The attack on Hyperion tower had begun in full force as the Slab bandits and Crimson raiders attacked distracting them as the Vault hunters moved up the tower as fast as they could. However they where slow moving as the hill as too fortified to get up reasonably fast, that and Maya was slowing them down due to her stomach giving her pain. Axton wanted to say something but he just couldn't. But soon enough they reached the top of the bunker.
Axton and Raider took the front with Gaige and Maya behind them then Krieg and Sal with Zero brining up the rear.
"You didn't think I'd leave the AI core undefended did you?" Jack said over the Echo.
"Wait," Raid said in Jacks voice. "He didn't did he?" he muttered.
Just then an oval ship then took off the pad and flew into the air before bombarding them with rockets and lasers. That caused them to take cover and fast.
"I hate that THING!" Gaige yelled.
"Yeah, it's called BUNK3R, it's an aerial combat drone similar to what the loaders use to shield themselves from our bullets. But well for obvious reasons it's bigger." Raider said.
"Leme guess, you help design it?" Axton asked.
"More like build the damn thing solo."
"Is there anything in Hyperion you didn't do?" Maya asked.
Raider was silent at that, but while that happened BUNK3R took another pot shot at them. Thy had to move up into a garden like area for better cover.
"That thing's moving too fast for us to hit." Gaige said.
That made Raider realise something, a flaw in the made of the drone. One that he wasn't able to correct, in hindsight that was probably for the best.
"I have a really bad idea." he said as he handed Axton one of his high explosives. "Get ready to jump."
Axton nodded and the two readied themselves. As the drone readied it's self the two then moved as fast as they could and jumped of the side. For a moment nothing happened but just then the drone came up with the two on it. The weapon hardpoints opened up and the two threw their explosives in before jumping back on to the facility. The devices exploded and the drone fell. The two took deep breaths before the others joined.
"Sick man." Gaige said as she high fived the guerilla fighter.
"Yeah, now come on this fucking voice is getting on my nerves." he said.
The hunters moved down a level to the door.
"I'm Handsome Jack, open please." he said.
The door opened and the seven entered. As they did Raider disabled his voice modulation unit.
"So Raid what do you know about Angel?" Axton asked.
"Very fucking little. All I know is that she's an AI who can do a lot of shit if it's connected to Hyperion tech. Which is why those fast travel and new-u stations are down. Jack disabled them using Angel. Other then that, I know little."
"Ok, let's move." Maya said as she opened the door to the AI core.
Once it opened she just froze. Axton followed and followed her eyes, he just like her stared.
"Err Raid? Angel's a Siren." he said.
"WHAT?!" he yelled moving over to the with the others to see a woman hovering in a glowing tube.
"Hello." she said as the group moved up to her tube.
"Your a siren?" Raider asked. "Well that explains the Phase shift."
"Indeed." Zero muttered.
"ANGEL WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Jack said as his mug cam onto the screens.
"Dad fuck you!" Angel screamed as the screens tuned off.
Loaders then began to be constructed.
"STOP THEM WHILE I OPEN THE ERIDIUM PIPES!" she called.
"YOU HEARD HER LET'S FUCK EM UP!" Axton yelled.
As soon as he said that the Hunters began to move and fast. The armed loaders began to engage but the experienced Vault hunters knew what they where doing. They split up moving between the loaders destroying them one by one. In this enclosed space teamwork could work, but then gain they could get in each others way so the odd assist would work.
Axton, the de facto leader used his training to move around them and set up his turrets to take out the majority of them. Raider was a quicker one as he dived and rolled between the Loaders his new legs gave him this speed. His guerilla fighting style taught him, speed was key for him, as well as high explosives. Using sticky bombs he placed them on loader's legs and torsos before they blew.
Maya followed her boyfriends example, she had little training but as someone once said, 'One must always start with the art of imitation.' and that is was she did as she moved around fast. She used her Phase lock to draw in as many loaders as she liked before using a corrosive grenade on them.
Sal and Krieg where both the heavy hitters of the team. Krieg moved around with his buzz-saw slicing and dicing the loaders like a crazed maniac while Sal just used his guns to pump the loaders with lead.
Gaige however a big fan of electric weapons and use of Death trap made mass chaos across the attack. Zero was doing more along the lines of close quarters with his sword. Slicing and dicing them like no tomorrow. The attack lasted for a good five minutes before the area was little more then loader corpses. Just then a door opened and the team saw Roland.
"Ok is it just me or is Angel a Siren?" he asked.
"Not just you boss." Axton said as a hissing sound met their ears they looked up to see one of the pipes opening up.
"SHOOT IT QUICK!" Angel yelled.
The hunters did as they where told and the pipe exploded showing the area below it with liquid eridium. As it happened Angel screamed.
"STOP!" Jack yelled over the echo. "You'll kill her."
"I think that's the plan." Raider said.
"I cannot open the other pipes one of you has to do it.
"I'll get it done." Roland said.
