We had been ridden half day and were now stopping for midday meal and I sat down trying to contain my laugher. Thu I could not help a giggle.
"What is so funny?" Asked Legolas and sat down beside me.
"Aragorn," I succeeded to say. I half listen to the conversation between Éowyn and Aragorn and I did break out in laughter when I saw Éowyn's face when Aragorn said he was eighty-seven. I looked over at Legolas and he gave me a smile.
"I have not seen you laugh in a good while," he said eye sparkling.
"It feels good…" I said and looked at him.
"But something is troubling you," Legolas said and looked me in the eyes, "is it the battle ahead?"
"Aye, I do not know what it is, but… I have been having, visions. Visions of death." I said and looked away.
"Whose?"
I did not answer him, but looked up when Gimli came wobbling towards us, he had some bread and cheese in his hands.
"I have grown tired of Lambas," Gimli grumble and placed himself between me and Legolas, "want some?" When I and Legolas did not answer him, he said something in his tongue and started to eat. He looked at us and then started to talk about little of everything. I stopped listen after a little while and I lost myself in thoughts about the coming battle. Those three people it is me and Calanon, and Merilwen. But why would she backstab my brother and kill me?
"Nienna," Gimli said and poked me on the arm.
"Huh?"
"It's time to move on," he said. I nodded and rose up and walked over to my horse. My mind still somewhere else.
We had stopped for the night and sat outside my tent, looking at the stars. I had taken of the the little armor and weapons I had and enjoyed the free felling. Legolas was inside the tent, sleeping for once. I walked away a little from everyone and found a place where I could be alone. I found a rock where I could sit on, I sat down crossed legged and placed my hands on the rock's surface. I could feel the hundreds of peoples' heartbeats', I lost myself in the pulsating music it created and I feel in to a sleep like trans.
All was darkness, I felt noting, I was nothing. But then I saw a light – and I crashed through the sky. I was once again seeing a scenery from above, but it was not the battlefield. I looked at lonely woman, I could see the top of her head I could make out that her hair is black. I wonder who she could be. As if she had heard me, she looked up and I could see her face.
My eyes flung open out of pure chook. That woman was me. What does that mean?
"Nienna?" Legolas walked up and crushed down in front of me, "what's wrong?" I looked at him, Shall I tell him?
"I… nothing. Nothing is wrong I just feel asleep and got choked when something heave landed on the ground." That will have to do. I could see that he did not believe me, but he did not press me. Instead he leaned forward and gave me a kiss. I answered the kiss. I placed my arms around his neck and tangled my fingers in his hair. I started to stand up and I followed him. He placed his hands on my hips and brought me closed to him. I broke the kiss so that I could take a breath, while Legolas continued kiss me. He followed my cheek down to my throat. I gasped when I felt him suck and bite the tender skin.
"Legolas," I gasped and pressed myself closer to him. He stroked my back slowly and held me close to his body. I let out a soft moan as he continued to lick and suck on my neck. I gently dug my nails into his back, trying not to make any louder noise. I gasped soft as he pushed me against a ground and trailed kisses up to my lips again and captured them in another kiss. I kissed back and closed my eyes. I shivered and sat up again as I felt one of his hands stroking inside my cloths and stroked my belly up to the binding over my breasts and I started to blush and let out another moan. He pushed my tunic up and I sat up so that he could lift it over my head. Then he started to lose the binding, layer for layer, until my breasts where exposed. He pushed me down again. I could feel his thumbs tenderly and uncertainly stroke my nipples. I slowly moved my hands from his back to the front of his tunic. I slowly started to lose the straps, when the straps were gone I slowly pushed down the tunic from his muscular shoulders and down his back to the ground. He started kissing me again and he moved further and further down, passed my breast, down to my belly. In my haze of ecstasy something steered in the back of my mind.
"Legolas stop," I said. He had been unbuckling the belt to my britches. He stopped and looked at me. "I… we can't, not here, not now. I don't know why, but it doesn't feel right." I said in a low voice. He looked at me, eyes still burning with passion. He buckled on the belt again and picked up my binding. I sat up and was about to take it from him.
"No, please let me do it," he said ears reddening. I nodded and he sat behind me, he slowly started to wrap the binding back to place. When he was done I laid back so that my head was in his lap. He looked at me, at my glowing skin, and where the scars where, he followed some with his finger. He hadn't putted his tunic back on so I could admire his lean and strong body and the very faint glow.
We had been staying so for the rest of the night, and when dawn came we took on the rest of our clothes and got back to the camp, hand in hand. There were few people awake, and those who were looked at us as we walked over to our tent to get our weapons. Once we had our stuff, we sat by a cook fire and had some breakfast. Just talking about nothing in particular.
Some hours later we broke up the massive camp and got on the road again. I rode beside Éowyn; she was a kindhearted but sad spirit.
"Warg! We're under attack!" I heard Aragorn called out. The people of Rohan started to panic. "Get them out of here!" he called.
"All riders to the head of the column," I heard Théoden call. I started to ride towards the Wargs. I rode pasted Gimli whom tried to get up his horse. I got over to Legolas.
"Go with the other women," he said.
"What, why?" I asked upset.
"I don't want you to be here, and the women will need the protection," he said as he draw and notched an arrow.
"But…"
"Just do it!" He said firmly and loosed the arrow. I turned and saw Éowyn make for lower grounds, I followed in silent rage. When I got closer I jumped down from my horse and got closer to Éowyn.
"Stay together!" She called as she looked back at the riders. I did not; I picked up some small children and placed them onto the horseback.
As we got closer to Helms Deep, there were no incidents. As we walked down the hill I could see Helms Deep in front of us.
"At last! Helm's Deep There it is, Helm's Deep. We're safe!" Some in the crowd called out.
"We are safe, my lady. Thank you," a lady close to Éowyn said. I had given the children back to their parents and I was back on horseback. So I rode passed Éowyn and to the head of the column, with the few soldiers that had stayed. They looked at me, but I ignored them. I looked around the area. Well were we are going now is the only way in and out.
Later when I got into Helms Deep I saw so many refugees mostly women and children. I started to ride for the top, to where the riders where. I got to the gate where two guards where standing.
"Stop. You cannot enter, women are not allowed."
"Then what about…"
"Make way for the king!" I heard someone call faintly. I turned my horse around and rose back down to the gate.
When I got down I saw very few soldiers that had returned. I looked for Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn. I could find Gimli and Legolas but nor Aragorn.
"Aragorn, where is he?" I asked dismounting my horse.
"He fell," Gimli said, looking down. I too looked down, but then up again.
"No, I do not think he is. He would not just die like that," I said. But I could see that no one believed me. I turned and look at Legolas, I saw that he wanted to believe me.
"No one can survive that fall," he said and then looked away, "we have an upcoming battle, you should get ready." He walked away. I started after him, then turned to a solider holding one horse.
"Where are you taking that horse?" I asked, he looked at me a little confused.
"Ahh… the stables, in case they are needed for battle, m'lady," he said.
"Good, could you be so kind and take mine too?" I asked politely, he nodded and I gave him the rains to my horse to him. When the solider and horse where gone I started to walk back up the hill to the armory.
