to stay as calm as possible and not loose her temper with the black haired woman.

Gohan lifted his head to face the three pair of eyes which was starring right at him.

"Please don't! She'll make us turn the ship around"

"Don't worry little guy, I'll handle it. You can calm down we'll just have to wing it. We'll have to make her feel assured we'll keep you save."

Raditz really didn't care, he was happy the boy came with, now he had some company at least. Krillin and Bulma kept their distance from the large saiyan and he did the same, he wasn't going to soften up to them yet.

Krillin also got excited that Gohan was there, he can use a little practice and someone other to communicate than Bulma. Her conversations was mostly self-centred and Yamcha and his attitude... Blah blah blah...

Bulma contacted her dad, with the network system they incorporated into the ship, to inform Chi-Chi that Gohan sneaked onto the ship and was heading with them to Namek.

(On Earth, Capsule Corp)

Chi-Chi came speeding with her new aircraft the first instance she got knowledge of her little boy who sneaked on a spaceship that was in space right now. She almost ran a few trees and mountains flat in her haste over to Capsule Corporation.

She scrambled recklessly past the guards, and straight towards Dr. Briefs huge laboratories. She found him.

"Old man! Show me my boy right now!"

"Calm down miss"

"Don't tell me to calm down, you don't have a clue what I am about to do if I don't see my boy in the next few seconds!" A hysterical scream left Chi Chi's mouth.

Not wanting to temp the crazy lady Dr. Briefs scurried around, they head into the now larger ship of Raditz and Radix. The ship was still months away from completion, but already showed huge amount of progress.

Dr. Briefs set up the video camera connection. In a few seconds Bulma appeared on the screen.

Before they could even greet each other, Dr. Briefs was pushed aside like a empty barrel by the black haired mother.

"Where's my boy? Show me my boy!"

"Calm down Chi-Chi"

At that words, Chi-Chi knocked the screen with her fist. Her fist synchronised with every word proclaiming emphasis on her command.

"SHOW... ME... MY... GOHAN!"

Bulma brought Gohan into view. Chi-Chi's eyes soften at her little angels small stature. After a brief moment her eyes filled with a fiery rage again.

"Gohan, how dare you leave into outer space. Your just a small child, no need to throw your life away after nonsense. I didn't raise a hooligan, you know. You better turn around and come back home, RIGHT NOW!"

" ... ... "

Gohan didn't respond, he was at a lost for words.

"Chi-Chi, we can't turn back now, but don't worry we'll take good care of Gohan. His uncle Raditz is here and he will make sure nothing happens to Gohan."

Raditz just eyed the blue haired mistress, she better not put thoughts and words in his mind.

"Don't worry? Oh I won't! You'll be the one that worries if I don't have my boy on solid ground. I want my boy right here, right now. Gohan you come back home right now, do you hear me..."

Bulma sighed she knew this was going to be tough. She still watch the screen, listening to Chi-Chi's rambling. It was like arguing with "no reason" Chi-Chi was not going to take this without having her commands fulfilled.

"NO!" Gohan burst with pent-up aggression.

Bulma got knocked out of her thoughts at the sudden outburst.

Chi-Chi also got stopped in the middle of her rambling. She focused on the small saiyan after a few seconds of silence. Even Raditz raised an eyebrow after Gohan's shouting. Krillin just stood out of the way and out of the arguments, he wasn't good at stuff like this.

"Mom, I know you care for me, I also know Piccolo cares for me, if it wasn't for him, I could've been dead by now. So mom I have to be there for him so let me go please. I am sorry I sneaked away from home and for yelling at you."

"Oh Gohan, my boy... I... I... Don't want to loose you, don't you get it?"

"Mom please, I promise I'll be careful."

Chi-Chi's eyes filled with tears, her little boy was so young, but acted like a man. She couldn't deal with that. It was all Goku's fault, that's all she can think of.

Everybody was silent for a few moments. Chi-Chi only nodded her head as she sobbed.

"I love you my little darling"

"Love you too Mom" Gohan said trying on his best reassurance smile.

With that the connection was cut and Gohan got permission on the "Dragonball Outer Space Tour"

(Earth)

Ten days since the earthlings went into outer space, Turles felt he was good enough to leave this planet.

He broke out of his bandages, casts and all other medical equipment. He was not even close to 100%, but it doesn't matter he was good enough to make it to his spacepod and leave this mud ball.

He actually valued his chances to attack the remaining saiyans, but he could get hurt. He decided not to underestimate them even in their injured state.

He turned toward the saiyans before leaving.

"Kakarot, you may have saved my life, but once I am done with my goals I won't hesitate to repay my debt, by taking your life so expect to see me again."

Goku just took in the information nonchalantly. This seemed to aggravate Turles, but he didn't respond again he just turned towards the huge window in the room.

Doctors protested about his blatant disregard for his medical condition. He shrugged them out of the way and started flying to his pod's position which he hid a few miles away.

After reaching his space vessel he took of to a certain Freeza Planet.

(Freeza planet 79)

As he reach the planet within two days he headed towards the medical bay to heal in the rejuvenated tanks.

It only took him a halve an hour and he was at full health again with a boost in power as well. He had a plan to finish Vegeta, but he needed support to take the prince down.

He strode around the place, but only the normal soldiers and workers was around. He heard of Vegeta's departure to planet Namek and Freeza who also was searching for the dragonballs.

Things seemed a bit tough, but he was only there to firstly take out Vegeta, he might even take down Freeza if he felt like it. He smiled at that last little thought of his.

He searched the place until he found a specific bald headed saiyan in the bar. The saiyan was actually sulking on the counter, downing every alcohol beverage he received.

Turles approached the big saiyan.

"Well, well Mr. Head of Military, drinking your problems away?"

Nappa was surprised at first about the appearance of Turles, but as soon as the surprise arose it dissipated. He ignored Turles and went back to his drinking.

"Look Nappa, I don't know what your planning on doing, but I got a request."

Nappa still ignored the Goku look-a-like.

"I've got a plan to exact revenge on Vegeta and I was hoping you would accompany me, because to me it looks like you need some conviction my fellow saiyan."

Nappa stopped just before dunking another beverage in his mouth. After a few seconds of thinking he continued with drinking still ignoring Turles.

"Oh well I tried"

With that Turles walked away, but before he could get any further, Nappa had a question.

"You know your not strong enough, why bother going after him?"

"Nappa, Nappa, Nappa. I know, I wouldn't go into this blindly. I have a plan to reach new heights of power which will definitely throw Vegeta of his game and with your help he won't stand a chance, but since your not into it, I'll have to do it alone."

Nappa downed a last glass of alcohol and stood up to follow Turles which had no idea Nappa decided to go with his plan.

(In space just outside Namek)

Twenty-Two days have past and in a few hours, Gohan, Krillin, Raditz and Bulma will have reach their destination.

Planet Namek.

The 22 days have been a breeze, with everyone doing their own things. Bulma was mostly naked around the ship wearing nothing but bras and panties on.

Raditz was irritated with her showing off, does she really think he might be interested, he prefers black hair chicks. Though he couldn't argue, Bulma looked great and was built to the perfect sexy woman, but still he didn't felt attracted, she talks too much.

Krillin would often make remarks about the dress code of the blue haired mistress. Bulma just ignored him, if she wants to be dressed like this, it was her choice and besides it kept Raditz far away from her. Gohan was nonchalant about this, he didn't really mind.

Krillin and Gohan spent most of the time together, mentally training or just talking and making jokes about stuff on Earth. Their relationship grew rather quick, Gohan reminded him of young Goku, especially the innocent looking eyes and scruffy black hair.

Gohan would sometimes talk to his uncle Raditz. They seemed to share a special bond. Gohan reminded him of his youth days on planet Vegeta, though the situation was a bit different. He felt he could've been another person if he didn't grew up in that harsh environments.

Since Raditz didn't had any woman relations and he wasn't too much into fighting, he sort of liked the uncle feature he represent towards Gohan. Gohan also felt more at ease with the big long haired saiyan, he knows his uncle for more than a year and he actually knows more about him as his own father.

Raditz would teach Gohan fearsome techniques and looks. It was important to have a mean looking expression, showing you didn't had fear for your opponent. Raditz really wasn't the best candidate to be teaching Gohan this, though he was still a coward himself.

He felt so close to the boy, he wanted the boy to become a fearless warrior and not become too soft, because it had its disadvantages in this cruel galaxy. Raditz would sometimes asked about Goku, but Gohan didn't had too much information about his father.

Raditz and Krillin started speaking with each other, because of the mutual friend they both had. Gohan.

The trio started conducted three way mental battles, which Raditz couldn't do at first. A few tips from Krillin and the saiyan acted like a pro.

With his vast knowledge of different martial arts he started tutoring the two Earthlings. Just in case they'll have to battle other worldly creatures, it might come in handy. With so much to do the 22 days had flew past them and now their at front door of Namek.

Raditz left his scouter with Radix to inform his father the instance they have trouble on Namek. He knew his father was one of the strongest in the galaxy and would certainly make a difference if trouble comes their way.

The team starred at the greenish blue planet as they started approaching it. They buckled their seatbelts, because of the ships rocky and shaky landing.

After a few minutes the ship landed on the blue planet and the saiyans and Krillin stepped out of their spaceship. Bulma protested, because she needed to make sure the planet's surface was compatible with breathing.

The team noted the strange trees and rocky plains which was covered by blue grass.

The trees looked rather strange. They had long stems with a circular branch formation and the blue leaves surrounding it. The air was fresh and the streams and rivers of planet sparkled under the bright suns.

Everything was surreal and quiet.

"No wonder Piccolo was always alone in the wastelands"

Raditz said before anyone had anything else to say. This remarked gained a laugh by everyone. Raditz didn't intended that to be funny, it was just a revelation now that he sees Piccolo's planet up close and got that silent feeling around him.

Without further a due Bulma checked the dragon radar and the other warriors also let their energy senses go.

Bulma located the 7 dragonballs on planet Namek and 4 of them was clutched together. Gohan and the others located in the same direction of the dragonballs rather high energy levels.

Raditz just shook at the information, what was the problem they were on the planet and had to get the dragonballs as soon as possible before anyone could get their hands on them.

Krillin and Gohan could feel the energy levels were kind of high, but Bulma explained about how strong Piccolo and Kami was.

"The energy levels feels really unfriendly"

They still persisted about the energy sources and from what they've heard Namekians were a fairly peaceful race.

"Come on guys don't you think they would have attacked the planet already if it would be the Freeza guy and by the looks of it the planet seems rather peaceful."

Before any actions could have been taken, a small saiyan space craft landed behind them a number of hundred kilometres away.

"I think that is Vegeta" Krillin spoke up before anyone could make conclusions.

"I think we should leave, don't you?" Krillin again made a remark before anyone could even get a chance to think.

'I should have finished him when I had the chance' he inwardly scolded.

Gohan asked if it would be wise to mask their power level and the warriors did so.

"We don't even know if it is Vegeta, everyone in Freeza's army had that space pods," Raditz concluded after contemplating the situation.

"Besides if Vegeta gets the dragonballs won't we all be doomed anyway?" Raditz asked.

"That's right, so we might as well stay" Krillin added with little enthusiasm.

Bulma went back inside the ship and contacted Master Roshi to fill him in on the situation on Nemak. Vegeta might be here and they'll need back up as soon as possible. She even proposed that she can return and go and fetch Goku and be back in two months time, but it's too long.

(Somewhere on Namek)

Vegeta came stepping out of the white round little space pod. Looking up and let the calm wind runs through his hair, his hair looking like a black flame dancing in the wind.

He puts on his scouter, presses a button on the left side and quickly hone in on the power levels located on the planet.

"Seems Freeza and his two pet dogs beats me in the chase for the dragonballs. I swear I'll somehow find away to get that dragonballs and wish for immortality and then Freeza and all his power won't stand a chance against the PRINCE of ALL SAIYANS"

(Back at the Earthlings Location)

In the meantime while the warriors wait for Bulma to finish her Radio-phone connection, another space pod similar to the first one landed almost in the same area.

"Now if the first one was Vegeta, than that certainly must be Nappa?" Krillin asked.

As soon as the question was asked, Gohan replied.

"No, the power is far more higher than Nappa's and it feels stranger, not like a saiyan's energy signal. This is bad guys we are completely out match, I guess"

Raditz and Krillin didn't responded, they only focused and a sombre feeling started surrounding the Earth fighters.

Bulma noticed the attutude of the warriors as soon as she came back.

"Guys, I've told Master Roshi about the... Wait. What's going on?"

"Another space pod followed Vegeta's space pod and he has the same power level as Vegeta." Gohan spoke since Krillin and Raditz wasn't planning on answering Bulma's question.

(Namek Village)

A green Namekian body dropped to the ground. Lifeless.

A saiyan armoured soldier carried a huge orange orb. It looked like a soccer ball which he was carrying. The soldier handed the dragon ball over to a pink white character sitting inside a hover craft.

A pink porcine huminoid was standing on the right side of the individual in the hover craft.

On his left side stood a green light skinned elegant handsome looking alien. They had a couple of accomplished smiles posted on their faces has both of them carries another three huge dragon balls.

"Dodoria keep this one under guard as well, it seems the monkey Prince is after them as well."

"How did you know Lord Freeza?" Dodoria asked bewildered at Freeza's remark.

"Come on Dodoria. Haven't you notice the space pod of Cui. If he is here, Vegeta is also on this planet." Zarbon the green skinned alien answered the question instead.

"Sir I've also picked up three smaller power levels, but they've disappeared all of a sudden, I'll send two soldiers to investigate." Zarbon continued.

"I don't care about frivolous insects Zarbon get us to the next dragon ball."

Zarbon already dispatched two soldiers to investigate the three power levels he earlier located. The two soldiers disappeared as soon as the order was given.

"Oh and Lord Freeza I think Cui can defeat Vegeta so we don't have to worry about him. The next village is right in the direction I've send the scouts. If Lord Freeza is ready, we can set of to the next Village."

"First we need to kindly kill everyone here"

Freeza instructs his minions to level the place and kill everyone of the Namekians still alive.

He only has one thought on his mind.

'Just three more'

(Back to the Earthlings)

"So guys I think the best option is to go back and fetch Goku. This wil take approximately two months." Bulma suggested.

"I don't think we have that much time, why don't we all go back and then return with Goku and Radix." Krillin countered.

"We have to make sure they don't make any wishes, so we'll have to hold them off, we can't leave," Raditz spoke up.

"So it's settle then guys, we can't afford to waste anymore time. See you and hang in there" Bulma waved goodbye and was planning to board the ship when two alien figures appeared.

Krillin inspected the two individuals, they had the same armour that the saiyans wore.

"Who are they? They have the same armour as the saiyans, are they working for Vegeta or what?"

Raditz had a scowl on his face, something wasn't right. Does this mean Freeza is on this planet. What other reason was there?

"That's the standard Freeza armour, I don't have a good feeling about this." Raditz answered Krillin's question.

The first soldier asked the other one what does the scouter say about their power levels. It returned a very low signal and they both laughed after knowing the level of their opponents.

The two scouts came around the rock and blast a huge hole in the spaceship just as Bulma was about to climb on board. Bulma shrieked and jumped away.

A huge hole in the front purple screen of the ship can be seen clearly as a small fire can also be identified.

"We are here under the orders of Freeza to eliminate everyone, now you can't escape" one of the two soldiers informed the Z group.

"What!? They shot at our ship, hey Gohan let's power up just enough to eliminate these guys." Krillin yelled in all the commotion.

Gohan nodded in agreement, but before they can even lift a finger, the two soldiers dropped down to the ground.

With incredible speed Raditz had knocked the two soldiers out cold. Gohan and Krillin lowered their power levels again to nothing, just to stay under the radar.

Bulma came screaming at them.

"What are you guys doing, if you could've knocked them out so easily, why not do it earlier before they destroyed our ship. How are we going to go back now. I am to young to die, please Lord." With her last words she broke down in tears.

The three warriors just looked at her, not knowing what to reply. Raditz was the first to react after Bulma's breakdown.

"We need to find a safe place, there might be more coming and if we stay like this out in the open, were sitting ducks waiting to be attacked."

(Namekian Village)

Zarbon looked worried and then clicked on his scouter again.

"What's the matter Zarbon?" Freeza asked after his recent behaviour.

"The scouts were taken out, by the three power levels I picked up earlier. They sky rocketed just above 1500."

"Well give me something interesting Zarbon, if they can only go to 1500 then they won't be much of a problem, now won't they?"

"Your right sir"

After the conversation the Freeza team takes off to the next Namekian village or rather more specifically to the next dragon ball.

(Back with the Earthlings)

Krillin quickly found a cave and pointed towards it. Bulma protested about living inside a cave.

"If you guys think I'll staying inside a cave, it would be the day. Do you even know what's inside? I am not going anywhere near that filthy cave."

"Come on Bulma, it won't be so bad, we need to get out of sight..." Gohan froze in the middle of his sentence.

"What? What is it you guys?" Bulma nervously asked.

The Z gang all froze as if they were put on pause. Bulma knew this was entirely serious even Gohan had a fearsome look on his face.

"Quick let's get in the cave" Raditz concurred.

There was not even time for Bulma to protest as Krillin swooped her up and darted off towards the cave.

Once inside the cave they kept quiet and their power levels as close to nothing as possible.

In just about a few seconds after the Z gang hid inside the cave, a swarm of soldiers came flying by.

The Z warriors looked terrified to say the least, so much powerful soldiers on this planet just when things couldn't get worse they sense two huge power levels close to Vegeta's.

If they weren't terrified before, they were petrified at the last power level that past them. Raditz looked like he has seen a ghost.

After a few long quiet moments after the swarm of soldiers past, the Z gang let out a breath they didn't knew they were holding.

"Who was that guy?" Gohan asked.

Krillin asked Bulma if the group of soldiers that just past them, had the dragon balls.

She checked the dragon radar and quietly nodded.

Raditz still didn't made a move, he still had a mask of fear on his face. He leaned back towards the walls of the cave just to relax a bit, his whole body was tense.

"Uncle Raditz, who was that with the huge power level?"

Raditz didn't answer.

"If those guys have the dragon balls then Vegeta would be the least of our problems. How are we going to wish the others back?" Krillin added.

"We won't!" Was the reply that came from Raditz.

He finally regained his composure a bit. He was now kneeling over, he never felt like this in a long while.

"What do you mean, uncle Raditz?"

"I mean... That was Freeza, he is going to kill us all"

With that said, a dark cloud hang over the Z gangs mission. With no hope of returning and with little combat power to defend themselves against such powerful enemies, chances of getting the dragon balls and wishing their friends back was zero.

"Freeza..."

AN: Sorry Readers for not uploading in a long time. Life was quite a ride for me the past couple of weeks, but anyway I am back hope you enjoy this new chapter.
