Aloa! (I'm not even Hawaiian lol) So, chapter 21. Enjoy!
When we reach the fourth floor all the BB Bandits standing there abruptly turn around to look at the new comer, or should I say comers. They walk to us and start battling. None of them win, so they all escape to the previous floor. The only ones left are me, professor Diggins and… Vivian. She's standing in front of the entrance leading to the next floor. The girl takes a few steps towards us.
"Krypter, it's been a while since I saw you!" she says, as though we were friends that had known each other since forever. I don't even think she knows the meaning of the word friend.
I ignore her friendly attitude and take a step forward.
"Let Rosie go or I'll have to do it myself," I answer.
"And how are you going to do that?" she answer in a mocking tone.
"Give me back Rosie!"
"You'll have to go through me first! And this time there's no chance for you to win against me!"
She lunches three medals as she says:
"Pachrino, Penta and Dilopho, I call you!"
Her three vivosaurs appear. Penta is at the attack, Pachrino is in the upper SZ and Dilopho is in the one underneath the white triceratops.
I then throw my medallions on the ground.
"Shoni, S-Raptor and Spinax, I choose you!"
My medals transform themselves into their respective vivosaur. Shoni is in the AZ, S-Raptor's in the support zone on top of Shoni while Spinax is the other SZ.
"Prepare to lose!" warns Vivian before the battles begins.
She's the one making the first move.
"Penta, use Penta Combo on Shoni!" shouts Vivian.
The vivosaur runs towards Shoni and collides into him. The second time he hits him with his head. Shoni stumbles under the impact. He lost a quarter of his health.
"Shoni, Torpedo Attack on Penta!" I order.
My aquatic vivosaur charges at Penta and starts to spin around him, his pace accelerating each second that passes. The current forms huge waves that go crash into my opponent's vivosaur. He has around half of his lives remaining.
"Pachrino go to Penta's position, and then attack Spinax with Pachrino Combo!"
Pachrino advances to the attack zone while Penta retreats in the EZ. He then lunges himself at Spinax. But my vivosaur jumps out on the side just in time to avoid him. Pachrino's momentum makes him run into the wall. He loses a bit of his health because of that.
"S-Raptor, exchange your position with Shoni's, and after that use your combo on Pachrino!" I instruct, yelling.
They obey and switch positions. Then S-Raptor rushes toward Pachrino and fiercely bites his back, then kicks him hard in the jaw. Pachrino growls at S-Raptor after the assault. He too lost half of his vitality.
"Pachrino injure Spinax with Pachrino Combo!"
Pachrino runs at Spinax and collides into him head first. He then hits him a second time with his horns. Spinax roars in pain and glares at Pachrino. He had an advantage, so Spinax lost a third of his health.
"S-Raptor, finish Pachrino!" I order.
My red vivosaur obeys. Pachrino falls to the ground and disappears. Dilopho becomes the offensive vivosaur. When Vivian's turn arrives Penta moves up to the upper SZ.
"Dilopho, Dilopho Fury on S-Raptor!"
He has an advantage; my vivosaur loses more than half of his lives.
Shoni comes back in the battle when her turn's over. His support effects penalizing S-Raptor, I decide to put him at the attack and S-Raptor in the escape zone.
"Now, Spinax, use your combo on Dilopho!"
My vivosaur jumps on Dilopho and bites his back. He then kicks his head before hopping back on the ground. Dilopho lost more than half of his vitality.
"Dilopho and Penta switch positions, after that Penta attack Shoni with Penta Combo!"
The vivosaurs listen to her. Penta then charges at Shoni and hits him in the head, while his second assault is with his horns, which connect with Shoni's ribs. My vivosaur has around a third of his lives left.
"Shoni, Torpedo Attack on Pentra!"
Shoni swims in Penta's direction and starts swirling around him. Then, during the vivosaur's weak moment, he lunges at him and hits his head. Penta now only has a small amount of his health remaining.
"Penta, extinguish Shoni with Penta Fury!" shouts Vivian.
He strikes my vivosaur three times, not missing once. He perishes on the third assault. Shoni disappears and transforms back into a medal.
Spinax moves forward to the AZ.
"Spinax use Spinax fang on Penta!"
My vivosaur obeys and manages to kill Penta, who returns to his initial form. Dilopho is now the offensive vivosaur.
"Dilopho, Dilopho Fury on Spinax!"
But he has a disadvantage, so he only takes a third of Spinax's vitality.
"Spinax Combo on Dilopho! Finish this battle!"
Spinax jumps on the Water vivosaur and bites him on the back, before kicking his head with all his might. Dilopho collapses then vanishes in a flash of light. My vivosaurs roar in victory. I won!
"A-again…" she splutters. "YOU won against me, AGAIN?! How could I have misjudged your strength so badly… Whatever, if you want to get your Rosie back you'll have to beat our boss, and he's an expert! Have a nice trip to death kid!"
She then runs away to the exit behind us. I check my watch… My eyes widen with surprise. It's almost three o'clock in the morning!
I turn around to face Doctor Diggins.
"Do you think Rosie's ok?"
"Of course, don't worry," he answers me, putting a hand on my shoulder, squeezing it. "Let's keep going and find her."
I walk to the opening in front of me. This corridor is different, and there aren't any stairs this time. It's really dark, so I can't see a thing. I put my hand on the wall standing to my right and let it slide on it as I keep moving forward. The only thing indicating me that this isn't some kind of black hole is the floor under my feet and my hand slithering across the wall. My irregular breathing echoes through the empty hallway, but I don't pay attention to it and keep going. I feel like I've walked miles before I finally reach a door (which I almost bumped into because of the darkness). A second later my hand is flying across its surface, searching for the handle. When I finally find it I wrap my fingers around the knob and carefully turn it. It's unlocked. The door facing me slowly opens, creaking. I push it open and enter the next room. As I step into it the door abruptly closes shut behind me, the sound making me jump. I turn around and try opening it; but it's locked this time. Great. I don't even know how that's possible. I take a deep breath and turn around to examine the room. At first all I see is darkness, nothing different from the corridor. But a few seconds later the room is filled with light; someone probably decided to finally turn the lights on. The chamber leaves me speechless; it is not all similar to what I saw so far in this building.
The floor is made of gold, I think. There are dinosaur's bones at certain spots, which are so clean it looks like they're shining. The room is quite big in my opinion and a huge carpet where it's written BB is resting in the middle of the floor. Wanna know what's on that rug? A random chair, a table with an empty glass cup resting on it and… some stranger dressed in black with a hood covering his face.
I bravely walk toward him.
"Who are you and what did you do to Rosie?!" I furiously ask the disguised man.
"Oh, you mean her?" answers the stranger in a deep hollow voice.
He takes a step to the side, revealing behind him a tied up Rosie with a piece of tape stuck to her mouth preventing her to speak. She tries to tell me something, but the piece of tape makes it hard to understand. I look down at her arms; ok thank God, they're not all scratched up and covered in blood like in my dream. I don't see any other injuries either.
I then notice the gun and key behind her, locked up under a glass box, which's probably impossible to be lift up by a kid.
As soon as I take a step toward Rosie the man moves back in front of her, blocking me the access.
"Who are you and why did you kidnap Rosie? And it's also you that broke into my apartment to steal the key and the gun!"
"Yes, you are right, I'm the one who did all that," he answers. I can almost see him smirk under his stupid hood. "I have special tools enabling me to go wherever I want. This key has a lot more value and utility that you think, especially to me. And the gun… well, I bet you don't even know what's it's for yourself. But I do, and I need it to accomplish my plan. Now, I am going to answer the first question you asked…"
He puts his hand up to his hood and yanks it backwards, unveiling his features. It's a man in his thirties; his short hair is brown and a mustache the same color covers the space between his mouth and nose. His eyes are... a deep purple shade. And they are filled with mischievousness.
"Those eyes…" I say as I narrow me eyes. "Oh my God, you're the old lady from the park that I saw the second day! And also the woman from Rivet Ravine, who was in the closed sector of the site! I saw those eyes so many other times, watching and stalking me. Wait; were you the guy from the park? With the photos?"
"Yes, I see that you recognized me! I am the man that always dressed up and followed you everywhere! I also have a partner that sometimes did the job for me, but that didn't happen very often. Unfortunately, he is not here right now; he had other… commitments.
The guy with the icy blue eyes… I think to myself with a shiver.
"And above all, I am the boss of the BB Bandits! I was the one giving orders to Vivian and her two companions. And I'm the one that captured your precious Rosie. My name is Bartholomew Bullwort, leader of the bandits!"
"You were the one behind all this?"
"Yup!" he replies, grinning from ear to ear. "I am pretty proud of my evil plots. When I'm not on Vivosaur Island spying on you I stay here!"
"You… Psycho! Is it also you that wrote that book filled with lies about Vivosaur Island?"
"Uh, I have no idea what you're talking about," he answers, scratching the back of his head.
I'm tempted to believe him for a second, but then I remember all the other lies he told.
"Stop lying! I know it's you."
"No, it's not me," he says, exasperated.
"Oh, really? Then do you know who M. Kleivy is? Does that name ring a bell to you?" I say, pointing a finger at him.
"Hum… Is he some famous comedian? Or an actor?"
"No, he's the new owner of Vivosaur Island! Rosie's grandfather is in prison!" I suddenly realize that I'm yelling, but I don't care. "After all she's been through you decide to kidnap her and lock her up in here. That's just sick."
I take a deep breath and try to calm myself; but I'm pretty sure I failed miserably.
I then notice something changing in Bullwort's gaze. Suddenly, like if he was realizing something, a hint of comprehension crosses his evil stare before disappearing. Did I imagine that glimpse?
"No kid, I'm telling you the truth, I really don't know who this M. Kleivy is," he continues, like if nothing had happened two seconds ago. "Anyways, nothing was going to change my plan! I planned to capture Rosie since the first day I saw you two together!"
"Why…?" I ask, curious and scared at the same time.
"Doesn't matter," he replies, waving a hand through the air as he ignores my question. "I am going to crush you and send all your remaining bones back to where you come from, because there are secrets you should never know…"
He then gets three medals out of his pocket and throws them in the air.
"Amargo, Brachio and Tarbo, I choose you!"
The medallions transform into vivosaurs. Brachio is at the attack, Tarbo is in the upper support zone while Amargo is in the other SZ.
"Shoni, Venator and Spinax, I call you!"
My three vivosaurs appear. Shoni is at the AZ position. Spinax is in the SZ on top of Shoni while Venator is in the support zone below.
"May the battle begin…" Bullwort says, a smirk on his face.
I need to win, for Rosie…
So, are you guys happy to finally know who the purple-eyed guy is?! FYI, it's not the police chief, but some stranger that Krypter never saw before. Well, he did see him more than once without knowing. So it's not like in the game. The next chapters will be filled with action. Don't forget the reviews and stuff, it makes me write faster and motivate me to keep going.
