At everyone who is waiting for another chapter of "Day 2 Day", I am sorry to keep you waiting. I have written another chapter, but I am not completely happy with it. But I know you guys are waiting, and I will update soon!

New York Reunion

"There she is!" Lily exclaimed excited.

They were all standing in the JFK waiting area, trying to spot Robin.

Ted was the first one to move, and therefore also the first one to reach, and hug her.

The others were close behind, and Barney could hear Ted say, "it's so good to have you back."

He couldn't help it, and rolled his eyes.

He let Lily, and Marshall hug Robin first. Save the best for last, right?

"Come here you." Barney muttered as he pulled her into a tight hug, "it's so good to have you back on US soil."

"True that, I can't wait for a real hamburger." Robin replied.

"In that case, McLarens it is." Barney shouted.

He wanted to let go of her to get her suitcase, but Robin didn't pull her arm away, and he decided to do the same, which lead to them walking through the terminal arm-in-arm.

"How was your flight?" Marshall asked.

"Great, not a single turbulence." Robin grinned, "Oh Lily, I finally got to see that movie you told me about."

"On the plane? Did you like it?"

"Loved it." Robin replied.

Barney noticed how Ted was first eyeing Robin, and then gave Barney a questioning look.

He just grinned back at Ted.

Yes, Robin was probably just trying to keep some space between her, and Ted, and that's why she clung onto Barney, but he wasn't complaining.

They reached the cabs, and Marshall suggested that they should split.

"Robin, and I will share one." Ted interjected quickly.

"Sure, you can split one with us." Robin replied without missing a beat.

Barney helped the cab driver load the suitcase, which let to Ted scooting in next to Robin in the back, but he didn't care.

"Are you tired?" Ted asked as the cab pulled away.

"Exhausted. But I am also starving, so a burger sounds really good right now."

"McLarens has a new one, with swiss cheese, bacon, and guacamole, it's divine." Barney said as he looked back over his shoulder.

"Then that's what I will be having." Robin replied.

"So tell me, how is the job Robin? I want to know everything." Ted asked.

It made Barney laugh, what a sucker.

They reached McLarens an hour later, and by then Robin had told them all about Tokyo, and Barney, and Ted had filled her in on what had happened in New York.

"Two scotches, and two Swiss Burgers with fries." Barney told Carl as they walked by the bar on their way to their usual booth.

"Thanks." Robin grinned.

Ted had carried her luggage, and reached the table last, thus getting stuck with the chair.

"I can't believe I am actually here." Robin said as she scooted into the seat next to Barney.

"Me neither." Barney said as he smoothened out a couple of wild strands in her hair.

"There is no place like home, right?" Ted asked.

Robin shrugged, "and where is home? I mean, a week from today I am not even going to have an apartment anymore."

"You can always crash at my place when you are in the city…sex visas last 24 hours, 48 if you qualify for multiple entry." Barney suggested, winking at her.

He was relieved when she laughed about it.

"Gross." Ted muttered.

Lily, and Marshall joined them, "sorry we are late, Marshall distracted the driver with his big foot theories and he missed a turn."

"Did you order already?"

"Robin, and I did." Barney replied.

"You did?" Ted asked surprised.

Barney nodded, "at the bar, when we walked in."

"Did you eat anything on the plane?" Marshall asked.

Robin shook her head, "I wasn't really hungry, but now I am starving. Barney recommended the new burger, so I am going to try that."

"Oh it's really good. I get it all the time." Marshall nodded.

"But you still consider New York your home, right? Even without having an apartment here?" Ted asked.

Robin shrugged, "I don't know, I guess we'll see."

"Home is were your heart is, right?" Lily asked.

"Yeah, and right now my heart is in all the different places I will be visiting over the next couple of years." Robin explained.

"But New York has to be a top priority to visit too," Lily said, "we miss hanging out with you."

Robin nodded, "you are always welcome to visit, you know that, right?"

"Do you think you will get to live in Scotland at some point? That's where I want to go." Marshall asked.

"Or Rome, or Barcelona." Lily added.

Robin shrugged, "you never know."

The burgers, and drinks came, and Barney, and Robin started eating while the others waited for their food.

"So what are your plans for the week?" Marshall asked.

"Well, Barney, and I are going to play Laser Tag, at least twice, right?" Robin asked.

Barney nodded.

"And the cigar lounge is a must do. I want to go visit my dogs upstate, and Ted, and I are going to get brunch sometime too." Robin explained.

"I got us a table tomorrow at eleven." Ted told her.

Robin nodded, "perfect."

"What are you going to do with the stuff in your apartment?" Lily asked.

Robin shrugged, "if anyone wants anything, take it. The rest… I don't know, maybe a storage unit? But I feel like if I do that then it will just stay there for years, and I am never going to use it anyways, so I might as well get rid of everything now."

"Are you serious?" Ted asked surprised, "but what if you decide to move back to New York in a couple of months?"

"The chances of that happening are very slim." Robin replied.

"You never know though, I think you should hold on to that stuff." Ted suggested.

Robin shrugged, "I'll think about it."

Robin ended up loving the burger, and they had another scotch while they watched the others eat.

After they were done too, Robin turned to Barney and asked,

"can you take me home?"

Barney was surprised by the request, but nodded, "sure."

"I am sorry, but I am exhausted." Robin explained as she scooted out of the booth.

"Hey, no worries, I am surprised you stayed this long." Lily replied as she pulled Robin into a tight hug.

"I will see you tomorrow, right?" Robin asked Ted as he hugged her.

"Yeah, I will pick you up."

"Great, good night." Robin waved at them, and followed Barney, who had gotten the check, and her suitcase out of the bar.

They stood on the sidewalk, waiting for a cab to come by, and Barney put an arm around her, pulled her close, and kissed her hair, "I am glad you made it back in one piece."

Robin swung her arms around his stomach, "me too."

A cab came by, and Barney let go of her to wave it over.

Once inside Robin sat back, and yawned, "I could just fall asleep."

"You'll be home in thirty minutes." Barney replied, he scooted closer to her, put his arm around her, and encouraged her to rest her head on his shoulder.

She did, and closed her eyes.

"Wasn't it awkward when Ted wanted to ride alone with me earlier?" Robin asked.

"Told ya he is serious."

Robin nodded, "do you think the others think that we are hooking up tonight?"

"Probably."

"Maybe that will deter Ted."

"Yeah…so…are we?"

"Are we what?" Robin asked.

"Hooking up."

It made her laugh, "I hadn't planned on it."

"It's always hard to plan these things, but just in case, I am ready to suit up, if you know what I mean."

"I would probably fall asleep before you got to suit up." She replied.

"That's fine with me baby."

Robin opened her eyes again, and they looked at each other, "I missed this."

"Me too." He nodded.

She closed her eyes again, and they were silent for the rest of the ride.

"Wow, you even changed, and washed the sheets." Robin realized as she let herself fall onto her bed.

Barney nodded, "of course, do you really think I would just bang girls on it, and then leave it like that?"

Robin shrugged, "donno."

Barney sat down on the edge of the bed, and watched her.

"What?" Robin asked.

"You look horrible."

"Thanks." Robin muttered, and flung a pillow at him.

"I should let you get some sleep. Laser Tag tomorrow night, don't forget."

Robin nodded, "cigar bar afterwards?"

"Yep." He leaned down, and hugged her, "good night Scherbatsky."

"Night Barney."
