Inuyasha heard the sound of someone singing and figured it had to be Kagome. From what Sota had said she loved to sing.
"Probably why she likes to sing that lullaby to Shippo…"

The words struck him like a knife, digging deep into his heart. They were words filled with pain and sorrow and the hurt of a future goodbye. From him.

He located her in a lovely garden and wondered why Naraku would have such a thing so close and why it hadn't been brought to decay by his miasma.
He was about to leapt down to her when he heard the next words come from her lips. Lips he so wished he'd kissed that night just to shut her up. If he had maybe nothing like what had happened.
Maybe she'd be home with him, safe and sound in her bed.
"Inuyasha…you made me a promise didn't you…you said you'd meet me when the time comes…please keep it." She said sadly as she stood.
Again he was about to run to her, until Naraku appeared in the doorway of a room. Inuyasha let out a low growl when he saw the beast embrace Kagome when she went to him.
"Do you like the garden?"
"…I do…but it's not something I would have thought you'd have…"
"Well, I do enjoy the finer things in life, however until recently this garden has never flourished as it does now."
"I see…"
"Inuyasha was at the border to the barrier."
"I know…I requested he be told to leave…"
"That must have been hard on you…"
"Not as hard as other things…"
"He won't leave you be though, he'll continue to try and get to you."
Kagome sighed and turned her head slightly "His persistence will be in vain."
"Will it now?"
"Yes…" Naraku tightened his hold on her, causing Inuyasha to admit another low growl.
"Why is that?"
"Don't make me say it…"
"Say it, I want to hear you say it…"
"Cause…"
"Cause why?"
"I've decided to stay here. There happy?"
"Very…Hrm, what do you want Kanna?"
The white demon showed Naraku the image in the mirror.
"Wretched dog! He's broken the barrier! Damn him!" Naraku growled as Kagome stood.
"I'll let you go and deal with the problem…"
"Grr, I'll be back…stupid damn half bred dog! Argh should have strengthened the damn thing when I had the chance."
Kagome watched him walk away and went inside the room; sure enough it was her room.
"Hm…Maybe things will be better…in our next life…maybe we'll…"
Kagome sighed and crossed the room to the futon. She didn't want to sit down, but she was tired and didn't feel like doing anything, but sleep.
"Hope everything at home is alright…poor people…never had anything like that happen to them…why didn't the shrine gates fight off the evil? Was it because they'd already allowed evil in?"
Inuyasha stealthily watched her from the doorway, ever so silently entering the room, only to duck into the shadows so as not to be seen.
"How many times has he been there? He spoke about the future like he knew everything about it…just when did he begin going there…" Kagome's heart began to race
"Has he always gone there…even when…" she feared that, that day in her room hadn't been the first assault upon her.
She remembered when he'd mentioned about her not being a virgin anymore and that made her tremble. She hadn't known anything about not being pure. She'd thought she still was…had he mentioned that to give her the thought that he had been the one to…
"No…no, that isn't possible…"
"What isn't possible?"
Kagome tensed and turned around with such speed she nearly tripped over the long robe she wore. Arms wrapped around her to stabilize her.
"You alright…"
"Inuyasha…"
Kagome glared at him.
"Wha…"
"What the hell are you doing here!"
