Jack was watching all of the activity quietly. He was glad to see that Lea's father was being taken away. Jack was glad to know that Lea was going to end up somewhere safe. Mostly Jack was glad that, out of all the people to help her, it was Jaime. They both deserved to be happy. Jack stayed with Lea as she talked to and was inspected by the officers. He stayed a quiet, but constant presence by her through it all. When he was sure she would be looked after he turned to the kids. "Take care of each other ok?" he asked them. "You're leaving?" Lea asked. Jack shrugged. "For now I am, but I'll be back and check in with you two." He turned to fly off. "Jack!" Lea shouted, running up and hugging him. She whispered "Thanks" Jack smiled and hugged her back. He hugged Jaime goodbye, then flew off.
Jaime lead Lea over to the officer he had been talking to. The officer started talking to and inspecting Lea again. The officer gasped as she showed all the bruises and cuts that her father had given her. Jaime listened quietly as she told the officer about all the things her father had said to her. Then he followed her back up to her room which was freezing cold again. She explained how her father had turned off the power in her room. The officer nodded, listened, and occasionally asked questions as he lead them back out to the yard. "Don't worry young lady, he will never hurt you again, we'll make sure of that" he said, flipping closed his notepad. Then he waved to one of the other officers. They nodded and the car with her father drove away.
