This has GOT to be the longest chapter I've written for any of my posted stories...go me! ^^ Anyway, this is the last chapter but there is still two epilogues and a semi-sequel based off of the idea of something that happened in this chapter. Read and review all ^^.
"Are you sure we are going the right way Chloe?" Sugar asked as the group walked through the wilderness surrounding the base Shadow had been using before.
"Are you sure you should be up?" Mach questioned in concern, it had only been a few hours since she passed out...still, upon hearing her questioning if their parents were alright she'd gotten up and left the house before they could stop her.
"Technically...no, I'm not sure we're going towards the entrance of the place, I just know where they are. I can track pretty much any Chaos Energy, the way this world was before made it far too difficult is all." Chloe explained simply. "And I'm fine Mach." She added, stopping suddenly. "Chaos-"
"Oh no you don't!" The full-blood said, grabbing his half-sister's arm as she tried to gather Chaos Energy. "What are you even trying to do?!" He demanded angrily.
"Trying to blow up the ground, I already said I don't know where the entrance is." The girl reminded him, glaring for a moment before sighing...she knew full well that she shouldn't use so much Chaos Energy so soon after passing out.
"Sugar?" The boy asked as he turned to the rabbit hybrid.
"You do not actually think that I have enough Dummy Rings to get to their holding cell, do you?" She questioned him.
"I want my Extreme Gear." The 'hero' stated, causing the mechanic to blush.
"Oh...here you go." She said, pulling it out from one of her pouches. Jumping on it as soon as it had grown, the hedgehog pulled his goggles to cover his eyes.
"Everyone back up." He ordered, everyone following the order without question. The rider was quickly to start moving in a small circle, making it larger as he got faster until he'd created a controlled tornado that picked up the earth between the group and the cell. He stopped once the tornado hit metal, which took a minute or two.
"The metal is pretty thick...if we consider everyone being held in the same area then it would have to be to hold Knuckles." The younger girl stated as she tapped it with the back of her hand, her ears twitching slightly. "I should have enough Dummy Rings though."
"How many do you carry on you anyway?" The older girl asked, causing the other to smile as she set a large pile of them to all blow up at once.
"Just enough, apparently." The brown eyed girl responded. "Move!" She said suddenly, tackling both the red eyed boy and the orange eyed girl so as to have them far enough away from the blast, her robotic partner having moved himself and their young guardian far enough away the moment she said she'd had enough. They waited a few moments for the adults to come out of the hole, jumping in one by one when they didn't.
"How doo wii get them out?" Fist asked when everyone noticed themselves in a hallway that had several rooms.
"I have insufficient power." K'aak stated simply, looking rather unhappy.
"I got this!" Everyone turned to see their chameleon hybrid friend with a large smile and hands above her head, her purple-pink Chaos Energy forming in her hands.
"Chloe, you sho-"
"Chaos Bomb!" She cut off her half-brother, slamming her hands into the floor. A large explosion followed, the group all bracing themselves for pain...however the attack passed through them as it had before. Looking around they found the cells destroyed and rather confused looking adults staring at them.
"M...Mach?" Sonic asked softly, eyes wide at the sight of his son. Looking at his father the boy smiled and nodded, only for the man to dash into him and hugs him tightly. "You're alright...you're all alright!" He exclaimed as he looked at the rest of the group.
"Of course, with Mach as our leader we were bound to win." Sugar said proudly, suddenly hearing a soft hum from beside her. Looking over she saw Chloe giving her a look that said she outta tell the whole truth. "We did have help though." The hybrid flier added with a sheepish smile, gesturing to said older hybrid.
"Who are you?" Knuckles asked as his wife hugged their son and cried, the young guardian doing the same.
"Chloe the Hedgeleon." The detective introduced, bowing to the adults in a show of respect.
"...You're Espio's daughter, aren't you?" The echidna questioned, the girl gasping.
"Yes, but...how did you...?"
"He's the only purple chameleon I know of." The red puncher explained, the girl nodding in agreement...she'd never met another purple chameleon either.
"Are you alright?" Everyone seemed to freeze as Tails spoke, walking to his daughter.
"Yeah...I'm fine..." She responded, looking away from him.
"I protected Sugar, as commanded." K'aak added as the yellow fox nodded.
"Good." Was the older mechanic's only response.
"Uh...maybii wii shud get out of heer." The pink hybrid suggested, everyone nodding in agreement.
"Who did you say your mother was Chloe?" Amy asked as they walked back the city, the group of children freezing.
"Um...well, that...uh..." Chloe began, laughing nervously. Was it really a good idea to tell them that her mother was Eclipse?
"Clowee's mom is Miss Eeklips!" Fist said proudly, causing the children to face-palm.
"Fist!" The orange eyed girl growled, causing him to freeze.
"Did I say someding rong?" He asked, head tilt to she side like a curious child.
"Your mother...is who?!" Sonic demanded as he suddenly became very angry.
"She's from another timeline!" Mach explained quickly, not wanting anything to happen.
"When would she have been..." The anger in the hero's voice fell as he seemed to remember something from long ago. "So...she went to him in that timeline then..." He murmured before sighing.
"We haven't properly thanked you Chloe." The pink hedgehog pointed out suddenly, the other adults nodding. "We should have a party." She suggested.
"I have to go home..." The chameleon hybrid pointed out, only for her half-brother to put his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sure you can stay long enough for us to throw you a party, it's the least we can do to thank you. You saved us all Chloe, we have to do something." He pointed out, the girl thinking for a few moments before nodding.
"I guess it's fine...a little later shouldn't be that big a deal." She finally agreed.
"Do you really think this is a good idea?" Sonic asked as he looked at the chameleon hybrid.
"If not you can always just call me to deal with him." Chloe responded as her eyes darted to the male mechanic. "Is everything set?" She questioned.
"Nearly." Tails stated as he typed into a laptop. "You realise this goes against everything I originally programmed him for, right?" He pointed out. They were currently on the ARK with K'aak in a pod similar to the one Eclipse had been created in, the party being held that evening.
"Wouldn't you like him to have a purpose beyond what you originally programmed? Besides, this is what he wants...he's shown that several times." The orange eyed girl explained as she stared at the mechanical hedgehog.
"Will this even work?"
"That's why I have you here Mr. Sonic."
"Everything is ready Chloe." The blue eyed man said suddenly, causing the girl to smile widely.
"Now, to bend the very fabric of space and time." Taking off her visor once more the hybrid stared at the robot. "Chaos..." Her Chaos Energy surrounded him and the odd, reddish liquid in his pod. "...Control!" The light was just as bright as when she'd changed the world back to its proper state, the adults covering their eyes. After a few moments the light dimmed before disappearing all together, leaving a gasping Chloe with her visor on again...and a red teenaged hedgehog in the pod where K'aak had been.
"You're...amazing..." The yellow flier specified with wide eyes as he stared at the red hedgehog.
"Well? Open the pod!" The detective demanded, the younger man nodding and hitting a series of buttons before the liquid drained and the pod hissed as it opens. Bright red eyes flutter open as the hedgehog slowly awakens and steps out of the pod.
"Where...?" He questioned with a voice that sounded like it had never been used before, short quills messy and skin tanned.
"You're on the ARK. We brought you here for an...upgrade." The purple-pink girl smiled at the boy before walking over to the side of the room and pulling out some purple and grey clothing. "Put these on." She ordered, tossing them to him.
"What? Why?" He demanded angrily, glaring at the girl.
"Just do as she says and you'll see." The fox stated to the boy, who sighed and went to pull what seemed to be a coat off...only for there to be nothing.
"W...what...?" His red eyes were wide as he dropped the clothes and looked at himself.
"Do you like your new body, K'aak?" Chloe asked as she gestured to the reflective window. The boy ran to it and looked himself over with the same wide eyes.
"I'm...I'm...organic..." K'aak whispered in surprise.
"It took a lot of energy and quite a bit of reprogramming but...yeah. To put simply I fused your old body with my mother's DNA and some more...complicated things, so...I'm not sure how long you're actually going to live, but you're organic." The Chaos user stated with a small smile.
"You did this...to me...for me?" The boy asked as the girl nodded.
"Now, put on the clothes. They're specially made." She explained, the boy nodding. A purple tank top, grey pants with purple belts and zippers to make them shorts, grey and purple wrist bands, purple and grey running shoes, a grey bandana around his neck and two metal stud earrings. "They're made to simulate your old body...an example would be that then wrist bands can become your old guns around your hands and armour. The whole outfit can become armour for you; the earrings create a visor so you're able to scan things like before."
"You made these?" The once robotic hedgehog asked, the girl shaking her head.
"All I did was predict your Chaos Energy and made sure they only activate to you...Mr. Tails made them."
"This was all Chloe's idea; don't let her shrink on the credit like that." Tails instructed as the young full-blood looked at the blue speedster.
"What are you doing here then?" He asked.
"Support in case something went wrong." Sonic stated simply. "Now that you're organic you're going to need a full name." He added.
"K'aak Tone. Like T-one." The hybrid said, having clearly thought of this for quite a while now.
"K'aak Tone...yes, that will do." The tanned boy agreed, causing the girl to smile.
"Now, to the party!" She exclaimed as the four disappeared without warning in a flash of purple-pink light.
"I can't believe you made K'aak like that..." Mach stated as he stared at the once robot talking to their old mechanic.
"Are you unhappy about it?" Chloe asked her half-brother, decked out in a formal blue, purple and white dress that Cream had made for her now that she was fine again. Sugar had told Tails what she thought of him and it seemed the family was starting anew, hopefully having a better ending than the one they'd had before.
"No, just...amazed. You really are amazing Chloe." The full-blood said, smiling at her and causing her to blush.
"N-not really...I-Iwasn'tevensureifitwasgoingtowork." The hybrid responded, speaking far too quickly...her companion merely laughed softly at her.
"Clowee!" Fist called from across the room, causing the girl to laugh a bit herself and walk to the little boy to see what he wanted.
"You know...your powers may not work again with our world back to normal." Tails pointed out to his best friend's son as the boy watched his half-sister hug everyone goodbye...it was time for her to go home.
"What do you mean?" The red eyed boy asked.
"What I mean, Mach, is...you may never see Chloe again. Are you really alright with that?" The blue eyed man questioned, the eyes of the boy widening.
"Never...again..." He murmured, looking at his father. "I'm sorry." He said simply, dashing towards the girl.
"That should be my line." The fox sighed, looking at his best friend. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be. If...if being in her world with her will make him happy then I'm fine with it. I'm sure I'll see him again." Sonic smiled at his friend in a reassuring way.
"Chloe!" The streaked hedgehog yelled as the girl was about to go through the portal home, causing her to stop and look at him.
"Yes?" She asked him.
"I'm coming with you." He stated, his half-sister's eyes widening.
"Mach..." She whispered before smiling. "Alright. Let's go." She said, holding her hand out to him. He grabbed her hand and walked to her side.
"Goodbye." They said together, jumping into the portal together.
What a cute ending, yeah? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this long chapter and this entire story. Look forward to the epilogues, see ya'll later!
