Tony's POV

When I woke up everything was unbearably hot, and I was unbearably thirsty. I stumbled out of bed and fell face first on the floor of the camp infirmary. If this had been a normal day, a normal nightmare, Aster would have been there. But I can't wake up. Is this the nightmare? Aster not being there? Where was she? I need her here... A camper on duty swoops down to help me up again. But this lower rank camper isn't Aster. This lower rank camper can tell me that I've got a fever. That I'm on medication right now. but this lower rank camper can't comfort me like my best friend.

The person whose serving as Praetor while I'm in bed feverish and delusional and Aster is NO WHERE TO BE FOUND is the dorky, dimwitted Michael Collins, who is pretty much an idiot and the worst replacement. The lower rank camper on duty and I argue for about an hour about my ability to be back as Praetor tomorrow. He thinks I can't I think I can. But I'm not in the mood to persuade him.

I have to sleep for awhile. I'm just tired... Tired...

The next morning its completely obvious I'm as feverish as before, but ten times more determined to find Aster AND CHEW HER OUT. I'm actually pretty mad at her now. She abandoned the camp and left a weakling in charge, a weakling who is probably destroying the camp. She abandoned me to a lower rank camper who knows only how to say things like, "Sir you have a fever," and "Sir you can't get out of bed." If she was here I wouldn't be mad at her. If she was her I might talk about the nightmares. If she was here I wouldn't feel so sick to my stomach...

If I was in my right mind I wouldn't have started screaming.

"ASTER! ASTER!" Over and over. Being treated as if I wasn't in charge. Being treated like I was a mental little boy how dare they how dare they...

When everyone finally left me alone I got dressed, stuck my sword (which looked like a flashlight) into my pocket, and then smiled. I was going to find her. I would bring her back to camp. And no one was going to stop me. No one was going to tell me that I could barely walk without stumbling. No one would even know.

I wouldn't let them know.
