Snowflake

I flew up, taking the lead. A lot of dark thoughts flitted through my mind at that moment, but my mind was too concentrated to even start to process any of these thoughts. The doorway was filled with bright light, slowly and gradually getting bigger and bigger as we gained speed.

This could be the end.

Finally blasting through the doorway, the room was rather familiar. There was a shelf to the right and a table with chains...this was where he held me!

I felt my whole body tense as the memories came flooding back, clear as ever. Heart pounding furiously, I turned to see stormy grey eyes glare into mine.

"Recognize this?"

I looked down, unable to look up to him as I clenched my fists. His back was now towards us once again and he was a clear target. Grabbing hold of his leaf shirt, I punched him straight on, ice pouring as it made contact. A sickening thud and crash was heard, followed by little ice shards flying up.

Had he fallen?

My question was answered when a dark pulse emanating from his hand pulled me towards him. Only this time, Redleaf clung on. They were evenly matched; I wasn't going anywhere. My eyes suddenly caught hold of his dark pulse. Because it was forged by magic, my own ice magic would react with it, right?

Not wanting this to slip away, I used my free hand to course ice down, spiking every part of the darkness with sharp ice. Blizzard flinched immediately, but there was fear flashing in his eyes. As he let go though, I managed to crash into Redleaf's chest, the momentum driving us both into a wall.

"Is that the best you can do?" Blizzard taunted.

At this moment, he flicked his hands once again, summoning dozens of floating black ghosts. With another flick of his hand, he vanished, sending the ghosts heading towards us.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Queen Clarion flying into one, only to pass right through. Glancing around in confusion, the ghost shot a compressed darkness ball towards her, only to have it be attacked by Queen Clarion's light magic. She nodded towards me. Getting the hint, I created multiple shards of ice, all imbued with light magic. Shooting them at the little figures, I saw Redleaf somehow managing to punch through them, knocking all of them out cold.

Where was Blizzard in this fight?

He was hiding. An powerful sign of cowardliness. I wanted to mock him, to tease him, yet, knowing he was more powerful, I was still afraid of him. Spearing a few more ghostly figures, there seemed to be a blur growing clearer at the end of the room. I wasn't the only one who noticed this.

"Keep shooting the ghosts, they weaken his power!" Redleaf yelled.

Forging bigger and sharper ice shards, I cleared a path for me to approach Blizzard, wanting his final blow to be from me. He was hurt, the gashes from the battle in the portal slowly returning onto his skin. Feeling a hand on my shoulder, I turned to see Redleaf, an understanding look in his eyes.

"Go help Queen Clarion." I whispered, his hand slowly lifting itself off my shoulder.

Turning to face Blizzard, I gasped at the sight of him, or more like, the four of him. They were gaining on me, surrounding me from every corner. They lifted their hands in sync, all of which hit me with dark magic. However, I was fast enough to send out ice in time to counter it. Unlike last time, the ice merged with the dark magic, producing a bunch of smoke in the room.

"See how our magic works so well together?"

I whipped my head around to see him advancing towards me, his guard down. I held my hands out and prepared them to strike any minute.

He wore a solemn look on his face, his body weakened from the assault.

"You only wanted to get away from me." He began. "I know how it feels to be hurt, shied away from your peers."

"What would you know? All you knew was how to hurt me!" I retorted.

"And that, was the fault I could never change. I thought I could treat you well, create something different in that other world. Start over, you know?"

I couldn't hold back anymore. Blasting him with ice I shouted, "Fault? FAULT! How in neverland could you ever make me think that I would ever like a sparrowman like you!"

He deflected everything I shot at him, wearing a pained expression on his face.

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

"What is there to understand!?"

He paused, a single tear flowing down his cheek.

"I love you!"

There is only one more part to this battle :) Reading through most of my work, I realized that the plot has a lot of twists and turns. Hehe, my bad.
