Ivysaur, now as high as Red's chest, bellowed a deep growl. Blue gathered himself as he reached for his last pokeball. Without a word of encouragement, the ball exploded to reveal a gigantic sea monster. Blue's most powerful Pokemon bared its teeth as it stared down at the half bloomed dinosaur.

"This is gonna be tough, but we got this, right?"

Red received a growl of approval from his loyal Pokemon.

"I'm gonna show you how to take this sea slug down."

He waited for Blue to give the first command. Nothing came from the other side. Yet this time, Red knew what moves to use.

"Leech it with some seeds!"
Ivysaur gladly shot seeds into Gyarados' direction, with little vines latching onto its body. The Atrocious Pokemon panicked as it felt the seeds slowly drain away its energy.

"Forget those seeds! Bite that walking flower!"

Gyarados lunged forwards with bared teeth. Red saw this move coming.

"Vine tackle!"

Ivysaur used its vines to catapult above the ground, watching Gyarados barrel down underneath it. Its vines grabbed the Pokemon's back and slammed down onto it.

"Hold on to its back, Ivy!"

The seeds did their work as Ivysaur held on with all of its strength.

"Get it off of you, idiot!"

The serpent flailed about, trying to shake it off.

"Now, start charging your bulb!"

The crowd gasped as Ivysaur's flower began to glow.

Blue stared in shock and dread as he saw Red shrug at him.

"You think I'd get a seed pokemon and not teach Solar Beam? You'd be out of your mind."

Gyarados' flailing grew weaker as the seeds drained it further.

"But you can't do that! That's-"

"That's what? Against the rules? No, it says you can only use 4 moves at a time. Never mentions which 4."

Ivysaur's bulb charged to full capacity, with beams of light shooting into the sky.

"Speaking of which, here's my third move. BLOW IT AWAY, IVYSAUR!"

The whole Academy felt a booming echo across the campus as a bright light shine across the battlefield. Solar Beam is considered to be one of the most powerful moves in the league, and the first one shot out by a Pokemon is especially violent and explosive. Gyarados never stood a chance.

For the second battle, a high-level Gyarados is taken down by a Newbie.

The crowd stood in silence, still recoiling from the madness that just occurred.
