I've had this posted on Wattpad for about two years now I think *sweat drops* I finally decided to go ahead and post in on here... I have more one-shots in the works, but they have been sent to my Beta Reader.
Also! I would like for everyone to get excited for 'Butterflies'. I am currently rewriting / editing all the old chapters- right now I'm almost done with the Grand Tour! I just have to wait for my chapters to get back from my Beta, and then I'll start posting. Please be patient :) Thanks.
IMPORTANT- This chapter takes places right after chapter 82 in Butterflies. If you don't remember that chapter, I'll tell you. It's the chapter Trunks and Pan have sex for the first time. Again! This chapter goes right after that one!
20- Nerves
Trunks- 20
Pan- 17
Pan sat on her window sill, watching the rain run down the glass. Her stomach was in knots. It felt full, yet empty at the same time. And it was all because she was worrying about Trunks arriving home. Never had she ever felt this way towards him... Nervous. She was nervous! Ever since they had slept together she couldn't even look at him straight without blushing.
She didn't regret that night. Far from it actually. But she couldn't stop herself from being... Embarrassed. And it was always in front of Trunks, so that made it worse.
With a sigh, Pan stood up and headed downstairs to the Briefs' kitchen. Lunch would be ready soon... She could help her mom set up the table and keep herself busy so she wouldn't have to worry about anything.
Trunks arrived right before the meal started. He greeted everyone with a smile and took his normal seat beside Pan. He casted a worried glance her way when she tensed slightly. Something was wrong with her... For the past week she had been avoiding him.
Every time they were together she avoided his eyes and played with her hands. She hadn't been able speak full sentences either. Was she sick or just simply ignoring him?
"Are you okay?"
Pan almost yelped. Her eyes widened and a dark blush lit up her cheeks as she looked at Trunks- who was just inches away. He was so close! But that's how they were... Normally, they were even closer. What was wrong with her?!
"Y-yeah," she said softly, smiling.
Trunks' lips pursed together, and he raised an eyebrow. He looked mad. "I see..." He was mad...
He shifted away from her, leaving her skin cold. Now he was too far... She couldn't be pleased could she? She didn't want to make him mad, but she didn't understand how to tell him what was wrong without sounding silly.
They didn't talk for the rest of the meal, and Pan figured everyone could sense their awkwardness. After the meal, Trunks got up and headed up the stairs. Pan stood up suddenly, glooming towards the living room. She plopped on the couch, grabbing a pillow and squeezing it to her tightly as she buried her he's in it.
A few minutes later she felt someone sit down beside her, but she didn't look up. She didn't feel like talking to anyone at the moment.
"So..." It was Bulla. "I never thought I'd see the day when you and Trunks had a fight so bad you're not even talking to each other."
"We didn't have a fight," Pan muffled.
"Then what was that about at the table?"
Pan took in a deep breath, her face feeling hot. Her stomach dropped when she thought about it.
"I'm... Nervous around him," she said softly.
"Nervous?" Bulla raised an eyebrow.
Pan sat up, tears gathering in her eyes. "Ever since we've had sex..." She whispered. "I can't... I get so embarrassed by anything I do around him."
"Pan you should talk to him," Bulla gave her friend a serious look. "It's not right for you to keep all these feelings to yourself- especially since they're bothering not only you but Trunks too."
"I don't even know what to say!" Pan's eyes widened.
Bulla raised an eyebrow. "Since when have you never had anything to say to Trunks...?"
"Since now..." She said softly, leaning against the pillow again.
"Look Pan, I'm not going to force you to talk to him, but I'm just going say that I think you should at least try to talk to him."
Bulla got up, leaving Pan to her own. She knew her friend was right. She should talk to Trunks, but she didn't how to begin. Maybe she would just have to follow her gut.
Pan stood up, her legs shaking. She walked out of the room and up the stairs to the room she had been in several times. She stopped in front of the door, knocking before she cursed herself mentally. Why did she knock?! She never knocked before!
"Panna?" Trunks raised an eyebrow when he opened the door. He was wearing a pair of grey sweats and black shirt.
Pan felt her heart speed up, and her face grow warmer. "Can I come in...?"
"Yeah," Trunks answered confused. He walked into his room, leaving Pan at the door.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to walk into the room and shut the door. Carefully she sat on the edge of his bed, shaking from jittered nerves. She turned to look at him, but he was busy putting his suit up in his closet.
Pan clasped her hands on her lap, her heart was the only thing she could hear. The silence was straining and horrible. Her and Trunks had never been like this.
Before she even realized it, he was standing in front of her. He didn't look mad... His face actually looked soft. "What's wrong Panna?" He whispered, only hoping that she would tell him. He didn't push it at the table because he figured it was something private.
Pan looked at him, her body suddenly shaking. Her neck, ears, and face felt hot, and it felt like something was coating her throat, stopping her from speaking. She opened her mouth, but nothing came out. It was way too embarrassing to say...
Trunks let out a light sigh, almost feeling useless. Why wouldn't she tell him what was bothering her? It was obviously something serious...
He started to turn around and Pan's eyes widened. She couldn't let him go away! Before she stopped herself she grabbed the back of his shirt with her shaking fingers, stopping him. She closed her eyes tightly.
'Ever since...'
Trunks turned towards her, surprised that she was talking through their bond and not out loud. Her eyes were shut tightly as she looked down. Her grip on his shirt was tight as her other hand formed a fist. Her arms seemed to be shaking...
'Ever since the night we first slept together I've felt nervous around you,' she continued, taking a deep breath. 'I didn't feel it the morning after, but the next day I did. I don't know why this is happening... I'm so sorry! I just feel so embarrassed around you... And nervous... And I don't know what to do-'
Lips pressed against hers, shutting her brain down for a second. Trunks pulled away and she opened her eyes, her mouth opened in shock. He moved a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled.
"You don't have to do anything." He leaned his forehead against her warm one, and kissed her nose.
Pan sniffed. "I don't know why I'm feeling like this... It's like," she tightened her grip on his shirt. "It's like I've just realized that I'm madly in love with you again..." She laughed lightly. "I became so nervous about how I should act around you so I just watched you mostly. I've fallen in love with you all over again, and I'm nervous that you still don't love me like that..."
Trunks grabbed her hand that was clinched into a fist and opened it before placing it on his chest. She could feel his heartbeat on her palms. It was steady and strong, the rhythm was calming.
"Bump bump... Bump bump... Bump bump..." Trunks whispered softly, like he was intimidating his heartbeat. "Without you, it wouldn't be beating. Panna, I can't even express the way I feel about you and do it justice. There's not a single person on this planet that's like you and I am so thankful for that because I get you all to myself. As rich as I am, as happy as I could be with all the money I have... I would be the sorriest man in the world if I didn't have you by my side. I can't go a day without you, and when I'm not with you, I can't stop thinking about you... I love you, and I am never going to stop."
Pan curled her fingers into his shirt lightly, tugging him closer toward her. She wanted to be close to him. She didn't want to miss out on any more moments with him.
Their lips welcomed each other and Pan parted her mouth open for Trunks' tongue. She scooted back some as he climbed onto the bed and gently laid them down. Trunks' hand reached up, tangling in her hair as she tightened her grip on the back of his shirt. She pressed her body against his, her nerves fading by the second.
"Sorry for being silly," she panted against his lips.
He smiled, tasting her fruity breath. "You're cute when you're silly..." He leaned down, devouring her lips with his.
