One Shall Remember
***So small note before the chapter, I had 3 people request a part where I show exactly how Licoal became an admiral. (In total Origm2012 [the only person who reviews] Elementninja111 [my editor/slave] and Avi [The guy who made Licoal]) so this will be a mini-chapter recollecting how Licoal became an admiral.
Licoal was sleeping at his desk when Kuunka entered the room. Licoal yawned as Kuunka shook him awake. "What do you want, Kuunka?" he asked, yawning more. "Well, I was actually wondering, how did a pirate like you make Admiral in a year? I mean, my brother is a pirate and that's reason enough for them to keep me low on the food chart," he said, almost distasteful when mentioning his brother. "I guess it just comes down to a few facts and where I stood. How about I just tell you the story?
"It all started about a week after the war. A normally rowdy ship was silent, and rain was falling as a storm rolled over the sky. Rock had stayed in his cabin for the entire week barely eating anything. Any time we tried to approach him, he would throw stuff at anyone who entered. After the second week, I left. I wasn't going to stand around and watch him destroy himself. I set out for Kikou's crew, to be with Aoichi. And then, after time, I left them. I saw something…a reason to become a marine.
"At first Shen almost ordered my execution, but then I dropped them, the bodies of 4 pirates, each a high ranking member of the Yonko's crews. He offered me warlord status, but I refused. I told him I didn't want to be a pirate; I didn't want to be some poster-boy for the world of pirates to hate. He refused at first, but then I pointed out a few things. I am the grandson of Admiral Keno, one of the most decorated marines in history, giving more than 80 years of service, and that he could easily control every piece of information I was given. That I'd make a great asset to them power wise."
"And he trusted you?" Kuunka said, interrupting. Licoal looked at him sourly. "No, he asked for help from one of the other organizations of the world government," Licoal said before continuing the story.
"The man's name was strange. They called him V-13 the Archive, and he was a large man with many scars and in all black. He apparently had the ability to read minds, said he was part of the interrogation core of some army corps from the south blue. He apparently had the ability to read minds. This was their way of making sure I had no alternative motive. When they discovered what my plans were, they were happy to accept me into the marines. Someone who intented on removing slavery from the world for good would make them look very good to the world. Even more so if they could say it was a pirate they rehabilitated.
"Due to my grandfather, my survival training from my past, my expertise on various pirates, they started me off at Ensign. Said, depending on what I did, I could move through the ranks very fast, so I did the only thing I could think of; I brought down various pirates with high bounties. Within two weeks, I was a Captain. That gave me more resources which allowed me to move more freely throughout the ranks. Then four days after I made my way to Vice-Admiral by taking down pirates who had been causing trouble for years. I captured a troublesome supernova, thus giving me the final push to becoming a full-fledged Admiral. Shen said it was nice having the grandson of an Admiral work so hard and become an Admiral so fast. Sadly, the record for fastest Admiral from within the marines still belongs to Elizabeth who ended up being a traitor. I still have some work to do before I'm on her level."
"Wow, so the fast track is to capture a bunch of pirates. Good to know," Kuunka said, looking at him. "So, what about Troy? Where did you meet him?" he asked. "Troy was a Lieutenant when I became a Captain. We became good friends right away, and I dragged him along with me with each promotion," Licoal said, looking out the window. "What about you, Kuunka? Your file isn't exactly thick," he said. Kuunka laughed. "Yeah, it's not the most detailed thing. I've mainly just gone from division to division. As soon as they find out who I'm related to I get kicked out of basically every division. I was surprised you directly asked for me, honestly," he said, looking at the floor. "Well I understood what kind of skills you brought to the table and figured that outweighed anything else." Kuunka nodded, standing up. "Thanks for giving me this chance," he said before walking out of the office. Licoal sighed as he took out a picture of Aoichi. He gripped it tightly. "Don't worry… Soon I'll make sure you never have to fight again," he said before putting it back into his pocket.
***Yes I know its short but it is a mini-chapter
