Recall: "My sweet, sweet Sango." He kissed her a few times down the valley of her breasts. "I know you are upset of the trouble I've caused you in the past. But, I will make this right. Everything will go back to the way it was, only better. You will be a lady; you're past crimes will be forgiven. Kohaku will have his memories returned, and you can see the girls any time you like." She looked away. For she knew the moment their minds connected that wouldn't be so.
She would not see the girls whenever she pleased. They probably wouldn't even want to talk to her, having agreed to something as this. However, there was still the possibility that Kohaku's memories would return. At least she would be able to see him. It wouldn't matter if she wanted to run away because Miroku would know of her whereabouts.
"I...I..."
"What's there to think about? If you become my wife, I'll give Kohaku back his memories. Simple as that." His words came across so fake to Sango.
"There's more to it than that, I'm sure." He smirked.
"Yes…well, are you willing to take that chance?" She was silent. Wife or not, she really did want Kohaku's memories to return. But, to do this would mean to betray Kagome and Rin. After all, they were nice enough to let her tag along. The last thing she wants to do is hurt them, and this is would be the most painful way possible.
But, maybe they would understand her situation.
Chapter 20: The Error
Walking into his estate, Miroku let out a much needed groan. Taking out his handkerchief, he wiped off the remaining blood off of his hands. After what just conspired with his pet, Miroku felt that he couldn't control himself and went a little over board. His jaw tightened; even if he was unreasonable, there was no excuse for her actions. That ungrateful little… He thought to himself, marching upstairs. After all I've done for her. Allow her to live, spared her brother, and she has the audacity to…
"Darling…" He heard, causing him to roll his eyes. That's to be dealt with later. I must complete my task.
"Koharu, love." Miroku said, stretching his arms out to her. She hurriedly approached, leaving a kiss on his lips.
"How do you fair? You were gone practically all night. I was getting lonely." He cleared his throat, stuffing the bloody cloth back into his pocket.
"I had a bit of trouble at the Tashio's."
"Oh, well…did anything go wrong?" He waved it off, kissing her hand.
"Never mind that." He insisted, walking her down the hall. "I'm here now, to do as you please." Koharu giggled in delight, causing Miroku to force a grin. He was so close to completing his task that he was getting a little bit impatient. All he had to do was put up with nonsense for a little while longer, and then he would deal with that little trouble making pet of his.
"Do you really mean it?" She asked as they entered his room.
"Absolutely, my dear." He assured, allowing her to sit on his gothic styled chaise. "I'm brought you here to serve you of course. And to protect you." He kissed her on her shoulder before making it down to her arm. "And to please you any way you see fit." Koharu huffed, looking away from him with disappointment.
"But, you still have yet to claim me." Miroku held back a curse.
"All in due time." Like hell that'll happen. She smiled, enjoying his soft kisses when she noticed his stained hands. Being that they were red, she concluded that it must have been blood.
"Miroku, darling, there's still blood on your hands." She chuckled, bringing his hand to her lips. "What, was there an incident that happened? Or is it that you've been dining without me?" She asked, licking his hand. Once tasting the blood, she immediately spit it out, standing up to face him. "That's not the blood of a human." She stated angrily. He chuckled a little.
"No, I don't suppose it is."
"What does your 'business' have to do with that vampire bitch?" His hand tightened into a fist which he kept hidden from her eyes.
"You'd do well to hold your tongue."
"No, if I am to be with you, I want all of your attention. I told you before that sharing is not an option. Or did you not take my words serious?"
"Of course I do. Please…" He motioned for her to sit once again. Feeling bothered, Koharu crossed her arms, but did oblige to his wish. Miroku leaned in as if to kiss her when she turned her head.
"I just don't know why you even waste time with that little tramp." He slowly sat down. This was starting to become a nuisance. "Couldn't you just get rid of her? Then there wouldn't be anything to stop you from claiming me." Miroku shrugged.
"Call it a spell that she's casted upon me."
"I'm sure I can break it." He scoffed softly, kissing her neck before coming to the jewel that settled on her breasts."
"My, what a gift you were given, my lady." He stated. Koharu was all too delighted, receiving the praise. Miroku made a motion to touch it, but halted. "…If only I could…" Koharu smiled, taking it from her neck and placing it in his hand.
"I see no harm." He smiled, standing up.
"Such incredible power it holds." He said, walking to a table that held some china. Skeptical of his behavior, Koharu walked over to him to get a better look. She was confused when Miroku pulled a small veil out of his jacket, pouring the contents into a bowl like container. The confusion turned to worry when black acid filled the bowl half way.
"Darling, w-what is the meaning of this?" She asked. He chuckled softly.
"Well you see, there has been some, how can I put this, disturbing gossip going around."
"Oh? Due tell." She said, staring back at the jewel as he played with it.
"Gladly. Some believe you to be a fake."
"Oh absurd!" She exclaimed before laughing nervously. "Really Miroku you wouldn't believe such lies. The jewel came to me, so how would I be a fraud."
"Of course not, my dear. Which is why I'd like to test this hypothesis?" He then tossed the jewel in the bowl, it immediately floating to the top. "Take it?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"If this is indeed the jewel and you are indeed the keeper, you'd be able to purify the jewel. This was but child's play to Midoriko. All you need to do is touch it."
"O-of course." She said, slowly approaching the bowl. She reached over to take the jewel when a little acid manage to make its way onto her hand. She jerked back from the pain.
"Is something wrong?"
"Please excuse me." She whispered before running out the room. This was not good. She had to hurry and find Naraku.
Miroku smirked as he witnessed the fake jewel melt away in the acid. He'd have to worry about Koharu later. One thing was for sure. This was not the jewel and she was not the keeper. The main concern was to find out who was before something unfortunate happens.

A sigh of content escaped Rin's lips as she felt a chilling breeze hit her skin. Being on the balcony was the only moment she had to have a taste of the outside. It gave her a sense of freedom, or at least what she remembered. A smile rested upon her face as her hair flowed with the wind. Soon, life of being a rag doll was going to change since the plan is almost at its final course. Her breathing stopped for a second as her heart increased. Her hand came up to her mouth as she clutched her stomach. For a moment, she could taste blood, and it was revolting. A cough escaped her lips as she tried to get over the feeling. She would never admit this to Kagome, but thoughts of leaving truly made her feel nauseous.
All of this was pretty much déjà vu. Because she was in the situation before, it was obvious what the outcome might be. If they escaped, they only had a little while before they were caught. But, it was different then… She thought to herself. I should have left Japan all together. I just went to a different city. Well, I won't make that mistake again. They would go far, but how far is far enough. There's vampires all over their world; a lot of them mixed with demon blood. It might be easy to track them down. She scoffed. No way would they go that crazy…I think. No, I mean, they have power, and nothing would stop them if they did register a full search. Then this would be for nothing, and then…
Rin inhaled deeply. If anything, she had to calm down. With her heart rate going up, Sesshomaru will definitely sense something wrong with her, and she didn't need that. That would immediately give him a reason not to see Kagome for a little while. It'll be okay. I was free for a good three years before I was found out. Obviously searching for me wasn't a big priority.
"Well…" She started, talking to herself. "I guess I'll head in now." Slowly she walked inside, enjoying the last few moments of peace. She locked the door before turning around to meet golden eyes piercing at her. This caused her to jump in shock. I didn't even hear him come in.
"Oh god. You scared me." He said nothing, which made Rin feel a little uneasy. Usually he would say anything to her, but he seemed upset. "Is something…" Before she could finish, his hand instantly wrapped around her neck. A gasp left her lips; hectically trying to escape him, she managed punch him in the face. Sesshomaru dropped in her shock. Hm… He thought, placing a hand on his chin. So she's still strong. As Rin gasped for air, she tried pushing away from him. He stepped closer, not allowing her to escape. I shall remedy that.
"Running from your punishment?" A look of confusion was upon her. Every rule was followed for the day, and she gave no indication of defiance. So why was she getting punished?
"Punishment?" She managed to cough out. "For what?" His eyes glowed red in anger. Did she seriously take him for a fool?
"Come here, now." He said, pointing to where he wanted her to stand. Disobeying his wishes, Rin stood up, but was in a defensive posture. This made him angrier. "You're only making your situation worse. Come here."
"Tell me what I've done." Sesshomaru glared at Rin, deadly
"You play with my patience." She shook her head no, unable to comprehend what was going on. "Did you really think I wouldn't find out?" Her eyes widened and her heart skipped; never the less, she tried to manage her composer.
"What are you talking about?" She asked. A smirk graced from his lips.
"I knew something was awry from the start. You wanting to see Kagome more…"
"I missed her."
"Silence!" Rin immediately stayed quiet. Sesshomaru pulled something from his pocket and threw it at her feet. "Care to explain what this is." She inhaled before looking down. It was a book…a spell book. That was in Sango's room. She thought, her heart speeding up.
"I don't know." She said, looking into his eyes as if to make it seem like she was honest. However, he didn't seem like he was buying it.
"What was it doing in that little vampire's room?" Rin's looked stern, but inside she was screaming. Sango, you didn't betray us. You wouldn't…"Well?" He asked, waiting impatiently for her answer. She took a deep breath, trying to calm down as much as possible.
"Ask her. I don't know anything about this." There wasn't a doubt in her mind. Telling the truth was not an option.
"You're lying. You're trying to escape, aren't you? The three of you. You were all going to escape together." Sango, I can't believe this. We trusted you. What could possibly be the reason as to why you'd do this to us? Now what was she going to do. Even if she did convince him that it was not so, there was no way she was going to see Kagome to insure that they weren't trying to bolt. We should have never told Sango. We should have just figured it out by ourselves.
"This is stupid. Just because you find something in her room doesn't mean it has anything to do with me."
"Answer me." He said, not liking how she was trying to avoid the question.
"I'd be a fool to leave." Suddenly, he grabbed her by the shoulders, giving her a shake.
"You dare play with me? That wasn't the question. Now, you will tell me what I want to hear."
"And what exactly do you want?"
"The truth, dammit!"
"Is that what you really want?! The truth. Or do you want me to lie? Like I've been doing since I first arrived." The grip on her shoulders tightened as he pulled her closer to his body.
"Lie. Tell me...are you trying to escape from me once again." Rin was quiet for a second, gazing into Sesshomaru's eyes, the silence becoming quite eerie. A sigh escaped from her.
"Yes." Lying was worth a shot. Perhaps he would believe her. One of his hands went up to her face causing her to flinch. He softly caressed her cheek.
"Then why would you rather spend your time with her and not me?" Rin looked at him in disbelief.
"You're jealous." Words were not spoken on his part. "I can't believe you."
"What's not to believe?"
"How many times are we going to fight about this until you're satisfied? She is my blood; the only family I have left."
"I don't care!" Sesshomaru held her tightly. "I've said many times. You should only want to see me. You should only want to be around me. Do not concern yourself about her."
"I can't do that." He laughed sadistically as he pulled her hair, exposing her neck. His lips kissed her skin a few times, his fangs tracing her veins.
"You have no idea how desperately I want to devour you alive." Rin gulped, cringing in fear from the thought of him piercing her.
"T-then why don't you? Kill me and never have to think of me again. It'll be beneficial in many ways. Rid yourself of me and I'll be out of your hair."
"I can't do that." He mocked. "And what of your 'darling' cousin? What would she do if she learns of your predicament?" Rin sighed.
"I'm sure Kagome would understand how I feel."
"And how is it that you feel?"
"What does it matter? Would anything I say change your mind? Change how you feel?" Sesshomaru smirked.
"No. I don't suppose it would." He said, picking her up by the neck and throwing her on the bed. "What also won't change my mind is knowing what a lying little witch I have for a pet." He said, approaching her. Rin was so winded that she could barely make out what was going on. All she could gather were the dark red eyes getting closer. "I want to believe your lies, but…" Grabbing the front of her dress, he ripped it off in one swift motion. "I can sense your defiance. I know that you aren't being truthful with me."
"Sesshomaru…" Her words were halted by his lips crushing against hers. The action cause a groan to slip out, enticing him to go further. His fingers slowly made their way to her breasts, pinching and kneading them. Rin arched her back to him ask if wanting more. Bringing his lips to her nipples, he continued his torture, using his teeth to make the more erect. Rin's eyes widened, the sensation increasing. Pretty soon he stopped, coming back to her lips.
"I know you love how I make you feel." He said before kissing her again. "You may be able to deny certain things, but you can't deny the pleasure I give to you." A tear fell out the corner of her eye as his words dug its way into her mind. He's right. She thought with much hate. No matter what he's done to me, I can help the way he makes me feel. "But, I still have yet to punish you."
"For what?" Rin asked, confused. I thought his mind would be off of it by now.
"You were planning to leave."
"I'm not. I told you that." She tried to sound convincing, but Sesshomaru didn't believe it.
"Yes, but how am I going to be positively sure?"
"What's going on?"
"I'm sorry that it's come to this. But, I'm sure within a few years you'll forgive me."
"W-what are you doing?" She asked feeling his tongue on the side of her neck.
"Something I should have done a long fucking time ago." His eyes glowed red, his fangs growing longer.
"P-Please no."
"You can never leave me again." Her screams pierced through castle.

Kagome shot up from the bed; her hand placed on her heart as she panted heavily. Something's wrong. She thought to herself. A shriek was heard, unsettling her a bit. The disturbance caused Inuyasha to wake up.
"What is it, my sweet?" He asked, kissing her on the lips which she accepted.
"I thought I heard something." Inuyasha's ears perked up.
"Is it possible you can hear your cousin?"
"Rin?" She asked, becoming concerned.
"Yes. It seems that she and Sesshomaru and getting into it. I take it things are not going well." Kagome tried getting up when Inuyasha placed his arms around her.
"Ah. You know the rules."
"She needs me."
"And what do you think showing up will solve? You'll only get her into more trouble. And yourself at that." Kagome sighed, bringing her hands to her face. Inuyasha held onto her, kissing her head.
"It'll be okay. She probably did something wrong."
"But, she couldn't have. We agreed that…" She stopped. She was so caught up in the moment that she almost let out her secret. Inuyasha gave her a questionable look.
"Is there something you wish to tell me?" Kagome was quiet for a moment before shaking her head.
"Nothing." She stated before laying back down. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her, kissing the side of her neck a few times. Kagome snuggled up against him making him smile.
"Just relax and try to go back to sleep." He said, combing her hair with his fingers. "I'm sure everything is fine."
I don't think it is.

Koharu busted through the door of the house that she and her siblings shared. Naraku was having another one of his 'parties.' The place was covered with the stench of sex and blood as she frantically looked for her brother. All over were vampires in sinfully disturbing acts with one another. Some had even brought their human pets to share, either feeding them with blood or for them to participate. One of the pets had the nerve to touch the bottom of her dress.
"Help me…" The human uttered. Koharu kicked him in the face.
"Don't touch me, stupid human!" She shouted while he held his face as if to ease the pain.
"My lady." A female vampire greeted while picking her pet up by his hair.
"Kaguya." Koharu said, looking at her play thing in disgust. "You'd do well keeping your pet on a leash." Kaguya chuckled, gripping the guy's hair tighter.
"Yes, my little Hojo still isn't properly trained." The guy glared at his 'owner', trying so hard to remove her grip from his hair.
"Bite me, vampire bitch." He managed to spit out, earning him a crack to the mouth.
"See what I mean. Absolutely hopeless."
"So it appears. Where's Naraku?"
"Dining room of course. Having a bit of fun with some human bitches." With no time to lose, Koharu made her way to the dining room. Just as Kagura had stated, Naraku indeed was having his fun with some human. The girl was practically ripped to shreds, clinging to what life she had left as Naraku fed from her neck.
"Naraku a word." Koharu interrupted. Naraku growled looking up, shocked to see his sister. "Koharu…what are you doing here? And…" He motioned to the girl. "I'm a little busy here."
"It's an emergency." She simply stated, before practically running to his office. Naraku groaned in annoyance, before pushing the human off, allowing the other males to have their fun. Kikyo and Kagura could sense the fear all over Koharu as they too, followed. Once in the room, they definitely knew something was amiss by the way she was acting.
"Explain yourself, Koharu."
"I've been found out." She confessed. Naraku's eyes grew dark.
"What did you say?" Kikyo asked.
"Miroku knows the truth."
"That's not possible." Kagura chimed. "We made sure that the fake wouldn't be detected even by the most cunning."
"He placed the gem in a bowl of acid. I couldn't purify the damn thing so I ran." She stepped closer to Naraku. "I-I didn't know what else to do, so I came as quickly as possible…"
"What do you mean? How did he even get hold of the jewel?" Kagura demanded. Koharu's lip quivered.
"I-I didn't see the h-harm in…"
"You gave it to him, didn't you?" Naraku said very calmly, alarming his siblings. Koharu immediately dropped to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably.
"P-Please forgive me, dear brother." She begged, clutching onto him.
"Koharu! How could you do something so foolish?!" Kikyo exclaimed. Naraku held his hand up, indicating he wanted the two to be silent.
"Shh, it is okay, Koharu." He cooed softly, picking her up to her feet.
"P-Please…" She begged.
"It's alright, my dear." He held onto her, allowing her to cry on his shoulder. "Of course I forgive you…" Her eyes widened. She looked down to her chest, Naraku's hand inside gripping her heart. "But, you see I… can no longer let you live."
"B-Brother…" Naraku tore her heart from her chest, his claws making sure it was pierced. Koharu screamed, her body slowly turning into ashes as it disappeared before their eyes. The remaining two stood there in shock unable to comprehend what just happened. He suddenly turned his attention to them.
"As you can see, my sisters…" He started, wiping the ashes off his clothes. "I'm no longer in the mood for failure." He then turned to Kikyo, who shivered in fear. "Is the spell ready yet?"
"W-Well…I'm not sure…I-"
"What do you mean, you aren't sure? What have you been doing this whole time?!"
"I'll go see about it right now." She said, rushing to insure she wasn't next.
"And what are you standing around for?" He yelled at Kagura. "Clean this shit up!"
"Right away, dear brother." She said, scurrying along. Naraku walked to the fireplace, kicking what was left of Koharu in annoyance. Visibly irritated, he picked up the poker, placing the end into the fire. The little dunce. He thought, trying to calm himself down. If she were to stay here like I said, we would have had more time.
"No matter." He said out loud, staring at the now heated metal. He walked over to a painting of him and his sisters. "I shall have the real gem in my possession." Taking the poker, he slashed out Koharu's face. "And I'll kill anyone who gets in my way."
"Naraku, I…" She stopped, once seeing the changes he made to the painting. "I-I have everything together. I'm ready to start."
"The results better not disappoint me."
