The Purple Dragons and the three mutated Shredder clones where proving to be a greater challenge than Yoshi had originally thought they would be. He was proud of how well his sons handled the challenge. Donatello took out the smallest of the clones, but broke some pipes in the process and the floor was starting to flood.
Mikey held his own against the tall one with a clubbed hand, dodging out of the way and avoiding the spiked appendage. Leo and Raph came charging down the stairs, "Father. Master Nagi is facing Shredder now."
The four armed clone fell to his death as a result of Karai running it through. The splash of the fallen body sent ripples through the pooling water. Yoshi looked over at Mikey in time to see him dodge a blow that shattered a support column, it was the third one.
"If this keeps up the structure won't hold," Yoshi yelled.
Donatello helped Mikey finish off the final clone before rushing to Raph and Leo.
The water was raising and getting close to some electrical equipment. "We need to get out of the water, now," Yoshi yelled. "Back through the tunnel."
"Father," Leo tried to protest, but Yoshi cut him off.
"Go, now," he ushered them back the way they came.
"What about Master Nagi?" Mikey asked as they ran.
"Karai and I will go to assist him," Yoshi answered. "The four of you need to go, you are injured. We will meet with you back in the sewers."
Leo and Donnie supported Raph while Mikey limped behind them. They stepped up out of the water before the levels reached the electrical equipment. Sparks shot into the air and the lights flickered. Then to make things worse, a fire started. There must have been something that got mixed it with the water, because it too caught fire.
The sounds of bricks falling could be heard over the sounds of men trying to escape.
The four Turtles where thrown to the floor when the fire reached a crate of illegal weapons, causing an explosion. The building shook as a second explosion erupted.
They staggered to their feet and ran as fast as their injuries would let them. "I'm slowing you down," Raph choked out. "Leave me."
"Shut up," Leo hissed. "We're getting you home."
They found another truck and Leo drove it back through the tunnel. They retraced their steps and made it back into the sewers. Donnie urged them on to get them out from under the building. Once they reached a safe distance, they waited.
More explosions sounded from the tunnel in front of them and it soon collapsed. Not knowing what else to do they made their way back to Foot Headquarters.
Mikey sobbed as they walked, occasionally looking back over his shoulder. "Do you think they're okay?"
"I don't know, Mikey," Donnie answered.
They reached the manhole that led up to the lower level garage of the compound. It took a great deal of effort, but they managed to pull themselves up.
Shen was there in a heartbeat followed by Billy and Aaron. The Turtles were rushed upstairs and into the medical ward.
…
Yoshi ran upstairs to find Nagi in a heated fight with Saki. He was shocked at how hideous Saki was, he no longer looked human. The brothers fought and each showed signs of injury, but neither was slowing down.
Karai stood at Yoshi's side and watched the fight, both ready to jump in at a moment's notice. The lights flickered, but the fighters were unfazed by it.
The battle raged as several explosions shook the foundations of the building. Worry spread though Yoshi, "Leave, Karai."
"Master?" she breathed.
"There is nothing you can do now," he looked at her. "Go. Get out of the building while there is still time." He pushed her then turned back to watch the fight.
Karai bowed, "Yes Master." She turned to leave but paused when Yoshi spoke.
"If we do not make it back," he said without turning. "You are to run the Foot, and make sure that the Tokyo branch knows what had happened."
"As you wish, Master," Karai bowed again and fled down the hall.
Yoshi watched as his friend and mentor fought the man who had terrorized them for years. He had to hold the wall as the building shook, but the brothers continued fighting.
Smoke made its way up stairs and flooded the hall and Yoshi choked, but the brothers didn't seem to notice.
They charged each other and blood covered both their weapons. Yoshi was sure that they were all going to die there. The building threatened to crumble around them, and that was if the smoke didn't get to them first.
The brothers moved fast and the smoke made it hard for Yoshi to see. They disappeared from his view. He heard grunting and the thud of a body hitting the ground. Yoshi waited for a moment before he rushed forward, katana in hand to see what he could find.
He found Nagi first. He was on the floor, breathing shallow. There was a dagger sticking in his thigh. Searching, Yoshi found the body of Saki, his head a few feet away. Satisfied that Saki was done for, Yoshi rushed back to Nagi's side. He lifted his friend in a firemen's carry and headed out of the building.
….
Sean stood, looking at the building as the fire claimed it. He had no idea how the fire had started, and he was amazed to see Purple Dragons rushing out of it. The police rounded them up as they filtered from the burning building. He had a sinking feeling that the Foot had something to do with the fire.
Out of the corner of his eye, Sean saw someone staying to the shadows. He rushed over, fearing the worst. He found Yoshi hastily tending to Nagi's wounds.
"What the hell," Sean exclaimed, rushing up to them.
Yoshi tied a tourniquet around Nagi's thigh to slow the bleeding, "It would be best if we were not linked to this in any way."
Sean looked over his shoulder. Everyone looked to be busy with the chaos. He turned back to Yoshi, "I'll get my car."
…..
Raph was in the infirmary resting. His uncles had patched him up and given him something for the pain. He was in a daze as they brought Nagi in. The room erupted in chaos as they worked on the ninja master.
Billy had blood on his hands as he pulled a curtain to block Raph's view, but nothing stopped the sound.
His uncles cursed and shouted orders to their assistance. There was a loud crash after someone slipped. Raph heard the sound of a defibrillator charging and his uncle shout, "Clear," before hearing the thud of the charge shooting threw Nagi's body. "Again," Aaron shouted.
"Come on," Raph breathed.
He heard the defibrillator sound three more times before Billy called it. "I'll tell the others," he mumbled. "You stay and get him cleaned up."
"No," Raph choked out. "You can't give up."
Billy slipped past the curtain and looked down at Raph, "It wasn't his injuries." He sat down and grabbed hold of Raph's hand, "Saki used a poison laced weapon against Nagi. There was nothing we could do."
"Leo?" Raph whimpered.
A soft smile spread across Billy's face, "Apparently Saki didn't use that particular weapon against Leo, only Nagi."
Tears streamed down Raph's face, "This is my fault."
Billy shushed him, "It was nothing that you did. You didn't put the poison on the blade."
"They followed me," Raph tried to argue. "I was impatient and went looking for a fight."
"Nagi was going to face Saki anyway. The outcome would have been the same."
"Parker," Raph cried.
Billy stood, "I'm going to tell him now." He leaned in and kissed Raph on the head, "I'll be back soon and I know your parents will want to see you. Try to get some sleep."
"I don't think I can," Raph cried.
Billy picked up a syringe and injected a sedative into Raph's I.V., "This will help."
Billy left the infirmary, and the low murmur of his voice could be heard drifting through the closed door. The mournful cries of Parker were soon to follow.
Raph heard the door burst open and the frantic cries of Parker, as the sedatives took effect.
…
It was impossible to cover up what was in the burnt down building. Among the bodies recovered, there were the charred corpses of a mutant rhino and boar, the bodies of the mutant clones, and Saki. All were taken to be studied.
The news covered the strange findings for weeks. Wild theories and accusations were made by the media and the people of New York. Soon the government was involved and took the case out of the local official's hands.
The loss of Nagi hit the Foot Clan hard, but Yoshi kept the business running. He was approved to be the head of the New York division and Karai was accepted as his second. Nagi was buried in the Jones family plot, not too far from the farm. Luke did the sermons and the whole Jones family turned out for the funeral.
Parker slipped in to a state of depression and guilt tied Raph's stomach up in knots. He sought Parker out and found him in the room that he had shared with Nagi, laying on the tatami with one of Nagi's kimonos bundled up in his arms.
Raph lied down behind Parker and nuzzled his neck, "I'm so sorry."
"I don't blame you," Parker whispered.
"I still feel guilt," Raph admitted.
They laid in silence for a while. "I told him about us," Parker said out of nowhere. "He was okay with it. I'm glad I told him. There were no secrets between us and I have no regrets."
"He never even let on that he knew," Raph whispered shaking his head. "He never treated me any different."
Parker turned to look at him, "I told you, he was okay with it."
"Mikey knows too," Raph sighed.
"Yeah I know," Parker smiled softly. "He's an open book."
Raph laughed lightly and kissed Parker's forehead, "Are you gonna be okay?"
"I miss him so much is hurts," Parker cried. "But at least everyone is safe."
Raph didn't know what else to say, so he just held Parker and let him cry.
…
"Is it over?" Donnie asked, opening his eyes. He asked that question nearly every morning for the past month.
"Shredder's gone and the Purple Dragons have been dispersed," Leo answered the same as he did every morning.
"My family has returned to New York," Raph added, nuzzling Donnie. "They have been able to repair a great deal of the damage caused by the Dragons and your father is running the Foot clan with honor."
Donnie and Mikey were in the middle this time, with Raph spooning Donnie and Leo spooning Mikey. They rotated who was in the middle each night, making sure they spent equal time with each other. Even though the Jones family was back in New York, it was decided that it would be best for the Turtles to me moved out to the farm for some recovery time. The open fields and the ability to just lie out and bask helped to ease their tension.
Carla and Shen stayed out there with them, but stayed in the main house while the Turtles stayed in the guest house. They had placed a tatami in the guest house so the four of them could sleep together without the threat of falling off the bed. Doctor Gibbs was also with them at the farm and was available to them whenever they needed to talk. He has explained to the Jones family, and they accepted, the Turtles' relationship and gave them as much support as possible.
Donnie's mental state was touch and go for a while, but they managed to keep him from withdrawing into his mind. To keep busy, Donnie was working on a new body for Honeycutt. He spent a lot of time configuring the robotic body so that Honeycutt would have fluid motion and so the mind would have the capacity to hold him. One or more of the Turtles would sit with him so that he wouldn't be alone. Leo would meditate, Mikey would read comics, and Raph would work out.
Donnie shifted in Raph arms so that they were facing each other. They kissed lightly, finding comfort in the act. The four of them had pulled closer to each other, but not to the point of group sex. It was a thin line that they had come close to crossing a few times.
They had recovered a great deal in their months at the farm. Their wounds healed and their nightmares faded to an occasional bad dream. They continued with their training, finding comfort in the familiar routine.
Leo reached over the two middle Turtles to caress Raph arm while he nuzzled Mikey. "Raph?" Mikey hummed.
"Yeah?"
"Can we go look at the stars tonight?"
Raph propped himself up to look over Donnie and down at Mikey, "Sure. We can spend the whole day outside if you like."
"I wanna swim in the river," Donnie stretched.
"A lazy day outside does sound nice," Leo added.
"A lazy day filled with sex," Mikey giggled and hid his face in embarrassment.
"If you insist," Raph playfully sighed, tweaking Mikey's tail. Mikey pulled himself up and they both leaned over Donnie to kiss.
Donnie looked up at them and his hand came up to rest on Raph's butt, "Can we start the sex part now?"
Chuckling, Raph broke the kiss with Mikey and looked at Don, "Sure."
Donnie got up off the tatami and rushed to the TV and turned it on, "I'll just set this up."
Mikey watched him, "He's addicted to porn," he said flatly.
"It helps him," Leo chuckled, getting of the mattress. He walked over to Donnie, who was leaning over the back of the sofa fiddling with the controllers. Leo waited for Donnie to get the movie started before he grabbed hold of the genius Turtle's tail. Donnie turned to look at him and Leo smiled, "Just watch your movie."
Donnie smiled and rested on the back of the sofa, lifting his tail so Leo could have better access. Raph watched them for a moment before guiding Mikey back onto his carapace. He pressed their beaks together in a deep kiss, their tongues rolling around one another.
Raph smiled into the kiss when he heard Leo and Don's churrs. He held himself up to look down at Mikey, "You know, despite all the bad that has happened in the past two years, I'm happy that you fell on me."
"Me too," Mikey giggled. "I love you so much." He reached up and traced the scar down Raph's face.
Raph turned his head and kissed Mikey's fingers as they slid down his cheek, "Having you in my life is worth every scar." He attacked Mikey's neck causing the smaller Turtle to giggle with the occasional churr mixed it. Being together made it all worth it and made Raph feel that life was worth living.
