MuggleCreator: Thank you so much.

lilyflower101: Thanks!

alex 988: Well, here's the update you wanted.

The Archsage: First of all, I want to thank you for staying with my story despite not being very fond of slash. In answer to your question, there will be more hints of Harry/Alexis in the Christmas chapter (which is when we will also get to see some of Alexis's POV) and then I will try to balance the hints of spiritshipping and Harry/Alexis in the following chapters. It might not be until third year that you'll see actual duels (in this chapter, it's basically just introducing the club and all that but in year three, I will include a few). I hope that you enjoy this chapter. Thanks for your review.

StrawHatLuffy94: Lol, so true. It'll come, eventually. I'm considering a Water deck for her but a Spellbook theme does seem interesting and the complexity would suit her (it's just the more complex the deck is, the harder it is to write duels using that deck). And don't worry, I am planning on throwing in the Lightrays, since I love those monsters too. Thank you for your review.

Angel-of-Anime Mizumi: Oh tempted, I am so, so, SO tempted on letting Haou kill him but, alas, it will likely only happen in the author's notes. Besides, in all honesty, I feel what happened to Lockhart in canon is a fate worse than death. Thank you and yay, cinnamon rolls! (Takes cinnamon rolls and hands them out to all characters whom are not hated). Thanks for your review.

shyannada141: Lol, Bakura does kill him in the author's notes (quite a bit) and yes, Lockhart and Umbridge are like the two characters I hate the most (Umbridge slightly more than Lockhart). Thank you for your review and I'm glad you liked it.

Well, here is the chapter in which the club is introduced and I hope that I did a good job on it. Actually dueling (as in full-length duels) won't occur until year three. In this year, there will be snippets of duels but no full-length ones until year three. You will see what I have planned for that when we get to the Christmas chapter. I hope that you guys enjoy this chapter and reviews, as always, are much appreciated.

Chapter 19

The New Club

Hogwarts

A few days went by and Harry spent it dodging out of sight whenever he saw Lockhart coming down the corridor. He was also trying to avoid Colin who seemed to have memorized Harry's schedule. Nothing seemed to give Colin a bigger thrill than to say, "All right, Harry" six or seven times a day and hear, "Hello, Colin," back, no matter how exasperated Harry sounded when he said it. It amused Jaden to no end.

The weekend of the first week came. Harry, Jaden, Hermione, Ron, Jesse, Alexis and Atticus were planning on visiting Hagrid Saturday morning but Harry was shocked when he was suddenly woken up at the crack of dawn by Oliver Wood, the Captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Tema. He was a tall and burly sixth year and, at the moment, his eyes were gleaming with crazed enthusiasm.

"What's the matter?" Harry mumbled groggily, lifting his head off his pillow.

"Quidditch practice," Wood said. "Come on."

Harry turned to look through the window. There was a thin mist hanging across the pink-and-gold sky. "Oliver," he croaked. "It's the crack of dawn."

"Exactly," said Wood. "It's part of our new training program. Come on, grab your broom, and let's go. None of the other teams have started training yet; we're going to be the first off the mark this year."

Yawning and shivering, Harry climbed out of bed and tried to find his Quidditch robes while Jaden lifted his head off his bed. "What's going on, Harry?" he mumbled.

"Quidditch practice, go back to sleep, Jay," Harry said, finally finding his Quidditch Robes while Wood straightened.

"Meet you on the field in fifteen minutes," he said and left the common room.

"And let Ron and Jesse know where I went," Harry added to the sleepy Jaden.

"Mm, okay," Jaden mumbled and rested his head on his pillow, slipping off to sleep again.

Harry, after quickly changing, followed Wood out of the dorm, though, on the stairs, Colin joined him, chattering excitedly and asking Harry to sign one of the photos that he had taken, which was of Lockhart and him attempting to avoid having his picture taking with the blonde professor. Harry told him he wouldn't and then spent the entire trip to the Quidditch pitch explaining the game of Quidditch to Colin.

When they reached the changing rooms, Colin said, "I'll go and get a good seat, Harry," and hurried off to the stands.

The rest of the Gryffindor team were already in the changing room, though all of them, with the exception of Wood, looked half-asleep. Fred and George were sitting next to Alicia Spinnet whom appeared to be dozing against the wall behind her. Katie Bell and Angelina Johnson, the other Chasers besides her, were yawning side by side.

"There you are, Harry, what kept you?" Wood asked briskly and, not even giving him a chance to respond, he added, "Now, I wanted a quick talk with you al before we actually get onto the field, because I spent the summer devising a whole new training program, which I really think will make all the difference."

He was holding up a large diagram of the Quidditch field, on which were drawn many lines, arrows and crosses in different colored inks. He took out his wand, tapped the board and the arrows began to wiggle and move. As he launched into a speech about his new tactics, Fred's head dropped right onto Alicia's shoulder and he began to snore.

Harry rested his head against the wall he was sitting beside, his eyes half-closed as he attempted to pay attention to Wood; it wasn't going so well as the Captain continued to drone on and on.

"So," Wood said, at least, jerking Harry from his daydream—he really wished he didn't have to skip breakfast to attend this meeting—as well as startling everyone else awake. "Is that clear? Any questions?"

"I've got a question, Oliver," George said sleeily. "Why couldn't you have told us all this yesterday when we were awake?"

Wood didn't look happy but Harry tuned out what he said next.

The sun was already up by the time the team left the changing room. Harry gazed around and spotted Ron, Hermione, Jaden, Jesse, Alexis and Atticus sitting in the stands, all of them were eating toast and marmalade, much to Harry's irritation. And I'm hungry too, he thought.

"Aren't you finished yet?" Ron called incredulously.

"Haven't even started," Harry called back. "Wood's been teaching us new moves."

He mounted his broom and kicked off the ground and soared after the rest of the team, smiling as he felt the morning air brush against his face.

He heard a few clicking noises and Fred, as they hurtled around a corner, called, "What's that funny clicking noise?"

Harry resisted the urge to look at Colin who was shouting, "Look this way, Harry! This way!"

"Who's that?" Fred asked.

"No idea," Harry lied quickly and flew away from Colin.

Jaden, who was seated in the stands, glanced toward Colin who was still happily taking pictures and shouting at Harry to look at him and he sighed. "I kinda feel sorry for Harry," he said.

"Yeah, oh look, looks like trouble's coming," Jesse said pointing to the field and the gang turned.

"What are they doing here?" Ron exclaimed as the Slytherin Quidditch team walked onto the pitch.

"Flint!" Wood shouted as he, Harry, Fred and George landed on the ground. "This is our practice time. We got up specially. You can clear off now."

Marcus Flint sneered as he said, "Plenty of room for all of us, Wood."

Angelina, Alicia and Katie came over as well.

"This doesn't look like it's gonna end well," Jaden said with a shake of his head.

"It's Slytherins. That's a given," Ron said sourly.

"But I booked the field. I booked it!" Wood exclaimed.

"Ah, but I've got a specially signed note here from Professor Snape. 'I, Professor S. Snape, give the Slytherin team permission to practice today on the Quidditch field owing to the need to train their new Seeker'."

"You've got a new Seeker? Where?"

Draco Malfoy strode forward with a smirk on his face.

Hermione, Ron, Jaden, Jesse and Alexis left the stands at that and headed toward the field, wanting to know what was going on since they couldn't exactly hear that well from the stands. Jaden only heard what he had because of the powers he received from Yubel.

"What's happening?" Ron asked once they joined the team. "Why aren't you playing? And what's he doing here?"

"I'm the new Slytherin Seeker, Weasley," Malfoy said smugly. "Everyone's just been admiring the brooms my father's bought the team."

Ron gaped.

"Good, aren't they? But perhaps the Gryffindor team will be able to raise some gold and get new brooms, too. You could raffle off those Cleansweep Fives; I expect a museum would bid for them."

The Slytherin team laughed.

"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had to buy their way in," Hermione said sharply.

"Yeah, they got in on pure talent, y'know," Alexis added.

"No one asked your opinions, you filthy little Mudbloods!" Malfoy spat.

Flint had to dive in front of Malfoy when Fred, George and a furious Jaden looked about ready to attack him.

"How dare you?!" Alicia and Harry shouted, glaring furiously at Malfoy.

"You'll pay for that, Malfoy," Ron shouted, pulling out his wand.

"Expellarimus!" One of the Slytherin team members shouted and Ron's wand was sent flying out of his hand.

Harry ground his teeth together. "C'mon, you guys, let's go. They aren't worth getting into trouble," he said.

Jesse grabbed Jaden's arm. "Calm down, Jay," he said gently. "Harry's right. They aren't worth getting into trouble. I'm sure ya don't want a detention this early in the school year."

Jaden glared at Malfoy again before relaxing against Jesse, feeling the slightly taller boy's arm encircle his shoulders. "Yeah, you're right," he murmured.

"Since they have the pitch, we may as well go see Hagrid now," Harry said, glancing at Wood who still looked furious but he waved his hand toward the team.

"Since these slimy snakes took the pitch that I booked, we'll reschedule practice for later," he growled and stalked off.

The gang, four were furious while two were just confused, headed toward Hagrid's Hut after that.

Jaden ducked behind Jesse the instant Harry knocked on Hagrid's door, much to Jesse's amusement. "Jay, Fang isn't gonna hurt you," he pointed out.

"I still don't wanna get knocked down by him," Jaden protested as the door opened and Hagrid, with a grin, invited them into the room, though the grin faded when he noticed the furious looks on Harry's and Ron's face.

"Are ya okay, 'Arry?" Hagrid asked.

Harry scowled. "Malfoy called Hermione and Alexis 'Mudbloods'," he said.

"He didn'!" Hagrid growled, looking outraged.

"He did," Hermione said as they walked into the hut and each took seats. Almost as soon as Jaden sat down, Fang rested his head on Jaden's lap.

"Why does this dog like me so much?" Jaden complained, though he did start scratching the dog's ears as Jesse sat down beside him, chuckling.

"But what does that mean anyway?" Alexis asked with a frown. "Everyone got so mad when it was said."

"It was obviously very rude," Hermione added.

"It's an insult," Harry said. "Mudblood is an insulting name used for someone who is Muggleborn, someone with parents who aren't magical."

Ron nodded. "Yeah, there are some wizards, like Malfoy's family, who think they're better than everyone else because they're what people call pure-blood."

"I'm thankful Dad isn't like that," Jaden said.

"Yeah, me too," Jesse agreed, referring to his own father.

"Yeah, the rest of us know it doesn't make a difference at all," Ron added. "But, either way, it's a disgusting thing to call someone. Dirty blood, see. Common blood. It's ridiculous. Most wizards these days are half-blood anyway. If we hadn't married Muggles, we'd've died out."

Harry nodded in agreement.

They spent the rest of their time at Hagrid's Hut looking at the overgrown pumpkins Hagrid had grown for the Halloween feast that was coming up. Before long, it was time for lunch and Harry, determined to get something to eat since he hadn't been able to eat breakfast, all but ran to the Great Hall with his friends just behind him.

Harry, Jaden, Jesse, Ron and Alexis were heading back toward their dorm. They had spent the majority of the day either outside or in the library, Hermione had dragged them there to get started on their homework for the week and was still there, and were now heading back to the Gryffindor Common Room. They were also discussing the club that was going to start up on Monday.

"I wonder how it's gonna go," Harry said thoughtfully. "And how many people will actually show up."

"Well, already the four of us are going," Jaden pointed out.

"Five, since I'm going too," Ron said.

"Okay, five."

"Some might just come because they're curious about the mention of ancient magic that Dumbledore made," Jesse said.

Jaden wondered what kind of ancient magic they would talk about in the club. He knew that, aside from his own powers, there were other kinds of magic out there. He didn't know what they were but he knew that they existed.

They turned down a corridor when Harry heard it. A voice, ice-cold, venomous, that sent chills run down Harry's spine.

"Come, come to me. Let me rip you. Let me tear you. Let me kill you."

Harry frowned. "Did you guys here that?" he asked.

The others stopped talking and glanced at him.

"We didn't hear anything, Harry," Alexis said.

"Are you sure? I'm sure I heard something," Harry said.

"Are you hearing things, Harry?" Jaden asked concerned.

"Why was I the only one who could hear it?" He was now talking to himself as he thought about what the voice had said. There was something odd about the way those words were said but, for some reason, he couldn't begin to figure out what it was.

"That's really weird," Ron said with a frown.

"I don't get this. I don't get why no one else could hear that. Maybe I'm just hearing things," Harry said. "I am rather tired."

Jaden glanced toward Yubel who had materialized at his side. Did you hear or sense anything, Yubel? He thought.

Yubel shook her head. 'Whatever Harry heard, only he could hear it. Why? I do not know,' she said.

Jaden frowned but decided that, unless it happened again, he wouldn't worry about it.

Monday of the second week came and Harry's mood had greatly approved during the rest of the weekend. He was able to avoid Lockhart and Colin and he hadn't heard that voice again, which made him think that it was just a one-time occurrence brought on by exhaustion. He was also excited about today.

Today was the first meeting of the new Duel Monsters Club.

Harry had chanced a glance at the sign-up list and was surprised to see that a few people, besides him, Ron, Jesse, Alexis, Atticus and Jaden, had signed up for it. He wondered if anyone from the other houses had signed up, though he doubted that any of the Slytherins had signed up. They just didn't seem like the type to play a mundane card game, even if its roots were magical.

"Oh man, I am so excited about this Duel Monsters Club," Jaden exclaimed as he plopped down in his seat at the Gryffindor Table. It was lunchtime and they only had a few more classes left for the day.

Jesse nodded in agreement as he sat down beside Jaden. "I wonder what we're gonna do," he said.

"Who knows?"

"It's going to be interesting, I bet," Atticus said.

"Or it could just be an introduction," Alexis commented.

"True."

"I hope we get to duel," Jaden said excitedly.

Harry rolled his eyes fondly at his brother as he ate. "I'm sure we will, though I doubt it'll be right away. It is our first meeting," he said.

"I don't see what the point of this game is," Hermione said, putting down the Lockhart book she was reading. "But I'm curious about its roots, which is why I'm going to go, at least, to the first meeting."

Ron looked stunned at that but Harry wasn't that surprised. Hermione did like to learn, like him, and she probably thought it would be interesting to learn about other kinds of magic that existed in the world, even if it was centuries if not millennia earlier.

"Well, we've got History of Magic and Charms to get through first," he said. He wondered; if Binns had not been the History of Magic teacher, would they have learned about ancient magic?

Harry shook the thought away as he finished eating. "We should get going to class," he said.

The rest nodded and headed toward their next class.

. . .

Late that afternoon, after all the classes were over, the first meeting of the Duel Monsters club was due to take place. It was too take place in the Great Hall until Kelley had a good idea of how many students would be attending, then he would find a more suitable location.

Jaden, Jesse, Alexis, Atticus, Harry, Hermione and Ron stepped into the Great Hall and noticed that it was arranged with small tables scattered around rather than the four long tables that were usually there. Kelley stood at the head of the hall where the Staff Table usually was talking with a slim girl around the same age as Atticus with curly auburn hair and pale-blue eyes. "Hello, you seven are the first to arrive along with my daughter, it seems," Kelley said.

"Hey, Briana, I didn't know ya dueled," Atticus said brightly.

Briana shrugged, smiling. "You never asked," she said.

"So what kinda deck to ya duel with anyway?"

"Mostly Plant-type."

"Cool."

Gradually, more students began to trickle in. Jaden noted that they were all from Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

Kelley studied the group before nodding. "Not a bad turnout," he said. "We'll wait a little longer for any stragglers before we get started."

When it became clear no one else was coming, and everyone had taken a seat at the tables—they only sat four per table so Jaden, Jesse, Harry and Ron were at one table while Alexis, Atticus, Hermione and Briana were at another—Kelley started speaking again.

"Welcome everyone. Today is just an introductory day to get to know everyone who will be attending. Since this is supposed to be a fun club, I'm not going to bore you by giving you too much background information on the game, especially not right away as I do want you to learn about ancient magic, since that is a course that is not taught here. I will answer any questions that you have to the best of my ability but I'm going to largely leave this in your hands, meaning that you will be in charge of it yourselves."

Hermione raised a hand.

"Yes, Ms…"

"Hermione Granger, sir," Hermione said, lowering her hand. "Will one of us be in charge then?"

"That is what you will decide amongst yourselves. First of all, how many of you here have heard of the game Duel Monsters?"

Everyone at Jaden's table and at Hermione's table raised their hands as did the majority of the rest of the students.

"All right and how many of you have actually played the game before?"

The number of raised hands dropped rather significantly.

Kelley nodded. "A bit more than I had thought, since the game isn't as popular here in Britain as it is in America and Japan," he said. "All right so, before I leave you to get to know everyone, does anyone have any questions about the game?"

Naturally, Hermione's hand shot up as did quite a few Ravenclaws.

Kelley looked around and then pointed to one of the Ravenclaws. "Yes, Ms.?"

"Micaela Saunders, sir," the Ravenclaw third year said, lowering her hand. She was a black-haired girl with brown eyes.

"Very well, Miss. Saunders, what is your question?"

"If Duel Monsters really did have magical origins, where did it originate?"

"Duel Monsters originated from Ancient Egypt," Kelley replied. "But, back then, it was a game in which the monsters were real, brought to life by a form of ancient magic known as Shadow Magic and through use of seven mystical items known as the Millennium Items."

Hermione raised her hand again.

"Yes, Miss. Granger?"

"What is Shadow Magic?" Hermione asked, lowering her hand. "I mean, it sounds like it's dark."

"It's not, not exactly," Kelley said. "Little is known about Shadow Magic but it was the type of magic used to bring the monsters to life. It is not entirely like the dark magic we see today. I'm afraid I don't know much more beyond that, unfortunately."

Another hand went up, this one from a third year Hufflepuff boy with shaggy light brown hair and dark-green eyes

"Yes, Mr.?"

"Blake Nakamura, sir," said the boy. "I was wondering. What are the Millennium Items exactly?"

"Little is known about them also, besides what they are," replied Kelley. "The seven items are the Scales, the Rod, the Necklace, the Puzzle, the Key, the Eye and the Ring."

"An Eye? Really?" Ron said bewildered.

Kelley nodded. "Yes but most of the information surrounding the items, such as their creation, occurred during a point in time that is referred to as the Gap because little to no information exists from that period in time."

Hermione raised her hand. "Why is that?" she asked when Kelley called on her.

"No one knows, unfortunately," he admitted.

The Ravenclaws seemed oddly disappointed but Saunders raised her hand again.

"Yes, Miss. Saunders?"

"So how did this game become a muggle card game?" Saunders asked, lowering her hand.

"The game was created by Maximillian Pegasus," Kelley said, "based on the games played in Ancient Egypt. Pegasus was the one whom designed the cards based on stone tablets depicting these monsters that were found in Ancient Egypt; he was also the one whom decided on the original rules but Seto Kaiba was the one that came up with the rules that we use nowadays, which were for the Battle City tournament."

"So how is this game played anyway?" another Ravenclaw asked.

"That's what we'll be getting into at our next meeting. Today is primarily to get to know each other. Feel free to mingle with students from other houses if you want."

"Can we duel?" Jaden asked eagerly.

Kelley looked amused. "If you have decks then you may," he said.

"Sweet!"

Jesse laughed at his best friend's eagerness. "So how about a rematch, Jay?" he asked.

"How about a rematch between us, Jay? I haven't had a chance to try out my new deck," Harry said.

"Can I duel you instead, Harry?" Alexis asked as she, Hermione and Atticus walked over to join them.

"I don't mind," Jaden said with a shrug.

"Cool. Okay, Alexis, if you wanna duel then let's," Harry said and Alexis smiled before pulling out her deck and placing it on the table, where there was a game mat.

While they dueled, everyone started gathering around the two of them while Atticus turned to Briana. "Wanna duel?" he asked.

"Sure," Briana said and they walked over to another table and started another duel.

Before long, everyone who knew how to duel was in a duel, though since there was an odd number of duelists, one of them was sitting out. Jaden ended up in a duel against the Hufflepuff Blake Nakamura while Jesse was watching. It was an interesting duel, especially since Blake was using another deck that had just been recently released.

Kelley wandered around the classroom, making sure they were all getting along and was pleased to note that they were. All three houses were getting along rather well, though there was some competitiveness but that was to be expected in Duel Monsters.

He briefly watched his daughter and Atticus Rhodes end up in a stalemate where they were basically top-decking as they tried to get the advantage. Scanning the other duels, Kelley had to admit that some of them were good duelists while others were still learning, though they, at least, understood the rules of the game.

Those who were not dueling were gathered around those who were, watching the duel, making comments or asking questions, especially the Ravenclaws who were eager to learn all they could about the game.

Jesse ended up finding someone to duel when Micaela beat her opponent and then left an open challenge to anyone who wanted to duel her.

After a few hours, the club meeting ended and Kelley said, "We'll meet again Saturday afternoon at two," as the group began to break apart and head toward the doors, talking with each other; some sounded excited or intrigued or curious while others didn't seem to care about the club so far.

"That was rather interesting," Ron commented.

"There are a lot more duelists at this school than I thought there would be," Atticus commented.

"And some pretty good ones at that. Blake really had me on the ropes there for a bit," Jaden said.

"Briana beat me," said Atticus. "I'm gonna challenge her to a rematch next meeting."

"Who won between you two?" Jaden asked, turning to Harry.

"Alexis," Harry said. "I kinda decked out."

"What's that mean?" Ron asked.

"It means he didn't have any more cards to draw and when you can't draw when your turn comes around, you automatically lose," Jaden explained.

"Makes sense," Hermione said thoughtfully.

"So how do you decide what deck to get and all that?" Ron asked curiously. "I mean, everyone had so many different decks."

"I honestly dunno," Jaden said. "I chose my deck because I've always liked heroes and those cards seemed to…reach out to me I guess."

"I just found the Lightsworn monsters to be really cool," Harry said.

"I've always liked dancing and my cards relate to that," Alexis said. "I think choosing your deck depends on who you are and what you connect to or like."

"Or your deck chooses you, like the Crystal Beasts chose me," Jesse added, Ruby curled around his neck.

"Huh, I wonder where I could find these cards," said Ron.

"I think you can find them at any Game Shop out there, like in the mundane world. I dunno if they sell 'em in the Wizarding World but it's doubtful," Jaden said. "Maybe this summer I can send ya some booster packs or I could send an owl to Dad and see if he could send us some packs." He looked thoughtful.

"Uncle Kaito probably would," Harry said.

. . .

Classroom Near Great Hall

It was decided that the club would meet in one of the classrooms on the first floor near the Great Hall since the size of the club seemed to remain small enough to not need the Great Hall. It was also decided that those who knew how to duel would be in charge and that it would meet at two in the afternoon every Saturday.

After three weeks, the gang were getting used to the way the club worked. It was primarily dueling with a lot of teaching and helping the members create their own decks from booster packs and starter decks that Kelley and other students had brought, which started in the third week. Ron seemed to connect with Warrior-type monsters while Hermione, after she was persuaded to make a deck of her own—she did so but only for the purpose of getting a better learning experience from the club—connected with a Water deck.

Also, like Dumbledore said, it did not interfere with Quidditch, which was a good thing since Wood, after what happened the last time he had tried to book the Quidditch Pitch for practice, was working the entire team hard in preparation for the upcoming Quidditch matches. Harry was thankful that he was able to juggle the two.

"So how do you decide what cards go in your deck?" Ron asked, gazing at the many cards that lay scattered on the table.

"It depends on the deck you're creating," Harry said. "But it should have a balance. Not just monster cards but Spells and Traps as well."

"Hmm, well, I could use some cards to protect my monsters and my Life Points," Ron murmured, more to himself than anyone.

"How are you doing, Hermione?" Alexis asked, peering at Hermione's partly made deck.

"Hmm?" Hermione looked up. "Oh, I'm doing all right, Alexis." She returned her attention to her deck and pressed her lips together.

"And to think you didn't even like this game," Ron teased.

Hermione huffed. "I never said that. I just said that I don't see the point of it," she said.

"And now?"

"I still don't see the point of it but it does look interesting and its history is fascinating," said Hermione.

. . .

Gryffindor Common Room

"And I'll attack your Shire with Marauding Captain," Ron said.

"I play my Negate Attack to stop your attack and end the Battle Phase," Harry said, flipping over one of the cards he had placed on the placemat.

"Dang it," Ron muttered, looking at his hand and picking a card. "I place this facedown and end my turn."

"You're learning quickly," Harry commented as he drew a card.

"Well, that rulebook you gave me and the club certainly helped," Ron admitted.

"You should do your homework," said Hermione, looking up from her Transfigurations book. "We have a Transfigurations essay due on Monday."

"That's due Monday? Bloody hell!" Ron groaned, gathering his cards together. "I haven't even started it yet."

"Really?" Jaden repeated. "I have finished half of it."

"You finished half of your homework?" Harry repeated.

Jaden smacked him upside the head with a couch cushion.

Jesse chuckled. "Did you finish your Charms homework?" he asked.

Jaden blinked. "Ah man! I completely forgot about that assignment!" He groaned as he got to his feet and dashed out of the common room, leaving the rest to watch him go in amusement.

He came back five minutes later and, by that time, everyone was working on their homework, or reading a book as Hermione was doing since she was done. He plopped down beside Jesse and opened his book. "So, what was the assignment again?" he asked.

"Summarize chapter three and then write a short summary on the uses if any charm mentioned in that chapter," Jesse said.

"Sounds easy enough," Jaden said as he started working.

a/n what do you think?

Blaze: well, I hope I didn't disappoint on this introduction of the club

Darth: I liked it

Blaze: you always like it. And I was planning on including some more Harry/Alexis hints but…it kinda didn't work out like I wanted it too. Oh well, the Christmas/Polyjuice chapter will have more hints about Harry/Alexis (I wonder if there is a shipping name for Harry/Alexis)

Harry: cool, what happens next?

Blaze: Halloween, in which something bad always seems to happen and I might include some Harry/Alexis hints

Harry: oh boy

Blaze: so I hope you enjoyed this chapter and reviews, as always, are much appreciated
