Chapter 20 - She-Devil's Rage

"FAIRY TAIL'S COUNTERATTACK, YOU SAY… THEN IN THAT CASE I'LL HAVE TO SHOW YOU JUST HOW POWERLESS YOU LOT TRULY ARE!?" Jose's voice echoed across the Phantom Lord's Building and the surrounding area, "THE NEXT BLAST OF JUPITER WILL RAIN HELL UPON YOU WITH EVEN MORE POWER AND IT WILL BE MUCH LARGER! SO SAVOR THE NEXT 15 MINUTES OF YOUR LIVES BECAUSE THEY WILL BE YOUR LAST!"

"What the hell?"Elfman muttered with grit teeth.

"They're gonna fire it again so soon?!" Loki could feel a bead of sweat go down the side of his face as he thought of the enemy sending out an even larger Jupiter blast.

"It took a lot out of Erza to hold the first one back, and Ur isn't strong enough to hold back something that strong by herself…" Gray took a glance to the side to see that Natsu had passed Erza to a concerned Mirajane and Nova, the later holding onto her mother's leg as tightly as she could.

"Are you okay Erza?" Mirajane asked as she placed one of the redhead's arms over her shoulder.

"Mommy?"

After patting her daughter's head with a comforting smile, Erza turned her head to look at the white haired barmaid. "… That blast was stronger than I thought… I just need a moment to rest."

"… Unfortunately I don't think you'll get much of a rest." Cana spoke up making several heads turned to look at her to see that the brunette was pointing at the moving building in front of them, where to their surprise thousands of ghost-like creatures were flying out of the windows and other openings. "Those things are Jose's Shade Magic given form to be his phantom soldiers."

"But that means he can release the Jupiter Cannon's next attack without worrying about his men since they aren't human!" Macao exclaimed as he clenched his fists tightly.

Wakaba took in a deep breath before blowing out a ball of smoke, "So it's either get taken down by his ghost soldiers or be eradicated by the Jupiter… not much of a choice is there."

"Then we'll just do what Fairy Tail always does," Natsu called out before punching a fist into his open palm. "Create a third option and destroy the Jupiter Cannon within 15 minutes before it fires off another shot. Just leave it to me."

"No, that will only take care of one problem." Everyone turned their heads to look at Vanitas after hearing that, signaling the Devil Slayer to continue. "The Jupiter Cannon is powered by one giant Lacrima located behind its barrel so that will be easy to destroy though they probably have someone guarding it. But there one major problem we will need to worry about, besides Gajeel and the Element Four who are most likely inside… and the second which is a lot worse."

Ur placed a hand on her hip as a calculated look grew on her face, "Just how worse is it? Are you talking about Jose?"

Vanitas shook his head a few times before glancing back at the Shades that were getting close to the mainland, "Jose is a problem but one that we can focus on later. You see… the Main Headquarters of Phantom Lord is actually a mechanical giant called the Super Mage Giant Phantom MK II." Seeing the shocked looks he was getting from the surrounding Fairy Tail members, Vanitas continued his explanation. "It is Phantom Lord's strongest weapon and is capable of using spells… But it has a major weakness."

"A weakness?" Erza repeated with a raised eyebrow.

"That's right. You seem the MKII's power source is tied to the magic of the Element Four. Which means that even defeating one of them will hinder the machine's abilities." Vanitas crossed his arms before turning to look at Natsu, "So in order to defeat Phantom Lord we not only have to destroy the Jupiter Cannon…"

"But defeat the Element Four as well…" Natsu closed his eyes for a few seconds before nodding his head, "Alright then… A small team and I will go inside and destroy the Jupiter before we turn our attention to the Element Four. Cana and Ur, I'm leaving you in charge to guide everyone to victory while Erza recovers enough to join the battle inside the Phantom Headquaters. And you know what to do, right Mira?"

"Right, I'll get to it as soon after I move Erza back to the Guild Hall. It may be in ruins but it will provide some shelter." Mirajane nodded her head before she started turning Erza and herself around. Cana and Ur moved away from the small group and started directing Fairy Tail wizards around to prep them for battle.

"Be careful Natsu, I will join you as soon as I can." Erza said to which Natsu flashed her a smile and a thumbs up.

"Good luck Daddy!" Nova cheered before she followed her mother and Mirajane towards the building.

After watching the three walk away, Natsu turned his head to the remaining wizards. "Okay then, the small team with be Gray, Elfman, Happy and myself. Are you guys ready?"

"I'm going to." Vanitas spoke up before the two could reply, making the three turn to look at him. "These guys are from my old Guild, so I can't stand by and let them destroy the place I've started to call home."

"… Will you be able to keep up with us with those injuries?" Happy questioned as he motioned to Vanitas' bandages.

With a small grin, Vanitas pulled at the wrappings causing them to tear away from his body to reveal there were no injuries remaining on his body, "I'll be fine. As a Devil Slayer I can heal myself once I devour some of my element, the damage was mostly gone already before Phantom Lord even showed up."

"Pretty sweet." Gray noted as he thought back to how Dragon Slayer magic and Devil Slayer magic were similar in the basics of it.

"Now that's a man!"

Natsu nodded his head before turning towards the building, taking off in a run with the other four behind him. "We've wasted a few minutes already. So let's not stall for anymore… LET'S GO GUYS!"

"I'll create a path for us! Ice Make… Stairs!" Once the group had reached the edge of the mainland Gray brought his hands together, before slamming them to the ground and used his powers to create a long set of stairs with a curved railing on either side that led to the cannon. "Now let's kick some ass!"

"Nice job Gray!" Natsu called out as they started running up the stairs, though Happy was actually flying next to the stairs. The group soon arrived at Jupiter's barrel and stood at the opening of circular tunnel, "Always kinda wondered what it would be like to be staring into the barrel of a gun."

"…"

"…"

"… Only you flame-brain, only you." Gray let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head.

A large sweatdrop went down the back of Happy's head as he stared at his best friend, "Natsu, we need to focus."

"Shut up, I know that!" Natsu shouted before snapping his head towards the other side of the barrel, "You said that the Lacrima used to power this thing is at the other end, right Vanitas?"

The Devil Slayer nodded his head before leading the group down the barrel until they made it to a large room with a giant Lacrima in the center with four colored crystals attached to walls surrounding it, and above the Lacrima was a giant timer. "That's right. For the power necessary on the Jupiter Cannon's scale it needs a Lacrima large enough to contain the concentration of magical power it builds up."

"Whoa, now that's one big Lacrima!" Happy commented in awe.

Gray narrowed his eyes as he examined the large object, "A large one like that has to be pretty durable."

"It's definitely got the size, but that won't stop a real man like me." Elfman said before he channeled his Take Over into his arm and turned it into his Iron Bull form, preparing to leap into the air with his fist cocked back. "We destroy this thing and Jupiter will stop!"

"Hold on… this seems too easy." Vanitas raised his hand in front of Elfman to halt the man's actions. "Jose even said it himself that the Jupiter was going to take 15 minutes to charge before its next attack, so there's no way that he would leave something like this unguarded."

"Very good, you're as keen as ever… Traitor."

"Who's that?" Happy questioned as he and the others looked down to see a man standing in front of the giant Lacrima with his arms crossed. He was a young man with two-toned black and white hair wearing a ninja outfit with a furred collar and a katana strapped to his waist, and on his face were three bars going horizontally across his face.

"… Totomaru, one of the Element Four." Vanitas clenched his fists as he stared down at the Fire Magic user.

"I don't care who he is, anyone who stands in our way is going down!" Natsu shouted as he charged forward with fire covering his fists, not noticing the smirk that appeared on Totomaru's face. But that smirk quickly turned to shock as Natsu appeared in front of him with a fist already inches from his face, "Didn't think I knew about you, did ya? My flames can't be controlled by anyone but me!"

'Impossible!' Totomaru thought to himself before he felt Natsu's fist connect with his face. Both the burning sensation of the flames and the force behind Natsu's punch almost made the Element of Fire pass out from the pain, but he didn't have time to think about it as he was sent flying back into the large Lacrima causing a small crack to form. Totomaru slid off the Lacrima and crashed into the ground causing some of the rubble to cover parts of him.

"I learned from someone a long time ago that if you don't put your heart into it then it will be impossible to use flames against ones who've master them, remember that!" Natsu shifted his gaze to the side, "Vanitas, you and Happy take care of the Lacrima while we finish this guy off. If he really is one of the sources of that giant you told us about then defeating him will buy us some more time." The black haired man nodded his head before he and Happy rushed passed the recovering Element Four member.

Totomaru quickly rose to his feet, glaring at Vanitas' back. "Damn traitor, how much did he tell them? No matter… I still have a chance as long as I-?!" The ninja-dressed wizard froze as he noticed the area around him was a little darker than normal and the area seemed a little colder, making him look up to see Natsu, Elfman and Gray were now standing over him with an ominous aura surrounding them.

Natsu cracked his flame covered knuckles while Elfman and Gray prepared their own respective magic, all three of them grinning menacingly as they stared down at the now nervously pale Totomaru. "Normally we'd settle things one on one, but we can always save that for the other three… This is some payback for your guild hurting our friends."

(Meanwhile)

Erza was leaning against the wall next to a window of the ruined Guild Hall, staring out at the battle with a frown on her face before looking down at her hands. It had been almost ten minutes since Natsu and the others had departed to destroy the Jupiter Cannon, and now Erza was starting to worry a little since they hadn't seen any changes yet."… Alright, I've waited long enough. It's time for me to join the fight."

"Erza!" The female wizard turned her head to see Lucy running over to her with a serious look on her face… but the person running towards Erza wasn't Lucy.

"Mira, did you send them off?" The woman before her was actually Mirajane, who had used her Transformation Magic to look like Lucy as a means of distraction while they sent both her and Nova to one of Fairy Tail's safe-houses.

Mirajane nodded her head as she walked to the redhead's side, "Yes Reedus should be nearing it as we speak, I had to use Sleep Magic on Lucy to get her to cooperate while Nova went willingly."

"Of course she did," Erza said with a smile before pushing off the wall. "She may be young but Nova is a smart girl… Are you sure you want to stay here though? No one would fault you for wanting to go with them to help keep them safe."

"Erza, we both know that my Satan Soul powers all but sealed themselves up after Lisanna… died." Mirajane raised her hand up to stare at it with a melancholy smile, "Unlike my usual magic, Take Over: Satan Soul is tied to my emotions and my will to control the demons that transform my body, if I don't have enough control to meet the requirements then I can't even change my hand like Elfman… but even so, I'll protect my friends at any cost!"

Erza quietly stared at the transformed woman before she let out a small laugh, making Mirajane look up at her in time to see that Erza had moved in front of her and raise a hand to place on her shoulder. "Mira, you are a lot stronger than you think. As your former rival and as your best friend I've seen you at your best and your worst, and you've always rose up to help those in need… That's one of the reasons we made you Nova's godmother, because Natsu and I know that you'll always be there to protect her when we cannot."

"… Thank you Erza," Mirajane said with a smile before the two started walking towards the door, Mirajane stopping right at the door while Erza kept on walking. 'I can't continue to stand back and do nothing, I have to fight too!'

Leaving Mirajane inside the building, Erza summoned two of her swords and started slashing away at any Shades that came at her as she made her way to Cana. The brunette was currently throwing her cards at several phantoms that were closing in on Bisca while Ur created a garden of thorns that tore the ghosts apart. The redhead flipped over an incoming Shade, slashing it in half as she passed it, and landed between the two surprised women.

"Erza, does this mean that you're back in the fight?" Cana asked as she used three of her cards to shoot a spear of lightning at a group of Shades.

"Yes! I apologize for the delay! What's the story on Natsu and his group?" Erza twisted her body around and threw one of her swords at a Shade that was about to pass through Wakaba again, "Don't let those things touch you anymore, we need every wizard we can take!"

"R-Right!" The older wizard shouted back before letting loose a barrage of smoke fists from his pipe at a large group of Shades.

Ur let out a laugh as she jumped back until she was standing back to back with Erza, "You lot certainly are entertaining, not even five minutes back and your already giving out orders. Is this what it's like when you guys aren't fighting?"

"Unfortunately we can't really use the words 'never' and 'fighting' together in the same sentence, Fairy Tail is known for its recklessness." Cana was the one who answered before a wide grin spread across her face, "But that's what makes our Guild so badass!"

"Heh, I'll have to-" The female Ice wizard was cut off as the sounds of explosions could be heard making many heads turn to see the Jupiter Cannon being consumed by a multitude of purple flamed explosions before it was reduced to rubble. "Well would you look at that."

"The Jupiter Cannon's been destroyed!"

"Natsu and the others did it!"

Cana nodded her head with a smirk as she took a handful of cards in each hand, "Those guys are fighting from the inside and took out the cannon. Now let's eliminate the enemies out here!" With another cheer, the remaining members of Fairy Tail charged towards the ghost soldiers ready to continue their fight against them.

"I'm going to join them within the building before it transforms into that giant Vanitas talked about! Cana, you and Ur will continue to take care of things here!" Erza called out to the brunette who nodded her head.

"Got it! Rip those guys a new one!"

The redhead nodded her head before running towards the ice stairs that Gray had created earlier, but as soon as she got several feet away from the stairs it broke apart. Looking up at the building she saw the reason why, the area Gray had used to connect to the building was moving away. "… Damn I was too late, it's already begun."

(Inside MKII)

"W-What's going on?" Gray exclaimed as he kneeled down to the floor to hold onto one of the nearby gears.

Elfman and Natsu were standing against the wall opposite of Gray with the larger man holding the collar of an unconscious Totomaru, who was covered in burns, ice and bruises. "What is this?!"

"The room is tilting!" Happy called out, though he appeared to be fine since he was hovering in the air.

"Could this be…? Jose is awakening the giant earlier than I thought he would!" Vanitas gritted his teeth as he held on to the one of the destroyed crystals of the giant Lacrima that were rooted to the ground. "Shit, there's no horizontal stabilization in this room!"

"BEHOLD YOU FAIRY TAIL BRATS!" Jose's voice called as the room continued to shake for several minutes before everything came to a halt. Natsu and the others managed to regain their balances before they regrouped at the new center of the room, Elfman tossing Totomaru out of the hole leading to the outside as he walked by it. "KNEEL BEFORE THE SUPER MAGE GIANT PHANTOM MKII AND KNOW YOUR POWERLESSNESS! COWER IN DESPAIR FOR THESE LAST FEW MINUTES OF YOUR REMAINING LIVES!"

"Damn it. Happy!" Natsu turned to look at his feline friend, "Go outside and take a look at the situation, I've got a bad feeling about this."

"Aye sir!" Happy saluted while extending his wing as far as they could before speeding out through the hole that Elfman had used to toss Totomaru out. The four waited with uneased expressions on their faces, and when Happy returned with a worried look of his own they didn't diminish. "This is bad, you guys! The giant is drawing an Abyss Break magic circle, and from the size of it the blast could destroy the entire town!"

"Abyss Break!? But that's one of the forbidden spells!" Natsu clenched his fist as he turned his head upwards, "Is Phantom really that insane to use something like that just to get at us? They'll kill hundreds of innocent people that live in Magnolia!"

"Well the good thing is that we know what this thing's power sources are so we know how to stop it." Gray pointed out making the others turn to look at him, "Vanitas said it himself that the Element Four are what make this thing move, and we've already defeated one of them."

"So we only need to defeat three more, plus any members that we come across… Not to mention Gajeel is also a target since he's more than likely to be in the building. Geez, things just seem to keep piling up against us." Rubbing the back of his head Elfman looked around the room they were in and saw there were several doors leading out of the room. "The best thing we can do is split up to find them as quickly as we can."

Vanitas nodded his head before holding three fingers up. "Right, so besides Gajeel… the three that we need to look for are Sol, Aria and… Juvia."

Noticing the hesitant look on his face, Gray spoke up. "You okay there Vanitas?"

"Yeah, it's just… Back when I was in Phantom Lord I was only close with two people, Gajeel and Juvia. The former was a sparring partner/friend and we got along well, but Juvia was my best friend in the guild and we used to talk a lot. She's not a bad person at all, just misguided by Jose because of her loneliness…"

"Well regardless of who she is, if she's an enemy that we need to defeat then we can't afford to hold back." Natsu stated making the others nod their heads at his words, even a frowning Vanitas. "But I suppose if she surrendered then that is okay as well… anyway Vanitas, come here."

"Huh?" The Devil Slayer raised an eyebrow with a look of curiosity on his face before he moved in front of Natsu, who raised his hand and placed it on Vanitas' chest. "Natsu, what are you doing?"

"If we're going to be fighting these guys then you're going to need more access of your powers, we don't want a repeat of last time. Luckily for us the only people who can remove the limiter temporarily are Gramps and any of us who are S-Class." Natsu explained as he and the others recalled Vanitas' appearance after his battle with Gajeel and Aria. "So then… I, Natsu Dragneel, an S-Class wizard of Fairy Tail release the seal on Vanitas Darkblade until the battle between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord has ended."

Purple ruins appeared across Vanitas' body and flashed several times before the ruin's color shifted to a light green, and Vanitas' body emitted a black aura. Dust and shadows picked up and swirled around his body a few times before falling to the ground, and seconds later Vanitas let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "… It's been so long since I've felt like this, my power is flowing out of me."

"So this is what you are like at full power, not bad." Gray commented with a smirk.

Elfman nodded his head in agreement, "A man's real strength is shown by his resolve and magical power."

"Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's divide and conquer!" Natsu called out with Gray, Elfman, Vanitas and Happy nodding their head with looks of determination.

"Right!"

In a secret location on the other side of town, one of Fairy Tail's secret hideouts is disguised as a normal warehouse among many others. It was an easy way for them to keep some of their supplies when they felt it would be too dangerous to have in the Guild Hall or if someone needed a place to hide for a little bit, like Gray did after he absentmindedly stripped in front of a group of wizards from the Mermaid Heel Guild… it wasn't a pretty sight. Now when one thinks of a safe house, most would think that it involved a quiet, unnoticeable place where the people who were hiding would try to stay silent in order to avoid detection.

"GET AWAY FROM ME PERVERT! WHY ARE YOU IN MY ROOM?!"

"WAAAHH?!"

… Obviously they didn't take two things into account, the first being that the hideout belonged to Fairy Tail so staying silent wasn't really a guaranteed thing. The second involved the person in hiding to know that she was in a hideout, which wasn't the case after being hit by a Sleeping Spell and transported while unconscious. This was the scenario that Lucy was currently in as soon as she woke up, opening her eyes to see a man's shadowy face inches away from her own before kicking him away.

"Welcome back Miss Lucy!" Nova said cheerfully as she looked up from her drawings that Reedus had been helping her with before he had gone to wake Lucy up.

"Nova? What are you doing here? Wait a minute… This isn't my room!" Lucy looked around frantically as she looked around the room before her attention focused on the large man she had kicked. "Oh Reedus, I'm so sorry!"

"I-It's no trouble at all Lucy." Reedus replied as he managed to get back to his feet before reaching up to tilt his hat back into place, "I'm glad to see that you're awake now."

"Awake… That's right, Mira cast a Sleep Spell on me." Lucy recalled as she sat on a crate across from a recovering Reedus, who was sitting next to Nova and watching her paint.

"Oui. This is our emergency hideout that only a few know about, so it's the perfect place to stay until the war is over." Reedus explained as he lifted his own blank piece of paper and started to paint of picture of Lucy.

"I suppose that would make sense since I lost my keys," Lucy replied with a downcast look. "But even without my keys I could have done more than slow them down…"

Nova looked up from her painting with a frown, "But Aunt Mira just wanted to keep you safe, Miss Lucy."

"She's right. It doesn't have anything to do with your keys or you thinking that you would be a burden." Reedus looked up from his painting towards the subject of his artwork, "Protecting one of our own is something we would do in a heartbeat… That is all that matters to us."

"But even if you say that, I can't just let them fight for the guild while I do nothing!" Lucy shouted as she shot up from her seat and walked closer to the large artist. "I have to go back and fight with them!"

"I'm sorry Lucy, but I can't let you go back." Reedus shook his head a few times before looking back down at his painting, "Mirajane gave me strict orders to protect and keep you safe and you need to respect her wishes."

Lucy stomped her foot in response, "That isn't right though. I have as much reason as anyone to-"

"Please Miss Lucy…" The blond look down to see that Nova was now standing next to her, staring up at the older girl with a quivering lip and teary eyes. "I don't want you to go… So please just stay here with us…"

"Nova…" After a few seconds, Lucy knelt down and pulled the girl into a hug. "Alright, I won't go anywhere."

"…Thank you." Nova muttered as she stared to hug Lucy back.

Reedus watched the two with a small smile, but that went away quickly as he noticed Nova suddenly started to tremble. He wasn't the only one to notice as Lucy felt the girl in her arms tense up and pulled away from her, "Nova? Is something wron-"

"I found you~" A voice called out from the other side of the hideout's entrance, instantly making the two grown up snap their head in time to see several large dents start to form on the door. After a few more loud bangs a familiar iron club shot through the door and slammed into Reedus which sent the man flying back into a few crates. Lucy and Nova ran to the man's side with worried expressions, before hearing footsteps walking through the entrance towards them. The two turned their heads and saw a smirking Gajeel looking at them with one of his hands transformed. "Did you really think you could hide from me, Princess…? You must be Salamander's brat, I can tell from the stench of you… Looks like I've got a two for one deal!

(Fairy Tail Guild Hall)

"Hey Mira..." Cana leaned her back to the wall of the destroyed Guild Hall as she talked to Mirajane, who was still inside the building watching the battle through a window. "How long until this spell is activated?"

"Probably about ten minutes, a spell like that needs at least that much time to complete." Mirajane answered as she turned her head back to look at the giant's magic circle through the window, "Depending on if more than enough of the Element Four are defeated it may take even longer."

"Yeah… Vanitas said as much," Cana nodded her head in agreement as her gaze focused on the thousands of Shades flying overhead. "Natsu and the others most likely split up to cover more ground to find them, and Erza will most likely be joining up with them soon."

"I never asked, but who did Natsu take with him?" Mirajane asked as she shifted her gaze to the brunette. "Obviously he took Happy, but who else?"

Cana closed her eyes briefly before she exhaled a small breath she didn't realized she was holding, "He also took Gray, Vanitas and Elfman."

"E-Elfman! W-What is he doing inside that thing?" Mirajane questioned as she spun around to face Cana, every inch of her face was covered in worry. "He can't! Elfman can't fight! You should know that too, Cana!"

"Why are you so surprised...even if Natsu hadn't said anything, Elfman would have wanted to go." Cana flashed the transformed girl a comforting smile, "Elfman can fight just fine. He did take part in the raid earlier."

"It's one thing to go up against a grunt, but if he winds up against the Element Four or even Gajeel the way he is right now then he could..."

"Look Mira...I know you and Elfman were both terribly hurt by what happened back then, hell all of us did too. But Elfman is trying hard to keep moving forward…" Cana's gaze drifted down to the flower bracelet on Mirajane's wrist, "Just like you are trying too as well."

Mirajane didn't say anything as she followed Cana's gaze her the bracelet, before reaching up slowly and tightly grabbing onto the bracelet as an image of Lisanna flashed through her mind before shifting to a smiling Nova. 'Elfman and I… are both trying to move forward. But the difference is that I haven't been fighting like he has… but that stops now!' Nodding to herself with new determination building up inside of her, Mirajane made her way outside and walked passed a surprised Cana before making her way towards the battlefield.

"M-Mira?! Wait a minute!"

"Stay back! It's dangerous here!"

"Get back Mira!"

"What are you doing?!"

"… Enough of this Jose Porla, I'm the one you're after right? Stop attacking the guild right now! If you stop attacking our guild right now I will go with you!" Mirajane shouted as she ignored her guild-mates and spread her arms out before the giant, knowing full well that the Phantom Lord Guildmaster could see her. 'This should buy us a little bit of time...'

Meanwhile in the control room of the Phantom Lord MKII, a member Phantom looked back at Jose who was staring at the supposed Lucy Heartfilia through the magical circle that gave them visual of the battlefield. "Master Jose, is that her?"

Jose only sneered at the image of the girl before his voice echoed from the giant. "BEGONE… IMPOSTOR!"

'No way...' Mirajane's eyes widen in shock after hearing those words.

"I KNEW RIGHT FROM THE START THAT LUCY HEARTFILIA WASN'T HERE. DID YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD BELIEVE THAT YOU WOULD KEEP SOMEONE WE WERE TARGETING SO CLOSE TO THE BATTLEFIELD?!" Mirajane's body began to transform back as Jose continued to speak, "IN FACT… I'VE ALREADY MADE PREPARATIONS FOR LUCY HEARTFILIA'S RETRIEVAL!"

"Damn! Then that means he's already sent someone after her!" Cana cursed as she threw another batch of cards at some incoming Shades.

Ur raised her hands and created a shield to block a charging phantom before changing the covering to resemble spikes, "I guess that's why that guy with the shades left a little while ago. He must've sensed something was wrong…"

Meanwhile as the wizards of Fairy Tail continued to fight Jose's Shades, Mirajane could only think one thing to herself as she looked at the ground with clenched fists. ''Why am I...so useless…?!'

(MKII East Corridor)

"Uooooooogh! I will protect Fairy Tail even if it costs me my life! That is what it means to be a man!" Elfman roared as he ran down a hallway, though he quickly came to a stop as he felt someone's presence behind him and turned around to see a man emerge from the ground. "Huh?"

"Salut!" The man greeted as he swayed from side to side.

Elfman slowly took off his coat, keeping his gaze firmly on the green haired man in front of him. "… You're a member of the Element Four."

"Correct! My name is Sol. But you can call me, Monsieur Sol." Sol greeted with a mock bow.

"You have perfect timing! I was looking for one of you guys. Defeating one of you means the Abyss Break will lose even more power and this giant will be stopped!" Elfman grinned as he raised his arm and transformed into one of his beast forms. "Beast Arm: Black Bull!"

"Oh? Do you honestly think transforming only your right arm will give you a fighting chance against me?" Sol said as he started moving side to side with an amused grin. "It seems the rumors about you were true after all."

"Oh shut up, a real man doesn't care about rumors!" Elfman charged forward and threw a downward punch at the man, only for Sol to leap away with a smirk on his face.

"I know all about you… or rather, I know many details when it comes to the wizards of Fairy Tail."

"Dammit! Don't you ever stop talking?!" Elfman shouted and threw another punch at him, but Sol flipped over the arm and stared directly at the white haired wizard.

"I believe you… used to have a little big sister, right?" Sole said while in midair causing Elfman's eyes to widen slightly. But before Elfman could say or do anything, Sol landed on his feet and created around Elfman which caused the larger man to block his gaze. "Sable Dance!"

"Ugh..." Elfman grit his teeth as he tried to locate his opponent through the sand, "Where did he...?"

"Roche Concerto!" Sol's voice called out from behind as Elfman was suddenly pounded by many rocks that were shooting up from the ground

'Damn it… if this keeps up then I'll have to…' The Take Over wizard thought to himself as he back flipped away from Sol and his barrage of rocks before landing on his feet several yards away.

"If I recall correctly..." Sol started to speak while he played with his thin mustache, " A few years back, you attempted to perform a Full-Body Take Over, but it went wrong and you went berserk...your darling little sister gave her life to stop you from going on a rampage, isn't that right? Not only that, but the trauma of it resulted in you from never using the Full-body Take Over ever since."

Elfman glared at him and then transformed his arm again, but this time to the Iron Bull. "Don't act like you know me or anything about what happened!" He shouted as he threw a punch with his new arm, but Sol slipped into the earth to dodge and then reappeared from behind Elfman. He turned his head and before he knew it, the Element 4 member began spinning in a circular motion around his arm, gripping it tightly with his body like a snake. "W-What the hell?!"

"Salut!"

"You're seriously freaking me out! Fucking creep!" Elfman cursed and tried to pull the man off his arm, however Sol was wrapped to tightly around his arm and wouldn't budge an inch.

"Non, non, non! That is nonsense with three nons!" Sol replied as he tightened his grip on Elfman's arms, "And with those nons you don't stand any chance against me or Phantom Lord!"

"Get the hell off me you Mansewer Sol!"

"Idiot, it's pronounced Monsieur." Sol unwrapped himself from the beast arm and spun around again before he kicked Elfman across the face, quickly following it up by another kick that sent the bigger man to the floor.

"Like I give a shit!" Elfman shouted as he struggled to get back to his feet.

"Hohoho, have we reached the finale?"

'Damn this guy... Looks like I have no choice but to use that...' Elfman wiped the blood that was dripping from the corner of his mouth before standing up. He clenched his fists and with a shout released as much of his magic power as he could causing his entire body to start changing again. But before he could finish the process an image of Lisanna flashed through his mind, causing him to hesitate for a second. That hesitation was enough to cancel the transformation and seconds later a large surge of pain shot up from his right arm that caused him to buckle and drop down to one knee. '…Lisanna…'

"Hmm! You should avoid attempting that which you cannot! It would appear your magic has dropped drastically from just trying to use that!" Sol charged at Elfman and kicked him in the stomach, causing Elfman to spit out blood as he fell forward. "All those comments you make about being a real man are utter nonsense, just a cover to hide the weak person you really are. Someone such as you who killed his own baby sister has no right to speak of such things!"

"M-Maybe you right and maybe your not, but even so…" Elfman managed to rise back to his feet as he gave Sol a large grin, "A real man doesn't surrender when he has things worth fighting for, regardless of his past."

"Hmmm… I suppose a monster like you just doesn't know when to shut your mouth. "Sol commented as he started gathering a large amount of Earth Magic for his next attack. "Then as a gentleman, I feel like I should end this with my most powerful attack to show you what a real man is capable of." The green haired man summoned a brown magic circle in front of him which created a large fist made out of plaster that launched itself at the male Strauss. "Platre Sonata!"

"Gaaahhh!" Elfman groaned in pain as he crashed into the wall and breaking it. The sunlight shone through the opening as his head slightly hung from the edge. "D-Damn it, he's stronger than he looks."

"This is the power of the Element Four!" Sol said to his opponent as he used the earth around Elfman to cover the man. "And now for the Coup de Grâce, a spell perfect for a man such as yourself. A man who doesn't deserve to be called one because he was too weak to do anything for his sisters!"

"… Lisanna died… because I was too weak..." Elfman muttered to himself as he felt the rocks cover him, covering his eyes as he felt the darkness and pain close in on him.

Sol grinned as he leaned forward, "That is correct, and even now you are too weak. You cannot protect your guild or your big sister."

"Big… Sis?!" Elfman's eyes widened as light started to shine through the rocks, before long the light spread across Elfman's body and pushed away the rocks. "… That's right… I need to get stronger, I need more power… to protect Mira…"

"W-What is going on?!" Sol stuttered as he took a step back.

Elfman gritted his teeth and he closed his eyes as he felt power surge through his body, "I made a promise to her… and to Natsu…"

Flashback

"Hey Elfman, glad you could come."

"Yeah, so what did you want Natsu?"

"Elfman… I've been training with Erza and get stronger so I can protect the guild, so no one has to go through this again." Natsu spoke up as he and Elfman stood in front of the grave Natsu had created for Lisanna. It had been several months since her death and the Dragon Slayer had requested for Elfman to meet him there. "I wanted to let you know that and I was hoping you could spar with me sometimes om the future so we can both get stronger."

"B-But Natsu… how can you… hold yourself together? After everything I've done… how can you forgive me?"

Natsu grinned at Elfman before tapping his guild mark with his fist, "Because we're family, we need to be there for each other when things get bad… Otherwise the pain and loneliness will consumes us, and I know that Lisanna wouldn't be happy if I let that happen. That's why I wanted to say this to you, and I know this is a little late to be saying this but… I'm sorry."

"… Thank you Natsu, but I really don't deserve that." Elfman replied only for Natsu to hit him upside the head which made the larger man crash to the ground. "What the hell Natsu?!"

"I did that to knock some sense into you! Her death was something that will live with us, and we can blame ourselves however we want… But the truth of it is," Natsu closed his eyes as a bitter smile appeared on his face. "Lisanna died because she loved you and didn't want you to suffer, there's no one to blame when it comes to that… So what do you say, let's get stronger to protect Mira and the others!"

"Natsu," Elfman felt tears build up in his eyes but he quickly wiped them away. "… Yeah, of course… Real men like us need to get stronger to protect everyone!"

"Right, then it's a promise. We won't give up and we won't lose anyone else!"

Flashback End

"I swore I would never lose myself again… I WILL PROTECT MY BIG SISTER!" Elfman's voice echoed through the hole and into the battlefield making Mirajane snap her head upward to see a bright light shining through a giant hole.

"That light…!? Oh no… STOP ELFMAN!" Mirajane shouted as she realized what the light was.

Sol grinned as he watched the larger man attempt a Full-Body Take Over, "You fool. Don't try something you can't do."

"Rrrraaaaaagggghhhhhhh!" Elfman roared as he felt his magic continue to course throughout his body. A large purple magic circle covered him as his body began to change, growing in size and shifting in appearance. Glowing purple eyes turned their attention to Sol, who was trembling as he took in the size and power emitting from the beast's body.

"H-Hold on a minute...t-this is it... the Full-Body Take Over: Beast Soul!?" Sol shouted in fear as sweat dripped down the sides of his face.

"Elfman...no!" Mirajane cried again as she feared that her younger brother lost control, Ur and Cana were standing next to her staring up at the monster in shock. But to her surprise, the Beast Soul form her brother took didn't go on a rampage but instead stare down at Sol.

"So tell me Mansewer Sol… Do you still think I'm too weak?" Elfman's voice called out from the beast's mouth, but the monocle wearing wizard was too scared to answer. Elfman raised his new arm above his head before bringing it down on Sol's still body, making him crash into the ground and creating a large crater. But that didn't stop the Take Over wizard as he continued his barrage of punches until he could see that the green haired man was unconscious. "I'm a real man with the powers of a Beast… and I don't intend to ever let it consume me again… because I am a wizard of Fairy Tail."

"….aaaaaaaaaiii…." Sol unconscious body let out a squeak as Elfman removed his fist from crushing his body.

With a breath of steam coming out of the Elfman's mouth, the beast's form glowed brightly and started to shrink as he reverted to his original form. "… Only two of the Element Four are left, I hope the others manage to reach them in time." But before the man could start moving, a strange sound echoed through the halls, "What the?"

(Main Battlefield & Inside MKII)

"ATTENTION MEMBERS OF FAIRY TAIL! I WIL ADMIT I AM SURPRISED YOUR WIZARDS MANAGED TO DEFEAT TWO OF MY ELEMENT FOUR. BUT HAVE SOME INTERESTING NEWS FOR ALL OF YOU, I HOPE YOU LISTEN CLOSELY!" Everyone looked towards the giant as tension filled the air, wondering what the Guildmaster of Phantom Lord had to say.

"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

"N-No way..." Gray muttered to himself as he stopped his running to hear the announcement.

"Wasn't that…?" Vanitas raised an eyebrow as he turned his head towards one of the speakers.

Cana and the others were shocked at the pain-filled scream that echoed through the radio, "That was Lucy's voice."

"But how did they find her?" Ur questioned as she narrowed her eyes.

Macao grimaced as a thought came to mind, "It must've been Gajeel. As a Dragon Slayer Natsu says he has a great sense of smell, so the same must be the same for that guy as well."

"MOMMY! DADDY! HELP ME!"

"Oh no… Please god, no…" Mirajane's hands went straight to her mouth as she heard the next voice, tears forming in her eyes as her body started to shake. "Nova!"

"Damn them, they took Nova as well!? Those bastards!" Elfman shouted before he continued running down the hallway he was originally heading.

"Dragging a child into this, how low will those assholes sink?" Bisca tightened her grip on her guns as she could hear the sounds of Nova's crying in the background.

"WITH THIS OUR FIRST OBJECTIVE IS COMPLETE, WITH A LITTLE BONUS ON THE SIDE…" Jose once again took control of the speakers as he continued to speak, "THE NEXT OBJECTIVE ON OUR LIST IS MY FAVORITE PART… WIPING AWAY EVERY SINGLE TRACE OF FAIRY TAIL FROM THIS WORLD!" Everyone on the outside could see a magic circle appear over the giant's free hand and a small figure fall out of it before being pinched by two of the MKII's fingers, and to their horror that figure was a crying Nova. "MIRAJANE STRAUSS, FROM THE INTEL I'VE GATHERED YOU'RE PRETTY ATTACHED TO THIS CHILD. SO AS YOUR PUNISHMENT FOR TRYING TO DECIEVE ME YOU CAN WATCH AS I CRUSH THE LIFE OUT OF THIS GIRL BEFORE I CAST ABYSS BREAK TO WIPE YOU ALL OUT!"

"Nova!" Cana called out as she cast another lightning spell to destroy a Shade that was trying to attack her and Mirajane.

Ur had an enraged look as she created more thorny vines that wrapped around several Shades before ripping them apart, "We need to rescue her! Do you guys anyone that can fly?"

"No… damn it, there has to be something we can do!" Macao shouted in anger.

"Nova… Please guys, please get to her in time… Mira?" Cana looked over to the side to see that Mirajane had gone completely silent as she stared at the ground, her hair covering her face from view.

"Damn them, how dare they!" Erza shouted as she and Natsu burst through the doors leading to the throne room where Jose usually was. "The moment they placed their hands on Nova was the moment they signed their death warrant!"

"I can smell him, Jose is just up ahead!" Natsu called out as he had the same furious expression his wife had. The two, plus Happy, had met up on the way and decided to head straight for Aria since he was the most dangerous of the Element Four before they took on Jose together, but their plan was ruined however when they heard the broadcast followed by their daughter's cries. Natsu sent Happy off to find Lucy after pointing the direction she was in and getting her out of there while they changed their target to Jose.

"When I find that man he will suffer!" Erza growled as she and Natsu approached the stairway, only for a large figure to appear out of nowhere.

"How sad, both Salamander and Titania have appeared before me and now their lives are forfeit. Forced to suffer the same fate as their Master Makarov." Aria said as he reached up and started to pull at his bandages, "Against you two I have no choice but to go all ou-"

"Heaven's Wheel: Blumenblatt!"

"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!"

Erza and Natsu didn't give Aria time to pull off his blindfold as they charged right through him without any hesitation and unleashed their attacks in unison with each other. Aria wasn't even aware of what happened as he was burned and struck with multiple swords, only the pain he felt before slamming into the ground. Erza dismissed her armor while Natsu swiped away the flames on his hands.

"We don't have time to deal with the likes of you." Natsu commented as he turned to face Aria's fallen form. "Your master made a giant mistake with pissing us off by taking our daughter!"

"And your sneak attack against our master was nothing to brag about since he will live on, a man like you is nothing compared to him. Erase him from your list of triumphs and slump off to the trash where you belong." Erza glared back at Aria before whipping her head around to the stairs and started walking.

"T-That's…so… sad!" Aria gasped out as unconsciousness overtook him.

"Another one of the Element Four defeated, which means the Abyss Break is almost done." Natsu commented as he followed Erza up the stairs, "Once the final Element has been defeated the spell and theMKII with lose their power."

"Yes, that's good to hear." Erza replied in a firm tone as she continued walking, only for Natsu to grab one of her hands to stop her. "… Let go of me Natsu."

"Nova is going to be alright, we both know there is someone out there that will protect her with everything they have." Natsu said with a comforting voice.

Erza turned her head to look at Natsu, showing him the worry that was in her eyes. "I know that… But still, I couldn't keep her out harm's way… what kind of mother am I if I can't protect my only daughter!"

"You're a wonderful mother Erza, and Nova knows that. Just like she knows I'm an awesome father." Natsu brought Erza into a quick hug before placing his hands on her shoulders, "Now we're going to get in there, kick Jose's ass and stop the war, and then head home with our daughter to eat a large dinner with all sorts of food… and maybe have some of that strawberry cake from that bakery you two like."

"… Right, I'm looking forward to it." Erza nodded her head with smile before it turned into a smirk, "It's funny. I used to remember I was the one who gave you the pep talks that fired you up, when did it become the reverse."

Natsu let out a laugh as he and Erza resumed they running towards Jose's location, "Well I had to learn to do it myself after hearing you do it so often."

(Outside the Building)

"MOMMY! DADDY! WHERE ARE YOU! PLEASE SAVE ME!" Nova was in tears as she felt the large fingers press harder into her body while she watched everyone fight below, but her eyes soon caught sight of a familiar face standing in the middle of the crowd. "AUNT MIRA, I'M SCARED!"

Mirajane could feel tears falling down her face as she heard her goddaughter's pleas, her body shaking as memories of Lisanna's death burned through her mind. 'Nova… I-I can't lose you too!' More memories flashed through her mind, this time filled with moments she had with Nova, with one of the most important filling her mind.

Flashback

"Who's a cute little baby?" Mirajane smiled as she held a baby Nova in her arms. The baby had a red tuff of hair on her head with a rose-pink tip and was staring up at the pretty lady holding her with big brown eyes and a toothless smile. "You are just so cute! Just like your daddy when he was little."

"I was not cute!" Natsu's voice called out from the kitchen while Mirajane and Erza sat in the living room of Natsu and Erza's house. "Boys are not cute, we're handsome or hot!"

"Whatever you say Natsu, but what about boys being cool?" Erza questioned in amusement as she watched Mirajane rock Nova a little bit.

Natsu popped his head out and frowned at the two girls, "Hel…Heck no, that is something related to Gray and I refuse to have anything to do with that iceprick!"

"Good save there Natsu, but the next time I hear you nearly curse in front of our daughter I will punish you." Erza threatened as she gave her husband a mild glare, who nodded his head in agreement since he knew that if one of Nova's first words was something inappropriate then Erza would bring hell to Magnolia. "Did you bring the bottle?"

"Yeah, and I made sure to heat it up a bit. Luckily Macao showed me how to use my flames for these kinds of things." Natsu said while he walked into the family room with a bottle of milk in hand.

Being a fellow Fire Magic user and a father, Macao had pulled Natsu to the said and had the younger wizard write down some advice he had when it came to raising a child and some tips that could come in handy with their flames… Natsu couldn't have thanked Macao enough when he made his first attempt at changing Nova's diaper, which was hell for him due to his enhanced sense of smell.

Erza nodded her head as she took the bottle from Natsu and turned her head towards Mirajane and Nova, and after a few seconds the redhead spoke up. "Mira, would you like to feed her?"

"Of course! If that's alright with you two." Mirajane replied with a bright smile before she was handed the bottle and turned her attention to Nova, who almost attacked the bottle when she saw it. "Oh my, she certainly has your appetite Natsu."

"… Don't remind me." Erza absentmindedly raised her hand to her torso as she recalled the number of times Nova wanted a meal during the day, the doctor had said the number of times would die down later on but for now it was still in the normal range.

After a few more minutes of feeding Nova, the three soon put her to sleep with Happy watching over her… though Erza made sure to keep the magical baby monitor on after the last time Happy watch he, thinking that it was a good idea to try and give Nova a fish but luckily Natsu was there to stop him in time. The three were sitting around the table of the dining room drinking some tea, though Natsu's had extra cinnamon in it for the spicy taste.

After taking a sip of her tea, Mirajane smiled at the couple as she spoke up. "She really is adorable you two, and I'm sure she's going to be the perfect combination of you two."

"Thank you Mira." Erza replied as she took a sip of her tea.

"So what was it you guys wanted to talk about, I mean I'm always happy to see Nova but you two made it sound like it was pretty important." The white haired barmaid noticed the married wizards in front of her looked at each other before Erza nodded her head.

Natsu put down his tea cup before speaking, "The thing is Mira, we actually wanted to talk to you about two things. Both of them involve Nova and we wanted to-"

"Is she alright?!" Mirajane asked in a worried tone.

"No, she fine. The things we wanted to talk about… well, firstly it's about her name." Natsu adverted his eyes as he fiddled with the teacup in his hands and then took in a deep breath, "Okay, I've never been good at this kind of thing so I'll just go out and say it. We want to her make her middle name Lisanna, and we wanted to make sure it was alright with you."

"You… want to give her… Lisanna's name?" Mirajane repeated as tears started to build up in her eyes.

"Mira, are you okay?!" Erza stood from her seat and moved next to her best friend, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Natsu wanted to do it as a namesake for Lisanna since they were best friends, and I thought it was great but we should ask you first."

Natsu moved over to Mirajane as well, "If you don't want us to-"

Both he and Erza were caught by surprise as Mirajane pulled the two of them into a one arm hug for each of them as tear fell down her smiling face. "… Nova Lisanna Dragneel, it's a wonderful name. And I'm sure Lisanna would have loved it as well." The three smiled at each other as they continued to hug, but after a few minutes they parted and Mirajane remembered there was another reason they wanted to see her. "And what was the second thing?"

"We want you to be her godmother," This time it was Erza who spoke up as she flashed Mirajane a warm smile.

"You want me… to be Nova's godmother? I'm honored, but are you sure?" Mirajane blinked a few times as she pointed at herself.

"Of course we are, Natsu had already decided on her godfather… and while I am shocked on his choice I will accept it." Erza gave a side glance in her husband's direction before she shook her head to resume what she was saying, "Anyway, the two of us both agree that you are the perfect choice to be her godmother. You are loving, you will be able to be there for her if something should happen to us, and most importantly you'll be able to protect her from danger."

"But Erza, I haven't used my Take Over powers in two years." Mirajane replied while reaching up to brush some loose hair behind her ear. "I don't think that I am qualified to protect her."

"No way… Mira, there is no one on this planet we would trust Nova with more than you." Natsu said with a smile, while Erza moved behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "So what do you say? Will you be her godmother and be there for her?"

After what seemed like minutes, Mirajane nodded her head. "Of course I will. I promise I won't let anything bad happen to her while I am watching over her."

Flashback End

"Nova… Nova…Nova," The wind around Mirajane started to pick up making her hair floating in the air as she kept repeating the girls name over and over, the only thing the woman could hear beside the name she was calling out was the sound of her own heartbeat. "… How dare you… hurt my precious Nova…"

Cana quickly turned her head to look at Mirajane, her eyes widening as she could feel a huge amount of magical power coming from the white haired woman. "Mira… no way!"

Almost everyone turned their attention towards Mirajane once they felt her power start building up higher than anything that had felt before. But she paid them no mind as her body and the area surrounding her started to glow gold, "…NOVAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Almost instantly the ground under her broke apart and boulders shot out of the ground, a gigantic black magical circle formed over the screaming woman's head as her body started to change.

"Holy crap!"

"Don't tell me Mira's…"

Mirajane continued to scream as her body changed, but to the surprise of many she didn't take the appearance of her Satan Soul… no, this form was a lot different from that. She had the same hairstyle and facial appearance, but she now had grown horns made of long sky blue scales that extended backwards to a pointed edge, with the horn's scales also extending to form a pattern on her face. Her ears were currently hidden behind her new horns, which were pointed upwards similar. She gained a similar scale-like covering on her forearms and hands as well as on her legs and she grows a large, sky blue, stocky and seemingly aquatic tail. Her clothes had completely changed from the maroon dress she normally wore and was replaced by a light and dark blue, striped, one-piece suit with pointed shoulder-pads. The one-piece revealed her arms and legs, and had an opening on the front and the back which exposed most of her stomach, wide cleavage, and upper back.

"Wait a minute, isn't that-"

"Didn't Master Makarov forbid her from using that?"

"… Satan Soul: Halphas… I'm coming Nova." Mirajane muttered with a slightly deeper voice as she looked up at the giant's hand where Nova was being held, and between them were thousands of Shadesdarting towards her. The female Strauss crossed her arms in front of her before swinging them outward with a snarl, "Get the fuck out of my way!"

Almost instantly every single one of the Shades in front of her were destroyed by the movement, shocking many as they looked from the area the phantom soldiers had been to where Mirajane was standing. The white haired woman now had two sky-blue wings composed of numerous spiky scales that are always pointing upwards, but they didn't have a chance to get a good look at her as her form completely vanished from their sight.

"So fast! I guess this means the She-Devil is back." Wakaba commented with a smirk as he smoked more of his pipe.

"And she's pissed." Macao replied with a shiver going up his spine as he remembered the damaged she had caused in that form.

"But that's a good, isn't it?" Ur crouched a little as she felt exhaustion start to get to her, panting a little as she placed a hand on her knee. 'Not fighting at 100 percent is a pain in the ass, but I can't afford to let it get to me now.'

In the grip of the MKII, Nova let out a whimper as she closed her eyes from feeling the painful pressure holding onto her press even harder on her. 'Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Mira…Please, I don't want to be here anymore!' Almost as if her prayers were answered, there was a loud sound of something crashing into the giant hand she was in and suddenly she no longer felt like the pressure surrounding her. The girl slowly opened her eyes to see she was now hovering above the giant machine, with the fingers of the hand that had been holding her crushed and large pieces of it now falling to the sea.

"Are you okay Nova?" A familiar melodious voice spoke up above her, making Nova realize she was being held in a comforting, yet scaly, hug. "That must've been really scary for you, but don't worry. You're completely safe now."

Nova looked up with wide eyes as she saw that it was Mirajane holding onto her, "Aunt Mira… Aunt Mira!" With happy tears now falling down her face, Nova hugged the transformed woman as tightly as she could.

"There, there." Mirajane smiled lightly as she softly raised one of her hands to the back of Nova's head and soothingly stroked the girl's hair. Seconds later though, Nova could feel Mirajane's hand freeze."Nova, I need you to be a good girl and wait a minute while I take care of something."

Despite not knowing what her godmother was going to do, Nova nodded her head and watched as the older woman look downward and point her open hand at something. Following the direction she was pointing her hand in Nova saw that the giant's hand was slowly reaching for them with its remaining finger with several of Jose's Shades surrounding it, the small girl turned back to see purple and blue energy spiraling into Mirajane's hand.

"Aunt Mira?"

"Don't worry, I'll protect you," Mirajane smiled at the girl before turning back to the approaching enemies, "… I won't allow you to harm Nova or any more people precious to me! Cosmic Beam!" A purple and blue magic circle appeared in front of Mirajane's hand, and the energy she had charged up was released in a large beam of energy that tore through the phantoms and obliterated the entire left arm of the MKII, the beam continued passed the giant to the sea behind it and caused a massive explosion that created a giant deep hole that was temporarily devoid of any water. "… Now let's get you back onto the ground."

"But Aunt Mira, since when have you been able to do that…!? Wow~" Nova's eyes shined as she finally took in Mirajane's new appearance, "Is this that power you and Mommy always talked about? The Satan Soul?"

"Sort of, this is one of my other forms called Demon Halphas. What do ya think?" Mirajane asked with a playful wink as she started making her way back to the Fairy Tail Guild Hall.

"You look so pretty and cool!" Nova answered as she smiled brightly at her favorite aunt, "I really like your wings too, but why do they look like angel wings?"

"Angel wings? Huh, I suppose they kinda do. I've never really noticed." Mirajane shrugged to herself before she and Nova started to giggle at each other. Once Mirajane landed on the ground, she gentle placed her down and gave the girl a smile. "Now you go find somewhere safe while I take care of these guys, alright? I'll won't let them get anywhere near you."

"Alright Aunt Mira, do your best!" Nova cheered before she ran off.

Mirajane smiled as she watched Nova move behind one of the trees a good distance away, before quickly reaching behind her to grab an incoming Shade that was trying to attack her from behind. The She-Devil turned back to look at the trapped phantom, the warm smile instantly replaced by an evil grin while the area around her eyes darkened. "Since you all don't feel any pain… I won't have to hold myself back from tearing every single one of you apart limb by limb."

(Phantom Lord Hallway)

"Man that was some shaking before." Vanitas said to himself as he ran passed a group of unconscious Phantom wizards. After hearing the broadcast Vanitas had decided to search for Gajeel, since the Iron Dragon Slayer was the biggest threat next to Jose. After turning another corner, Vanitas caught sight of a familiar face. "Elfman!"

"Oh, Vanitas." The large man turned his head from a giant hole going to the outside, "How has your search been going?"

The black haired man shook his head as he walked up to Elfman, "Unfortunately I haven't found any of the Element Four, but after what I heard earlier I decided to go after Gajeel… Any idea what all of that shaking was about before?"

"It was Mira," Elfman answered before pointing outside towards the battlefield below. "… It's been a long time since I've seen that form, I'm terrified just thinking of what she will do while in that form."

"Mira? I thought she wasn't able to use her powers, can she use Take Over like yo-" Vanitas was cut off as he looked out the hole and saw the battle happening on the mainland, more specifically the demonized woman flying through the sky tearing through the Shades like paper. "… Wow, she's amazing."

"Bis Sis has a unique Take Over called Satan Soul which allows her to take the powers and forms of different demons." Elfman explained as he couldn't help but shiver as he looked at his sister's powerful appearance, memories of the last time he saw that form still fresh in his mind. "But that form is much stronger than her usual Satan Soul, and one that Master Makarov had forbidden her from using because she can destroy an entire city if she wanted to… Satan Soul: Demon Halphas!"

"Demon Halphas, huh?" Vanitas stared at Mirajane's figure in awe as she seemed to dance through the phantoms as she destroyed them. "… So beautiful…"

Elfman seemed to hear this and turned to look at Vanitas with narrow eyes, "What was that?! Don't be getting any ideas now."

"Um, yeah… Hehehe." Vanitas looked away from with a blush and let out an awkward laugh, but he quickly stopped as noticed that the remaining arm of the MKII was moving at an incredibly slow pace. "… That's right, Jose had said that two of them were defeated. But for it to be going this slow, someone must've defeated another one of the Element Four."

"Then that means we only need to defeat one more and then we're in the clear, right?" Elfman questioned as he looked at the magic circle that was nowhere near completion.

Vanitas shook his head a few times before speaking, "No. Even with the Element Four defeated and the giant stopped, we still need to worry about Gajeel and Jose… Natsu and Erza are probably making their way to Jose right now…" The Devil Slayer was quiet for a few seconds before he turned to Elfman, "You go try and find the last member of the Element Four, and then try to find out where Lucy is… I'm going after Gajeel!"

"What?! Are you sure? What about after last time?"

"Don't worry about me, things will be different this time." With that said, Vanitas' body was covered in shadows with green tinting and the Devil Slayer merged with the floor and the shadow sped off down the hallway. Elfman watched the shadows disappear from sight before a look of determination appeared on his face and he started to run in the opposite direction.

(MKII's Right Hip)

"What the hell? Since when did it start raining?" Gray wondered as he felt rain drops fall down on him, which was really strange since the sky had been so clear not even a few minutes ago. "That's really weird… Never mind, it doesn't matter right now… I have to stop the Abyss Break!"

"Drip, drip, drop..." A female voice spoke up through the rain.

Gray turned his head to see a blue haired woman walking towards him holding an umbrella. "A woman? Does that mean… Is your name Juvia?"

"Correct, I am Juvia Lockser. The rain woman of Phantom Lord and a member of the Element Four… drip, drip, drop…"

"So you are a member of the Element Four." Gray said as he turned his body fully to face the approaching woman.

"To think you are able to defeat three of the four elements." Juvia spoked up while raising her free hand in the air, "But even if she is the last, Juvia should not be taken lightly."

"Of course not, but even against a woman or a child I refuse to hold back when they threaten my friends." Gray responded before cracking his knuckles, silently thinking back to what Vanitas had said to them before the group split up. "And despite what Vanitas said, I have a feeling you won't make this easy for me either."

"Vanitas… I see, so he is here in the building as well." Juvia closed her eyes for a seconds as she nodded to herself before focusing her attention on Gray, "I suppose I should be happy then that he wasn't the one to find me instead of you, though I admit that I'm a little disappointed at the same time."

"Heh, I don't know whether that is supposed to be an insult or not." Gray said as he shifted his stance, "But just know that I am not someone you should take likely either."

A chibi Vanitas stood in front of the mission board with iron pillars surrounding him while rain was falling from above.

Vanitas (Arms crossed as he looks up):… This rain reminds me of Juvia… She's probably fighting one of the others right now.

Vanitas (Looks down with a sad expression):I hope she is okay after this. Maybe she can join Fairy Tail after everything is over.

Vanitas (Shaking his head before looking serious):No, this isn't the time to get side tracked. I need to find and defeat Gajeel.

Happy appears next to Vanitas with an umbrella over his head

Happy (Waving his free hand): Vanitas! I'm glad I found you!

Vanitas (Blinks in surprise before tilting head):What are you doing here Happy? Shouldn't you be with Natsu?

Happy (Shaking head several times): He and Erza are off to fight Jose, so he sent me off to rescue Lucy. She's somewhere around here!

Vanitas (Turning his head in other direction): Then she must be with Gajeel! Come with me Happy, we'll find her together.
