A/N: I have to inform you something that there's a slight change about Sonic and Co. respective ages. This is the current age I will use for this story

Sonic - 17

Shadow - 67 (I don't know if it's right or not since Shadow was originally made by Dr. Gerald 50 years ago)

Tails - 13 (Yes, Tails and Sonic difference for their age is actually 4 years different!)

Blaze - 16

Amy - 16

Knuckles - I still don't know about his current age, so I'll skip this one later

Cream - around 10 or 11 years old

That's all the info about their age. Now on with the story!

Previously

"Negi-san, I know you have something important to do, but I want to ask you for something." Tails approached the red-haired mage with determined face.

"Umm, yes, what is it, Tails-san?"

"I want to make pactio with you."

Present time

As the kitsune said something like that, all the girls around them were both shocked as they imagine if Tails will kiss Negi on the lips. Yue and Nodoka were both looks terrified by their imagination, "T-Tails-sensei, don't tell me that y-you…"

"NOOO! I will not and never kiss the same gender as I in my life, okay? I will never think of something gross like that!" Tails shouted at them in his dismay. "Chamo-kun, you do know another method of making pactio other than this, right? And I know that you have."

"Ahh, yes, Tails-sama, there's another method besides kissing." Chamo replied.

"Ah? So you know? Aww, I thought I have to kiss Se-chan if I want to make pactio with her…" Konoka pouted, making everyone sweet-dropped by her reaction.

"Okay, Chamo-kun. Tell me what it is."

"Right. It's a blood-pact method. Basically, Tails-sama and aniki will have to put some of your blood to the circle I made, and then the contract will successfully appear." The ermine explained the situation.

"Okay then," Tails grabbed some of the sharp leaf nearby from one of the tree. "Chamo, make the circle. I want to make pactio with Negi-san."

"Aye sir!" The ermine then grab his chalk and draw a circle around Negi and Tails as they prepared to began make a pactio.

"T-Tails-san, you sure you want to do this?" The red-haired mage asked.

"Of course, Negi-san. I'm willing to do this if it's the sake of my friends. Sonic and Shadow will probably do the same if they were here." The kitsune stated. Then he cut his finger using the sharp leaf and a drip of blood appeared. Negi was also do the same as the kitsune does. Both figured drop their respective blood and the contract successfully made as the card appeared.

"Well, Tails-kun, can you show me the pactio you just made? I'm pretty curious here." Konoka asked in her curious.

"Wait a second; I want to examine my card, ok?" The kitsune look down on his card and examined one by another. The card had Tails wearing black robes with a long staff in his both hand that looks like a golden one. There's also a normal magic circle behind him on his card. The kitsune let out his smile as he was about to summon his pactio, "Let's see what you got. Adeat!" as he did that the light appeared and Tails equipped himself with black robes and the sword around his waist. The girls stared at him and look amazed by the looks of the kitsune at the moment. Tails draw his sword from his waist and tested the sword. He once learns how to use the sword from Sonic so he doesn't had problem wielding it. As he swing the sword carefully since he doesn't want to hurt his friends around him, he decided that he prefer one-handed.

"Tails-sensei, is that your pactio?" Nodoka asked amazed.

"Well, not quite Nodoka-san. It doesn't look the same as the card does. Maybe I should try this method." Tails concentrated his energy and golden aura appeared surrounding him. The kitsune lifted up his sword in front of his chest and began to chant something. "Show the Way, Kimuryuu!" As he did so, the sword suddenly turned itself to long golden staff, the same as the picture shows in his card. He hold his new weapon and try to adjust it. It seems that he doesn't have the problem as he used to learn how to wield some weapon from his training.

"W-wow…" Was all the girls could say after they saw Tails's displayed of his pactio. The kitsune had enough although he hasn't tried some of it as he muttered something, "Abeat!" Then he returned to normal state with the card in his hands. "Thanks for the pactio, Negi-san. It will help me throughout your quest as well."

"A-ah, your welcome, Tails-san." Negi replied while blushed.

"Hey, guys, what did I miss?" yelled a familiar voice. Everyone turned around to see Sonic and his friends walked down towards them. "Sorry for the long waiting. Did I make you guys bored?"

"No, Sonic-kun. It was fun exploring things around this island. Thank you so much for the trip here!" Konoka hugged the blue hedgehog tightly, save for Amy who feel jealous about her action.

"U-umm, Konoka-chan, c-could you restrain yourself? I feel embarrassed about this…" Sonic muttered as the others watching them.

"Oh, sorry, Sonic-kun." Konoka let go of him while giggled.

"Oh yes, where's Asuna-san? I haven't seen her around here." Blaze asked the groups.

"Asuna-san is tired, so she decided to take a rest in Knuckles-san's hut." Setsuna replied.

"Well, I think we should go back home, it's already night here and I'm beginning to feel sleepy," Sonic let out his yawn as he still haven't completely healed yet after the blast he got. Everyone was confused and looked up the sky and sure it is. The sky was already pitch black and few stars appeared on it.

"Wow, I didn't realize that it was already night, Sonic." Negi said in surprise.

"Well, what can I say? Time works different in your world, Negi." Sonic replied. The gang decided to go back where they lived, with Amy and Cream decided to stay in Blaze's place, Knuckles to stay in Angel Island since this is his home, and the rest went on to Sonic's apartment, but of course the blue hedgehog had to waked up Asuna first, but much of his dismay when he tried to wake her up, only get bumped out the way by her mighty kick, 'Sheesh, doesn't she got problem in her sleep?'

The next early morning, at Sonic's apartment.

In one of the two bedroom that Sonic's apartment offered, Negi was sleeping soundly in the same room with Sonic, Tails, and Shadow. Negi kept on mumbling Asuna's name in his sleep, causing the blue hedgehog to had one eyes open a bit. 'Oh Negi, I hope you get well with Asuna-chan.'

Then a knock was heard in the room. Negi opened one of his eyes and stood up a bit to see who was at the door since it was partially open. There was a figure at the door and upon closer inspection, it was Asuna. "Eh? Asuna-san?" Negi said quietly as not to wake Sonic and Co. up.

"Come here," Asuna said as she used her index to motion Negi to come closer. Negi got up from bed and walked to the door, trying not to make any noise. Unfortunately, Sonic had already wakened up and decided to follow their trail as he was curious about Asuna calling Negi at this early.

Once outside the room, Negi scratched his eyes. "Um, un, Asuna-san…" But before he could say anything else, Asuna handed Negi a bag that contain his swim-trunks. Negi looked at Asuna questionably, curious as to why she had brought swimming trunks. And for that matter, why was she dressed in one as well?

Asuna then grabbed Negi's hand and tug along the corridors of the Sonic's apartment building. Meanwhile, Sonic had gotten out of his bed slowly as he didn't want to wake up the others and decided to follow them, curious as to why Asuna would bring Negi out early in the morning. Sonic smiled. Maybe Asuna and Negi will be able to make up. To make sure that he didn't get noticed by them, he used his hiding skill to make himself invisible. "There. That should do the trick." And the blue hedgehog followed their lead.

Negi and Asuna continued to walk through the hallways until they reached to swimming pool on the top of the apartment. Negi stared in awe. "Oh, wow-w-w…I never noticed that they had swimming pool!" The pool was bigger than that of the girl's dormitories. He wondered on how he could not have seen this. Asuna probably found it when they weren't talking and while he was trying to apologize to her. Suddenly, Negi felt a tug on his hand and then was thrown into the water.

Negi quickly got out of the water, splashing all around. "BLAH? Asuna-san, wha-what are you…?"

But before he could say anything, he heard Asuna laugh very hard in front of him. "HAHAHA! You should see look on your face!" Negi was confused. What did Asuna find so amusing and what was the point of all this. He definitely got his answer when Asuna jumped up and went straight down with a kick, catching Negi by surprise.

After a few minutes of splashing around, Asuna still kept on laughing while Negi tried to recollect himself. "You could've warned me, you know!" Sonic, who was looking from a corner, couldn't help but smile. As he know that the orange-haired girl were already on good term to Negi "Why is it now that you…?"

"Because," interrupted Asuna, "I just thought, here we are in Mobius world as Tails speak of, and we still haven't had any fun, so…" She then turned her head at Negi, which made him flinch. She started to walk over towards him. Negi covered himself, thinking that she was going to hit him. But instead, she hugged him.

"Asuna-san?" said a surprised Negi and he wasn't the only one. Sonic for a second there thought that Asuna was going to hit Negi as well, but instead she didn't. However, he couldn't help but smile, knowing what Asuna was trying to do.

"Sorry."

"Eh?"

"Sorry about the cold shoulder treatment," said Asuna as she kept hugging him. "I apologize…I'm sorry."

"Asuna-san..." Negi said. "What I said about not being a part – that's not what I meant to say. I'm sorry!"

"It's okay," Asuna responded. "Really, besides…it's just I worry sometimes. I'm not sure when it started, or how but I worry that you'll get hurt or worse, that you'll get killed. You and Sonic tend to overdo it sometimes you know? It goes double for Sonic as well."

"Asuna-san/-chan," muttered both Sonic and Negi at the same time but at different places.

"And even if I do tell you or Sonic to stop, you'll keep looking right – for your father? I'm sure that Sonic and his friends are helping as well. But…let me help, let me protect you, and let me…be your partner in all the ways that count okay, Negi?"

"Asuna-san…" Negi said in trailed. Sonic decided it was enough for him as the blue hedgehog went back to his room and deactivated his skill, walked along the hallway He couldn't help but smile, seeing the kindness of Asuna towards Negi. "Looks like things are going to be interesting." He chuckled himself.

As Sonic went back to his room, they noticed that Shadow and Tails were already woken up and get out of their bed. The blue hedgehog decided that it was time for them to explain the situation, "Hey, Shads, you sure you don't want to go back to Negi's world?"

"I already made my decision, and I will stay here for the moment. Besides, after I hear your story yesterday, I know that you and Tails can handle things up on there." Shadow replied emotionless as always.

"Well, if that's what you're saying, that I guess we just have to cope with it…" Sonic scratched his back as usual. "Anyway, let's get some breakfast and have a nice long conversation to them."

After that, the group decided to have a breakfast along with the Negima group. They noticed that Asuna and Negi are already settle their little argument and went back to good term once again (Sonic already know about this). Konoka couldn't help but smile, seeing her best friend had managed to get back to good term with the red-haired mage. The couple joined the rest of the group to enjoy their breakfast made by Tails itself. Yes, the kitsune is the master when it comes to the term of cooking. The Negima group couldn't help themselves but amazed by the skill Tails had to produce the enjoyable food. This was also gained one particular person of Nodoka as the bookworm girl had a slight blush while eating the dishes that Tails made. Yue who were sitting besides her noticed her behavior and she thinks that looks like Tails had its own charm as Negi does. 'Hmm, Tails-sensei, I wonder if you know about Nodoka's situation.'

After they had their breakfast and taking a bath (the bath is already inside their respective bedroom), they gathered around at the living room so that Sonic and Tails can tell them about their story yesterday. "Alright, is everyone ready? I hope you didn't get bored because this will take a while longer."

"Of course, Sonic-kun! I will love to hear your story!" Konoka said in enthusiasm.

"Yeah yeah, we already know that baka. Just get on with the story, would you?" Asuna simply said.

"He he, alright then," Sonic turned his attention toward Tails. "Tails, please tell them."

"Alright guys, here's what happening between me and Sonic yesterday." So tails began to tell them about the event they had. Sonic decided to let Tails tells them since he was already tired of telling a full story yesterday. Hell, even Shadow doesn't want to tell it if he was in his position.

Flashback

Sonic and Tails Mindscape

"Let me get this straight," Sonic said as he and Tails finished hearing the explanation by Liliatha does. Apparently, there will be a massive dark force rise from underworld and it's going to threaten not just Sonic's world, but the other world as well. She decided to make a move quickly by shooting a blast of energy towards Sonic and Tails to embark on this she gave it to them. "You're telling me that we will have to other world to maintain the peace on it, is that what you're saying, miss?"

"Indeed it is, Sonic. I'm afraid that if I didn't make a move as fast as possible, your world and the other world will be in a great danger and thus, the massive chaos cannot be avoided and the dark forces will rule their respective world as well. As the master of Chaos Emerald, I cannot let such thing happen to it, so I decided to choose you and Tails to maintain the peace on it."

"Okay, but why you didn't choose Shadow as well? You know that he's strong as Sonic does and he could be a great aid for us as well. So why you didn't choose him, Liliatha?" Tails asked in his curiosity.

"Yes, I know that you must wonder why I didn't choose Shadow since he had a lot of potential as well. You see, he already contain a much chaos energy inside of his body, added with two Chaos Emerald inside of it makes him already full strong as he is. I'm afraid that if I shoot the energy towards him, his body cannot contain much longer of it and eventually, he will be died in his process. Surely you don't want that happen to your friends, right?"

Sonic scratched his chin as he process what Liliatha said. She may be right since Shadow was originally made by the Chaos energy and he's also had two Chaos Emerald inside of it, making it very risky move to added more chaos energy through him. "Hmm, yeah I get your point. But then you aware that Shadow had another task in our world don't you?"

"Yes, it is true. Even though I didn't choose Shadow to be part of your quest, he had already his own quest to protect your world from the dark forces that threaten this world. Since I know his behavior after the death of his beloved one, I can see that he will do it even if I didn't ask him to," Liliatha responded to Shadow's task. "As for you Sonic and Tails, because Shadow had the task to protect this world, he cannot go traveling with you."

"Wait, hold on! If he cannot go on with us, then we cannot go back to Negi's world because when I read the book about The Origin of Chaos Emerald, we have to return to our world without missing anyone or Negi and his students won't ever come back to their world. Surely you know that, Miss Liliatha?" Tails said to her in his disapproval.

"I know what you mean, Tails. But don't you forget that I'm the master of the Chaos Emerald and I also the one who make the book. The origin of the book is actually hidden at the Angel Island. You just read the copy of the book at Negi's world and thus it is not completely tell you all the stories. You can ask that red-echidna to guide for your search, but since you and Sonic want to know who is going to replace you, I should inform you about one particular person who will replace Shadow in your quest."

Sonic and Tails gasped as they known that this Liliatha person is the one who make that book and she has already find the replacement for Shadow. How crazy it could be? Sonic decided to asked her as his curiosity cannot hold on much longer, "Well, Liliatha, who's our friend that will help us then?"

"Fufufu, such an impatient hedgehog as always. Very well, I will tell you this," Liliatha took a deep breath as she was about to announced the person. "The one who will accompany through out your quest is…"

A/N: Hahaha, cliffhanger! Yes, I'm such an evil person to do this! The story won't be fun if I didn't put a cliffhanger, right? That's why I'm so evil! XD

By the way, here's another fun fact

Fun fact: Did you know that Shiraishi Ryoko, one of the top seiyuu from Nagase Kaede (Negima) to Ayasaki Hayate (Hayate no Gotoku) was also voiced one of the Sonic game as Noto Mamiko does?
