I smiled, staring at all of the bright lights that flashed around, adoring the amusement park scene I had feared at one point. The zombie children were walking around like before, seeming to enjoy themselves, it appeared. I stared around, hunting for Jack. All of a sudden, an ice cream cone was nearly shoved into my face. I backed away, my eyes widening. Jack was standing in front of me, grinning ear from ear. The vanilla ice cream cone was dripping as he offered it, another one in his other claw.
"Hello, sweets! Are you ready to have fun?" he asked, seeming extra hyper.
I giggled, taking the ice cream. I licked it, nodding my head at the same time. "Yep. What do you want to do first?" I asked, looking around.
"Eat my ice cream, of course. But afterward... well, there's a new ride that I want to try out. It's a new roller coaster," he informed me, taking a huge bite of his ice cream. I cringed, thinking of how much that would hurt if I did it. That chilling pain in my teeth... ugh.
"Sure," I replied, hurriedly trying to finish my ice cream cone before it melts.
Jack walked ahead, leading the way as we weaved around the children, approaching the monstrous new ride. I gulped, my eyes widening at the sight of that thing.
"Somethin' wrong, sweets?" Jack asked, a certain sparkle in his eyes.
"No," I spat back, quickly shaking my head.
"You aren't scared, are you?" he taunted, giggling a bit.
My eyes narrowed, playfully. "Not at all, Jackie."
Quickly, I swiped my ice cream across his cone nose, giggling as his eyes widened. He quickly tried to wipe it off with his claws as I laughed, shaking my head.
"Gummy bears, I bring her ice cream and this is how I'm repaid," he chuckled, his silvery eyes warmer than I have seen.
"Oh, stahp," I chuckled, as he quickly pulled me to the roller coaster, throwing our ice cream cones away in the process. My heart rate quickened, the drop beyond comprehension. Man, I was glad this was technically a dream.
Of course, I couldn't have the wait in the line to calm my nerves. We were able to walk to the very front. Shit. Jack and I were placed in our seat, my mouth a solid line. Jack was snickering to himself, watching my expression.
"You're a jackass," I murmured, causing him to laugh even more due to my pun.
"Thank you, tootsie," he giggled, throwing his head back with laughter.
I cracked a grin, it instantly fading as the ride started up. My hands clenched into tight fists as we began to climb the incredibly tall hill. I snapped my eyes shut, only the wind slapping my face and Jack's outrageous laughter being noticed throughout it all. Nope. I was not looking around. It didn't necessarily help the fact that the ride was slinging me into the side, and on Jack. I knew my knuckles were as white as snow due to how hard I was gripping the safety bar.
"Open your eyes, sweets!" Jack called, breaking into another fit of laughter.
I viciously shook my head, sighing with relief as I noticed the ride begin to slow to a stop. I opened my eyes, seeing Jack's big grin as he stared at me.
"You missed the entire ride! C'mon, snickers, one more go!" he giggled, bouncing up and down.
"Hell no," I growled as a zombie came by, releasing us from our seat.
I was quick to barrel out of there, never to go on that thing ever again. Now, I wasn't one to be afraid of roller coasters. But damn. I guess this place had no limits. Jack was instantly next to me, already talking about more rides and games to play. Much like the first time we went around, we played all the games and rode what little rides I felt like after that horrible roller coaster. He even won himself a bear like promised, naming it TJ. He carried the black and white, striped bear around with pride, a prominent grin stretched across his face. Unfortunately, I was growing tired, which signaled I would wake up soon. I yawned, grabbing Jack's attention.
"No, you can't go yet!" he pouted, crossing his arms.
"I'm sorry, Jack," I chuckled, offering a small smile.
"One more ride. C'mon!" he pleaded, giving his best impression of puppy dog eyes. And I must say... they were effective.
"Fine," I sighed, giving in.
"Yay! Close your eyes, lollipop, it's a surprise."
I raised an eyebrow, not really trusting him with surprises. But, I didn't have much to lose. I was about to wake up anyway. I shut my eyes, feeling him take both of my hands, leading me forward. I resisted the urge to open my eyes as he led me through the park, finally coming to a stop. He helped me into a seat, and... strapped me in? I swear to god if it was that damned roller coaster again I was going to break his nose. I opened my eyes, my heart dropping to the pit of my stomach.
The Ferris Wheel.
My head threw over to him, his wide, accomplished smile tauntingly looking back. "Surprise," he purred, chuckling to himself.
"You-" I crossed my arms, slight fear building up again. Damn it, this night was supposed to be fun! Yet he has put me on two things that messed with my fear of heights.
"Come on, it'll be fun, sweetie, I promise. If it gets stuck at the top, which it wont, I can poof us down. Or you'll just wake up. Either way, you'll be fine," he reassured, as the Ferris Wheel started up.
"It's not like I have much of a choice," I whispered, slinking down.
Scooting closer to Jack, I watched as he grinned, wrapping his arm around me. I then looked around, as the Ferris Wheel climbed higher and higher into the sky. The amusement park grew smaller and smaller, flickering white lights and the movement of zombie children fading. The sky was pitch black, slightly illuminated due to the bright lights that lined the Ferris Wheel. We continued in the slow circle, as I began to calm down, Jack's smile soft.
"See, I told you it wouldn't be bad," he chuckled, squeezing me closer.
"Yeah, yeah," I sighed, shifting uncomfortably.
We reached the top once more, but instead of continuing, Jack lifted his free hand, snapping his fingers. The ride came to a halt. I went into full panic mode, scrambling in my seat, but Jack tightened his hold.
"Calm down, sweets, I had to," he chuckled. "I'll start it back in a minute, just give me a second," he reasoned.
I glared at the magical bastard, wishing he didn't have the abilities that he did. "Why?" I asked, looking at him.
"I was interrupted earlier. I know here, there is no possibility of that happening. Plus, it's considered something you'd say is... romantic, right? I don't know, whatever, I just know that I've wanted to do this."
Without another word, his lips crashed into mine, my eyes widening in shock. Then, they fluttered shut as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him as close as possible. Our lips moved in unison as I heard him snap in fingers, allowing the ride to start again as we continued to kiss. My heart was flying a million miles per second, as Jack's cone nose lightly slid against my cheek. The ride gently came to a stop, Jack pulling away. A wide smile was across his face, his eyes glittering.
"Wow..." he breathed, not moving his arms from around me. "No wonder you humans make such a big deal out of this... I had no idea..." he breathed.
I giggled, nodding my head in agreement. "Neither did I," I replied, my smile soft.
"Tessa, I-" He was cut off by my arms being ripped away, my eyes going wide.
I was frozen, unable to move. It appeared as though the world was shaking, like there was an earth quake or something. Jack was calling my name, but the sound slowly faded away, along with my sight that got progressively dimmer and dimmer.
My eyes snapped open, and I was back on my bed. Although this time, Andy was hovering above me, shaking my shoulders. Frantically, I looked around to see Jack no where in sight. My eyes narrowed, as I glared up at him, realizing he had broken me away from my dream. Fuck, he just loved interrupting things, doesn't he? But if he had interrupted that kiss... I would have personally killed him.
"What? What do you want?" I hissed, causing his blue eyes to widen.
"I... I just wanted to make sure you were alright," he replied, his voice quivering, slightly. I then focused on him more, seeing he appeared shaken.
"What's wrong?" I asked, pushing myself up onto my elbows.
"Tess... I... I had this dream. Of this clown man," he breathed, fear etching across his features.
Jack.
