The Life and Times of Kurt Hummel
Season 3, Episode 20: TO DANCE AGAIN
20/22- Kurt and Rachel help Santana rediscover her passion for dance while Kurt's interview for Vogue finally arrives. Meanwhile, Blaine, Sam and the other seniors make their plans for graduation.
The Seniors had to think about graduation more than ever. It was only a few weeks away and while Blaine had auditioned for NYADA the week before, he was uncertain whether or not he would get in. Sam decided against college and hoped to pursue a career in male modelling, even considering going with Blaine to New York and hope things go well. Artie, meanwhile, had gotten into a film school in California and Tina had been accepted into Brown University. Things were looking set for them all to leave McKinley and start the rest of their lives, yet Blaine remained nervous about what a future in New York would bring him.
-THE LIFE AND TIMES OF KURT HUMMEL-
"I'm gonna go ALL LIMA HEIGHTS if you don't get your hand off of me RIGHT NOW!" Rachel and Kurt heard a familiar voice shout as they walked down a NYADA corridor.
"Wasn't that-?" Kurt asked.
"-I think so." Rachel replied. Worried, they both rain in the classroom the voice came from and saw Santana holding a chair in the direction of another male student.
"I am not gonna give you my number, Mr my-cologne-smells-of-garbage, and besides, I don't think you have the parts I'm interested in." Santana snapped at the boy, who abruptly backed off. She noticed Kurt and Rachel staring at her.
"Hey, ladies." Santana said.
"What are you doing here?" Kurt asked.
"I'm...uh, well...I wanna sign up for some afterhours dance classes." Santana admitted.
"You what?" Rachel asked.
"I've...I've always loved dance, okay? I used to do ballet when I was little and the more I see all these people dancing in the streets...well, it's just got me thinking. Plus, my Abuela loved watching me dance before she disowned me." Santana explained.
"Well, that is...unexpected. But I heard the classes are great, so I say go for it!" Kurt said.
"I agree, and then we can all be NYADA buddies!" Rachel said.
"NEVER call us that again." Santana said and then clicked her fingers. Music started playing as many male dancers started dancing together.
"I might as well get in some practice while I'm here. Look out NYADA, there's a storm coming." Santana said as she joined in the dance and started to sing.
"Dance, yes

The song ended and Kurt and Rachel applauded as Santana smiled.
"Wow, that was great! I never expected you to be so dedicated to a career path." Rachel admitted.
"I may be badass on my own, but I still need a purpose." Santana said.
"So, since Tina and Artie are sorted, what are we gonna do?" Sam asked Blaine in Blaine's room. The two of them had grown even closer recently, especially after Finn passed away.
"I thought you were gonna be a male model." Blaine said as he read through some textbooks at his desk.
"I am, but I don't know if I should go to New York with you or not. It sounds awesome, plus there's this great agency there by a woman called Bichette. How cool is that name?" Sam asked.
"It'd be great to have you. I can ask the others if you could stay; I'm sure they'd all be happy to pay less rent." Blaine said.
"Awesome. So, heard from NYADA yet?" Sam said and Blaine shook his head.
"You'll get it, no worries. Speaking of worries, how are you doing...you know..."
"How is the no alcohol thing going?" Blaine asked and Sam tentatively nodded.
"Great, and thank you for your concern. I still go and see Miss Pillsbury every week but it's a lot less tense but it's still difficult. There have been bad days where I'm tempted to rip open that cabinet...I can't tell you how close I was to drinking when Finn died. But, I'll get there." Blaine said and Sam smiled.
"So, New York...is there literally, like, a massive apple there?" Sam asked. Blaine burst into a fit of laughter.
"Hummel, you look great despite that horrific rhino broach and you know that you and fashion go together like me and awesomeness. You'll be fine." Santana said as she observed Kurt's outfit as he prepared to go to his Vogue interview.
"Yeah, you're right. I can do this." Kurt said.
"So, here we are. You on the brink of getting an internship at Vogue and me on the brink of starting dance lessons at NYADA. This is success, huh?" Santana asked.
"Oh, I hope so." Kurt said.
"How about some Gaga to calm you down before you go?" Santana asked and turned on the CD player. She started to sing to the track.
"There ain't no reason you and me should be alone
Tonight, yeah, baby! (Tonight, yeah, baby!)
And I got a reason that you're who should take me home tonight (Tonight)
I need a man that thinks it's right when it's so wrong
Tonight, yeah, baby! (Tonight, yeah, baby!)
Right on the limits where we know we both belong tonight."
Kurt then sang. "It's hard to feel the rush, to brush the dangerous
I'm gonna run right to, to the edge with you
Where we can both fall far in love."
The two of them sang together."I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment of truth
Out on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge,
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you."
Santana sang again. "Another shot before we kiss the other side
Tonight, yeah, baby! (Tonight, yeah, baby!)
I'm on the edge of something final we call life tonight
(Alright! Alright!)
Put on your shades, 'cause I'll be dancing in the flames
Tonight, yeah, baby! (Tonight, yeah, baby!)
It isn't hell if everybody knows my name tonight
(Alright! Alright!)"
Kurt then sang as he finished packing up his things. "It's hard to feel the rush, to brush the dangerous
I'm gonna run right to, to the edge with you
Where we can both fall far in love."
The two sang together again.
"I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment of truth I'm on the edge with you I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment of truth
Out on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge,
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you.
I'm on the edge with you
(You, you, you...)
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge, the edge,
I'm on the edge of glory, and I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you (with you, with you, with you, with you, with you)."
As the song ended, Kurt hugged Santana and excitedly left for Vogue.
"I'm Isabelle Wright, and I LOVE YOUR BROACH. Where did you get it?" She asked as she shook Kurt's nervous hand. He immediately settled as he sat down in her office.
"I made it, actually." Kurt said with a smile.
"That's incredible, and you actually pull it off. Good start. So, you got very impressive recommendations." Isabelle said with a grin.
"Recommendations? As in, more than one?" Kurt asked.
"Oh, yeah. There was the original I got, then I got loads of emails. One from a Miss Rachel Berry showing me her prom outfit you put together for her, and I received a very formal letter from the company 'Anderson and Evans' congratulating me on my excellent choice of interns to interview." Isabelle said and Kurt smiled widely. Kurt had forgotten how much he loved his friends.
"That's great! Really, I would love to be here; it's like a dream come true just sitting here talking to you! And if you have any questions, I'm ready." Kurt said.
"I only have one." Isabelle said and leant forward.
"When can you start?"
Kurt's smile turned into a scream of delight.
The next morning, Kurt got out of bed happily and immediately called Blaine.
"Hey! I was just gonna call you! Congratulations!" Blaine said.
"Thank you! Isabelle's really nice, too. She even forgave me for my little celebration dance I did." Kurt said.
"You did a dance? You are adorable." Blaine said and Kurt smiled.
"I have my own news, actually. I got a letter this morning." Blaine added.
"Really? What is it about?"
"...I got into NYADA." Blaine said.
Kurt danced his celebration dance again, accompanied by a happy cheer.
NEXT TIME...
"I miss you, you know."
Kurt wasn't sure how the others would react.
"I will find my way..."
Blaine looked up to the sky and smiled.
