Annabeth P.O.V

I wiped the tears out of Charlie's eyes and bounced him up and down. All I wanted to do now was have someone to talk to. I couldn't talk to Hazel or Drew, they were out on a date right now. Piper was out of the question. That left me no other person to talk to, unless I wanted everyone to know about Charlie.

Wait, Sally! We always want to hang out and Danny would love playing with Charlie. Under heavy supervision of course. I hugged Charlie closer to me so I could get my phone and not put him down.

We ended up picking "The Kitty Cat Cafe", a nice place where parents could come to eat lunch while their toddlers played in the heavily padded cat-themed play structures.

When we arrived I thanked the gods that Charlie was aging fast enough and above what he should be for his age that he was about the size and had the mentality of a two year old even though he hadn't even turned one yet.

"Charlie!" Danny screamed one she saw him, which was drowned out among the other children screeching. "Can I hold him?" Danny asked, excited and looking into my eyes pleadingly.

I sighed, "go for it," and I placed him carefully in her arms once she was sitting down on the base of an enlarged cat scratcher.

"So Annabeth, want to talk about it?" Sally asked, getting into the line to order us something for lunch.

I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat, it wouldn't do me any good to keep this bottled up.

"Piper want's me to go on a vacation with her and some of our other friends at school, and leave Charlie with a sitter." I started to explain when we sat at our table, keeping charlie in the corner of my eye.

"She doesn't really get that I do want to be with Charlie, and sometimes she likes to forget him." Sally nodded along, sipping her tea. "I do want to go and be a normal college student, but I want to be the best mother for Charlie. I just don't know how to balance anything out, you are the only one who I can talk to." I sighed and Sally reached over to pat my hand.

"And I'll always be there for you Annabeth, but you know there is someone else you might be able to talk to." She raised her eyebrows at me.

"I do trust Percy, I really do, but I just- every time I even consider telling him I . . ." I took a deep breath. "I can't really get over what happened with Luke."

"And I do respect that." She nodded her head and drew her hands back so she could pick up her teacup. "But he's going to find out some way or another, whether you want him to or not. Percy is a curious boy and there is only so much I can do." She took a long sip from her tea. "And I think he would take it better coming from you than somewhere else."

Unease crept through my body. I knew I really didn't want to confront this. I also knew I was going to have to.

"I guess I'll take my chances then." Sally tried to nod solemnly with my decision, but a small smile crept onto her face. I think she was proud.

"Hey there guys." I greeted Charlie, Danny and their newfound friend. Charlie squirmed out of Danny's arms where he had been for most of Sally's and mine's chat, and ran into my arms. Well, ran isn't the exact right word, but there isn't a word yet for taking a few stumbling steps, then falling and crawling ferociously and then trying to get up again.

"Who's your new friend?" I asked Charlie, though really directing the question at Danny.

Surprisingly enough it was the little boy who answered. "My name is Caster and I'm four." He looked very proud of himself and was astoundingly cute.

"Can we keep playing?" Danny asked, obviously impatient to get back to whatever game they were playing.

"It's lunch time." I said, picking Charlie up. "Maybe you guys can play after." Danny stomped her feet and frowned at me.

"Uh, I'm leaving soon." Caster mumbled, looking down at his feet.

"Why don't we just get his number Danny? Then you guys can can have a playdate anytime." Danny still was a little peeved that they couldn't continue playing, but at least she went along.

Caster lead us to a familiar looking man. He was an older man, one that you would pin to have a child more around my age. Then it hit me, this was Dionysus, my old school counselor. Who, in some miraculous way or another, managed to keep his job for over twenty years. It astounded me that that asshole could have such a polite kid, well not so much, because his other son, Pollux, was in my grade through high school.

"Hello sir." I greeted hoping and praying that he wouldn't recognize me. No such luck for me.

"Oh if it isn't Annie bell." Dionysus looked surprised to see me, but in a taunting way that set my nerves on edge. "With her little child." He gave Charlie a look that made me want to hide him away forever and punch Dinosaurs in the face, I might just if he looked at him that way again.

"My son and his friend were playing with Caster and they got along quite well and were wondering if we could exchange contact information so they could have a playdate later on." I couldn't help cringing of the awkwardness of the situation and I just wanted to run away and hide.

"I'll give you my wife's number," he looked wary, even suspicious, "anyways," he gave me a sleazy grin, " I already have yours."

"Is your wife here? maybe I can exchange numbers with her instead."

Dionysus's wife was actually a very nice person, too nice to be with someone like him. Her and Sally clicked almost immediately, we were all having tea next week here. Without any husbands, thank god, I don't think I could have handled being around Dionysus for another minute.

Luckily, since Percy was off on vacation with everyone else I could hang out with Sally at her apartment. I got to see Paul, which was nice since I had only meet him one or two times before and he was a really nice guy. They were like the family I never had.

It was just Frank, Leo and me in the rooms that we had rented out, and I was trying to call Annabeth. The service here was terrible, I went in and out from one bar to none.

"Hey guys want to go on a walk or something? It's getting a little stuffy in here." I hoped that they would take the offer, there should be better connection outside.

"Maybe we can hit the lounge." Leo grinned. The lounge was basically a bar that didn't sell alcohol and was made up of college students. "How about it Frank?" Leo nudged him in the side. Frank hadn't really been the happiest fellow since Hazel turned him down. Maybe getting him a new crush would do him some good.

"Yeah come on Frank. It'll be fun." I really just wanted to get out of this service zone. But Frank also really needed this, so it was a win win situation.

"A retreat huh?" Alpha finished reading the report we had just gotten from our scout. "And a new girlfriend?" She mused, a smile slinking across her face from under the hood.

"Yes mam." I nodded my head, proud of what news I had brought her. "We are awaiting orders, we have two different members already on the premise. We can easily dispatch more though." I stand at attention, she hates if we are not in order.

"Is there any S-team members there?" Alpha asked, filing the report away.

"Not yet, but I can send one now and they will get there within the hour." I get my phone out and put it as a blocked number, awaiting her order.

"Yes send one S-team member and one C-team member immediately. I will send them instructions when they are on the way and under a T-member's eye."

"Ok I'm sending S4 and C8." I pull up their numbers and tell them to meet us at our hang out and then they will be gone for about two to three hours.

"No send S9, Drew knows S4 she'll know something's up." Alpha waits patiently.

"Isn't that the desired effect though, that she knows we are ruining her life still? It's not like they'll be able to catch us, she doesn't know nearly enough." I state confidently, hoping that Alpha will like my suggestion.

Alpha sighed exasperatedly. "This is why I'm Alpha and you're Beta. She could take down our whole operation with the lift of a finger. That is why we need her gone, we are not some petty little girls, this is an operation far beyond what you know. Also, you seem to be forgetting that Drew ran it before I did. Now go."

Getting away was a lot harder than I had planned. I didn't want it to get too late so I couldn't call Annabeth. But as I looked over at Frank, who was sadly stirring a little umbrella in his drink I decided to stay. He needed me more than I needed Annabeth. He needed my full attention.

"Hey Frank," I slid closer to him and wiggled my eyebrows, "Wanna Karaoke?" I looked at him with puppy dog eyes. Who could resist Karaoke anyway?

Frank smiled at me and rolled his eyes a bit. "You can't "karaoke"."

"You wanna bet?" I teased. Yes! It was working, he didn't look as sad as he did before. He snorted and rolled his head.

"That's not what I meant, but sure why not." He downed his drink and walked up with me to the DJ booth.

I still can't believe that I got a girl to talk to me. I mean like an actual conversation! We're practically best friends now.

"I get how you feel," Alice (my new friend!) nodded along to my last sentiment, " my friend Brin is so cool and pretty. Guys will date me just to talk to her, it sucks."

"Yeah it's really annoying. Percy is just the greatest guy ever. I doubt he could ever do anything wrong." I slurred, leaning my head on Alice's shoulder.

Alice laughed. "Well Brin isn't that much of a saint, she is pretty cool but she can be a bit pushy at times. Guys just like her because she's hot, but she is a great girl if you get to know her."

"Yeah, there he is now." I nod my head toward the stage where Percy and Frank are singing to part of your world. "Frank hasn't been going through the best time right now and Percy is trying his best to cheer him up."

"What about you though?" Alice asked, patting my arm gently. She reminded me of Piper when she was younger.

"Me?" I looked at her, surprised, even though I shouldn't because it's perfectly normal in a situation when you get to know someone.

"Yeah like what's your deal? Besides being overlooked and that crap." She pulled out her phone. Was she going to record this? I started blatantly at her phone until she noticed and explained. "Oh, I'm just texting Brin so she can meet you."

"That's cool." I said, trying to act nonchalant. But oh my gods! She thinks I'm cool enough to get her friend to meet me! This was like the best day ever.

Brin was really cool. She had choppy dark brown hair with a teal streak near the front. She had a total badass vibe about her and I think I'm in love. In every way. I found myself mesmerised by her every word, well until she started talking about horses. Who even knew there was that much to them, she just talked about them so animatedly that I didn't have the heart to stop her.

"Hey Leo you're pretty cool." I snapped out of my Brin-induced trance to hear that.

"What?" I stuttered, not sure if I heard that right. Stuttering isn't cool though. "Yeah, yeah I am. All the ladies love Leo."

"So do you want to go out then?" Brin slid a napkin with her number scrawled on it.

"Like a date?" I asked wide eyed. I mean just for verification, of course.

"Yes silly, I do." She laughed and I could really believe that she asked me out.

"Y-yeah! I mean-uh, totally."

Score for Leo.

Hazel P.O.V

The lounge was a pretty cool place. It was themed like we were in the clouds and was mostly filled with couples. We had just finished dinner . . . It was kind of awkward.

I'm not sure if I'm actually cut out for this dating thing. I might have Ben a bit caught up in the moment when I said that we should date. The whole dinner I just wished we were friends.

I'm still not sure why the singles didn't come. Well that's not entirely true . . . deep down I knew that it was because Frank probably didn't want to be with me.

We were all hanging on the couch now, talking about hitting the hot tubs later. Well, Drew and I were on the couch right now, sitting in awkward silence. The others had gone to check about the hot tubs.

"I'm going to head to the bathroom." I muttered, rapidly shuffling toward the restroom. I don't know how much more I can handle, I looked into the mirror. My face was scrawled with doubt and worry. I didn't want to hurt anyone, but I just don't think I'm cut out for a relationship. Well not right now, maybe when I'm twenty nine or something.

I brushed down my hair and headed back out. Joy, more awkward time with Drew. Except when I was walking back to her, Drew wasn't sitting alone. There was a guy with her. They were . . . kissing! I took out my phone, even though I knew I shouldn't, even though it was against my moral code. I pressed my thumb down and took a picture.

I didn't know anything could hurt this much. I will never love again.

Sorry for the dramatics guys. We will try to post more frequently, though it probably will be the end of next week by the earliest. We have finals. But thank you all so much for reading and have a great day!
