"Emily, how is she alive?" He couldn't believe the person that was in front of her. He couldn't believe, after all this time, Emily Bennett was alive. She was dressed in modern clothes. Her hair was down, she had skinny jeans and was wearing makeup. All the opposite of the person he had met many years before.
"How do you know each other?" For the first time, he noticed her voice tone. How human it sounded, how…. Vulnerable. Soft and rough at the same time, but warmer than before. It was exactly like it was 500 years before. It shocked him that that little detail send him nearly to his knees. It was as if Katherine was gone and Katerina had come back.
"We met a little bit before I met you" Emily answered. Elijah still remembered the time he met the witch. How calculating she was, manipulative to the core. She had been looking for Klaus, to kill him, he had guessed. She had tricked him, but Elijah discovered her plan before it was too late. No wonder she and Katherine were friends.
"Oh, guess that saves us the introductions. How about we start looking for that spell. The more time we lose, the older I am" Katherine got up, and started going through his things. That pulled him out of shock. What does she think she's doing?
"What do you think you're doing?" Katherine looked up from some book she was reading and innocently, she answered
"I'm looking for the spell that will save us all from being killed"
"Do you even know what to look for?" Katherine looked at Emily, who answered
"A locator spell, the one from Celeste spell book. I know you have it" How did she knew she had a spell book that was before her time?
"I told her" Katherine answered. How did she…? He hated that she could still tell what he was thinking.
"Why do you need the one from that spell books. I have tons of other ones that could work"
"I forgot to tell you. Emily is alive because we needed all the help we could get finding this freak. Bonnie helped me" Had she just answered a question 5 minutes after he had asked?
"Ok…. Again, why that spell book? Why not another one?" He was suspicious of Katherine. Always have, and always will. He didn't trust her. Didn't knew her ulterior motive. Katherine Pierce always had an ulterior motive.
"There is a spell in that book that can probably turn me again. It can make me a vampire, be who I was again" He heard desperation laced in that sentence. Saw her face twist into something he didn't understood.
"Emily, could you give us a moment?" Emily looked at Katherine, who nodded. Emily was out of the room in seconds.
"What's going on, Katherine? Why do you want to be a vampire so badly?" Katherine sighted. Her face changed to that one that only showed when they were alone.
"I don't want to die, Elijah. Silas already took my blood, and I'm slowly dying. My hair is changing and everything feels different. I may be human, but I feel dead. Being a vampire, it changed me. In both good and bad ways. I was a bitch, and made you suffer" she looked down to hide the tears building in her eyes, her voice braking "and I'm sorry about that, but I need this. I need to feel alive, and the only way I can do that is by being dead again. I need that spell Elijah!" Her voice was broken, hopeless. Like her heart was braking along with her body.
Elijah thought about what she said. "Silas took my blood" He had so many questions all at once. He wanted to know why Silas would take her blood, and why would she be dying. He wanted to ask so many things, but instead he said,
"If you can prove you can be the person I know you are, I will give you the spell. But if you prove me right, and all these talk is a lie, I will give you to my brother. I will not be deceived again by your manipulation" He said, giving her empty threats he hoped she would fear. He looked up and founded his answer when he saw just frightened girl, just like 17 year old Katherine would look like. It broke his heart.
"Ok" responded a small voice.
"Let's look for that spell" He stood up, and went to his room, where he knew Celeste's spell book was. He grabbed it and murmured a small apology to her memory and gave it to Emily, who was sitting down at the table, talking to Katherine. He held out the book.
"Perfect" was all she said.
